Snowbound

Out in the ice region, there was a glacier of ice cavern in the ocean. A hooded stranger travel to the ice cavern as they have come for something. He came across the ice wall with the face of an ice giant.

"Who dares awaken Morlath, Lord of the Northern Ice?!" Morlath demanded. "Speak! Or find your forming eternal frozen!"

The stranger unhooded his cloak as Morlath narrowed his eye, revealing Skeleton King himself.

"Bold threats for a demon confined." He scoffed. "Why not spread your icy reach beyond this realm?" He asked before offering it. "Obey me and I will free you!"

"Lord Skeleton King, what would you ask of me?" Morlath inquired.

"Nothing more than a dusting of your essence, upon Shuggazoom city…" Skeleton King cackled, pulls out the orb, showing it the Shuggazoom city.

Complying to his offer, Morlath lent him his power by breathing his icy essence over to the orb, creating an icy cold weather in the city.

"Harsh mistress winter!" He laughed, evilly.

While exploring the outskirts of the city, I discovered an abandoned Super Robot. It was then my life was transformed by the mysterious Power Primate. The Robot Monkeys and a Cyborg were awakened and I, Chiro, became their leader. Our quest: save Shuggazoom City from the evils of the Skeleton King.

In Shuggazoom city, everyone is outside having fun when the winter hits. They were plowing the snow, sledding the snow, and making a snow robot. The Hyper Force is outside, surprised that it's snow season as they looked at the frozen Super Robot with Chiro and Tyran wearing their winter coats.

"I can't believe it! Snow in Shuggazoom!" Chiro said, astonished.

"An intriguing climate condition." Antauri said. "For a city that hasn't seen frost in centuries."

"Hmm, perhaps I should analyze the snow-OH!" Gibson pondered but cut when he was hit with a snowball.

He turned to see Sparx, Otto and Tyran, holding a snowball in their hands.

"Just helping you get a closer look." Sparx said.

Gibson shook off the snow. "That wasn't very bright, Sprax." He morphed his drill hands and sucking up the snow before firing at them as they took cover behind the snow fort.

"Hey, no fair!" Sparx yelled.

"Wahoo!" Otto whooped. "Snowball fight!"

"Take that!" Tyran shouted, started catapulting more snowballs at Gibson by rotating his arms around while digging a handful of snow and throws it at him.

"Hey, that's not quite a sport!" He shouted.

While Chiro and Antauri watches them having a snowball fight, Nova stood a doorway, warming herself with her lit tail while shivering from cold weather.

"What's the matter, Nova?" Chiro asked, noticing she didn't come outside. "Don't you like this weather?"

"Oh yeah, love it." She said, sarcastically. "It chills your circuits, freezes your fur, and numbs your toes."

"Oh come on, it's not that bad." Chiro assured before he was hit by a snowball in the face.

Sparx chuckled, "Sorry kid." He apologized.

"Hah! Sparx, you couldn't hit the Super Robot if you were standing…" Otto teased him while shacking his rear at him. "Inside of it!"

Insulted by his teasing, Sparx throws a big snowball at him, but Chiro and Otto jumped out of its way as it headed for Nova.

Tyran and the monkey team was shocked and surprised as Nova became very angry and steps out but when she steps out of the Robot, snow beneath her feet melted quickly.

"Calm down, Nova. Do not let your anger get the best of you." Antauri advised her.

Nova grabbed the handful of snow and it melted quickly.

"You do remember the last time you lost your temper?" He reminded her about what happened last time.

She calms down as she remember the last time when she lost her temper.

"Yeah, I remember." Nova sighed.

"What? What happened last time?" Chiro asked, confusedly. " What were you talking about?"

"Don't worry about it, kid." Sparx said. "Ancient history."

"It's a long story, Chiro." Tyran said.

Chiro was left perplexed until the snowstorm is rolling in and blowing hard.

"Whoa, it's coming down now!" Otto exclaimed.

The Hyper Force ran back to the Super Robot.

"I'm freezing my tail servo off!" Nova said as they get in the Robot but as the door closes, she saw something moving in the snow. "What's that?" She mumbled as the door closed.

The next morning, Chiro woke up by his alarm but shivered from the cold and came down from his chute, wearing the scarf.

"Why is it so cold in here?" He asked Otto.

"The Robot's thermal cells have frosted over." He said while trying to defrost the temperature system. "But it's way worse out there." He looked where Tyran and the others is watching at the monitor that showed the Shuggazoom city is frozen and snowed in.

"So this is what? The next Ice Age?" Nova questioned.

"Your simplistic summation may not be far off." Gibson said, checking his scanner. "Temperature's continue to drop and I have no idea what's causing this cold spell." He explained until he found something. "Ah, the source of this freeze has been located." He gasped in shock. "Impossible!"

"You gonna share, Gibson?" Sparx inquired.

He pressed a couple of buttons on his scanner and connecting it to the monitor, showing them the source of the snowstorm.

"The center of the storm is not in the Troposphere or high in the sky! It's deep under the snow!" Gibson explained.

"But how is it possible?" Tyran said.

"What? That doesn't make any sense!" Otto exclaimed. "Or does it?"

"It seems nature has been usurped by unnatural forces." Antauri deduced.

"And we're gonna check it out!" Chiro declared.

"Great." Nova groaned.

"Why don't you just stay back here, bake some cookies or make some-" Sparx suggested to Nova.

"A knuckle sandwich?! For you!" Nova frowned. "I'm going!"

Outside the Robot, they manual the Robot's brain scrambler to melt the frozen hatch with its heat beam and opened it to outside.

"Too windy for rocket packs! We'll have to go on foot!" Chiro said before jumping down while the monkey team and Tyran jumped down as well.

The Hyper Force begun searching for the source of the winter storm while Gibson is scanning for it.

"Chiro, we are nearing the storm source in that…!" Gibson informed him until the snow wind stopped. "We're very close."

"Speaking of close, I've detected some foreign signatures around us." Tyran said, detecting from his internal scanner.

"What foreign signatures, Tyran?" He inquired.

"Over there!" Otto said, pointed at something.

They see something skating by them and stopped. Stopped in front of them was the strange icicle-like creature.

"It appears to be a form of sentient ice." Gibson noted. "Fascinating."

"Weird." Chiro muttered.

"It's kinda cute! Come here, you-!" Otto said, approaching it but it zipped away from him and stopped at a couple feet away from the group as He approached it.

"Otto, careful." Antauri cautioned him.

"Oh, Antauri. You worry too-WAAAHHH!" Otto yelped when the icicle creature bit his arm, freezing it a bit.

"Otto!" Nova yelled and punched it away from Otto with her Giant Fists.

More icicle creatures sprouting out of the snow, surrounding them.

"Defense mode, team!" Chiro declared.

"Swirling Destructo-Saw!" Otto sliced two icicle creatures, shattering them in pieces.

The icicle creature ambushed Sparx by leaping on his head and bite it, causing him to screech in screaming.

"Sparx, hold still!" Gibson said, coming over him and melting the ice on his head.

"Get down!" Sparx yelled, shooting his magnet zapper at another icicle creature behind Gibson.

Antauri keeps slicing more creatures with his Ghost Claws while Tyran hacks them with his axe hand. Another icicle creature is about to attack Antauri from behind but Chiro did the flying kick, shattering the creature in pieces. He smashed two more until there's nothing left.

They heard and saw Nova kept pounding the icicle creature until there's nothing left before she noticed the team watched her and chuckled sheepishly.

"Those things must be behind the cold spell!" Chiro said. "Gibson, how close are we to the storm source?"

"Based upon my scans, we are directly above-WAHH!" Gibson yelped when he was dragged in the snow, shocked the team.

"Gibson!" Otto called.

Suddenly, Otto was pulled in snow as if something in the snow is dragging him in while Tyran and Sparx grabbed him.

"We gotcha!" Sparx said.

They got him but was dragged in the snow with Otto,

"Hugh!" Nova breathed heavily before having a rage look.

"Nova, don't move!" Antauri warned, stopping her as the icicle creature moves in the snow.

"Yeah, they can't get us if we don't move, right?" Chiro said while the ice creature surrounds them.

Chiro and Antauri yelled was heard when they were dragged in the snow, horrified Nova.

She looked back to see more icicle creatures coming for her next and circling around her while Nova was terrified, completely helpless with the team.

"NOOOOO-WHOA!" Nova screamed before getting dragged in the snow.

Beneath the Shuggazoom City, the monkey team and Tyran turned their floodlight while their body is encased in ice.

"What happened? Where-where are we?" Otto asked, pointing his floodlight at Chiro.

When Chiro looked to his left, he sees… frozen Mr. Gagslapper.

"Oh no!" He gasped.

"The people are popsicles!" Otto exclaimed.

They looked at all the frozen citizens of Shuggazoom until they see a guy with plush penguin, BT, and Glenny as they were surrounded by icicle creatures.

"Help!"

"Monkey team!"

They cried as the creatures breathed ice breath, freezing BT and Glenny into frozen statues.

"You'll always be my hero, Mr. Ch-Cheeper!" He said before freezes into ice statue.

The icicle creatures turns their attention to the Hyper Force.

"AUGH! We're next!" Sparx gasped before they struggled while Tyran tried use Heat Beam at them but his internal cyber organ is freezing.

"Can't move! Temperature's too low!" Nova grunted as the icicle creatures leapt towards them.

"Activate your Auxiliary Energy System!" Antauri said. "Increase Internal Heat… Now!"

Nova increase her internal heat temperature as the others did and broke free.

"Time for a little ice sculpture!" She snarled and punched.

Otto broke free before the others did and freed Chiro and Tyran. Nova keeps punching icicle monsters away, furiously until one ice creature skidded and retreated in the ice wall, much to her anger.

"GET BACK HERE!" Nova snapped before pounding on the wall while the Chiro, Tyran, and the monkey team watched her until Antauri approaches and grabbed her wrist, making her look at him.

"Nova, if you must get angry, know that there was a time and place to express it." He advised, calming her down. "Now, we have more important matters to attend."

"Yeah!" Otto said, brandishing his saw-blades. "like breaking out these people-cicles!"

"No Otto!" Gibson stopped him. "Simply breaking them free could prove fatal! They're in the state of Cryo-hibernation, they must be defrosted, gradually."

"Which way to the freeze source, Gibson?" Chiro asked as Gibson checked his scanner.

"There!" He said, pointing at the ice tunnel. "Deeper into the ice."

Nova cracked her knuckles and take point as the others followed her into the tunnel.

As they travel to the source, Chiro was curious about Nova behavior when she gets angry, especially about last time or before they mentioned.

"You alright?" He asked, concerned.

"I don't want to talk about it!" Nova hissed.

"Got it. Say no more." Chiro said.

She sighed, knowing the boy have right to know about her heated anger issue.

"It was a long time ago, Chiro." She explained. "A long time ago."

(Flashback)

Mandarin is behind the glass, smiling while Nova is shivering in the training room when it turned low on temperature.

"Mandarin was still a member of the monkey team, teaching me how to brave the elements."

The orange monkey turned the knob, turning down temperature more in the training room.

"Even back then I knew, it was freezing… and all I could think of was Mandarin, sitting behind that window, laughing at me."

Nova becomes more shivered when the training room is getting colder.

"I don't know why…"

Suddenly, Nova started to engulf in flames.

"I just got so hot! Nearly blew the walls of the training room!"

She furiously looked back at Mandarin and emitting a heat wave, almost wrecking the training and blew him away as he screeched in surprised before crashing against the wall. Nova breathed heavily while having an angry look with the training room wreaked as Tyran rushed in to see what happened.

(Flashback End)

"That little orange creep deserved it." Chiro smirked.

"Chiro, I nearly destroyed the robot." She said. "I tried to control my temper ever since. I had to, because if I got really mad."

"You might hurt the one you love." Sparx joked but Nova is feeling down. "Ah, seriously, I'm sorry about that snowball to the face."

"Oh no, you can't help it." She said. "You're the dumb monkey."

Sparx scratched his head while his tongue is sticking out before Otto laughed.

"It's true! You are the dumb monkey!" He laughed before falling down.

As they are near the source with Gibson's scanner indicates, it beeped as if they are getting closer.

"Temperature is sub-zero. We've reached the source of the freezing." Gibson reported. "Though, I don't see anything unusual."

Tyran's scans is detecting something before looking up.

"I think I've found one." He said.

"Where?" Gibson inquired.

"It's coming from right… up… there." The cyborg pointed up at the ice ceiling before something is coming out.

Chiro reacted by grabbing Gibson and hide while the Hyper Force did the same. Coming out of the ceiling is… an ice witch and attached to it was the ice centipede as they descended down. The Hyper Force watched as the ice witch breathed ice, creating more icicle creatures.

Nova was shivering at them before the ice witch saw something but they hid to avoid getting spotted.

"Let's cook this bug beast." Chiro declared.

Suddenly, he was grabbed by an ice centipede before it swatted Tyran and the monkey team.

"Chiro Spearo!" Chiro threw his lighting spear at the ice witch, making her let go of him.

She shoots her ice nails at him, but Antauri jumps up and swatted them away.

"Nova, bring her down!" Chiro commanded as Nova leaps up and smashed the ice centipede's body before they falls and crashes to the ground.

"Thunder Punch!" Chiro jumps up and lands his powered fist, smashing against them and explodes.

The Hyper Force stands before the remains of ice witch, triumphed, hopefully it will end this eternal winter disaster.

"Guess you 'iced' her, huh Chiro?" Otto joked.

"She won't be making any more of those flying frozen things." He said.

"But temperature is already rising." Gibson reported, checking his scanner. "Apparently, she or it or whatever was the source of the freeze. Very odd."

"Let's find the rest of her frosty little FREAKS before they cause any more trouble." Nova declared, holding her fist.

"In time." Antauri said. "First, we must return to the Robot and recharge our heat sources."

Nova groaned in defeat before they headed back to the Super Robot.

"At least the worst is over." Tyran said.

When they left the ice cavern, the ice mist is steaming out the ice rubble.

The others made it out to the Shuggazoom city as Antauri and Nova helped Chiro up while Gibson is checking his scanner.

"Okay, we get back to the Robot and it's soup all round." Sparx said.

"I hope you make chicken soup." Tyran said.

"Most disconcerting." Gibson said, concerned.

"For what? I make great soup." The red monkey said.

"No, this is disconcerting." He said.

"What do you mean, Gibson?" Tyran asked.

"My analysis of this… snow." Gibson explained. "It's not actually snow at all. Each flake is some type of canerian larvae, the first stage of those… icy… little monsters."

His scanner zooms in on the snowflake and another showed Otto tasted handful of snow.

"Then, I shouldn't be eating them, huh?" Otto groaned, hangs his tongue out in disgust.

The snow storms is rolling in and creating a large gust of snow wind as they gritted from the cold wind. When the snow storm is cleared, the ice witch appears out of the ground.

"I thought we beaten her already!" Tyran grunted as the Hyper Force stands ready.

"Thunder Punch!" Chiro smashed the ground, creating a small quick for the ice witch to fall in.

"We'll make for the Robot!" Gibson shouted before they make their back to the Super Robot.

While they ran back, the ice witch emerges from the crevasses as they reached the Robot.

Chiro started punching the ice to the hatch, but it's frozen solid.

"The hatch! It's frozen shut!" He exclaimed before looking at the ice witch on their trail. "Otto, the Robot's heat beams!"

"We can activate it from outside." Otto realized. "I'm on it!"

Otto jumps and climbed up to the Robot's head with his saw blades as the others followed but Antauri stayed behind until Sparx noticed, who jumps off and stood beside him.

"Come on!" Chiro yelled.

"I don't need you, kid!" Sparx said.

"We'll hold her off!" Antauri added.

They rushed towards the ice witch.

"Double Monkey Attack!" He yelled as Sparx jumps over her claw attack while Antauri pushed the other claw away but he was slammed against the wall.

"Get away from him, you witch!" He yelled, pounding on the ice claw.

Ice witch used the ice stinger and stung him from his back.

"AAGHHH!" Sparx screamed before turning into the frozen statue.

Shocked that his friend is frozen, Antauri glared at the ice demon before she breathes ice breath, freezing him. Chiro and others gasped in shocked that Sparx and Antauri is frozen.

"Keep going!" Chiro yelled as they climb up while ice witch follows them from behind.

She breathed ice breath at them but missed when Nova and Chiro moves away from it.

"Hugh… Hugh… go on." Gibson breathed, tiredly. "My energy resources are… ninty-six percent… depleted!"

"You can make it, Gibson!" Nova encouraged him but he loses his grip on ice wall and falls down.

"Gibson!" Tyran yelled, grabbing him by his tail.

"Nice… catch." He panted as the ice witch freezes Gibson. "AAUGHHH!"

The blue monkey is frozen, making the cyborg let go of him.

"You guys go on ahead, I'll hold her off!" Tyran told them before letting go the ice wall.

The cyborg lands on the ice centipede and started punching the ice witch away. Annoyed by the cyborg's effort, she tried to breathed him but Tyran closed her mouth, preventing her from freezing him. Before he blast her, Tyran was stung in the back, freezing him as well before being tossed away.

"No!" Nova screamed.

"Come on, hurry!" Chiro said, continuing to climb up.

Otto finally reached the top and ran to the control sets before hacking the ice away.

"Come on!" He grunted while hacking it.

Chiro and Nova climbed to the edge as Otto is fiddling with the wiring, hoping to get it work.

"Otto, hurry!" Chiro shouted while Otto is connecting the wire.

"Got it!" He said as the Robot's head is activated.

But the ice witch reaches the top and saw Otto is fiddling the Robot's weapon system before freezing him, shocking Chiro and Nova while the Robot is power down. The ice witch is breathing up in the storm, creating more icicle creatures as they popped out everywhere. She order her icy minions to attack them, making them run from them.

"Antauri said there was a time and a place to express anger!" Chiro said.

"Yeah, this is it!" Nova agreed.

They stopped and turn around to attack them as Nova keeps punching those icicle creatures away while Chiro did the same thing.

"There's too many!" He keeps punching them until Chiro was stung, freezing him before the ice witch throws him against the wall.

"Chiro!" Nova cried before smashing more of them but was caught by her.

Before the ice witch freezes her, Nova releases her heated anger.

"NOOOOOOOAAHHHH!" She screamed, surprises her and lifted up in the air.

Nova lets out all of her anger out, releasing an extreme heat all over Shuggazoom city. The ice witch howled as she was melting, along with her minions. Nova is releasing more heat, dispersing the snow storm and defrosting the Hyper Force, along with everybody in Shuggazoom city. But the heat from Nova is starting grow more intense as everyone is groaning and sweated from extreme heat.

"Nova! Nova…!" Chiro called but he started to collapsed.

"Chiro!" She cried before she collapsed from her rage and falls down.

The boy looked up and ran to catch her as she fell down.

In the Med-lab, Nova was placed in the chamber as she was recovering while Chiro, Sparx, Antauri, and Otto watched.

"You did it, Nova." Chiro mumbled. "You saved us all."

"Yeah, but we almost lost her." Sparx remarked.

"Dwell not on her negative, Sparx." Antauri said. "She survived and will be stronger for it."

At the computer analysis, Tyran and Gibson is analyzing the remains of snow creatures.

"Aren't you two sick of those things yet?" Otto asked, coming over to them. "I am."

"Probably because you've been eating them." Gibson said. "We've discovered the creatures were not biologically created. I believe their origin was… mystical in nature."

Tyran hummed, having a pretty good idea of how they were created and by who.

Back in the glacier region, Skeleton King returns to Morlath, upholding their agreement from earlier.

"Skeleton King, we had an arrangement." It said. "I to freeze Shuggazoom and you to free me!"

"That was the deal, Morlath." He said, pointing his staff at it. "I promised I'd free you… and now that you are weakened from your efforts, I will free you… into my power!"

"NOOO!" Morlath howled as it was absorbed in Skeleton King's staff.

"Now, I own not only you, but your magic as well." He sneered before leaving.

Once he's out of the tomb, Skeleton King cast his ice magic, creating an ice bridge before cackling as he leaves.
