Chapter 5

Two days have passed and Isis is in Lilith's room. She has just got done changing Lilith's bandages and giving her medicine. A lot of the infection has cleared up. Isis touched Lilith's forehead and smiled. She can tell that Lilith's fever has broken. Isis got a piece of paper and wrote a note. She gave it to her palisman and said "Take this to Eda please." Isis's palisman is a dove named Morning Glory. The dove cooed and flew off. Twenty minutes later the dove found Eda. The witch is outside with Luz. They are practicing with the glyphs when they heard cooing.

Eda stopped what she was doing. And raised her hand so that the dove can land on it. The dove landed on Eda's hand. With her free hand she took the piece of paper from Morning Glory and read it.

"It's a note from Isis. And it says that a lot of the infection has cleared up. She also says that Lilly's fever has broken." informed Eda

"That's great to hear Eda" beamed Luz

"It is great to hear. Tell Isis I say thank you." stated Eda

The dove cooed and flew off. Twenty minutes later Morning Glory returned to the clinic. She landed on Isis's shoulder and cooed. Isis smiled and said "She is most welcome. I know the medicine that I'm giving her is helping. But the rest is all Lilith she must want to live." Three days have passed and all of Lilith's infection has cleared up. She is doing well and is showing signs of coming too. So Isis sent a message to Eda. Eda smiled while reading the message. Then she said "Tell Isis I'll be there in a bit." The dove cooed and flew off. Eda summoned her staff and got on. As she flew she thought to herself "It's too bad that Luz is at school. And King is napping."

Twenty minutes she arrived at Isis's clinic. Eda went into the clinic and saw Isis. Isis motioned for Eda to follow her. The two witches went to the secret section of the clinic. Then they went into Lilith's room. Eda is happy to see Lilith looking so much better. She went over and sat in a chair that's next to Lilith's bed. Isis smiled and said "I'll be back later I have other patients to check on." Eda nodded and said "Ok I'll be good here." Isis left Lilith's room and went to the main part of the clinic. Eda got comfortable and kept herself busy. At lunch time she got up and got something to eat. After having lunch Eda went back to the clinic.

She went back into Lilith's room and sat down. Not long after she sat down she heard Lilith moan. She looked over at Lilith and watched as Lilith opened her eyes. Once Lilith's eyes were open she looked around. Her eyes went wide when she saw Eda. Eda smiled and said "It's good to see you awake Lilly."

"What are... you doing here?" asked Lilith

"I'm here because I want to be here" replied Eda

"But I...cursed you... And I took Luz." stated Lilith weakly

"Yeah I'm not happy about any of that. But I read the letter that you wrote me. And read your notepads and it's clear. That you feel guilty for what you've done." informed Eda

"Yes I do feel terrible for everything that I've done." stated Lilith

"Hey now you have a chance to make things right." assured Eda

Lilith nodded and said "And I'm going to start making things right with you. I know of a way to help you with your curse." Eda shook her head and said "There is no help for my curse. I have my elixirs so I'm good." Lilith motioned for Eda to come closer. Eda leaned in closer to Lilith. The dark haired witch grabbed a hold of Eda's head. Then she placed her forehead on Eda's

"With this spell...declared." stated Lilith

Eda didn't give Lilith a chance to finish the spell. Buy managing to get out of Lilith's grasp.

"No Lilly I'm not going to let you use that spell. Not when you are still weak. You use that spell now you could die." fretted Eda

"I... deserve to die." choked Lilith

"No Lilly you don't deserve to die. If you deserved to die you would have by now. I'm willing to give you a second chance. The question is are you willing to give yourself a second chance." declared Eda

Lilith looked at Eda in surprise at what she just said. Tears came to her eyes and asked "You're willing.. to give me a second chance?" Eda nodded and replied "I'm not quite ready to forgive you yet. But I am willing to give you a second chance." Lilith started crying after Eda's replied. Eda got into her pocket and pulled out a handkerchief. She reached over and whipped away Lilith's tears. Then she said "Shhh calm down Lilly it's ok." Lilith started calming down after a few minutes. Eda sat back down and asked "Are you good now?" Lilith nodded and replied "Yeah I'm good."

Eda smiled said "Maybe when you are doing better. And you're stronger maybe. I'll let you do that spell. But to be honest I don't think you want any part of this curse." Lilith sighed said "I deserve to bear part of the pain and burden that you go through every day."

"Well thanks to that potion that was in the bag. That you threw to Luz I've been doing good. I take my elixirs whenever I feel feathery." assured Eda

Eda visited with Lilith until. She looked at the clock and said "I've got to get going. I have to get Luz from school. Maybe I can bring her to see you."

"Not that's ok I'm going to drift off after you go." stated Lilith

Eda nodded and left Lilith's room. Not long after she left Lilith closed her eyes. And drifted off to sleep. Once outside Eda summoned her staff and got on. Five minutes later Eda arrived at Hexside. She heard the bell scream just as she landed. A few minutes later she saw Luz. Eda smiled and asked "How was your day kiddo?" Luz also smiled and replied "I had a great day thanks for asking." The teenaged girl got on Eda's staff. Eda turned her staff and flew toward home. As she flew she decided to tell Luz that Lilith is conscious.

"I had a good day too Lilith came too today. And we had a nice chat." informed Eda

Still smiling Luz said "That's wonderful Eda." Soon they arrived at the Owl House. Eda and Luz got off of Eda's staff. Then they went into the house.
