CHAPTER 6
The Desert of Death they reached indeed. There, Micaiah sensed something calling out to her that was somehow located in ruins possibly built by the laguz changeling species. As everyone decided to investigate, someone was hiding from the Dawn Brigade. Sothe then decided to investigate for himself to see what the problem was. But all he found was a girl in light orange armor. Her name was Meg.
"A girl?" asked Sothe to himself.
"Oh, hey there. Sorry. I got startled a bit." said Meg.
"Hey, Sothe!" yelled Micaiah.
"Micaiah!" yelled Sothe.
"What now? Was I a bit of a delinquent?" asked Micaiah.
"Uh…what did you say?" asked Sothe.
"Oh, nothing." said Micaiah.
Meg then asked who the two people were. As Meg introduced herself as a Crimean armored sword knight, she was then asked why she came all the way from Crimea to Daein's Desert of Death. Meg answered, saying that she was looking for someone special.
"I see." said Micaiah.
"Would you like to join our group? We happen to be looking for someone too." said Sothe.
"Me…join you?" asked Meg. "Why, yes! Yes I would!"
"Then welcome, Meg! You're one of us now." said Micaiah in a welcoming manner. The investigation later continued onward into the ruins.
When the Dawn Brigade and their newest member Meg went into the ruins, gold was among many of the treasures there.
"Wow!" said Sothe. "Gold! Mounds of Gold that is!"
"Could the gold be calling out to Micaiah?" asked the boy of unknown origins Kurth
"Maybe…" said Micaiah.
"Hahahaha!" yelled and laughed out a distant voice. "More humans to snack on for dinner! Come out, laguz tigers! Feast your eyes on the humans!"
"Oh, great." said Sothe.
"Laguz bandits?" asked Micaiah. "Odd enough for us. I better give out the signal."
"What is it?" asked Nolan.
"Laguz bandits." Micaiah answered. "Lots of them.
"Dear god." said Aran.
"I'll help out too." said Laura.
"Very well then." said Micaiah.
The laguz bandits were coming out one by one when Micaiah marked the signal for her group to come out and fight.
"Laguz bandits, huh?" asked Bri.
"Sounds like we'd better fight then." said Rita. "Carl, you with me?"
"I'm with you on this one, Rita." said Carl.
"Can Brycen and I help too?" asked Beata.
"Sure." said Micaiah. "We'll need all the help we can get."
The fighting with the laguz bandits later began. Bri and Brycen, as well as Beata, were very hesitant to fight off the laguz. Micaiah wondered if there was any way she could help them all.
"Screw it!" said Brycen. "If they are bandits, we must fight!"
"...I guess I have to agree." said Beata. "Bri?"
"I have to agree, too." said Bri.
"I'm glad you three are agreeing with one another." said Micaiah. "But I have to get back to fighting."
Meanwhile with the laguz bandit leaders, who were two purple tiger laguz twins named Pain and Agony, they were watching all their bandit members get wiped out by the Dawn Brigade. However, Pain wanted to transform; he then proceeded to do it.
"Oh, shit…" said Agony.
"Tiger laguz! Approaching us dead ahead!" said Bri.
Pain later shifted back to regular form.
"What? A Wolf Rider?" asked Pain. "A female wolf rider? Hah! Funny as you seem, you're dumber than you look!"
"Am I dumb because I am a female?" asked Bri.
"You bet your looks you're dumb." said Pain.
"You know what…I hate fighting laguz…but I will always fight off bullies who are racist towards the beorc, and people who do not respect other's jobs because of their gender!" yelled Bri as she cantered on her wolf towards Pain. Pain later shifted into his tiger form. Micaiah later casted her Thani spell to blind the Dawn Brigade's foes.
"Eesh…" said Bri. "What total assholes they are."
"Yeah." said Sothe. "I agree.
"But…why laguz bandits?" asked Brycen.
"Maybe they like treasure like all bandits do." said Beata. "Hey, what's Micaiah doing?"
"Micaiah?" asked Sothe.
Meanwhile, with Micaiah, she was hearing someone singing a Galdar song. It was the royal heron laguz Rafiel, who was Reyson and Leanne's brother. He was accompanied with two wolves. However, little did everyone know that the wolves were actually laguz changelings and not mounts. The Wolf Laguz of the Hatari was who they were. Micaiah was eager to meet them. As for Bri, she remained neutral about the wolf laguz.
