CHAPTER 8
Edward and Nolan, as well as Bri on her wolf, charged forth while Leonardo drew an arrow from his quiver. Then, Queen Nailah of the Hatari Wolf Laguz then asked Micaiah what she and Volug could do to help them in any way, thinking that she did not want to be seen with laguz changelings. But Volug had an idea.
"What's going on?" asked Micaiah.
"How would you like to travel with this…dog?" asked Nailah.
"Dog?!" asked Carl. "He's a–"
"Shh!" shushed Micaiah.
"Sorry, Micaiah…it's just that…I've never seen that many Wolf Laguz before." whispered Carl.
"Yeah, don't say the 'L' word out loud, though." said Micaiah. "That man is right there."
"What man?" asked Rita.
"Well, the man that Cecily Fliesher was mentioning to us was a racist freak." Micaiah said. "But why call Volug a dog is really beyond me…"
"Well, wolves are dogs are they?" asked Nailah. "If that racist freak asks, just tell him it's a battle dog."
"...Okay." said Micaiah.
"Hold that thought for a second." said Laura. "I thought the laguz could not stay in their animal form long."
"Well, we can't, young one." said Queen Nailah. "However, Volug is halfshifted. He can stay like this all day."
"No wonder why we can have Volug travel with us." said Micaiah.
"Right." said Nailah. "I'll also be keeping a watchful eye on him as his queen and savior."
"Good idea." said Micaiah.
The group later went off.
When the Dawn Brigade was getting ready to assist everyone that were in need of help, a barrage of Miasma Poison rained down on some people. Luckily for the Dawn Brigade, the Laguz Confederation Legion, and of course Jill, Zihark, and Tauroneo, no one was struck. But Jill knew who exactly did it. It was Izzy, the now-turned Archsage of Black and Dark Magic, and her former teacher, Isaac.
"Izzy, Isaac! Thank the goddess you came to assistance!" yelled Tauroneo. "Quick! Take out that racist freak!"
"I've got this one, Tauroneo." said Isaac.
The racist freak, identified to be a fire mage named Wystan, was accompanied with a female wolf valkyrie. But this was not Bri. It was somebody else. A soldier on Begnion's side that was. She rode an ebon black and dark gray wolf into battle, something distinct from Bri, since she ride a white wolf in battle.
"People! Shall we see any wicked sub-human freaklings, I swear by the goddess I will murder each and every one of those furry, feathery, or scaly freaks of shame!" yelled the female wolf valkyrie as her wolf howled. She later identified herself as Sheena.
"Damn it!" yelled Bri.
"You know her, Bri?" asked Nolan.
"She's from the continent of Arlandia." answered Bri to Nolan. "The beorc people there are known for wolf riding."
"I see." said Nolan. "If she says that racist laguz term, then we must strike her down."
"I've got to confront her." said Bri.
"Bri no!" yelled Leonardo. "Damn it! I was going to shoot her wolf."
"Just do it." said Nolan.
Leonardo drew an arrow, and shot the wolf Sheena was riding.
"No! My Wolf! My beautiful ebon black wolf!" yelled Sheena. She later started to look for the victim. Thinking it was Bri, she confronted her.
"It was not me, ma'am." said Bri.
"Oh, a wolf rider like me, eh?" asked Sheena. "Hah! You look like someone who would work for me."
"Shut up!" yelled Bri. "You are nothing like me. Therefore, your little racist self should burn in the depths of hell!"
"You bitch!" yelled Sheena. "The sub-humans deserve to die! Right, Wystan?"
"Yes, they should die!" yelled Wystan. "Sub-humans, sub-humans, sub-humans!" yelled Wystan.
"Stop yelling that horrible word!" yelled Cecily. "There's laguz here under my command!"
"Sub-humans?! Under a female's command?!" asked Wystan.
"Pathetic and disrespectful." said Sheena. "Men oughta lead beorc beings and not pathetic and disgusting sub-human changelings."
"Stop this right now!" yelled a female voice.
"Luganda!" yelled Bri.
Luganda later shifted into her golden-furred tiger form as she ran to the rescue. There, she roared out to the enemies. While Begnion's soldiers feared for their lives, and cowered away like punies, Luganda, shifted into her golden-furred tiger form, gaited over to Wystan and Sheena. However, while Wystan's face was mauled off by her mighty and powerful fangs, Sheena dodged every bit of the attack. Luganda shifted back into her humanoid form.
"You…you dirty, rotten, filthy sub-human!" yelled Sheena.
"Stupid and pathetic beorc beings should not be racist to such beautiful tigers." said Luganda.
"And…why are you female?!" asked Sheena.
"Hey! There are female laguz out there too, you know." yelled Luganda. "I, a precise and peaceful Gallian warrior under the direction of the mighty lion king Caineghis, mighty ruler of the Beast Tribe Laguz that is, shall rip you to your shreds, you racist woman!" she later proclaimed and yelled. She then clawed at Sheena. Bri wanted a closer look.
"Bri?" asked Luganda.
"Luganda!" yelled Bri. "You're safe!"
"Why wouldn't I be?" asked Luganda. "I mean, taking care of Arlandia's people really paid off when King Caineghis and his nephew Skrimir sent me up there."
"What's Arlandia?" asked Micaiah.
"It's the land of the unknown, good lady." said Luganda.
Bri then reminded Luganda that Micaiah, the Silver-Haired Maiden, was whom she was under direction to.
"So this is your new job opportunity, Bri?" asked Jill Fizzart.
"Yes. It sure is my new job, Jill. Besides, it's nice to see you and Tauroneo up and running again." Bri said.
"Bri, I may not have fought in that war, but I've been exercising the old muscles ever since Gawain and I parted ways." said Tauroneo.
"Do you two know each other?" asked Sothe.
"Yeah, Tauroneo and I go way back." said Bri. "He was the guy that introduced me to General Gawain."
"Oh, I've meant to bring that up." said Luganda. "General Gawain…he's gone." Luganda mentioned.
"What?!" asked Bri.
"Who took him down?" asked Tauroneo.
"I'm not sure…if I remember from three years ago." said Luganda. "But I wouldn't talk about it now." said Luganda. "Look. We have an unexpected arrival."
The dark magical archsage Izuka, who was known for creating drugs that permanently shift laguz into their animal forms, arrived to greet the group. Sothe, who was disgusted by the old man's appearance, stopped him, and told him to state his name and business. Izuka did just that, saying that he was an advisor to Prince Pelleas, the son of the late Mad King Ashnard. Micaiah was shocked when she heard what she thought she had heard.
"We've been guarding the prince in these deserts for quite some time." said Colin.
"And I've been the one who dragged Colin into this." said Hannah.
"Hannah, we, along with the Laguz Confederation Legion, were all responsible for Prince Pelleas as of now." Cecily Fliesher said.
"Yeah, sissy." said Colin. "Get your facts straight together."
"Hah!" laughed Hannah. "Sorry…"
Sothe then asked Cecily, Jill, Zihark, Tauroneo, Colin, Hannah, and the Laguz Confederation Legion members if they would like any help in mustering Daein's bravery and courage. Tauroneo never minded, and said that help would be appreciated.
As Izuka thought everyone was ignoring him, he then thought that Micaiah's party were Begnion spies. However, Sothe said that they were not on the side of Begnion, they were fighting against Begnion. Then, Izuka told Micaiah that she should meet the lost Daein prince as he went back inside the temple.
"Eesh…" said Cecily.
"I would avoid him as best you can." said Hannah as she whispered to Sothe.
"But we must meet the prince." said Sothe. Sothe later went to follow Izuka.
"Sothe!" yelled Micaiah.
