CHAPTER 9

Micaiah wanted to know exactly where Sothe was going. Sothe answered, saying that he was going to meet the prince of Daein, Pelleas. He wanted to find out if he was Daein's true-blooded prince. As Izuka pushed Pelleas forth to the Dawn Brigade and Cecily Fliesher's Laguz Confederation Legion organization, he presented him as the prince of Daein. Ashnard's true-blooded son, that was. However, next to Pelleas, the consort and queen to the late King Ashnard was present: Lady Almedha. As Izuka told both of them to bow down before the Dawn Brigade, Pelleas said he was not ready for any kind of royalty yet. As Micaiah wondered why that was the case, Pelleas mentioned that he was raised as a normal commoner, and he wasn't aware that he was the son of the late King Ashnard.

"Now, Now, Pelleas." said Almedha. "Don't talk nonsense, sweet one."

"As if I would never part ways with you, sweet one." said Pelleas to Almedha.

"Alright, alright, alright!" yelled Izuka. "Enough of the pleasantries, please!"

Everyone remained silent. Then, Izuka wanted to knight dear Micaiah as general of the Daein Liberation Army.

"What the hell?!" asked Sothe.

"What on earth are you saying about Micaiah?!" asked Bri.

"I said I was going to knight her as the general of the Daein Liberation Army!" said Izuka.

"...I cannot accept this offer." said Micaiah. "I've no war general experiences."

"Oh ho, so you have no experiences with battle, you are assuming?" asked Izuka. "How….hm….inconsiderate."

"Shut up!" yelled Sothe. "She declined, she doesn't want it! Plus, I think you're scheming something, you old freak!" he later yelled.

"How nice of you to call me that." said Izuka to Sothe.

"However, this is not what he means." said Pelleas.

Micaiah decided to accept the offer from Pelleas. Sothe was shocked.

"Trust me, Micaiah." said Pelleas.

"...I will." said Micaiah.

Sothe later took Micaiah outside the hideout in an angry manner.

"What has gotten into him?" asked Bri.

"Maybe…he's a bit let down." said Nolan.

"I just hope Sothe's okay!" said Brycen.

"Shut it, Brycen!" said Beata.

Everyone later went outside.

Sothe was angry at Micaiah for accepting such an offer from Pelleas. However, as Micaiah implied that he was the true prince of Daein and Ashnard's son, Sothe really never cared, as he never knew if they were trustable people. However, he was still destined to protect Micaiah.

"Come on, you two." said Bri.

Micaiah and Sothe nodded and headed off with everyone else. However, Izuka, Pelleas, and Almedha decided to follow forth.

Meanwhile, in the Free State of Morado, inside the Kingdom of Daein, Begnion soldiers were controlling the people. Unfortunately, town assemblies were forbidden, and violators would be subjected to punishment if convicted to assemble. As one father of two children decided to reject the Begnion soldier's offer, he was executed by the soldier with his lance. Another soldier with brass gauntlets decided to beat his wife to death, and another Begnion soldier decided to execute the two children by stabbing them with his sword. A lance cavalier named Fiona saw everything unfold. Then, Jarod decided to come by to check on Fiona with two other Begnion soldiers. Unfortunately, Fiona had left after she mentioned that she didn't want to be involved.

"I see, I see…" said Jarod. "Smart one she is."

"What now, sir?" asked a Begnion Pegasus Knight.

"We find out about this Daein Liberation Army and whoever is leading it." said Jarod.

"...Right." said the Begnion Pegasus Knight.

The Daein Liberation Army later arrived at Terin in Morado after Micaiah had parted ways with Kurth, who wanted to return to his country. However, Issac and Izzy, the two mages, wanted to foresee the battle and not participate. However, not participating was not an option set by Micaiah. They had to participate and fight for Daein's freedom.

"I see." said Issac.

"Very well, then." said Izzy. "I'll fight. But I won't like a single bit of it."

"Alright then." said Micaiah. "Everyone, Begnion's pigs must die by our swords, magic, and other weapons!" she had called out. "Everyone, move forth, and leave no Begnion soldier alive!"

Everyone started fighting off the Begnion soldiers.

"So it is the Daein Liberation Army." said a Begnion soldier. "You there!" he yelled to a Begnion soldier with silver gauntlets. "Bring out the imprisoned children!"

"NO!" yelled a young boy. "SAVE ME!"

"Shut the hell up!" yelled the Begnion soldier with the silver gauntlets.

"Stupid!" yelled Fiona. "Plain stupid of you! You can't execute little children!"

"Silence, lady!" yelled a Begnion horse rider with an axe.

Fiona later ran away to get help.

As the fight continued on, the Begnion general controlling the army noticed Volug the wolf laguz. However, he didn't know what kind of creature he was, as he thought there were no wolf "sub-humans", according to him. Micaiah then pointed out that he was just an army dog.

"Army dog?" asked the Begnion general. "Nonsense!" he later yelled.

Volug, while transformed into his wolf state, snarled and growled, and then proceeded to maul the Begnion general's face right off. All the other soldiers sided with Begnion later fled for their lives, fearing that they would be the next people to get mauled by the "army dog".

Micaiah then went to chat with the local townsfolk about the Begnion army, apologizing that they had to witness such actions on the people. Then, Fiona found out who had saved her people. It was in fact Micaiah. As Fiona addressed herself as the daughter of the late Lanvega of the Four Riders, Micaiah was shocked that she was the General Lanvega's daughter.

"Yeah. After my dear father died, I assumed Morado's government." explained Fiona. "So…you are fighting off the soldiers of Begnion?" she later asked Micaiah.

"We are." said Cecily Fliesher. "Micaiah's leading us while I continue to lead the Laguz Confederation Legion. …My name is Cecily Fliesher, by the way."

"So you address yourself as the daughter of General Lanvega of the Four Riders?" asked Bri. "Before my father died…he knew countless tales of your father and the legacy of Tauroneo, Bryce, and Gawain."

"So your family knows my father?" asked Fiona to Bri.

"...Sort of." answered Bri.

"Come on, everyone." said Sothe. "No time for chit-chatting. Let's go."

"Sothe has a point." said Jill Fizzart.

Everyone left. Where they were headed next was a good question sought to be answered.
