CHAPTER 28

"To Mugill we set off!" yelled Skrimir. "For the glory of beorc and laguz victory!"

The fortresses of Flaguerre and Mugill are both key to the defense of the Begnion Empire's western parts of the country. They have figured many years in elite military plannings of the beast laguz nation of Gallia and the two beorc nations of Crimea and Daein. Fort Mugill was heavily protected by strong blades and thick walls, and the Laguz Alliance very much knew that well. Fort Mugill had to fall down if the alliance were to win the war.

At the Laguz Alliance camp, Ranulf mentioned that the fight in Mugill won't go as easy as the fight for Flaguerre did. "Beorc are all the same, they'll go down the same way." Skrimir called out. Ranulf said that Skrimir had to listen to his words just that one time. Ike then turned to Soren, asking what he thought of the whole ordeal. All Soren said was that Mugill's forces would have been warned by Flaguerre's surviving soldiers about the advance of them, the Greil Mercenaries and the Laguz Alliance.

"So…it's obvious." said Kamaria. "Skrimir, why not think about such things?"

"Beorc, do not mock me." said Skrimir. "Why should I bother with plans? And no beorc soldier would want to cower behind the walls of stone after being challenged to a battle!"

"What in the world?" asked Cecily after walking into the tent with a tray of black tea.

"Ah, Cecily." said Soren. "Come join us."

"I came to drop off tea for Ike." said Cecily. "But…what are we all talking about?"

"The battle for Mugill." said Skrimir. "But the beorc are always mocking me!"

"Alright, that's it!" yelled Ranulf.

Everyone attempted to keep down their cool while Ranulf was about to finish talking. However, wanting to leave the plans behind, Skrimir went outside to train.

"He's a piece of something." said Kamaria.

"I wonder what your brother's doing…" said Soren.

"Probably slacking off." said Kamaria as she went to check on Kito.

As everyone remained silent, Ranulf finished talking about the plans to attack Fort Mugill. However, something was going on outside.

"I will go see what it is." said Ike.

When Ike stepped outside, he saw Gatrie blushing right in front of Shinon, who was standing in front of him. Of course, it was about the ladies for Gatrie. But when Shinon saw the lady Gatrie was blushing over, Shinon was not at all pleased.

"Oh, hello, pussycat." said Shinon. "Do you want to play? Meow meow!"

"Hey!" yelled Lyre. "You're groping me! Stop! HISSSSSS!" she said as she hissed at Shinon.

"Hey!" yelled the tiger laguz Kyza. "What's going on here?!"

Shinon did nothing but remain silent. Lyre then ran away. But Kyza, who wasn't having any of it anymore, ran after her.

"Sub-Humans." said Shinon. "Filthy, hairy sub-humans."

"Hey, maybe one day, you'll learn to like the laguz." said Gatrie.

"Do you want to get slapped?!" asked Shinon in exclamation.

Gatrie later walked away.

"Huh…" Ike said. "Shinon hasn't improved yet on liking the laguz."

As Ike was walking over to his sister Mist, Mia stopped him along with Rhys and the cat laguz Felidae.

"Mr. Life of Crimea." said Felidae. "What's going on with you? Hangin' around, I suppose?"

"No way, Felidae! He wants to train with me!" yelled Mia.

"Are you all going to train?" asked Ike.

"Just about." said Mia. "Hey, want to join us?" asked Mia to Ike.

"I wish I could, but I'm going to go see my sister." said Ike.

"Always family is it?" asked Mia. "Haha!" she laughed as she walked away.

"Mia, stop it." yelled Rhys as he took a fake weak punch to Mia.

"Ha, fun…" said Ike.

Ike then went to see his sister Mist; she was busy finishing up her meal with Oscar. Ike, who was appreciating the meal's savory smell, asked the two if they cooked it together.

"I did." said Oscar. "Mist….doesn't exactly know the way to cook this kind of meal."

"I see." said Ike.

"Do you want some, Ike?" asked Mist.

"What is it?" asked Ike to his sister.

"Meat pie. Oscar said that the recipe belonged to his mother." said Mist.

"Let me try some." Ike answered. "How about a little piece."

Mist cut up a piece of Oscar's meat pie and gave it to Ike. ike then tried the meat pie, saying that it was savory, but a little sweet. Oscar laughed it off.

"Alright, you ready to go, Oscar?" asked Mist.

"Yes, I am ready to go." said Oscar.

"Great!" exclaimed Mist. "Brother!" yelled Mist to Ike.

"Alright." Ike responded. "I will gather the troops."

Ike then did what he said he was going to do.

At Fort Mugill, soldiers from Begnion were discussing how much trouble the laguz were causing. "I could slay one of those sub-humans if I could." said one Begnion soldier. All the soldiers later laughed it off. Then, all cloaked up, Mist, Mordecai, and Lethe were passing by the area. When the soldiers spotted them, they said they were "villagers" who were told to hand all food to the Begnion watchmen.

"We will happily take all of the food." said one of the Begnion soldiers.

"Guards! There's good food out here!" yelled another Begnion watchman.

"Yippie!" yelled an excited Begnion soldier.

As the soldiers were not looking, Mist, Lethe, and Mordecai all went back to the mercenaries. As the watchmen were eating the food, they all fell asleep.

"Alright, check one." Ike said. "The soldiers are all asleep. Now to defeat the rest of the guards and open the gates, as what Soren here mentioned."

"Yes." said Soren.

Everyone then went to defeat the rest of the Begnion soldiers. Ranulf and his troops were waiting for them on the other side of the gate where the Begnion soldiers were.

"OK, can't we just not defeat the soldiers?!" asked Kamaria.

"Hush, Kamaria!" yelled Lorriane. "We don't want to be loud…"

"Sorry, Lorraine..." said Kamaria. "I'm just excited to skewer more Begnion soldiers with my lance…"

"Well I am excited for what is about to come our way." said Shinon.

"Shinon, you're nothing but a bastard who was trash talking a laguz." said Kamaria disgustingly. "Why are you excited for what's co—oh, shit…" said Kamaria.

"I got this." said Shinon.

Shinon, after aiming with perfection, shot and killed a Begnion soldier by shooting it in the eye.

"Gah!" yelled a Begnion soldier witness.

Another Begnion soldier ran off to Shinon. Kamaria then soared up in the sky with her Pegasus, and swooped right back down. With her lance in a horizontal position, she swept all three of the remaining soldiers away.

"MOMMY!" yelled one Begnion soldier.

"Now where did she learn that at?" asked Shinon.

"Alright, Kamaria!" yelled Mist.

"I'll meet you on the other side." said Kamaria. "Kito! You listen to Ike." said Kamaria.

"Got it, Sis!" yelled Kito.

Kamaria later flew away.

As the battle was continuing on, reinforcements were called thanks to the efforts of the horns of Begnion. It was a female general as the captain of the army that time, and she was strict, racist and monstrous.

"Die, you miserable sub-humans! Stab, those furries with your swords and lances! Because the world doesn't need the laguz! We only need the humanoid Beorc in this world!" the female general shouted.

"Wow. She is super racist." said Lorriane.

"Hmph." said Samantha. "Let me deal with this." she proclaimed. "Bolganone!" she yelled.

The female general, as well as all surrounding soldiers around her, were burnt alive.

"Is that it?" asked Shinon. "Are we done?"

"Look! The gate!" yelled Cecily. "It opened!"

"Right." said Ike. "Come on, everyone!"

"...Phew…Ike is on time." said Ranulf who spotted the Greil Mercenaries. The Greil Mercenaries and the Laguz Alliance fought to another brave victory.
