Chapter 15

The Bat Family and the Avengers were zooming down the streets of Gotham to find the location where Patriot was last spotted.

" Ok Patriot was last spotted at the Ace Chemical lab." Oracle said through the comms.

Harley flinched at the mention of Ace chemical factory. Joker held his wife in a tight and loving embrace. "It's ok Pumpkin. We can just keep watch outside I'm sure." Joker said, calming his wife down.

He also didn't want to go back into that building. There were too many bad memories. Ever since his father pushed him into one of the chemical vats that turned him into the Joker he never wanted to go back to this place. (A/N: I'm changing Joker and Harley's origin a bit. Harley was already crazy when she met Joker.)

Short Flashback

Joker was taken to Arkham Asylum where he met the love of his life Harlean Quinnzel, a fellow inmate. Who went crazy because of all the illegal tests and experiments they did in Arkham. They soon became good friends and broke out of Arkham and later became The king and queen of Gotham.

Batman did everything he could to help them and some years later he managed to do it and even added two new members to the Bat Family. Joker always wanted to know why Batman always kept trying to help him.

When he found out that he was Bruce Wayne his Childhood Friend and neighbor. Everything made since. The Wayne family have always been good to him. They treated him as if he was a part of the family.

So when Bruce gave him and his wife a place to stay and a loving family they took the offer with no questions asked. Bruce had gotten them both such good Doctors and psychiatrists that helped them to become normal citizens again.

They've been living in Wayne Manor ever since. They are now known as Uncle Jack and Auntie Harley. They've never been happier. But now some patriotic villain was trying to hurt and ruin their beloved city and family.

End Of Flashback

Batman stopped the Batmobile and Redhood hopped off of his motorcycle. The Avengers and the rest of the Bat fam got out of the Batmobile and a Stark car. Apparently Tony left one of his cars in Gotham for such times like this.

"So this is the place?" Hawkeye asked, looking at the creepy looking building. "Is every place in Gotham creepy?" Sam asked, feeling uneasy about this mission.

Cassandra looked at each member of the Avengers faces and saw that they looked like they would rather be anywhere else but in Gotham right now. "You seem nervous." She said from behind Scott and Hope.

They both jumped at the girl's presence. "W-W-Where did you come from! Scott exclaimed nervously. Cass smiled. "From the shadows." She said in a calm tone.

She walked away from the scared couple and entered the building. Steve took another look at the building and tried to stop the girl from going inside. But a hand on his shoulder stopped him. He turned to see Batman standing next to him.

" Don't stop her. She knows what she's doing." He said. He knew his daughter was more than capable of handling anything thrown her way. She was a bat after all.

"She'll be fine." Batman said.

"Yeah Black Bat can handle herself. Besides she is not alone, Oracle is with her feeding her instructions on what she needs to do." Red Robin says.

"It's all a part of the plan. Black Bat and Oracle scope out the building, then they give us the signal and then we come in." NightWing explained.

Inside Ace Chemical Factory

BlackBat was running across the high beams as quickly and quietly as possible. Her job was to find out how many of Patriot's men were in the building as well as how many hostages they had.

"Ok BlackBat some of Patriot's men are right below where you are. They have a family of four tied up and at gunpoint." Oracle said typing away on the BatComputer faster than Sonic the Hedgehog.

"Thanks Oracle." She said before jumping down from the high platform she was on. She jumped over the railing and glided down until she stuck the landing.

The goons were surprised to see her there. " Where did she come from?" One goon said. Looking for any signs of a broken window and found none.

"It doesn't matter just get her!" A bigger goon said, running towards her with a steel pipe in hand. He let out a fierce battle cry and started swinging. Black Bat blocked every swing he threw at her. She grabbed an end of the pipe and used it to lift herself up enough to kick the man hard in the face.

He was out for the count. She then took said pipe and threw it. It hit another goon in the face causing him to fall on the floor unconscious as well.

Leaving only three goons left. "Hey Oracle, you almost finished hacking Patriot's Security yet?" Black bat asked while fighting the three remaining goons.

Back at the Cave you can see Oracle type away. She was almost done; she only had one more riddle to solve. "It turns out Patriot has the Riddler helping him. He's making me solve six riddles. I'm the fifth one now." She said through the comms.

"I'm sending Tony and Loki in to assist you. Patriot just sent ten more of his goons to the floor you're on." She said, Black Bat grunted in response. She was a bit busy fighting off the biggest goon out of the three she had originally.

Outside Ace Chemical

" Hey, why is she sending in Tony and Loki?" Sam asked curiously. Steve and Bucky wanted to know as well.

"They've been to Gotham before, so has King T'Challa and Thor. So it just makes sense to let them in first. Plus nobody would expect the Avengers to be here in Gotham." Oracle states.

The Avengers were quiet. They looked at their remaining teammates. Because Tony and Loki ran into the building like their lives depended on it. Needless to say they didn't want to be around when that conversation started.

"We're here BB." Tony said through the comms. "Good I don't think I can hold them off much longer." She said, Loki looked over the railing and spotted Black Bat she was surrounded by what looked to be fourteen goons.

He also saw the group of hostages. He then noticed that there was a small open big enough for him to fly down unnoticed. He would be able to untie the hostages and get them to safety while Iron Man and BlackBat handled the goons.

He Explained his plan to Tony and they soon put it into action. Loki flew down behind the hostages. While Iron Man flew in and blasted goons left and right with his repulsors.

"IS THAT IRONMAN! WHAT'S HE DOING HERE IN GOTHAM!" The biggest goon said.

"I DON'T KNOW AND I DON'T WANNA FIND OUT!" The goons started to make a run for it.

Loki had just finished untying the hostages and got them all to safety out of the building. As they were running out of the building a little girl with a brown teddy bear stopped and ran to the god of mischief and hugged him.

"Thank you for saving us, mister!" She shouted as she ran out of the building. Loki smiles. He still wasn't used to being considered a hero but he liked it nonetheless.

Back At The Manor

Duke, and Peter went to Natasha's room to keep her company. Peter connected his phone to the tv so they could watch the fight on the big screen. Alfred made popcorn for the three of them to enjoy.

" Aww you could just see Uncle Loki's heart melt after that little girl hugged him." Peter said through a mouthful of popcorn.

"Yeah, he's still not used to the whole hero thing huh, but he's getting there." Duke commented. Peter nods and Natasha listens to the boy's conversation in silence.

"This is my chance to learn more about Peter and Tony's relationship with The Batfamily!" She thought. The two boys started talking about which superheroes they liked better.

"Don't tell Papa, But I'm a huge Ironman fan." Peter said.

Duke gasped. " Betrayal!"

"I know,I know! I'm Bat, but Ironman is just so cool. Now I'm not saying Batman isn't, I just like Ironman." Peter said with his head down.

"Don't get me wrong I love Uncle Tony too,but if Bruce finds out he's going to be extra broody." Duke said, placing a hand on his little brother's shoulder.

"I mean the next thing you're gonna say is that you're an Avenger." Duke said laughing.

Peter paled at that. He hadn't exactly figured out how to tell his family that news yet.

Duke noticed Peter wasn't laughing along with him. " Why aren't you laughing?" He asked skeptically.

Peter could feel beads of sweat run down his forehead. He was nervously trying to think of a way to dodge the question. Natasha was finding this conversation more and more interesting. She started watching them instead of the fight on the tv.

"Bambi, please tell me you didn't join the Avengers?" Duke asked desperately.

"I didn't join the Avengers." He said confidently. " I was forced to join by S.H.I.E.L.D." Peter explains.

Natasha remembered when Furry gave them the mission to hunt down, capture, and investigate Spider-Man. They had him trapped in S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters for a week. Before they basically forced him on the team. Everyone was there except for Tony. He was always against Spider- Man being on the team.

She never understood why, but she has an idea of why, now.
