Donald charged towards the door in a rage. "He can't talk to Uncle Scrooge like that!"

Della grabbed him by the back of his collar. "Let him go, Don. He's had more earfuls from the three us today than anyone could take."

Scrooge sat back on the couch, dumbfounded. "His heart's not in it? What's that supposed to mean? He's done adventur'n? The lad must be daft!" Combined, his three great nephews were the best team their family had known. Equipped with the right tools and training, they'd be unstoppable. He couldn't let Huey give up on such an opportunity.

He got up and began pacing around the room. "And if Huey's out, Louie will follow. That boy won't hear a word I say for the rest of the year if Huey sticks around here to distract him. And Dewey… well, he's committed to flight school, but what's to prevent him from giving up our adventures if his brothers do? Gah! Bless me bagpipes. What's gotten into that boy?"

Della's eyes grew wide. "No, no, no, no, I'm sure that's not what he meant. He's just… going through a phase. That's what kids do, right? Louie went through one. I think it's only fair to allow him that."

Donald crossed his arms and grunted. "Going to prison for fraud is not a phase."

Della whacked him in the back of the head.

"No, he distinctly said that he isn't in it anymore. That has to mean he doesn't want to be part of the plan anymore." Scrooge quickened his pacing.

Della shook her head. "That's ridiculous, Uncle Scrooge. You made your little plan with them back when they were kids. You can't hold him to it." She tapped her metal foot against the ground. "You tried to talk him into archaeology again, didn't you?"

Scrooge pressed his fingers to his temple. "Well, you cannae blame me! He'd be fantastic at it! Can't you imagine? Dewey taking on the skies and traversing new territory while Huey researches and digs up new treasures. It's ideal for the both of them!"

Donald sank into his recliner, his brow bent. "And what about Louie?"

Scrooge heaved a sigh. "We weren't exactly planning for prison to be a part of his track record now, were we? No law school will want to take a boy with a history of fraud and bad grades through to graduation. I'm sure with a bit more time with him I can figure out how to put that mouth of his to good use. The business world would welcome him with open arms after a few years under my wing. They love the sharp ones."

Della sighed. "Maybe that's part of the problem. Huey won't go anywhere until he knows Louie will be happy."

"Well of course he'll be happy! He'll be with me, surrounded by treasure! What more could that boy want? Besides, it's right up his alley." Scrooge threw up his hands and plopped back onto the couch. "These boys of yours will be the death of me, Della."

Donald groaned. "Oh brother! We should have waited to give the boys the key to the RV."

Della looked out the window just in time to see Dewey and Louie slipping out of the garage to look for their brother. "What's done is done. Maybe some time together will be good for them. I'll ask Dewey to try and talk some sense into Huey while they're gone. He may have better luck than we've had." She elbowed Donald in the ribs. "Besides, this means you get to take that much needed vacation."
