It was another day in art class at Gwen's collage learning more about art.
"And that is why the ancient Egyptians painted the walls in the tombs because they were a point of contact between the dead and the living." The professor explained as he wrote on the chalkboard.
Gwen took notes of the lesson.
"Now then students, here's your next assignment. I want you all to create your own Egyptian style art like the wall paintings on a canvas for next week's Egyptian Gallery." The professor announced.
Some of the students chattered while Gwen thought of an idea of how to do her assignment.
"Now then, class is dismissed." The professor announced.
Everybody leaves the classroom. Gwen teleports back to the cottage and goes up to her room. She grabs one of her National Geographic magazines with Egypt on the front cover. She looks at pictures of the capital city Cairo and where to go to do her assignment. After getting a location in mind, Gwen started packing her satchel and art supplies.
Gwen raises her ink pen, knowing her friends were going to stowaway with her once again.
"Three… two… one." Gwen counted down then tapped her ink pen.
"SURPRISE!" All three cups exclaimed and jumped on her shoulders.
They appear in an alleyway in the city of Cairo.
"Okay girlfriend, where are we in this desert?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"Guys, welcome to Egypt. We're in the capital city Cairo." Gwen announced.
"Cairo, Egypt?" Cuphead and Mugman asked at once.
"Yep. With the pyramids, temples and tombs. Especially mummies." Gwen announced.
"Pyramids?" Cuphead asked.
"Temples and tombs?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"M-M-M-Mummies?" Mugman fearfully asked.
"My next assignment involves making an Egyptian artwork. So, I thought I'd come here and see real wall paintings in a tomb." Gwen explained.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Cuphead asked excitedly.
"Easy Cuphead, we need to find a tour group heading to one of the ancient tombs." Gwen said.
"Like those folks over there?" Mugman pointed.
The group look and notice a group of tourists boarding a bus.
"Let's see where they're going." Ms. Chalice said.
The group head over to the bus stop and notice a sign that says, "Tomb of Semerkhet Tours Today!"
"Hey, this is going to an ancient tomb!" Cuphead said.
"Great! Let's get on the bus!" Mugman said.
They try to climb on the bus, but the bus driver stops them.
"Sorry! The bus is full!" The bus driver said rudely and closed the door.
The bus drives off, leaving the group behind.
"UGH! These humans are so rude!" Ms. Chalice angrily exclaimed.
"What do we do now?" Mugman asked.
Gwen smiled smugly, knowing what to do.
"Not to worry guys, I came prepared." Gwen said.
She patted her satchel.
"Okay buddy, you can come out now." Gwen called.
Just then, her magic carpet Cerulean Bolt flew out of her satchel.
"Oh yeah! We can just fly to the tomb!" Cuphead said.
"Let's go then." Gwen said as she hopped on.
The cups hopped on, and Cerulean Bolt flew off into the sky.
"Follow that bus." Gwen ordered.
Cerulean Bolt flew above the bus across the Egyptian desert until they caught sight of the pyramids and the Statue of the Sphinx.
"Oooh!" The group exclaimed.
"Hey, where's that guy's nose?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"No one knows Chalice. No one knows." Gwen answered.
Both Cuphead and Mugman laugh.
"No one 'nose'!" Cuphead joked.
"Yeah! Good one Gwen!" Mugman added.
Gwen smiled and shook her head.
"There they are!" Gwen said, catching sight of the bus coming to a stop.
Cerulean Bolt lands next to the bus as everyone gets off. The bus driver is shocked to see the group.
"Jokes on you jerk! We had our own ride!" Ms. Chalice taunted.
Both cups blew raspberries at him.
"Enough guys, let's go." Gwen said.
The group join the other tourists and meet the tour guide.
"Welcome everyone to the Tomb of Semerkhet! The human ally of Horus!" The tour guide announced.
"Who's Horus?" Cuphead asked.
"Horus was the Egyptian God of kingship, healing, the sun and sky." Gwen whispered.
"As most of you know, Horus protected Egypt from the evil god of chaos Set. But alas, Set stole his precious Eye in attempt to use it to take over the world. But luckily, Horus was able to banish Set, but his Eye had not been recovered and is still missing to this day." The tour guide told the story.
"Oh wow." Mugman said.
"He sounds like an Egyptian devil." Cuphead added.
"In a way, yes." Gwen agreed.
"It is said that if Set ever got a hold of the Eye, he would be released from his imprisonment and finish what he started. But it's just a myth, like that'll ever happen." The tour guide said and laughed.
The tourists laugh except one local girl who kept a stone face.
"Now, then let's get on with the tour!" The tour guide announced.
The group follow the tour guide into an opening in one of the pyramids. They follow the tour guide down the tunnels until they reach a room where artifacts and a giant tomb resided.
"Woah!" The group exclaimed.
"Alright everyone! Feel free to look around but please, don't touch or take anything! We must respect these ancient relics!" The tour guide said.
Gwen sets up her art equipment and gets to work with her art project.
"Hey Gwen? We wanna look around." Cuphead said.
"Alright guys, but don't take anything. Especially you Chalice!" Gwen instructed.
"Aw come on girlfriend." Ms. Chalice said innocently.
"I mean it Chalice. We don't wanna anger these people." Gwen warned.
"Okay! Okay!" Ms. Chalice said.
The cups look around the tomb at the artifacts of treasure, statues and paintings while Gwen worked on her artwork.
While Gwen was painting, she noticed the local girl looking around and pushing on the walls for something. She brushed it off, minding her business and continued her work.
Meanwhile, Ms. Chalice wanders off and looks at the beautiful wall paintings. She sighed and leaned against a wall, but to her surprise, it swung open, revealing a secret hidden room.
"Wow! A hidden room!" Ms. Chalice said excitedly.
Ms. Chalice looked around until she noticed a beautiful golden amulet displayed on a pedestal that looked like an Egyptian eye.
"Woah! A golden necklace!" Ms. Chalice said fascinated.
Ms. Chalice approached the amulet, reeled in by its beauty. Without a second thought, she takes the amulet and stuffed it in her pocket.
"Eh, one missing necklace won't hurt anyone." Ms. Chalice said.
She leaves the secret room, closes the door and quietly rejoined the tourists. Gwen noticed an older gentleman looking around for something too.
"Odd." Gwen said to herself.
Just then the gentleman approached Gwen.
"Quite an artist you are my dear." The gentleman complimented in a British voice.
"Oh, thank you. It's for a college assignment." Gwen explained.
"Ah. You desire to be an artist historian?" The gentleman asked.
"Not exactly. I'm studying to be a professional artist and cartoonist." Gwen answered.
"Well, good for you." The gentleman complimented.
"Who are you?" Gwen asked.
"I am Barnaby Chapman. I am a collector, dealer and trader of fine antiques." Barnaby introduced himself.
"Gwendolyn Mae Emmons. Everyone calls me Gwen." Gwen introduced.
"Well Gwen, you came at a good time. This tomb was recently discovered and opened. People are fascinated with the story of Horus and Set." Barnaby said.
"Yeah, that old myth? It's just a legend though." Gwen said.
"That's what everybody thinks Gwen. But nobody has yet found the so-called Eye of Horus. There's always some truth behind a myth you know." Barnaby said.
"Really? I guess that explains some things." Gwen said, thinking about it.
"Oh yes. But who knows? Maybe the Eye will be found someday." Barnaby said.
"Maybe." Gwen somewhat agreed.
"Alright everyone! That concludes our tour! It's time to head back to Cairo!" The tour guide announced.
"Well, it was wonderful meeting you Gwen. Here's my card if you're interested in my antiques." Barnaby said as he handed Gwen a business card.
"Oh, thank you sir." Gwen thanked.
Gwen rejoins her friends and leave the tomb. Before Gwen summoned her magic carpet, she is approached by the local girl.
"Oh, hello." Gwen greeted.
"Do not trust that man." The local girl warned.
"Why?" Gwen asked.
"SHH!" The local girl shushed.
The local girl leaves and joins the other tourists on the bus.
"That was odd." Gwen said.
"What man did she mean?" Cuphead asked.
"Oh, was it that old man in the suit you were chatting with?" Mugman asked.
"Yeah. Barnaby Chapman. He's a collector, dealer and trader of fine antiques. He seemed pretty nice." Gwen answered.
"Well, I'm starved. Let's go see what these Egyptians eat here." Ms. Chalice said.
"Okay, let's head back to Cairo to eat, explore then we'll go home." Gwen said.
She summoned Cerulean Bolt and flew the group back to Cairo. That evening, they stop at a local restaurant and order hawashi, stuffed pita pockets with beef and spices along with baklava, a layered pastry for dessert.
"Mmm! This is so good!" Ms. Chalice complimented.
"Yeah, this Egyptian food is awesome!" Cuphead agreed.
"Well, I'm glad you all enjoyed coming to Egypt with me." Gwen said.
Unknown to the group, the storm clouds were forming and a wind started blowing, making the locals nervous and head inside various buildings. The local girl quickly enters the restaurant and seats at a lone table.
Mugman raised his glass of root beer.
"A toast to a new adventure together!" Mugman said.
The group clinked their glasses and started drinking. Suddenly, they started spitting it out along with the other patrons. Mugman realized his mistake of drinking in one gulp too late and started vomiting in a nearby garbage can.
"Ew! This isn't root beer!" Ms. Chalice exclaimed.
"What is this icky red stuff?!" Cuphead asked, spitting out his drink.
Gwen took a closer look at their drinks, all turned red.
"Guys? It's blood!" Gwen exclaimed.
"BLOOD?!" Mugman fearfully exclaimed as he finished vomiting.
The patrons started panicking as they noticed their glasses were also filled with blood.
Gwen remembered something and pulled out a book about Egypt and turned to a specific page.
"With the staff that is in my hands I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink, and the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water." Gwen read out loud.
"What do you mean?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"Guys, this is one of the ten plagues that happened." Gwen nervously said.
"Ten plagues?" Cuphead asked.
"Yes. Ten disasters caused by a man named Moses to threaten the Pharoah into releasing the Hebrews, the pharaoh's slaves." Gwen explained.
"There's gonna be nine more?" Mugman asked nervously.
"Yes. And they're all very bad. And the last one is the worst of them all." Gwen said.
"What's the last plague?" Cuphead asked.
"The death of the firstborn." Gwen nervously answered.
All the cup's eyes widened in horror.
"Death of the firstborn?!" All cups exclaimed.
"We gotta stop this! Gwen do something!" Mugman exclaimed.
"I can't! I don't know how or what caused this!" Gwen argued.
Suddenly, a loud thundering noise was heard and fireballs of hail started falling from the sky, setting buildings on fire. Ms. Chalice falls over, with the Eye falling out of her pocket. The local girl notices this and gasped while Ms. Chalice quickly stuffed it back in her pocket.
"The chalice. She has the Eye!" The local girl quietly said to herself.
"We gotta get outta here!" Cuphead exclaimed.
"Come on guys!" Gwen shouted.
The group run for their lives out of the restaurant. Just then, they notice locusts, flies, lice and frogs invading Cairo. Some of the locals started getting boils on their bodies. They notice livestock suddenly dying.
"Guys! The other plagues are happening! We need to find somewhere safe!" Gwen exclaimed.
They run to a nearby abandoned building and run down into the basement to take shelter for the moment.
The group sigh of relief.
"That was close!" Mugman said.
"Yeah, I thought we were dead!" Cuphead agreed.
Just then a hand grabbed Gwen. The local girl emerged from the dark and held a dagger to Gwen's neck.
"Hey!" Gwen yelled.
"You! Hand the Eye over now or she dies!" The local girl demanded Ms. Chalice.
"What are you talking about? We don't have any eye!" Gwen yelled.
"Silence! I saw it on her! She started the chaos of Set! The plagues are killing my people!" The local girl yelled angrily.
"How do you know that?" Gwen asked.
"Why don't you ask your friend?" The local girl asked, knowing Gwen wouldn't believe her.
The cups and Gwen glared at Ms. Chalice.
"Chalice, did you take something from the tomb?" Gwen asked suspiciously.
"Uh…" Ms. Chalice said as she chuckled nervously.
"Chalice! Come clean!" Mugman angrily demanded.
"Yeah! People are sufferin'! We're sufferin'!" Cuphead agreed.
Ms. Chalice sighed, having no choice. She pulled the Eye amulet from her pocket. Gwen groaned and facepalmed at her disobedience.
"Here. Just don't kill our friend." Ms. Chalice said.
The local girl prepared to take the Eye until Gwen shapeshifted into her celestial form and attacked the girl with a celestial beam, knocking her to the ground.
Cuphead quickly takes the girl's dagger.
"Get up!" Gwen yelled and pointed her ink pen at her.
The local girl fearfully got up on her feet as Gwen backed her against the wall.
"W-W-W-What are you?!" The local girl fearfully asked.
"I'm a human gifted with magic and cosmic powers of the astral plane! I have questions and if you wanna see tomorrow, you're gonna answer them!" Gwen angrily said.
"Whatever you want to know!" The local girl fearfully exclaimed.
"First question, who are you?!" Gwen asked.
"Habibah Nasser! I'm an assistant curator at the Egyptian Museum!" Habibah fearfully introduced herself.
"Second question, why is this Eye amulet important to you?" Gwen asked.
"Don't you understand? That is the Eye of Horus of legend she found and stole it from the tomb! If that doesn't get restored to Horus, our world is doomed!" Habibah angrily exclaimed.
"Third question, you actually believe that fairy tale?" Gwen asked.
"It is no fairy tale! You don't understand how serious this is! If we are to stop the chaos and save our world, we must go to the Temple of Horus, restore the eye, and Horus will defeat Set and stop the chaos for good!" Habibah answered impatiently.
"Fourth question, do you know how to get to the Temple of Horus?" Gwen asked.
"Yes, I can take you there. You must help me with your magic and cosmic powers." Habibah said.
"Fifth question, if we help you restore the Eye to Horus, you'll spare me and my friends?" Gwen asked.
"Yes. Now, I have a question. Who are you people?" Habibah asked.
"Gwendolyn Mae Emmons. Call me Gwen." Gwen introduced herself.
"Gwen." Habibah said, learning her name.
"And these are my best friends Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice." Gwen introduced her friends.
Mugman waved nervously at Habibah.
"You're not from here. And you have cups for heads?" Habibah asked.
"Yep!" Cuphead said as he grabbed his handle and pulled his head off and showed her.
Habibah gasped shockingly as Cuphead put his head back on his body.
"Alright, we must get going. Time is of the essence." Habibah said.
"Lead the way." Gwen said as she transformed back into her normal form.
The group head outside, only to discover it was very dark to see.
"It's too dark out here!" Cuphead complained.
"The ninth plague! Total darkness! We're running out of time!" Gwen exclaimed.
"How are we gonna see where we're going?" Mugman asked.
"Leave that part to me." Gwen said, getting an idea.
She transformed back into her celestial form, making her glow bright.
"Testify girlfriend!" Ms. Chalice complimented.
"Perfect. Do you have that flying carpet of yours?" Habibah asked.
"Oh, you know about him?" Gwen asked.
"I saw you all fly on it earlier today. That's why I've been following you since the tour." Habibah confessed.
Gwen summoned Cerulean Bolt, the group hop on and fly in the direction Habibah pointed out.
"We need to head north." Habibah said.
The group fly over the desert to the temple. Ms. Chalice started to feel guilty for her actions.
"Hey guys?" Ms. Chalice asked.
The group look at her.
"I'm sorry I caused all this. I just couldn't control myself." Ms. Chalice apologized.
"Chalice, if you wanted a souvenir, we could've gone to the gift shop." Gwen said.
"I know. But old habits die hard." Ms. Chalice said.
"We have a wonderful gift shop you can buy souvenirs from. Just don't steal anything or else they will chop your hands off." Habibah warned.
"I won't. I promise." Ms. Chalice promised.
"Hey, is that it over there?" Mugman asked and pointed.
The group looked and noticed they were approaching a large ancient temple. They notice a hawk symbol above the entrance.
"This is it! The Temple of Horus." Habibah confirmed.
Cerulean Bolt lands at the entrance and they hop off.
"Okay, lead the way so we can end this." Gwen said.
Habibah nodded and led the group while Gwen glowed for light.
"Ooh creepy." Cuphead said, looking at the wall paintings along the tunnel.
"Yeah. These wall paintings tell the histories and stories of ancient Egypt." Gwen explained.
"Yes. They tell our history about the pharaohs and gods." Habibah said.
"I learned about that in class earlier." Gwen said.
"Hey, what's that up ahead?" Mugman asked pointing.
The group arrives in the main room where a large statue of the god Horus stood tall.
"Wow, this is it." Cuphead said, astounded by the size.
"So, what now?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"Now, we put the Eye into Horus's eye socket." Habibah answered.
"But how? It's so big and tall." Cuphead asked.
"We'll have to fly up there and put it in the eye socket." Gwen answered.
"No problem." Ms. Chalice said, grabbing the Eye from her pocket.
Ms. Chalice shapeshifted into her ghost form, shocking Habibah.
"S-S-S-She's a spirit?" Habibah asked.
"It's a long story." Gwen answered.
Ms. Chalice flies up to the statue's face.
"Alright, I started this mess. Now, I'm ending it." Ms. Chalice said bravely.
But before Ms. Chalice could put the Eye back, a gunshot was heard, and a bullet knocked the Eye out of her hand. The amulet fell into a stranger's hand.
"We have company!" Habibah yelled as she pulled her dagger out.
The stranger stepped out of the shadows, revealing himself as Barnaby Chapman.
"That's right Habibah. I knew there was something special about that American artist. And those strange children with cups on their bodies." Barnaby said.
Gwen's eyes widened, realizing Habibah was right about Barnaby.
"Well done my dear. You helped me find the Eye so I can please my master." Barnaby taunted Gwen.
"Your master?" Gwen asked, confused.
"Yes, my dear. I am a Setian. I belong to a cult who worships Set." Barnaby revealed.
"What's a seitan?" Mugman asked.
"We worship our true god Set. With this eye, he will have the power to recreate our world." Barnaby answered.
"I thought that was the Devil's thing." Cuphead said.
"Technically yes but he want's Gwen's inkwell and powers." Ms. Chalice pointed out.
"What?" Habibah asked shockingly.
"Guys, can we not talk about this?" Gwen sternly asked.
"Now, then…" Barnaby said as he turned his head up and held up the eye.
"Master, I have the Eye! Take it and recreate this world and give me the ultimate powers of the gods!" Barnaby yelled.
Wind started blowing in the temple and out of nowhere, a giant humanoid god with a jackal for a head appeared with glowing eyes swiped the Eye.
"W-W-W-W-Who's that big dog?" Mugman asked fearfully.
"It is Set, the god of chaos and discord." Habibah answered.
Set looked at Barnaby with an evil grin and raised his hand. Suddenly, he blasted Barnaby with a glowing blast, disintegrating him. The group gasped in horror. Set prepared to take over the world when Gwen still in her celestial form tried attacking Set.
"You leave our world alone!" Gwen yelled as she shot celestial beams at Set.
Set laughed at her and attempted to crush her with his fist until Cuphead and Mugman shoved her out of the way in time.
"Gwen! He could've killed you!" Mugman scolded.
"Well how was I to know how to take on a god of chaos?!" Gwen snapped.
"Guys! We need to get better help!" Ms. Chalice said.
"From who?" Cuphead asked.
Gwen thought for a moment and winced at her idea.
"What's wrong?" Habibah asked.
"There is… one person. And he's the one I hate more than anyone in the world." Gwen answered.
"Gwen, I know who you're thinking, but how do we convince him to come kick Set's butt? He's gonna be really furious at us and I do not wanna spend another evening cleaning his filthy realm!" Cuphead asked and argued.
"I know Cuphead. Which is why we're gonna trick him into coming here without getting ourselves in trouble again." Gwen said.
"Who are you talking about?" Habibah asked impatiently.
"We know a demon from the world where we're from." Gwen answered.
The group gather around, and Gwen gets out a piece of paper and magically writes a letter. Cuphead gives some suggestions as he snickered. Once she finished the letter, she magically sets it on fire and made it disappear.
"Okay, now what?" Mugman asked.
"Now, we hide!" Gwen answered.
"I know the perfect hiding spot." Habibah said, having an idea.
The group take cover in a hidden chamber in the wall with a swinging door. Gwen magically made a visual hole to watch while avoided being detected.
Out of nowhere, there was a giant puff of smoke and the Devil in his titan size appeared before Set, seething with anger.
Set was shocked to see the giant Devil appear before him.
"SET! YOU DARE TO TAKE OVER THE HUMAN WORLD?!" The Devil roared.
Set said nothing until he laughed at the Devil.
"This world is MINE! No second-rate chaos faker is gonna take over the human world! That's my job!" The Devil yelled.
Habibah gasped in horror at the size of the Devil.
"Who is this demon?" Habibah quietly asked.
"He's the Devil. He rules the underworld where we're from." Gwen answered.
"Why do you hate him so much? And why is he of great concern to you?" Habibah asked.
"We'll fill you in." Cuphead said.
While Cuphead explained to Habibah Gwen's situation with the Devil, Set tries to fight the Devil with his powers. The Devil pointed his pitchfork at Set and blew a fire blast at him, knocking Set to the ground.
"That's an amazing story. No wonder he's after you." Habibah said, fascinated.
"Yeah, but my marriage to my fiancé and the wedding vow ritual is the only way I'll be free of him for good." Gwen explained.
"Yep, and we're gonna make sure of that." Cuphead agreed as he wrapped his arm around Gwen.
"Guys? I don't mean to interrupt but…!" Mugman said and he pointed.
The group looked and noticed the Devil struggled to defeat Set and is knocked down by Set's chaotic blast.
"Ugh! That big jerk can't defeat the other big jerk!" Ms. Chalice groaned.
"What's Set's Achilles heel? How do we weaken him?" Gwen asked.
"Look on his chest. There's the Eye." Habibah said and pointed.
The group looked and noticed the Eye imbedded in Set's chest.
"Without the Eye, he is nothing. We must remove it somehow. Gwen, can you do that?" Habibah asked.
"I can try." Gwen said.
Gwen pointed her ink pen at Set's chest. She uses telekinesis on the Eye and tries to remove it.
"Come on Gwen! You can do it!" Cuphead encouraged her.
"I'm trying! I need more strength!" Gwen groaned.
Ms. Chalice shapeshifted into her ghost form and flew out of the secret chamber up to Set's chest.
"Chalice! No!" Mugman exclaimed.
Ms. Chalice grabbed the Eye and along with Gwen's telekinesis to pull it off.
After a few seconds, their combined strength and they both managed to pry the Eye off Set's chest. Ms. Chalice flew with the Eye while dodging Set's chaotic blasts. She manages to fly up to the Horus statue and up to his face.
"Horus, I think this belongs to you!" Ms. Chalice said as she quickly placed the Eye into the empty socket.
Suddenly, both eyes started glowing, making Ms. Chalice retreat back to the secret chamber and transformed back into her living form.
"Great work Chalice!" Gwen said, hugging her.
"Way to go!" Cuphead joined in along with Mugman.
The group looked at Habibah.
"Wonderful. You amended your mistake. Thank you." Habibah thanked.
"Aw shucks." Ms. Chalice said.
"Guys! Look!" Mugman exclaimed and pointed.
The statue of Horus suddenly came to life and Horus held up his large hands and shot beams at Set, injuring him severely. Then, he magically opens a large bottomless pit. Finally, Horus shot a large beam blast at Set, sending him falling down the bottomless pit. Horus magically closes the bottomless pit and seals it permanently.
"What just happened?" Mugman asked.
"Horus has banished Set back to his imprisonment forever this time." Habibah answered happily.
Horus turned to the Devil as he stood on his feet with his pitchfork. Horus gave a glare at the Devil.
"Ugh! Fine! I'll go! But don't get too comfortable Horus! This world will be mine when I marry the mortal girl who carries the ultimate magic and cosmic power and she'll be under my control to do my bidding and conquer this world!" The Devil angrily declared.
The Devil tapped his pitchfork and disappeared back to Inkwell Hell.
Horus raised his hands and released magic over Egypt. The total darkness faded away, the fireballs of hail stopped falling, the locusts, flies, lice and frogs were driven away, the people's boils were disappearing, and the dying livestock were coming back to life. The destroyed buildings were restored back to normal. And the final plague never happened.
The group sighed of relief, the chaotic battle finally over.
"Finally, it's over!" Mugman said happily.
"Yes, thank you all for your help." Habibah thanked.
"No problem. It's the least we could do." Gwen said.
Just then, they felt rumbling, and the group felt something lift them up and out of the secret chamber. The group gasped, realizing Horus lifted them out of the secret chamber in his large hand. He looked at the group and nodded at them. Habibah bowed down to Horus.
"Bow to him! Don't be rude to king of the gods!" Habibah whispered-yelled.
The group quickly complies and bow down to Horus.
Horus looked at Ms. Chalice, knowing she stole the Eye.
"Oh, uh…" Ms. Chalice said nervously.
"Chalice! Apologize!" Gwen quietly scolded.
Ms. Chalice cleared her throat.
"Okay, I did find your eye, but I should've considered returning it to you instead of keeping it for myself. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I'm sorry." Ms. Chalice apologized.
Horus grinned and nodded, forgiving her. Then he turned his attention to Gwen.
"Thank you for saving our world." Gwen thanked, unsure what he was thinking.
Horus lowered his hand down to the ground, the group get off, but Horus restrained Gwen. Then he raised his hand holding her up at the sun and the sunlight with magical spores shone on Gwen, making her flinch.
"Uh, what's happening?" Gwen asked nervously.
Suddenly Gwen was beamed away, and Horus disappeared.
"GWEN!" All three cups yelled fearfully.
"Oh! I think the gods have whisked her away to heaven!" Habibah exclaimed.
"Oh no! She's dead!" Ms. Chalice exclaimed as she and the cups had tears.
"No, she isn't dead! The gods want an audience with her!" Habibah corrected them.
"Oh…" All three cups said as they wiped their tears.
A few moments later, Gwen is beamed back down to the ground. Her body is glowing various colors until they faded. Gwen opened her eyes, feeling drowsy.
"Woah! What just happened?" Cuphead asked.
"I don't know." Gwen said, trying to get up.
"Where were you taken? What did you see? Try to remember." Habibah asked.
Gwen tried to think until she remembered something.
"Oh! I remember being in somewhere in the sky on a cloud. I assumed it was Heaven until I found myself surrounded by about 12 giant gods, some of them with animals with heads including Horus. Anyway, I wanted to ask why I was brought there when suddenly their eyes started glowing and shot various colored beams at me and everything was bright and then I guess I passed out and woke up here." Gwen said, recapping the last memories.
"Wow, that's crazy." Mugman said, amazed.
"So, you weren't dead?" Ms. Chalice asked.
"I don't think so. It all felt so real." Gwen said.
"I think the gods did something to you. But I don't know what it is." Habibah said.
"I don't know either." Gwen said.
The cups help Gwen on her feet. After regaining her composure, the group hop on Cerulean Bolt and fly back to Cairo. They are relieved that everything was returned to normal, and the people have no memory of what just happened. They enter the Egyptian museum where Habibah worked. They shop at the gift shop for souvenirs.
They purchased small trinkets of pyramids, royal Nemes, coffins with mummies along with Egyptian god action figures. Cuphead and Mugman got action figures of the Egyptian gods while Ms. Chalice got a beautiful Egyptian Eye amulet replica of her own.
Gwen picked up a paper listing the 12 elements. Habibah notices the list.
"Oh, that's the 12 elements. Water, fire, earth, air, ice, plant, lightning, time, force, light, dark and spirit." Habibah explained.
"Wow, cool. They make up our world." Gwen said, fascinated as she put the chart in her satchel.
The group prepare to head home when Habibah approached them.
"Thank you all for your help." Habibah thanked.
Gwen hugged Habibah.
"You're welcome, Habibah." Gwen said.
"Please come visit again. I'd love to see the Inkwell Isles someday." Habibah said.
"Of course." Gwen said as she handed Habibah her business card.
Gwen and the cups teleported back home to the cottage and rest on the couch.
"That was an adventure!" Cuphead said.
"Yeah, a deadly one." Mugman said.
"Well, I'm glad things are back to normal." Ms. Chalice said.
"For now, guys. Until next time." Gwen said.
"Yeah!" All three cups agreed.
At the university, Gwen turned in her Egyptian art assignment along with her fellow classmates.
After returning home, Gwen decided to go on her usual walk in the woods. After stopping to catch her breath, she placed her hand on a pine tree when suddenly, plants started growing on the tree, shocking her.
"What the?!" Gwen exclaimed.
She thought until she brushed it off.
"Must've been my cosmic powers." Gwen said in denial.
She continued walking when she noticed a fox trapped under a huge boulder.
"Oh, you poor thing! I'll help you!" Gwen exclaimed.
Gwen goes up to the boulder to push it. Suddenly, the boulder rolled easily, to her shock. She pondered and decided to try something. She puts her hands below the boulder and lifted it up with no struggle.
"What the?! I'm stronger now?!" Gwen exclaimed.
The fox is freed and looked at Gwen, thanking her and ran off.
She put the boulder down.
"Okay, calm down. This has to be a coincidence." Gwen said, trying to calm down.
Gwen continued down the trail. She sweated a little until she waved her hands to cool off when suddenly, she made the wind blow in the trees.
"Wind?!" Gwen exclaimed.
Feeling more frightened, she ran away in the darkest part of the woods when suddenly, beams of light shot through her hands, lighting her way.
"Light?!" Gwen exclaimed.
Gwen ran back the way she came back to the woods when suddenly, a dark shadow from her own shadow covered a section of the forest.
"Dark?!" Gwen exclaimed.
She kept running away into the forest when until she felt tired and sat down on the ground to rest.
"What is going on? Why am I experiencing new powers?" Gwen asked as she pounded the ground.
Suddenly, the ground started shaking and some of the ground rose up with rocks.
"Oh! Earth?!" Gwen exclaimed.
Gwen quickly got up and backed away from the newly formed rocks. Gwen felt a little thirsty and went to the nearby creek. She cupped her hands to scoop water when suddenly, water formed in her hand.
"Oh no. Water too?" Gwen asked shockingly.
She nervously sipped the water from her hands. Gwen bent down to the creek and touched it, only for it to freeze up quickly.
"Ice?!" Gwen exclaimed.
Gwen wanted to unfreeze the creek until fire was shot from her hands, thawing the frozen creek.
"Fire?! Like the Devil?!" Gwen exclaimed.
Now more frightened, Gwen ran further into the forest until she encountered the bus stop. Gwen took a few deep breaths and tried to sit down when suddenly, she accidentally shot a lightning bolt from her hand, destroying the bench.
"Oh! Lightning too?!" Gwen asked.
Gwen panicked once again.
"Oh! If only I could go back in time and fix this!" Gwen exclaimed.
Suddenly, her hands glowed and the broken bench started glowing and started reversing itself back to the state it was before she accidentally broken it until it stopped glowing, restoring it back to normal.
"What did I just do? Control time?!" Gwen asked.
Gwen was in an emotional turmoil and ran away back into the forest. She reached the area where Mount Mugman to think. She paced back and forth, wondering why she was experiencing new powers.
Suddenly, she unintentionally lifted rocks off the ground with her mind and circled in the air.
"Oh! Why is this happening to me?! What's going on?!" Gwen asked herself.
Just then, she remembered something. She returned home, opened her satchel and pulled out the 12 elements chart and read through them. Each element matched up with her new abilities.
"Oh no… I have those 12 elements flowing through me. The last one was spirit." Gwen said, figuring it out.
She remembered in Egypt when she was whisked away by the gods and the beams shot into her. At that moment she realized the Egyptian gods gifted her with their combined powers into her.
"They gave me their elemental gifts. But why?" Gwen asked herself.
Gwen thought again until she remembered what the Devil said to Horus about marrying her to take over the human world.
"Oh… they gave me their gifts to fight the Devil so the Devil can't take over the two worlds?" Gwen asked.
Gwen was in complete shock, now becoming even more powerful than ever. She teleported back home into her bedroom, cringing on her bed and more confused.
"What am I gonna do? I need help." Gwen said panicking.
Gwen laid in bed, trying to calm down and sleep it off. With her new abilities, Gwen needed to find out how she must control them and to use them wisely without destroying anything or anyone.
