Chapter 23

Tsuma and Tsunade sit in the kitchen the night before the Chunin Exams. "Do you think they are ready for the Chunin Exams?" Tsunade asks the feral woman.

"No, not all of them are ready for the ranking of Chunin. But this will do them some good to see what it will take to become Chunin." Tsuma tells her.

"That is true." Tsunade agrees as she takes a drink of her tea. "I just hope they just make it past the second round alive." She tells the other woman with a sigh as the second round has always been the deadliest past of the Chunin Exams.

"I know. We have a lot to lose tomorrow." Tsuma tells her as she takes her own drink from her tea. Holding back the tears she will shed later tonight when she is alone.

Morning of the Chunin Exams

Naruto woke up extra early to have sometime with his Grandpa and uncle. "Naruto this is like going into battle when you were in Asgard. Just remember there might not be life and death in some of the round of the Chunin Exam. But go in expecting it though." Thor told him as Loki nodded his head in agreement.

"For you never know what to expect. So go in expecting the unexpected during these exams." Loki told him as he places his left hand on Naruto's right shoulder squeezing it gently.

"I will." Naruto agrees with a smile at his family. "I need to wake up Kiba or we are going to be missing the Exams." He said with a chuckle as he is nervous as hell. As this time there is more weighing on his shoulders than last time. He has Kiba, Hinata, and Akamaru to worry about.

Running down the hallway. Naruto darts into Kiba's room drop kicking the boy out of his bed. As Akamaru had woken up and jumped out of bed already.

"WHAT THE HELL NARUTO!" Screams Kiba as he is laying half out of bed with his face bared into his carpet face first. And his ass still on the bed.

Naruto chuckles. "You never wake up when we try the normal way to wake you. Soo…..I figure why the hell not and drop kick your ass out of bed." He told him snickering. While Akamaru barks in agreement.

"Trader." Kiba barks out at Akamaru as he pushes himself up off the floor as he pulls his legs under himself and stands up. "Fine. Give me a few and I'll get ready." He said as he throws his pillow at Naruto who swatted the pillow away.

"Alright." Naruto told him as he turned and left Kiba's room. Heading down the hallway towards the kitchen to get something to eat. "Good morning." Naruto greeted everyone in the kitchen.

"Morning." Tsuma greeted with a smile as she takes a drink of her coffee.

"Morning brat." Tsunade greeted as she takes a drink of her tea. As everyone gathered at Tsuma's house this morning.

"Where is Grandpa and Uncle Loki?" Naruto asks as he sits down at the kitchen table.

"They have a meeting with sensei this morning." Tsunade said with a smile as she took another drink as she watches her grandson.

"Oh. Okay." Naruto said as he takes a drink of his orange juice as Kiba comes walking in and makes sure Akamaru his breakfast, before sitting down to have his own.

"So, what have I missed?" Kiba questions as he slides into his seat.

"Nothing. Now eat before your late." Tsume said with a growl. With that said both boys began eating as they had to go pick up Hinata to head towards the Shinobi Academy.

Hyuuga Clan Estate

Hinata comes walking out the Estate doors. "Hello." She greets Kiba and Naruto.

"Hey Hinata." Naruto greets with one of his blinding smiles.

"Hey Hinata-chan." Kiba greets with a slight goof smile as Akamaru pop's out of his coat letting out a bark for his own greeting.

"Morning." She returns their greeting with a soft shy smile.

"Come on let's head to the Academy we have a lot to do today and we don't know what to expect." Naruto said with a grin.

With that they took of roof hooping though out the village until they made it to the center of the village to where the Shinobi Academy rest. "That didn't take to long." Naruto said with a sigh.

"No, but look at all the Genin going in." Kiba pointed out as he felt a little nervous.

"Indeed." Hinata agreed as she was feeling her nerves trying to get the better of her.

Out the corner of his eye, Naruto noticed Sasuke and Shino standing off to the side waiting for Sakura. "Come on. Let's get to the 3rd floor before the Uchiha gets in there and makes trouble with his lapdog." He tells them.

Kiba and Hinata nod their heads in agreement and quietly and swiftly they left the courtyard and entered the Academy.

3rd Floor

Kurenai stood at the door awaiting for the three of them. "Hello you three." She said. With a smile on her face.

"Hey Sensei?" Naruto greeted with confusion lacing his voice. "What are you doing here?" asked her.

She smirks at him. "If you three didn't come as a group. You wouldn't be allowed in. I'm glad you three are strong and your teamwork is flawless. So, I'm going to allow you to pass now." She told them with a smile as she vanished in a plume of smoke.

The three of the looked at each other and grinned as they walked into room 350. To see Genin's of all different ages. Some a little older than them and other's as old as their sensei. "Wow." Kiba said as he looked around as Naruto let out his killer intent making a few take several steps away from them.

"Come on. Lets find somewhere to watch for the others." Naruto suggests as they move to an open corner as they watch Team 10 come in shortly after and almost to the end…making it in by the skin of their teeth Team 7 made it in before the door was locked by a hidden ANBU.
