Kordian Odom was thrown into the throne room of Arendelle's castle, the man stumbling as he regained his footing. Still in a half-transformed state and burning with rage, Indi stalked forward, his gait uneven; he almost seemed to be limping. Elsa followed after him, taking in the alteration to his form: he had maintained the half-scaly visage and his scaled and clawed arm. However, his right leg had shifted to a smaller version of the foot and lower leg of an Indominus Rex, the new scaly form having ripped through his shoe and ripping the leg of his trousers below the knee. Indi stepped forward with his altered right leg intimidatingly, the scaly toes spreading out as they hit the floor. He brought his arm back and slapped Odom away, sending him to his back. Odom scrambled back as Indi slowly advanced, the Indominus Furies on either side of the knight. Violet stepped around them, leading Mia and Damian. The young dinomorphs' scaly forms stalking forward, their eyes locked onto the man.
Elsa glanced around as servants and guards had begun to line either side of her throne room, no doubt morbidly curious to see what would happen. Indi stepped forward, his leg lifting over the man, before placing the three-toed scaly foot on the man's left arm. He applied his weight, and a sickening crunch sounded into the room, making many people wince. Odom screamed, his eyes widening in fear as pain coursed through his arm.
"My liege!" Odom called out desperately. "Please!"
King Raclaw spoke to Elsa. "Please, Queen Elsa, call off your knight and your… dinomorphs."
"Mister Odom made an unwarranted attempt on Indi's life," Elsa said, her face set like stone. "And he proceeded to threaten dinomorphs in front of all of us, beings that Indi is sworn to protect."
Indi grabbed Odom by the throat and held him up. The knight opened his mouth, revealing a full set of crooked, sharp teeth that extended into the human side of his face.
"Queen Elsa," Raclaw said, folding his hands together. "I beg you. Have mercy."
Elsa examined the king for a moment, before turning to walk towards her fiancé. "Indi." The dinomorph paused, turning his head to look at the queen. "Please put him down."
Indi's face softened slightly, and he tossed Odom away, the ambassador falling to his back with a heavy thud.
"He has to pay for what he's done," Indi said, the exposed conical teeth on the right side of his face working with each word. He watched as Violet approached the man, her talons raised.
"And he will," Elsa said. "Look, he said he was going to return Arild to von Schwicke. That means he knows where he is." She rested her hand on his shoulder. Indi turned his head, glaring at the ambassador, who was lying on the ground, looking at Violet with fear. Indi snarled, shaking his head.
"You're lucky I love you," he said, before turning to the trio of dinomorphs. "Violet, stand down." The Velociraptor glanced at Indi, before slowly backing away, her enlarged sickle-shaped talons held aloft with each reverse step. Indi stepped forward, glancing at Elsa. He slowly shifted back to his fully-human form and walked through the trio of dinomorphs. He knelt, grabbing Odom by the collar. "I highly recommend you start talking."
The ambassador nodded frantically, tears in his eyes.
"Tell me where George von Schwicke is." Indi said with a snarl.
"I-I don't know," Odom said. Indi felt his claws extend. "But I can show you where I bought Arild. It's halfway between Panist and the Barbaric Archipelago."
Indi scowled at the man, before turning to a servant who had come to investigate the commotion. "Go fetch a map of the entirety of northern Europe." The servant nodded and scurried away, and Indi turned to a pair of guards. "Bring me Miss Claire Dearing."
The guards nodded and also left the throne room. Indi noticed Arild entering the throne room, followed by Brynn. The knight paid them little mind, turning back to Odom. "What am I expecting to find there?"
"You're going there?" Odom asked, his eyes widening. Indi tightened his grip around the fabric of Odom's collar.
"Answer the question, Kordian," Raclaw said, watching the scene unfold uncomfortably.
Odom spoke, his voice wavering. "I wasn't taken everywhere, just to the auction. But I could tell they had a large compound. There were quite a few guards."
"Arild," Indi called. "Can you describe the place where Odom bought you?"
"There were lots of cages," Arild said, stepping forward. Elsa watched him closely. "They took us to a large pen where we could spend days in the sun, when we weren't being tested or shown off to potential owners."
Indi nodded at the boy, thankful for the information. The servant returned to the room, carrying a large sheet of paper that had been rolled up.
Elsa stepped forward, taking the map and unrolling it, the yellowing paper crinkling. "The best map we have of the area is old, not that we have had much of a reason to go that far north to begin with."
Odom pointed to an area where a small collection of islands was, at about three days of direct flight by dragonback. "That's where I bought him." Indi looked at the map, scrutinizing the area.
"Sir Indi," Claire Dearing's voice said as she was escorted into the throne room. She seemed to spit out his title as though the words left a bad taste in her mouth. "You called for me?"
"Yes," Indi said with a nod. He gently took the map from Elsa and stepped over to von Schwicke's former associate. "If I go to these islands, what will I find?" Dearing seemed to hesitate, making Indi glare at her. "Do not lie to me. I am in no mood for it."
Dearing looked at the area on the map the dinomorph indicated and took a breath. "You will find a breeding facility."
"Is it still active?"
"From what I last heard, yes," the redheaded woman said.
Indi turned to Elsa, rolling up the map and passing it to her. "Please have him thrown in a cell."
Elsa nodded, motioning for two guards to come over. "Where are you going?"
"Have the area between here and those islands copied down," Indi said, flashing her a look, before turning to Brynn. "Suit up. Go get the dracomorphs."
Brynn nodded, leaving the throne room and two guards came over and hauled Odom to his feet. Violet, Mia, and Damian shifted to their human forms, drawing gasps from Raclaw's people.
"We're coming with you," Mia said.
"We can fight," Damian added, his teeth still sharp.
Indi felt a hint of pride but kept his face stern. "Absolutely not. I cannot risk more lives than necessary."
"But you will need help," Violet said, stepping forward.
Indi placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and scanned the faces of the inhuman youths. "I need you all to look after things here. I won't be able to protect Arendelle while I'm gone. I need you to protect our home."
Violet looked at her friends, who nodded slowly, before turning back to Indi. "We'll do it. We won't let you down."
"I know you won't." Indi gave the trio a small smile before removing his hand from Violet's shoulder. He walked over to Arild. The boy hung his head in regret and submission.
"I'm sorry-" Arild began.
Indi sighed. "You don't need to worry about Odom anymore. You're one of us now."
Odom's voice sounded into the room as he was being led away by the guards. "Arild, you'll always be mine!"
Indi snapped, his voice roaring out as his teeth sharpened. "He's not your property anymore! Now, get out of here, you miserable little shit, before I tear your head off and shove it up your ass!"
The guards quickly led Odom out of the way before Indi decided to just kill the ambassador. The knight took a breath, calming himself, before turning back to the boy. "We'll find a place for you here."
Violet stepped over. "I'll talk to my mother. She always wanted a son."
Indi smiled and nodded. "Good. She knows Arild already."
Violet smiled and transformed, before running out of the throne room. Indi glanced at Elsa before leaving the room as well. The queen watched as her fiance left, no doubt to get weapons and supplies. As the people slowly began to disperse from the room, Indi's mother appeared behind her.
"Your Majesty," Mary said. "May I speak with you?"
Elsa turned at her voice and smiled softly. "Of course."
Mary hesitated, looking at the other people in the throne room. "I mean, can I speak with you alone?"
"Oh, of course." Elsa said, understanding. The queen led the older woman out of the throne room through a side door, and the pair walked through the halls. Once they were sufficiently away from the other people, Mary spoke.
"I trust you saw Indi's form," she said.
"I did," Elsa said with a slow nod. "I must admit, this is getting both encouraging and extremely worrying."
"I agree," Mary said. "I believe I am ready to try to reverse the effects and restore Indi to what he was before."
Elsa's eyes widened. "Are you sure?"
Mary shook her head. "I am not sure. Perhaps with time, the effects will be reversed fully on their own, but I am not sure how much time we have."
Elsa nodded. "Do what you need to. If you need anything, come straight to me."
Mary smiled, her jaw setting in determination. "Thank you, Your Majesty."
Indi put his black armor that would help blend into the dark and secured the clasps and buckles. He grabbed his shield, brushing some dust from the face. He strapped the metal circle to his back, before leaving his room. He went through the halls of the castle, his steps hard and purposeful. His left foot, encased in a hard leather shoe, clicked on the floor, while his right foot was bare, and made a quiet thump on the floor. As they saw him approach, servants and castle visitors gave Indi and his Indominus Furies a wide berth.
He went down to the armory, where he took a small crossbow and a couple sleeves of bolts. Satisfied, he whistled, calling Copal and Emerald, and the trio went to the courtyard, grabbing Sleuther's saddle as they came to the door.
Waiting in the courtyard was Brynn, along with a group of young people. The guard stepped forward, offering Indi his sword and its scabbard, which the knight accepted, along with a copy of the map. Sleuther stepped over to his rider, rumbling a greeting.
"Dracomorphs," Indi said. "I have been informed of a facility where more of our kind are being held. The location is a couple of days from here. I requested your assistance in going to the place and rescuing our brethren. The facility is likely similar to the place where I broke you out of. This will be dangerous, and I will not fault you for not wishing to risk yourself."
The dracomorphs looked at each other. Indi could see the unease on their faces, but underneath that was a quiet, vengeful rage. The thought of others being held like they once were drove the shifters mad.
"Do we know how many there are?" Hannah asked. Indi shook his head. "We don't. That's why I need your help. To go in with me and help me get the people out."
One by one, the dracomorphs stepped forward. Indi gave a small smile at the silent show of support, before strapping Sleuther's saddle to his back. He attached the crossbow to a loop and set the associated bolts into one of the saddlebags. He climbed up, before reaching down to help Brynn up to sit behind him.
"Shifters!" Indi called as Sleuther rose. The dracomorphs shifted from their human forms into a variety of dragons: several Monstrous Nightmares and Deadly Nadders in various colors, Changewing, Flightmare, a Skrill, and a Whispering Death. "Today, you become more than refugees. You become warriors!"
Sleuther roared and took flight, shooting into the air. He was quickly followed by the Indominus Furies and the dracomorphs. The group leveled out, flying over the town, then over the North Mountain that could be seen from the capital of Arendelle, and turning East. Hannah roared, and Sleuther answered. The group flew all day, setting down only to rest for a bit close to dawn. They slept for several hours, before catching breakfast from the ocean and taking flight once more. Indi stared forward, checking the map on occasion.
As the sun began to sink towards the horizon, once again, Indi pointed to a small island and called out. "Let's land down there."
The group landed, the dragons sending up small sprays of sand with their wingbeats. Indi and Brynn dismounted, groaning. The dracomorphs shifted to the human forms. Indi produced the map from one of the saddlebags and unfolded it. He looked at it once, before turning it to the correct orientation.
"We're close," he said. Copal approached him, and he rubbed the hybrid dragon's head.
"What's the plan, boss?" Brynn asked. Indi glanced up at her and gave her a devilish grin, his teeth sharpening.
The sky was nearly dark, the only illumination coming from a strip of the galaxy, as well as a scattering of the stars around the band of lights. Against the field of dots, flew a trio of dragons, barely visible. They flew across the ocean waters that sat as the sleeping guardian of dark secrets, secrets that were not supposed to be known by outsiders. The destination of the dragons sat as a dark smudge on the horizon. The dragons' sight was far superior to any mere man in the area, only matched by the two passengers that sat on the back of the largest dragon of the trio.
Sleuther glided silently over the island's coast, his wings beating occasionally. The pair of Indominus Furies followed him, the normally energetic youngsters quiet, as though they too could sense the seriousness of the task before them.
The dragons landed in a small clearing, and Indi dismounted. He quietly took the crossbow, bolts, and sword, and he secured them to his armor. Brynn gave the knight a silent nod, before urging the Triple Stryke back into the air. After a moment, Indi was alone in the clearing with Copal and Emerald, who were looking around.
Indi closed his eyes, listening for a moment. He clicked his teeth once and strode into the forest to the center of the island, the dragons following him. They walked quietly through the trees, their footsteps nearly silent, with the only noises coming from the rustling and crunching of dry leaves beneath their feet. As they walked, Indi glanced up, seeing the familiar form of Sleuther pass overhead silently.
After some time, the trio broke through a patch of dried pine boughs, revealing a large structure in an area where the trees were relatively sparse. Indi saw several large walls and towers. Walking the walls were several guards, who were holding torches.
Indi nodded, and slowly stepped forward. He walked quickly, making his way from one tree to the next, staying in the shadows. He quickly came to the wall and pressed himself up next to it. He looked up, seeing two patches of torchlight pass by each other. Copal and Emerald appeared at his side. Indi motioned for the dragons to stay put, before letting his claws extend. He began climbing up the wall, his claws digging into the wood. He silently climbed over onto the walkway, before motioning for the dragon to follow him. Copal and Emerald shot over the wall silently, and Indi jumped down, landing inside the complex.
He kept to the shadows, making his way to a large building, the dragons staying close. He noticed an open window and crept closer, peering inside. The room was dark. He opened the window slowly, wincing as it slightly creaked in protest. He climbed inside and clicked his teeth. Copal and Emerald followed him inside, and he shut the window.
Indi looked around, allowing his eyes to adjust to the even darker space, before walking through the room. He opened a door slightly and peered through, seeing a long hallway. Satisfied that the hall was empty, he opened the door and went through. He made sure to step lightly, keeping his footfalls as quiet as possible.
The hall began to slope forward slightly, and a lantern cast a small glow. The trio passed the lantern by.
Indi came to a heavy wooden door, and he heard voices from inside, in the form of several screams and yells. He slowly opened the door, looking through the gap with one eye. Inside, he saw several large cages. What he saw inside made him glare and snarl silently.
He slowly unclipped his crossbow and cocked it. He produced a bolt and loaded the projectile. He slowly opened the door and raised the weapon.
In the hall was a large man, who was repeatedly jabbing into a cage with a short spear. He laughed as the cage's occupant screamed in fear and pain. Other voices from the other cages were yelling for the man to stop.
Indi whistled, getting the man's attention. The man turned, and was met with a bolt going through his eye and into his skull. He fell backwards into the floorboards with a heavy thud.
Indi entered the hall, Copal and Emerald following. The hall was lined with crude cage doors made of wrought iron. Inside the cells were people, thin and gaunt. They were huddled against the far side of their cells. Indi glanced over them as he passed by, and he could tell that many of them were not human. He stood in the middle of the hall.
"I am Sir Indi Rex," he said, looking around at them. "I am a knight of Arendelle and leader of the dinomorphs that live there. I am here to get you all out."
One of the people slowly stepped forward; a young man who was perhaps a year or two older than Indi. He had reddish hair and yellow eyes. "Indi Rex?"
"Yes." Indi nodded, and began examining the body of the guard for any keys.
"I am Calder," the man said. Indi sighed, failing momentarily in his search for keys. He examined the young man for a moment, rising. He stepped over, tilting his head curiously.
"Are you a shifter, Calder?" Indi asked, to which Calder nodded. "I've never met a shifter that was older than me. I thought I was one of the first."
"Von Schwicke always kept us guessing," Calder said. "Our mothers were one of the only constants in our lives, aside from our tasks."
"I underst-" Indi was cut off by the massive bellow of a Tyrannosaurus outside, followed by the roars of dragons. Down the main hallway, he heard the thundering of footsteps. He pressed himself to the side of the cage door, watching as a team of men ran by the hall's doorway.
Indi loaded his crossbow and looked to Calder. "I'll be back."
He left the short hallway, his dragons following closely. He made his way down the main corridor, allowing his claws to extend. He turned a corner and saw several men in armor dragging a child from her mother. The woman cried and screamed, and her child was pulled from her grip. The child let out a shriek, and slashed at a man's chestplate with her hand, leaving claw marks on the metal. Indi raised his crossbow and fired, the bolt going into a man's neck. He collapsed, gurgling on his own blood. The other men saw Indi and raised their weapons.
Indi dropped his crossbow and drew his sword. Copal and Emerald flanked him on either side, low, stuttering growls emanating from their throats. Indi roared, his teeth sharpened, and the trio charged. The Indominus Furies took flight as they shot forward, and they began savaging two men, Copal targeting the man that held the child. The guard dropped the young dinomorph, and she darted back to her mother.
Indi met the group head on, ducking benath the blade of an ax. He slashed another man across the throat, before driving the point of his sword into another man's face, bone cracking against the sharp blade. Suddenly, Indi felt a set of strong arms wrap around his neck from behind and drag him down to the ground, making him lose his grip on his sword. The man straddled him and pinned him down, wrapping a strong set of hands around Indi's throat. Indi's heart began pounding as his air was cut off, and he grabbed the man's wrists, before letting his face change. He sank a set of claws into the man's wrist, making him cry out. The dinomorph twisted his head to sink his newly sharpened and exposed teeth into the man's arm. The guard yelled and released Indi, trying to pull away, but the young man hung on. From above them, a white dragon grabbed the man by the head, her teeth, clamping around his skull. Emerald flapped her wings and pulled the guard away, the man adding to the screaming in the hall. Copal darted around her sister and sank her teeth into the man's throat, before ripping his trachea out.
The rest of the guards fell back to the far side of the hall to regroup, several of their comrades laying dead on the floor.
Indi lay on the floor, coughing, the sound turning to a laugh and slowly began to rise. His right arm shifted to being covered in white scales, long claws growing from his first four digits while his fifth finger shrunk and disappeared into his hand. His right leg shifted as well as he rose, his foot shifting to be similar to a three-toed bird foot. He straighted himself, and the lips on the left side of his face twisted into an anticipatory grin, revealing a full set of sharp, conical teeth. He took a shaky step forward, Copal and Emerald flanking him.
"I'm a product of the science," he slowly chanted. "who's creations bring terror.
Within this somber fortress, my extinction is reversed.
Just free yourself from shackles, soon you'll see in black and red.
Call me a spawn of devils, but what's that mean if I'm conceived from your hands."
The men started to back away, and Indi charged, rage fueling his attack. He drove his claws into one guard's throat, while Copal and Emerald each grabbed a man's arm, before dragging them back into the darkness, the scream sounding out. Indi stalked forward slowly, advancing on the three remaining men.
"Leaking from the injuries, blood is flooding from our veins.
Is that your heart's that thumping or illusion we're insane?
Release what's necessary, cease abusing the divine.
It's me you should be obeying, because he's deceiving you with lies."
Indi advanced, slashing at one man's gut. The guard fell to his knees as he cried out, his intestines falling into his hands and onto the floor in thick, slippery coils that steamed in the air. He stared at his organs in shock. Indi pulled his arm back, before slamming his claws into the guardys head, the points punching through the helmet and deep into his temple. Indi ripped his claws away, and the man fell onto his face. Indi slowly stepped over to the two remaining men, their grip tightening on their weapons.
"Despite this mask of carnage, I suffocate on air.
Our cage is our whole world, what you place in it, beware!
Our claws are mightier than your blades, we break our limitations.
Don't refrain, this venom stains, and nothing can vanquish us now!
Can you describe the face you see?
Could it be one you recognize?
We'd never harm the hand with claws.
Innovation cursed us all with life!"
One guard charged and readied his ax, a desperate move that left him exposed. Indi grabbed the man's wrist, and ducked beneath the following punch. Indi pulled the ax from the man's hand and buried the head into the man's forehead. He sank his fangs into the man's throat and ripped away a chunk of flesh, before shoving the corpse away.
He slowly turned to the remaining guard and swallowed, blood dripping from his mouth and down his chin.
"Shamed and defaced, scathed and disgraced.
Tainted by hatred, but won't be extinct.
Creators abused us, we felt it all day!
Just open our cage, 'cause we won't be extinct!"
The lone guard dropped his sword and fell to his knees. He raised his hands in front of his face, looking away. "Please, have mercy. I surrender."
Indi snarled. "Mercy? You have the gall to ask for mercy?" He grabbed the man by the throat and pointed to the people in the cells. "Did you show them mercy?!"
The man stayed silent with fear, and Indi shoved him away, the man stumbling to his knee. Indi glared down at him and blinked, the membrane sliding sideways over his right eye a sharp contrast to his more human-like left eye.
"There's your mercy," Indi spat. Out of the darkness behind the guard, two sets of eyes glowed in the dim lantern light: one set was amber, while the other was green. A slow, stuttering growl emanated from the creatures. The guard turned and began to scream as a set of teeth sank into his shoulder. He began to struggle, only to feel another set sink into his leg.
Copal and Emerald began to slowly drag him away into the dark, the man screaming in terror and pain. Indi watched the carnage coldly, until Emerald cracked the man's neck in her bloodlust.
Once the guard had stopped moving, the pair of dragons emerged from the darkness, chittering and barking in their hoarse voices. Their faces and claws were covered in blood, and smears of crimson covered their bodies. A blend of saliva and blood dripped from their teeth. Despite their gorey appearance, Indi could not help but smile at them.
"Good girls," Indi said, rubbing the dragon's head's with his own blood-covered hands for a moment.
"Who are you?" a voice said from beside him. Indi turned to see a young woman, hardly older than himself, looking at him through the cage bars.
"I am here to help," he said. "My name is Indi, and these little monsters are Copal and Emerald."
From the side, he saw the little dinomorph girl exit the open cell, followed by her mother. The girl crouched down for a moment, before picking up a set of keys from a puddle of blood. She slowly approached Indi, whose appearance slowly shifted back to a fully-human form. Indi reached his hand out, and the girl gently placed the keys in his hand.
"Thank you, my dear," Indi said, and he began unlocking the cells. He swung the doors open, several of them squealing in protest. Each cell held one of two people. Some of the women were fully human, but most of the people were dinomorphs.
He gave the keys to one of the mothers. "Here. Head up the hall. There's more cells there that need to be unlocked. If anyone tries to stop you, kill them."
Indi removed his sword from a corpse and picked up his crossbow. "I'm going to see if there's anyone else that needs help. I'll meet you all in that big room near the entrance."
The people nodded and Indi left the hall, going into the main corridor. He climbed a flight of stairs, and quickly strode down the halls. With his sword ready, he threw doors open, finding only abandoned living quarters. As he threw open another door, he saw an office, all neat and tidy. He stepped in slowly, Emerald and Copal staying close. He went over to a large desk, and began pulling drawers open. Most of what he found were papers documenting successful experiments and the results of tests on the dinomorphs, as well as sales to people.
Indi began folding up several of the papers, stuffing them into his pockets and between his armor and his shirt. Outside, he heard more roars and the rush of flames, which made him pause for a moment. As he continued with his thievery, he found a sheet of paper that made him pause. He quickly scanned it.
"This is about battle preparations," he mumbled. He grabbed the associated papers, folded them up, and stuffed them into his pocket.
He grabbed his sword and left the room, whistling for his dragons to follow. The trio left the upper level of the structure and went down below once more.
"I have always been a monster," he sang darkly as he walked. "And I'll never be his muse.
Innovation made me stronger, but that power was abused.
The cage doors are clanging, and our hearts are thumping." Indi saw a guard, who advanced on him. Indi quickly drove his sword into his throat. "Now you'll need to run, because this demon's coming!"
Indi turned down a new hallway, where he saw Calder and some of the older dinomorphs working to unlock more cells. His sudden appearance made the newly freed captives jump and prepare to fight, only for Calder to recognize him.
"It's alright," he said as he swung the door open. "That's Sir Indi. He's here to help us."
Indi nodded to the group. "Is that everyone?"
"Yes," Calder said. "Most of them are waiting in the auction hall."
"Good," Indi said as he began to lead the group through the corridors. Once the group came to the auction hall, Indi saw the rest of the captives. He did a quick calculation and nodded, before climbing onto a table.
"Everyone," he said. "In case no one has told you, I am Indi. I came here to get you all out. Now, once we go through these doors, it will be chaotic. Stay together, and do not scatter. There will be dragons, but don't be afraid of them; they're like us. They're going to get us out of here."
Calder nodded, along with several others. Indi jumped down from the table and approached the doors.
"Ready?" He threw the door open, and the small crowd poured out.
Outside was absolutely chaotic. Several buildings were either on fire or in the process of being flamed. Dragons shot overhead, and a Tyrannosaurus was fighting guards, snapping and biting at some and trampling others. Sleuther roared, and dove, grabbing a man in his jaws before flying upwards. The dragon dropped the man, who fell, screaming and flailing, until he hit the ground with a massive thud, cutting off his screams. Brynn turned her large, scaly head to look and shrank down quickly, allowing the Triple Strike to shoot beneath her and carry her into the air.
Several guards noticed the escaping prisoners, and began to charge at them.
As the group of dinomorphs ran through the chaotic battleground, Calder nodded to Indi before turning to face the guards. He transformed into a large predator. In the light of the fires, Indi could tell that Calder's form was a deep, rusty red. His skin was covered in a scattering of large and small scales, with small spikes on his back in several rows. His head was short and deep, with a pair of conical horns over his eyes.
Calder roared out a deep scream, making the guards pause. Suddenly, the ground beneath the guards gave away, and two of them were caught in the jaws of a Whispering Death. The jaws of the dragon closed around them, and several rows of teeth began spinning, slicing the men apart. Their screams were drowned out by the fiery roar of a Monstrous Nightmare, the thick flames sticking to the wooden wall that surrounded the complex.
As the group ran, Indi put two fingers into his mouth and whistled. After a moment, Sleuther appeared, with Brynn on his back. The dragon landed, and Indi climbed on.
"Is that everyone?" Brynn asked, wiping a sizable amount of blood from her face.
Indi nodded. "Everyone, get on a dragon! We're getting the fuck out!"
Sleuther roared, and all of the dragon's flew over to the freed dinomorphs and their mothers. Some of the dracomorphs allowed them to climb on, while others simply snatched them from the ground in their talons or jaws. Sleuther shot into the air, the wind pulling at Indi and Brynn's hair.
Indi directed his dragon into a turn and shot his crossbow at a guard. The bolt struck true, burying the metal tip into the man's face. The man fell backwards, plummeting from the top of the wall he was on.
Indi directed Sleuther into a dive, and the dragon unleashed a torrent of fire into the main facility, burning the upper rooms. Indi and Brynn hung on as their mount banked to the left, shooting away into the darkness.
"Dracomorphs!" Indi called as Sleuther shot to the front of the group, which had begun to fly away from the burning fortress and approach the harbor. "Burn their ships! Don't let them leave!"
The dragons roared and dove towards the ship.
"Shamed and defaced!" the rescued prisoners called out. "Scathed and disgraced!
Tainted by hatred and won't be extinct!
Creators abused us, we saw it all day!
He's opened our cage, we won't be extinct!"
The dragons opened fire, their flames engulfing the ships, burning the decks and hulls. Sailors jumped into the water and swam for their lives, as the masts fell, the sails tumbling down like burning flags.
The dragon shot away, flying into the darkness of the night sky. Behind them, the conflagration glowed like a fiery pit to the underworld.
Elsa strode through the castle halls, mentally exhausted after another long day of paperwork and meetings. Her council was not happy about the issues that Indi had caused concerning Kordian Odom. They had assured her that there was likely more… diplomatic options to release Arild from bondage, but that was of little use now.
From outside, a group of large shadows passed by. Elsa's eyes widened and she ran through the castle, pulling the skirt of her dress up slightly so that she would not trip on it. Faceplanting would be very unbecoming of a queen.
She ran down the stairs, and she saw servants looking out the windows. People were already gathering in the courtyard. Word traveled quickly, so everyone was aware that Indi had led the dracomorphs to rescue more shifters.
People made way for her, and Elsa dashed into the courtyard.
The dracomorphs and Indominus Furies had already landed, and Sleuther was the last to touch down. Indi dismounted, followed by Brynn, and the pair began helping people down from the backs of the dracomorphs.
As Elsa stepped forward, she gasped at the sight of the new refugees. Several of them had scars, and a few of them had somewhat fresh injuries. What struck the queen hardest was the fact that they were very thin, likely starving. Their eyes were sunken in, and their movements were extremely slow and weak.
The Queen caught Indi's eye, and the knight motioned for her to approach. Elsa did so slowly, her hands outstretched.
"Welcome," she said softly. The people looked at her with trepidation. "I am Queen Elsa of Arendelle. You all are safe here."
Indi walked over to her. He spoke quietly. "We should get something into them, and have the healers and doctors look them over."
Elsa nodded.
Indi stepped over to the dracomorphs. "Thank you all for helping. I couldn't have done it without you." All of the reptilian forms ripped their heads. "You should all rest for a few days. You've earned it."
The dracomorphs took flight, flying off to the homes.
"Indi," a familiar voice said. The knight turned to see Mary stepping over to him. "You did it."
Indi nodded. "Yes. Mother, I need you to help look after these people. Help the healers and doctors. They need it. But, take them to get something to eat first."
"Of course," Mary said with a nod, looking over the group. She stepped over to them. "My name is Mary. If you would all follow me, we can get you something to eat and take care of you."
Several of the people in the group nodded, and Mary led them inside. Elsa watched the small crowd enter the castle, her eyes lingering in their injuries and thin frames. Indi stepped over to her, also watching the group. "I need to talk to you."
She turned to face her fiancé. "Yes?"
"In your office," Indi said, clarifying.
"Oh," Elsa said, raising her eyebrows. "Of course. Come."
The queen and the knight walked into the castle and made their way to Elsa's office. Anna encountered them as they passed, and wordlessly followed them. Indi nodded, approving of her presence. Once they had arrived at the queen's office, Elsa's eyes widened as Indi started pulling papers out of his pockets and from beneath his armor.
"At that place," Indi said. "I found an office. There were these papers in the drawers." Elsa and Anna began looking over the documents. Most of them were sales records, with notes of "what" was sold and to whom, and some were records of experiments.
Indi slid over a couple sheets. "You need to see these."
Elsa sat down in her chair and picked up the papers. Her eyes moved back and forth as she scanned them.
"Elsa," the princess said. "What is it?"
The queen's eyes widened. "These… These are battle preparations, Indi."
"What?" Anna said wordlessly. The princess knew Indi had led a rescue operation on one of George von Schwicke's facilities, but this was news.
"I know," Indi said. "Look at who they're targeting."
Elsa gasped, rising from her seat. "Gather the council. Indi, I need you to get ready. Get Brynn and gather whoever you think can help us."
Indi nodded, already formulating plans.
"Elsa!" Anna said, grabbing her sister's wrist. "Who are they going after?"
Elsa said a single word that made Anna's heart drop into her stomach. "Corona."
