"Cat-" Marinette begin, but then a loud bang and scrambling sound was heard coming from her balcony. Instantly, Cat was on his feet and alert. Marinette clutched his arm. "You don't think its a akuma do you?" Cat was all business now. "Only one way to find out."
Quietly, they headed up to Marinette's bed then Cat slowly opened the hatch to the balcony. "What is it?" Marinette hissed as she sat on the bed. "Cat?" "I'm not sure, let's go up top."
It was a bit chilly on the balcony, but it was well illuminated by jack-o-lanterns glowing in the corners. "I feel like something is watching me," Marinette squeaked, her back now against Cat's.
Just then, two sets of glowing eyes appeared, and then two bundles of fluff sprang into Marinette's and Cat's arms. "Kitties!" Marinette gasped in surprised. "Two beautiful kitties!"
Hers was an inky black and soft like a cloud, while Cat's was a sandy color, wearing a sweet expression as she purred. "How did you two get up here?" Marinette hugged the soft ball of fluff, then checked for collars on both cats. "Do you think their strays?" Marinette asked, knowing her partner had many feline friends. "I haven't seen these two around, but they don't look too bad. Oh, Princess, look!"
The two cats stretched out towards each other and touched noses. "Its like their kissing!" Marinette breathed. Just then, the bell of Notre Dame chimed, floating across the river. "Princess, I need to get home, do you think you can watch them overnight? I'll bring food and milk in the morning?" Marinette smiled. "For us, or for this two?" "Don't worry, you'll get Starbucks sometime in the morning."
The cats were as good as gold, and Sabine wore an amused expression as Marinette came down to breakfast with a couple of extra friends. "Who's this?" Her mother asked. "I found them on the balcony. Cats bringing food soon."
Her father was immediately taken and played with the cats while Marinette ate breakfast. "You know, we could some good mousers in the bakery. If these two aren't accounted for in a few days time, we'll keep them!"
"Oh, Papa!" Marinette hugged her father. The doorbell rang. "One more Cat has joined the party," she giggled, letting her best friend in.
For the rest of the morning, Halloween was forgotten as Cat and Marinette played with their two new friends.
