Chapter 2 (Summer 2024 part 1)
On a hot, sunny summer day, wrestling fans gathered around a major event set up at a beach, mainly around a wrestling ring that was built on top of the sand. At the center of the ring, Sayuri Rogue stood wearing a black bikini top, a large hat, and a towel wrapped around her waist like a dress. She pulled out her microphone and addressed the fans.
"Xtrema fans, I give you a warm summer welcome to this year's annual Summer Special. Here, my mighty, beautiful wrestlers will partake in nine matches, each different from the others! And at the end of the day, one of the winners of those events will be selected by you fans as the MVP and win an all-expense paid vacation along with a large bonus in their pay! So... are you ready for some summertime fun?!" The crowd cheered in agreement. "Okay then! Let's get this event underway!"
*Platinum Mask vs Thunder Mana*
Sayuri cleared the ring when the first wrestler walked from the stage. Platinum Mask entered the ring. After that, Thunder Mana made her entrance. The two of them faced each other as Sayuri Rogue made her announcement.
"Welcome to the first match of the special! To start us off, we have the mighty mystery, Thunder Mana, going against the stormy maiden, Thunder Mana, in a standard rules match! That means no illegal attack, no attacking the referee, and only pins and submissions count as a fair win! Wrestlers ready?" Platinum Mask and Thunder Mana nodded. "Then let's do this!"
DING-DING!
Both Platinum Mask and Thunder Mana met at the center of the ring. They then started their match with a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Both powerhouses looking for the advantage. Neither one had it and broke the tie-up. Platinum Mask then threw her arm hitting Mana with an elbow strike. Thunder Mana returned with a counterstrike, but Platinum Mask ducked and returned with a bicycle kick.
Thunder Mana staggered backwards from the kick, which left her vulnerable. Platinum Mask rushed at her and brought her down with a clothesline. She attempted to cover her for a pin, but Thunder Mana kicked out before the referee counted to one.
Thunder Mana quickly climbed to her feet, but Platinum Mask ran right at her and hit her with a knee strike knocking her backwards. She fell to the corner of the ring where Platinum Mask followed it with a shoulder tackle to her stomach. However, Thunder Mana sprang her trap and caught Platinum Mask's head with a guillotine hold. She moved away from the corner and dragged her opponent to the middle of the ring. She then grabbed Platinum Mask by her waistline and throwing her backwards with a vertical suplex.
After the suplex, Thunder Mana picked Platinum Mask up and held her in a side headlock for a second. She then Irish whipped her to the ropes and waited for her to return. Once she did, Mana launched a kick that knocked Platinum Mask down. She then covered her for the pin.
1…
Platinum Mask kicked out quickly and rolled to the ropes. She used them to pick herself up before Thunder Mana ran over to attack her. Platinum Mask saw her coming and ducked pulling the top rope down with her. Mana tripped and fell over the rope and to the outside of the ring where Platinum Mask followed.
Once she was outside, the grabbed Mana's legs while she was down and applied a sharpshooter. She wretched the hold in making Thunder Mana wince in pain when she was facedown into the sand. All the while, the referee began counting getting closer to the ring-out.
1… 2… 3… 4… 5…
Finally, Thunder Mana moved herself to be in front of Platinum Mask instead of behind her for the sharpshooter. She then shot her legs forward pushing Platinum Mask to the barricade. She then got up, grabbed her, and threw her back into the ring. She followed just when the referee reached the count of 6.
Thunder Mana headed to her corner and prepared herself. She waited for Platinum Mask to stand back up on her own two feet. When she did, Mana darted after her ready to hit her with her signature spear. However, Platinum Mask saw Mana coming and launched a solid knee strike connecting harshly into her opponent's face. Thunder Mana fell to the ground disoriented by the attack. While she was stunned, Platinum Mask grabbed ahold of Thunder Mana wrapping her arms around her legs. She then started to spin them both around catching Mana by surprise. After three strong turns, Platinum Mask let go and sent Thunder Mana crashing down to the mat. After that, Platinum Mask covered her for the pin.
1… 2…
It was close, but much to everyone's surprise, Thunder Mana kicked out of the pin. Even Platinum Mask was shocked, but she recomposed herself and pressed on.
Platinum Mask grabbed Thunder Mana's head and picked her up. She placed her head between her legs as she stood positioning her for a pedigree. She was about to drop down, but before she could have the chance to, Thunder Mana reversed by quickly lifting her up and throwing her back down with an Alabama slam.
Thunder Mana headed to the ropes and waited there for Platinum Mask to stand back up. She went after her again, and like before Platinum Mask saw her coming and threw a kick at her. This time, however, Thunder Mana dodged the strike and ran right past her. She ran to the ropes behind her opponent and bounced off of them. By the time Platinum Mask turned to see her coming, it was too late. Thunder Mana hit her with her signature spear knocking the breath out of her. Once they both crashed onto the mat, Thunder Mana hooked Platinum Mask's leg for the pin.
1… 2… 3!
DING-DING!
Sayuri Rogue clapped her hands before making her announcement. "We have our winner, folks: Thunder Mana! She and Platinum Mask put on quite a show both in and out of the ring! So much back and forth action! But in the end, there could only be one winner, and that turned out to be the wrestling veteran! Congratulations, Thunder Mana! Now, onto our next match!"
*Team Spirit vs The Spike and Dusty Lola*
Once Thunder Mana and Platinum Mask left the ring, the Xtrema staff brought two melons and two kendo sticks in their stead. They placed them in different corners of the ring before the wrestlers made their entrance. First was Team Spirit, who came in with high energy. Next came two other girls. One was a long-haired blonde with a red one-piece that matched her boots and wore white wristbands. The other was a girl with short, green hair, a bronzed skintone, and a white wrestling outfit that matched her boots. The blonde was called the Spike while the other was named Dusty Lola. Each duo stood in different corners of the ring with their respective kendo sticks and melons while Sayuri Rogue made her announcement.
"Let's welcome our guests, the Spike and Dusty Lola, as they square off against our energetic team which they have come to blows with at Xtrema Against the World, Team Spirit, Starla and Isebella! This match right here is an homage to a popular Japanese beach game involving smashing watermelons with kendo sticks! Each team is given their own kendo sticks to attack with and their own melons to defend! Whichever team smashes the other team's melon with their own stick first is the winner! So let's see some melon parts fly!"
DING-DING!
At once, both members of both teams raced after each other and met in the center of the ring. Isebella met up with Dusty Lola and gripped each other's hands struggling for the advantage. Meanwhile, Starla and the Spike immediately began to grapple and catch each other in side headlocks.
"Ready for a repeat of last time?" the Spike asked.
"This won't be like XAW." Starla said. "Because now, we have teamwork. Right, Isebella!"
"Right!" Isebella replied before kicking Dusty Lola sending her back.
Right at that moment, Starla escaped the Spike's headlock and Irish whipped her to she would collide with Dusty Lola. The two stumbled for a bit before recovering. However, they were immediately met up by a combined clothesline made by the arms of both members of Team Spirit. When their joined arms hit the Spike and Dusty Lola, the guest wrestlers were knocked over and fell to the mat.
"I'll take care of them." Starla said to her partner. "You get us a quick win."
"On it." Isebella said heading to her corner.
Once Isebella left, Starla landed an elbow drop on both of her opponents. Dusty Lola got hit, but the Spike rolled away at the last second. She then kicked Starla in the head with both her feet before standing back up. Isebella had just gotten her kendo stick and turned to the opposing team's melon. However, that's when the Spike tackled her and pressed her to the ropes. She then struck Isebella's chest with her palm making her open her hand and drop the kendo stick.
Once the stick had dropped, the Spike Irish whipped Isebella across the ring and to the ropes. When she bounced back, the Spike ducked to give Isebella more momentum. However, she didn't expect Starla to recover and grab her arms from behind. With her unable to move, Isebella was free to hit the Spike with a kick to her head before Starla suplexed her.
"Good work, Starla." Isebella said.
"Thanks, Isebella." Starla replied. "Now, where's our kendo stick?"
"Right here!"
Suddenly, Isebella felt a sharp pain on her back as Dusty Lola struck her with her own kendo stick. She fell on her knees while Lola engaged with Starla. She swung her kendo stick, but Starla ducked and countered with a roundhouse kick. She then pushed Lola over the ropes throwing her out of the ring.
Starla then saw the kendo stick Dusty Lola dropped and grabbed it by its handle. But before she could pick it up, the Spike reached out and grabbed it by its tip. Starla tried to pull it free, but the Spike's grip was strong, especially once she stood back up. She pulled hard not knowing that Isebella was recovering and standing up behind her. With a smirk, the Spike let go of the kendo stick making Starla stumble back and hit bump into Isebella. The Spike then found her chance and kicked them both in the stomachs before holding them both in front facelocks. She prepared to hit them with a double DDT, but they turned the tables on her. Team Spirit managed to lift her up and throw her over their heads before slamming her back down to the mat.
Starla and Isebella took a moment to catch their breaths. They then looked at each other sharing a laugh.
"All right. Let's finish this." Starla said picking up the kendo stick.
"I've got the melon." Starla said before turning around when her smile dropped. "Or not."
"What?" Starla asked checking and seeing that the Spike and Dusty Lola's melon wasn't at its corner anymore. The two of them looked and saw that Dusty Lola had it outside the ring. She held it over her head taunting them both.
The members of Team Spirit nodded to each other and left the ring on opposite ends. They met Dusty Lola with Starla in front of her and Isebella behind her. Dusty Lola climbed back into the ring carrying the watermelon with her. The other two followed her in. Dusty Lola then rolled her melon to a neutral corner before turning to confront Starla and Isebella. She kept a special eye on Starla since she had the kendo stick.
The two of them stood in intense stances for a bit before Isebella turned and saw the Spike getting back up. She grabbed her team's kendo stick and started heading to Team Spirit's corner.
"Oh, no, you don't!" Isebella declared running after the Spike, who then swung her kendo stick. Thankfully, Isebella ducked and tackled the Spike's legs. That proved to be a mistake, however, as the Spike suddenly wrapped her legs around Isebella's head and squeezed her neck.
"Isebella!" Starla shouted. But her distraction soon costed her as Dusty Lola kicked her down to one knee. She then grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her making her drop the kendo stick.
Seeing her partner in a submission hold to, Isebella forced herself up and freed herself from the headscissors hold. She then turned around and kicked the Spike's kendo stick out of her hand when she stood back up. She then flipped herself forward and hit the Spike with a Pele kick.
With the Spike down, Isebella ran to Dusty Lola who prepared for her. But instead of falling for her trap, Isebella slid underneath her and grabbed the kendo stick before heading to the neutral corner where the melon was. Lola tried to stop her, but Starla grabbed her by her arm and kept her in place long enough for Isebella to smash the melon into pieces.
DING-DING!
"And that's the match, everybody!" Sayuri announced. "These two teams clashed again, and in the end, Team Spirit prevailed! Better luck next time for the Spike and Dusty Lola! Onto the next match then!"
*Viper Takagi vs Freya*
When both the previous teams left the ring, the next two contestents arrived. The first was the newest newcomer in Xtrema, Viper Takagi. The next was the polar powerhouse, Freya. Once they got in the ring, each of them wore two metal shoulder straps with the number 25 written on them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, who's up for a true test of strength?" Sayuri announced. "To represent the muscle beaches usually found on the shores, Xtrema has this match set up! These two heavyweights, Viper Takagi and Freya, will compete in a match that is normally standard rules, but with one additional rule: each of these ladies will wear these shoulder straps that each weigh 25 pounds. If one of them is ever removed, that woman will lose automatically! So let's get this match started!"
DING-DING!
Though their shoulders carried a heavy weight, Viper and Freya pulled on through and faced each other. They grabbed each other's hands and held on with a test of strength. Both gritted their teeth and fought to press on forward.
"I think you got the wrong holiday, Elsa." Viper said. "Isn't it a bit hot for you?"
"Consider this climate change!" Freya replied breaking the test of strength. She then grabbed Viper's head and bashed it onto her shoulder strap.
Viper stepped back disoriented from the attack. This gave Freya the chance she needed to grab her by her arm and throw her to the ropes. She waited for her to come back and hit her with a shoulder tackle. The metal shoulders added extra pressure to the tackle. She then hooked her leg for the pin.
1… 2…
Viper kicked out.
Freya turned Viper to face the mat and grabbed her legs with her arms. She sat on her back and pull her into a Boston crab. Viper gritted her teeth trying to escape the hold. She slowly pushed herself up and managed to throw Freya off of her with her legs.
Viper stood back up and turned to face Freya. Freya tried to tackle her again, but this time, Viper tackled back hitting her first. This time, though, Freya was pushed to the corner where Viper hit her with her shoulder repeatedly until the referee made her step back. Freya retaliated with a headbutt sending Viper down. She hooked her leg for a pin.
1… 2…
Again, Viper kicked out. Freya then forced her up her feet.
Freya continued to attack Viper with continuous elbow strikes to her chest, but the Japanese Amazon stood strong. Eventually, she grabbed Freya's arm with her own and returned her own headbutt. She then grabbed Freya's legs and made her fall on her back. She then crossed her own legs around her own and turned her over applying a sharpshooter. She pulled the legs hard making her opponent squirm. However, like Viper before, Freya mustered up enough strength to escape the hold.
Deciding that enough was enough, Freya turned to Viper and shot her elbow at her head. She then wrapped her arms around Viper's waist and held her up squeezing tightly in her finishing move, the Polar Bearhug.
Viper fought hard to resist the pain, but Freya's grip was too tight. She had no choice but to yell in pain. The referee asked if she gave up, but she gave no response. Soon, Viper came up with a solution. With her arms free, she slowly fought through the pain and grabbed onto the straps on Freya's shoulder weights loosening them. When Freya felt them, she gasped and released Viper to adjust them back on. Though, by the time she finished with that, Viper fixed her back and hit her with a knee strike to her stomach.
Viper picked Freya up and managed to trap her in a Canadian backbreaker. She gave one shoulder thrust to add a painful pressure thanks to her own weight. She then slammed Freya back down and extended her knee for her back to land on. With Freya stunned, Viper attempted her own pin.
1… 2…
This time, it was Freya who kicked out. She tried to stand back up, but her exhaustion plus her weights made it hard for her to stand back up. As such, Viper made it up way before her. Sure, she was tired too, but she still had the strength to stand back up. She then raised her fists only to slam them down on Freya's shoulder weights making her yell out in pain before Viper kicked her onto her back.
Viper then turned Freya over and applied a Boston crab, her signature move. She wretched hard on the hold positioning herself to make sure Freya doesn't budge a single inch. Freya tried to throw her off again, but didn't have the strength too. After a yell, Freya tapped her hand on the mat repeatedly.
DING-DING!
"We have our winner!" Sayuri announced. "Viper has been making strides to Xtrema since she signed up, and she really proved herself to be muscle beach material! What else can this Japanese Amazon show us? I'm sure we'll see later! For now, let's move onto the next match of the special!"
