A/N: Guess who's back, back again, Death Note's back, tell your friends. Hello everyone, thank you for tuning in, old and new readers alike. One year ago exactly, I finished Death Note: Light's Out, the sequel series to the anime starring Light and Misa's son that took me three years to finish exactly. One year later, I bring you more content as a way of saying thank you for all your support. Some of you wanted to see the adventures of Rain and ArchAngel and your wishes have been granted. Before we get started, I want to make some things clear from the get-go: this is NOT a sequel to Light's Out, this is simply a continuation - an expansion - of the epilogue. Think of it as a DLC taking place after the ending of your favorite video game. Like... Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or those DLCs taking place after Batman: Arkham Knight. Because this is not a sequel, it will not be as long as Light's Out; there will only be two arcs, and like before, each arc is 18 chapters long. I plan on posting three chapters a month every Saturday. I know that may seem slow but then again, I only have two arcs planned, which totals out to thirty-six chapters so I would rather not end it too quickly or too soon. Once again, thank you all for tuning in, and for those old readers, here are two more adventures from the Yagami family.

Rain Yagami: The eldest of the Yagami children who dons a permanent, emotionless look on her face.

Angel Yagami: The middle child and the older twin brother to Archer; the nicest one of the Yagami children.

Archer Yagami: The youngest child and the younger twin to Angel; ruthless and willing to kill first and ask questions later.

Hydra: A Royal Marine Brigadier.

Extended Summary

Five Years after the death of their parents, Rain and ArchAngel take up the mantle of Kira. The world seems to be doing fine with them keeping human conflict in check but emotions can only be bottled for so long before they explode. The Yagami children learn this the hard way when a brigadier in the Royal Marines declares war on Kira.

October 31st, 2050

The time for Kira's return had come at last. Rain, Archer, and Angel set up a desk for all three of them to write and they began killing criminals. Without hesitation from any of them, they thrust their pens and pencils to the paper and began writing as many names as fast as they can as hard as they could. Their eyes widened and their hearts pumped in their chests as they comprehended the fact that people were dropping dead of heart attacks. There were people screaming all over the globe and while they may not hear their cries and pleas of help, it brought them joy, at least to Archer, that they were all dying right then and there.

Angel slashed his pen across the page and a criminal fell over the roof. Archer slashed his pen in the opposite direction and a criminal gets hit by a car. Rain calmly slashes her pencil up a page and several inmates drop dead in prison.

After one hour passes, they flip through several more pages until they get to a blank one and start over.

"We..." Angel began.

"...are the gods..." Archer continued.

"...of the new world," Rain finished.

5 Years Later

October 27th, 2055

Sitting back in their chair after finishing writing their kills for the day, the Yagami children sigh heavily. Looking over, Rain spots her younger identical twin brothers taking sips of water, as if they had exhausted themselves for writing for the last five minutes.

"Another day, another kill." Archer sits up, closing his notebook. "Well then, now that that is done, if you don't need me anymore, bye-bye."

Without talking, Angel gets up and follows his brother.

Rain sits in her apartment building in absolute silence.

Her shinigami materializes before her.

"Hard day at work?" Gintik Hagmay snarks. "Because writing is such a pain in the Shinigami realm."

"Laziness," Rain snarks. "I keep forgetting that the standards between humans and shinigami are astronomically different."

"In a cosmic sense."

Rain lifts her knees before standing up. Gathering the three notebooks, she puts them away in the secret hiding place before heading back down.

Seeing her brothers put on their jackets, they wave to her.

"We're going to a bar," Archer tells her.

"Stay out of not trouble, Archer. Angel, stay out of trouble."

Angel nods nervously. "Sure."

"And don't drink too much," Rain reminds them, "it would be a spit in the face of Kira if one of you died of liver disease of all things."

"Don't worry sis, dying of heart disease is already on our bucket list." He looks to Angel. "Right?"

Rain looks over at them. In the five years since they became the new Kira of the world, their appearance changed drastically. Reign 'Rain' Yagami is now a 22-year-old woman with short red, still retaining her blue eyes. She wears a gray leather jacket.

Anjewel 'Angel' Yagami and Ark 'Archer' Yagami are 21-year-old twins with medium-length strawberry-blonde hair and green eyes. To distinguish themselves, Archer has a beard, despite being the younger twin, and Angel has a five o'clock shadow. Archer wears black clothing, Angel wears white.

Rain checks her watch. "Hey, do you care to trouble yourselves and let me go to the bar with you?"

"Knock yourself out, sis. Better yet, I can knock you out for you."

"Ask me again when you're older than me, bowman."

Rain grabs her jacket before throwing it on. Walking out of the door, she tightly locks the door to their apartment building. She waits patiently as Gintik Hagmay comes out, flying after them.

Walking down the street, the three siblings pause at an intersection and look over at a preacher on the street, handing out books. Rain silently takes one and looks it over.

'Kirn - How a Killer Became Religion'

Rain takes out a thousand yen and hands it to him.

The preacher takes the money. "I can't accept this miss; I'm giving these out for free."

"Kira would approve." She takes two more books from the preacher and hands them to her younger brothers. ArchAngel tucks the books away while Rain opens a book and reads to herself.

She puts the book away in her jacket pocket before they arrive at their destination.

The three siblings hop into a bar and pay for a couple of drinks.

The bartender looks over at Rain, smiling at her. "Hello, miss, what can I get for you today?"

"Cranberry juice, please."

"Cranberry juice? Lady, this is a bar."

"Okay then, cranberry juice on the rocks. Shaken, not stirred, please."

"We'll have some bourbon then." Archer leans forward. "The strongest bourbon you got."

Rain looks at him. Archer looks over. Even with her emotionless expression, he flinches. "On second thought, we'll settle for some grenadine."

"Gaijin," the bartender says. "The three of you are gaijin."

"We're natives," Angel explains, "just half-Japanese."

"Gaijin." The bartender serves up their drink orders. "40,000 yen."

"Too much," Rain says.

"Pay up, gaijin."

Rain scoffs. "That's not going to happen, Susumu Yasuda."

The bartender pauses. "How do you know my name?"

"I've seen your social media posts."

"Did I friend you on Facebook or something? Which fake profile did you use?"

"I'm sure Kira doesn't appreciate racism." Rain grabs her cranberry juice and takes a sip. "He probably won't kill you for racism but charging us more for drinks just because we're half-Japs is something he wouldn't approve of. We could put your name on the Internet and let him decide. Do you want that to happen, Yasuda?"

"Screw you Kira fanatics; you know Kira is a murderer, right?"

"What's worse, a murderer or a racist?" Rain takes another sip.

"Fine. But fuck all three of you."

Rain pays the usual price for the drinks. "Thank you, now have a good night. Oh and... make sure to take your heart medicine in case Kira decides to give you a heart attack."

The bartender walks off.

Angel turns to her sister. "How did you know about his Facebook?"

"I didn't, I said 'social media', not 'Facebook', he gave it away."

Gintik Hagymay flies over the bar, looking over the alcohol bottles on the shelves. Looking around to make sure the cameras aren't in view, he knocks over a bottle of expensive champagne.

The bartender groans before picking up a broom. "400,000 yen bottle of champagne, all gone."

Archer laughs. "Serves you right, bitch."

Rain takes another sip of her drink before turning over to the TV, watching a live news reporter from Sakura TV.

"What more could be done by Kira?" the spokesperson on Sakura TV asks a man wearing a white Kira cloak sitting in a leather chair. "It's been almost fifty years since Kira first showed up on the scene and the world has never looked so different before. I wasn't born before Kira's reign and I've grown up, knowing nothing but Kira and his judgment. My question is, what more can be done by Kira?"

"Could you elaborate?" the Kira follower asks. "I don't think Kira needs to do more. Look at the world the way it is today: crimes are practically nonexistent, worldwide gangs are in disarray, and there has been a war of any kind, civil or world war. And not only that, but the economy is benefiting from Kira's presence. Everybody remembers the Kira Bubble from 2022 but look at the economy worldwide. Politicians, and governments, are saving millions in currency from having Kira carry out all the killing. We save money because there's no reason to strengthen militaries or design execution chambers, everything is becoming a better place."

"Soon, everyone will only know Kira," Rain mentions. She takes another sip. "The people born before Kira's time will soon die out. Sooner or later, the only ones who will remain on this earth are people born after Kira's reign. This is truly a new era: Kira's Era."

"I'll drink some sugary syrup to that." Archer holds his glass up. "To Kira's reign."

The three siblings clink their glasses before downing the rest of their beverages.

Paying a few tips to the racist bartenders, the three siblings walk out of the bar an hour later. Packing up their leftovers in a take-home bag, they leave the bar, cutting through an alleyway. Stopping at the intersection from before, they blink rapidly when they see a man standing near a red car holding a baseball bat.

"You filthy cheating pig!" The man whacks the car with the bat like a baseball player. He aims for the rear lights before turning his attention to the rear window. Once the window was taken care of, he turned to the sideview mirror on the right side of the car. His final target was the sunroof.

Rain sighs heavily before stuffing her right hand into her pocket. There is a slit on the inside of her pocket with a piece of paper and pencil sticking out. Taking them out of the slip, she keeps the paper and pencil in her pocket. Activating her Shinigami eyes, she writes on the paper on the inside of her pocket.

Hotaka.

"Sir, you're committing a crime," Rain tells him.

The man with the bar looks at her. "Shut up; this filthy bitch was fucking cheating on me!"

"Destroying someone's car is a crime."

"And so is adultery, bitch."

Rain finishes writing the name on the inside of her pocket.

Hotaka Koyama - Disease

Rain looks at her brothers. "Let's just go."

"Can we go home?" Angel begs.

"No. There is someone we need to visit."

Graveyard

The alarm on Rain's wristwatch goes off. Without looking, she cancels the alarm. With nowhere to stash their food, they hold their backs in their hands as they walk across the graveyard with flowers in their hands.

They stop in front of five graves.

Light Yagami.

Misa Amane-Yagami.

Knight Yagami.

Iris Abernathy-Yagami.

Yuri Kuroki.

Angel steps towards the graves, holding white flowers in his hand. He heads over to his mom's grave. "Hey, Mom, how are you doing?" He kneels. "In case you're wondering, yes, I've been taking care of Archer, even against his will." He manages to chuckle. "I know Heaven and Hell don't exist but... it feels nice talking to you, even if... I'm talking to nothing." He looks up into the sky. "It's the five-year anniversary since you died. I miss you every day and... I keep hoping for the day you reincarnate into a shinigami and visit us on Earth."

"Mom will become a Shinigami." Archer kneels beside his brother. "I promise you, big brother. Mom, Dad, Aunty Kuroki will all become Shinigami and they'll come down to earth one day."

Rain looks over to Gintik Hagmay standing beside her.

"After all," Rain begins, "our father is a Shinigami."

Gintik Hagmay laughs. "You can't kill the Yagamis so easily."

Archer looks over to Gintik Hagmay. "Did Mom become a Shinigami yet? Aunty Kuroki?"

"Who knows?" Gintik Hagmay shrugs. "Possibly. I'll have to go back to the Shinigami realm to confirm but that would mean having you guys forfeit your notebooks to do so and I doubt Rain would want to cut her lifespan in half again."

"Nope," Rain answers, "my brothers would dehydrate without good old Rain here."

"We will wait," Angel insists to the graves, "we'll wait as long as it takes. Sooner or later, Mom and Aunty Kuroki will come back to us as Shinigami. Right?"

Gintik Hagmay shrugs. "Let's hope and pray."

Angel rests flowers down on his mother's grave. "We miss you every day, Mom." He looks up to the sky. "If you're watching from the portal, Mom, we'll always be waiting for you. You too, Aunty Kuroki."

Archer looks up to the sky, nodding. "We promise to keep these graves fresh with souls of the evil for you." Archer sets red flowers down on Kuroki's grave.

Rain looks up at Gintik Hagmay before putting the blue flowers down on Knight's grave. She looks up at the sky. "Also, if you're listening, Mom, Aunty Kuroki, tell Grandma and Grandpa we miss them." Rain stands up. "In a way, I feel sorry for those people praying to God and dreaming of Heaven and Hell."

"God, the Devil, Heaven, Hell, none of them exist," Archer says. He gets to his feet, helping his brother up. "But Kira does exist."

Rain nods. "We really are gods, little bowman."

Gintik Hagmay places a hand on Rain's shoulder. "I saw what you did with that guy bashing that girl's car. You shouldn't have done that."

Rain looks at her. "And why is that?"

"Oh Rain, sweet Rain, always cunning, but never emotional; you never did possess basic emotional intelligence. We can't force people to deny them their emotions. Think about it; by denying them the ability to express themselves, we run the risk of creating more impulsive crimes. Allow human beings to express a little anger but don't make them forget that there are consequences."

Rain stares at the shinigami, her perpetual emotionless expression remaining on her face. "I guess it makes sense." She grabs her brother's arms. "Come on, it's time to go home; we got school in the morning."

As her brothers walk away, she turns and looks up in the sky, seeing a half-moon. Sighing heavily, Rain blinks twice before walking after her brothers.

Brussels, Belgium

When world leaders receive an invitation for a meetup at headquarters, they meet. The presidents or rulers of the country are too busy so they send proxies. Some of the guests are also military, and that's where General Hydra comes in.

Brigadier Hydra, a tall man around the age of sixty, wears a British general uniform. He combs a hand through his salt-and-pepper hair as he takes a seat with other British armed forces officers by his side, mostly from the Royal Marines.

Sitting in a room similar to the ICPO headquarters, the military generals and proxies take their seats at their appointed tables and put on headphones to help translate their sentences to the room and all foreigners.

"We called this meeting," the host of the meeting says into his microphone, standing on a podium, "because there is growing concern. There is growing concern for tensions, tensions existing in Europe, Asia, and North America." He pulls out some index cards. "It seems some countries that have a seat at NATO have been expanding their nuclear arsenal without permission. Does anyone here care to object to these rumors?"

"There is nothing wrong with building up our army and expanding our weapons!" a Scottish general yells. "We have every right to defend ourselves."

"The deal we made with each other when Kira came into existence was that nuclear weapons wouldn't be produced anymore," the host argues. "Why are there countries producing more nuclear weapons? Why?"

"I fail to see the point of this meeting," a Denmark general yells. "SO what if a country builds one or two nukes."

"Nukes are only to be used as a last resort," an American general says. "Let's all not forget that little incident with the first Kira back in 2012."

"2012 was a long time ago," a Canadian colonel snarks. "I'm sure your memory is foggy."

"I'm not the one going senile, Colonel Canada." The American general turns back to the host. "Kira - or at the very least, someone who had Kira's power - called the president and made threats and demands that if he failed to follow through, Kira's power would be used to start World War 3. Controlling someone to use nukes I believe is what the threat was."

"And that's why we need to keep our nuclear arsenal down to a minimum," the host informs them. "We can't afford to have Kira getting access to our nukes. Kira could very well start World War 3 if he wanted to."

"Kira can indeed instigate World War 3 but Kira focuses exclusively on criminals."

"It is also something to point out that Kira stopped wars all over the globe."

"And what about when Kira went AWOL for seventeen years?" a colonel in the crowd originating from Switzerland yells. "When Kira was gone, crime rates skyrocketed for seventeen years and we were almost on the brink of war ourselves. And when Kira disappeared again for two years around seven years ago... crime rates were on the rise. It took longer because of Kira's Extermination Day but crime rates were on the rise once more."

"It seems to me that Kira is the problem," Brigadier Hydra says. "Kira is the problem with everything." He stands up, addressing all the guests in the room. "This is what happens when one person has too much power; we need to take that power away from him." He clenches his fists. "Let's be real, all of this. Transparency, cards on the table, complete, utter, honesty." He pauses for a moment. "World War 3 is going to start any minute now. World War 3 is on the rise and we cannot prepare ourselves, no matter how much training, time, and effort we put into preparing, we will never be able to face World War 3 head-on. But at the same time, I understand human conflict; human conflict is human nature and we can't fight it. We must embrace it."

"What the hell are you saying?" the American general says.

"We must face this conflict, embrace it, but we can't afford that luxury with Kira around." He unclenches his fists. "Kira has instilled a sense of paranoia within all of us. We're so focused on what Kira wants that we fail to pay attention and keep track of what our allies and enemies are building and making progress on. However, with Kira being gone, we can make progress because we don't have to worry about one person having too much power. Discretion and deception are what is going to lead to a devastating World War 3 that could wipe us out. But... if we defeat Kira once and for all, we can de-escalate any street our enemies may face. We can work on being transparent; we no longer have to work about secretly expanding our nuclear arsenal in case Kira vanishes again for a few more years."

The American general stands up. "Brigadier Hydra, are you seriously suggesting that we go to war with Kira?"

Brigadier Hydra laughs. "No. All of us going to war would be overkill; we only need one branch of the armed forces going after Kira. He smiles. "This is all for the sake of preventing a deadly World War 3 that could cause a nuclear holocaust. I don't know about you guys but I could definitely get behind the wheel of a World War 3 if it means there's a chance that there's a World War 4."

"Why?" the host demands.

"If there's a World War 4, it means humanity survived World War 3."

October 31st, 2055

The kids stop coming to their house for trick-or-treating around nine o'clock. The last set of kids to arrive wear ghost costumes. Angel opens the door, wearing an angel costume, while Archer comes to the door, dressed like a demon with eight eyes on its face.

After closing the door and turning off the porch light, they save the last bag of candy for themselves, filled with a variety of candies like Snickers, Twix, Hersehys, etc.

Rain sits down on the couch with her Death Note in hand, looking up criminals on the TV and writing their names down.

Angel tosses some cookies and creme Hersey's over to Rain, who catches one without looking. Angel then heads into the kitchen and serves up a caramel apple to Gintik Hagmay. He serves up some Grenadine for himself and his younger twin brother.

"Anyone in a mood for eyeballs?" Archer asks. He holds up a plate with deviled eggs decorated to look like eyeballs.

"Feeding us eyeballs?" Rain asks without looking. "Have you forgotten what Rook tried to make us? And what he tried to feed us?"

Before any more snarks can be exchanged, the television switches to a news segment. A Japanese man fills the screen.

"We're sorry to interrupt your program. We now bring you live news footage from a worldwide broadcast. A military officer wishes to address Kira."

Rain and ArchAngel look at the screen. "What?" the three look confused.

Brigadier Hydra stands in front of a podium as the camera pans in on him at NATO headquarters. "So I'm on TV, hi Mom, hi Dad." He clears his throat as he laces his fingers together. "Hello, Kira, forgive me for I don't speak Japanese but I'm sure the subtitles are on your TV right now so I'll cut to the chase. I am Hydra of the Royal Marines." He smiles. "Yes, you heard me, the Roya Marines. And as you noticed, I'm not wearing a mask because I believe in transparency." He clears his throat again. "Kira, I just wanted to make a statement about how you have affected wars around the world. Yes, while crime rates have gone down because of you and wars have started, other consequences have been set in motion. Because of you, in the most ironic twist ever, World War 3 is on the rise." He smiles once more. "Yes, you heard me: World War fuckin' 3. You can kill all the criminals you want Kira but you cannot stop conflict because conflict is human nature. Hell, anybody with half a brain cell - no, a quarter brain cell - would agree with me. That is why, I am here to declare war."

"I ready know where this is going." Rain sighs heavily, activating her Shinigami Eyes. She writes the man's name down in the notebook. "See you later, Rick Smith."

"What if it is a fake?" Archer asks.

"It's public knowledge that Kira is Japanese and living in the Kanto region so there's no point for trickery," she reasons.

"I checked," Angel begins, "this is indeed a live worldwide broadcast so there is no trick."

"Kira," Brigadier Hydra begins. "You may think I am a bad guy for saying this but I am doing what's best for mankind, to give us a future to make sure there is a war for us to find afterward. Kira, you must be eliminated, killed, and destroyed to allow us humans to fight in peace. We must destroy ourselves so we can survive; we can't have one person controlling our wards. That is why I make this declaration before you."

He looks into the camera fiercely look. "Kira, on behalf of the British Royal Marines, I-"

THUN-THUMP!

Brigadier Hydra clutches his chest, groaning in pain, his face contorting as he collapses.

Several crewmen quickly rush to catch Brigadier Hydra as he collapses and drags his corpse away.

"War," Rain shakes her head like a disappointed mother. "You don't know what's good for humanity."

"I declare war!"

the Yagami children look at the screen in surprise as another old man steps up.

"As of this moment," the stand-in continues, "we will wage war against Kira."

Rain quickly writes his name down and specifies for him to die in the next ten seconds of a heart attack.

THUN-THUMP!

The stand-in simply collapses, falling over.

Another person steps in. "And we will not stop until we have won. Kira vs the British Royal Marines. Kira, you may have taken out all kinds of criminals int eh past but can you handle-"

THUN-THUMP!

Another person steps in. "Can you handle the military? Let's find out for ourselves." The stand-in smiles. "We'll see you later, Kira, and hopefully, with a gun to your head."

THUN-THUMP!

One more person. "The war between Kira and the British Royal Marines begins... now."

The live feeds cut off, and the original programming returns to the TV.

"OH my god," Angel gasps. "What the hell was that?"

"Suicide cult?" Archer suggests.

"No." Rain puts a hand on her forehead. "A new enemy. Someone hates the way we operate and now..."

"I told you." Gintik Hagmay materializes beside them. "People will develop homicidal impulses if bottled up for too long; they need a release every now and then."

"This isn't the purge," she argues.

"No, but it is war." The Shinigami smiles. "And given what we saw, it looks like this Brigadier Hydra is not a single person but..."

"An identity," Rain finishes. "That means..."

"If we kill them..." Archer continues.

"Another will just replace them," Angel concludes.

"And they've declared war on us." Rain wipes the sweat off her forehead. "The British Royal Marines are going to wage war on us?" She runs a hand through her hair, taking a bite of her cookies and creme Hersehy's bar. "They waged war on the wrong siblings."

Gintik Hagmay looks over at the three children, smiling.

The British Royal Marines are on a mission to wage war with Kira. While Kira has the advantage of a supernatural notebook, this Brigadier Hydra guy is not one person and is an identity that people take up. This means that if they kill Hydra, another will take his place. You can kill a man but you cannot kill an identity. A god in human flesh vs a mantle anyone can take up. This is going to be such an interesting battle. Man, what would I do if I were alive and in this situation? Eh, I guess it doesn't really matter; this is a situation for my children to handle.

Rain stands up, facing her brothers. "Are you guys ready to go to war?"

"Kira vs the military?" Archer laughs at the top of his lungs. "How can I resist?!"

Angel looks over. "If... someone's gotta keep you guys in line... so..."

For the first time in a long time, the perpetual emotionless Rain looks over to her brothers... and smiles. "Good. Now then, 'Operation: Kill the Brigade' beings now."
