"I should probably tell you all, I have another crush." Tails admits as soon as she and her two friends come back to the table where all the others are. Even Silver now, who doesn't appreciate how annoying some people apparently think they are.
"Wow, you move on fast" Marine jokes, earning herself an elbow from Cream.
"Tell us about them Tails." Cream says.
"Well, his name is Kitsunami, he very shy, and cute and-"
"Get to the point, Tails." Blaze says.
"He has a… sister? I think they're related? Doesn't matter, she's very protective of him and he always hangs around her. I honestly don't think he would leave her side if he didn't have too."
"Huh, weird, so what are you going to do about it?" Amy asks
"Either get him away from her or find some way to talk to him in private."
"Do you have any classes with him?"
"One but usually we do work there and we don't talk that much."
"How did you even get to like this guy?" Marine questions
"Um, well… it's complicated?"
"Why did that sound like a question?" Blaze asks.
"I have no idea how I started to like him." Tails confesses and puts her head on the table in defeat.
"Well that sounds impossible." Blaze says.
"I know." Tails says with her chin on the table, then face palming into the table again. Cream looks at her sadly.
"Well we can at least try, right?" Cream says. Looking at everyone else.
"Sure, it'll be funny, I guess." Blaze says.
The next day the seven regroup and hype up Tails to go and talk to Kit. They find where Surge and Kit are sitting.
"This is going to go horribly." Tails says on the corner between them and Surge and Kit.
"You'll be fine, trust me" Amy says
"Okay!" Tails pumps herself out and walks out.
Surge ironically enough passes them, probably to go to the bathroom or something. She look weirdly at them, which makes sense given that they're six random people standing in the middle of the hallway.
Blaze walks out despite everyone else's discretion. Watching Tails talking to Kit. Trying to spit something out. Amy follows her not too much later. Seeing the display shown. They would laugh if it wasn't so embarrassing.
Surge comes back while Tails is still struggling to say anything. Kit looks extremely worried at the other. Surge looks at the scene. Then at Blaze and Amy in a 'are you seeing this?' kind of look. The two look back. Surge approaches them.
"What is she trying to do?" Surge asks
"Confess to him." Blaze says.
"Wow, that's just…"
"Pathetic?" Amy elbows Blaze for that
"It's sad" Amy says
The three stand there for a bit longer. Blaze smirking, Amy looking concerned and Surge looking confused. Kit and Tails still don't seem to notice them. Tails keeps trying to sputter out words. Breathing then sputtering out more words. At least she's persistent.
"Are you okay?" Kit asks.
"No." Tails says in response.
"What are you trying to tell me?"
"I like you. Wow, that was a lot easier than I thought it would be."
Kit laughs while Tails rubs the back of her head in embarrassment.
"I mean I wasn't ever going to tell you, too nervous to, but I like you too." Kit says to the absolute shock of Tails.
"Really?"
"Given your nervousness I get it, but yes." Kit laughs a bit.
"Wow…. What do we do now?" Tails questions, Kit looks around.
"Well, oh hey Surge!"
Tails turns to see a smiling Amy, a smug Blaze and a neutral Green person. Kit takes Tails' hand and takes her to the three. Forcing Tails to interact with Surge.
"Hey Surge! Who are these two?"
"Two other people watching her embarrass herself" Surge says, pointing to Tails.
"Were you also doing that?" Kit questions.
"Yes" Surge says flatly, which makes Kit laugh, and embarrasses Tails. But she's more scared than embarrassed at this point.
"Well this is the girl I was talking about." Kit says gesturing over to Tails.
"Nice to finally meet this girl" Surge says and crouches down to Tails' height, which frightens the latter.
"So, what's your name?" Surge asks, staring through Tails' soul
"Tails."
"Alright" Surge backs up back to a more normal position
"Well, now you've met my Big sister!" Kit says excitedly to his girlfriend, who looks scared out of her mind.
"Yeah I sure have."
"Well, um, see you later?"
"Yea-Yeah, absolutely."
Tails opens her arms for a hug, which Kit immediately takes and holds.
"Alright, see you later!" Kit says and he and Surge go back to their place. Tails stands shocked for a second then goes back to the group, Amy and Blaze follow her back.
"That went good, right?" Cream asks.
"I am scared out of my mind." Tails admits.
"I would be too" Marine says
"I wouldn't." Knuckles says. Nobody responds to him.
"That wasn't too bad, right Amy?" Blaze asks, Amy looks lost in thought.
"…Um… yeah! Not scary! She seems nice actually!"
Tails looks at Amy flabbergasted, the rest besides Blaze look varying degrees of shock at her response. But the group moves from that quickly, going back to the table to celebrate Tails' success in love. After that it's the same process, go on buses then go home.
Tails can't believe she has a boyfriend. Someone who actually wanted to date her. She has a huge burden off her shoulders. Nobody can take this away from her now. She has someone that loves her. After all this time. Not too many rejections. She can't believe it.
Kit is so happy. Surge is happy for her little brother. She only hopes that she treats him right. Also that she hopes that Pink Hedgehog is single. She's cute. So was that Lavender Cat, shame she didn't get their names. But she'll fine them, it'll be good. She helps Kit get to bed with his excitement, then goes to bed herself.
