How did this happen?
They were doing so well.
Where did that attack come from?
"HINATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" after the beam of light disappeared, they all can see Hinata standing there. Her reinforced clothes are tattered and ripped in some places. As for Hinata herself, she was standing there leaning left and right before the condensed air she was standing on faded.
When Hinata started falling Meld instantly dashed with all his speed to catch her. After Aiko and Kuzeli, Hinata had thought it was a good idea to have some of the ambrosia to be in Meld's possession instead of just her.
Thank goodness she did.
He takes one of the bottle containing ambrosia and feed it to the injured girl as everyone gather around them. Hinata was still somewhat conscious to swallow it. However it seems the wound might've been too severe. Meld quickly casted a healing spell, he might not have been as good as Seiji but he can still help Hinata. But as he did..
"From above!" Tio shouted another beam of light was coming at them. He quickly using his dragon wing that he had partially brought and had tried to stop the attack wth a beam of his own.
The beam of light managed to overpower his blast. Akira castedHallowed Groundcreating a barrier in front of Tio and had managed withstood the blast but not without trouble. And when they were all trying to recover...
"You are all indeed strong. It was right to plant an ambush here." They looked up at the source of the voice. They widened their eyes at not one not two but amny flying dragons.
The one at front had stood out having a white color as opposed to the others. And on it is man or more precisely a demon with long red hair dressed in armor.
"You are all dangerous, especially that girl and that man. She managed to survive a blast from Uranos. Those weapons and that power...what are you?" They all remained silent and kept glaring at the demon. "Did you clear ancient labyrinths? What magic did you learn? Tell me before you die."
Instead of an answer he was replied by a bullet which he simply dodged by tilting his head.
"Dang, you blasted me, demanded answers, and say you were gonna kill us." Hinata had somewhat recovered. Even with all that injury she can still grin.
"Hinata!" They said with relief.
"And here I thought I was rude. How about a name asshole?"
"I don't see any reason I should give you my name when you're near at death's door."
"I can say the same thing. How's your friend's arm doing, I'd love to do the same thing to you " She was referring to the sniper that had shot Aiko and that seemed to have gotten to the demon.
"I've changed my mind. My name is Freid Bagwa and I'm god's disciple. I am here to to punish heretic"
"God's disciple? Puh-lease" Hinata spat. "Calling yourself that just because you know gods age magic ? Honestly, you don't tame monsters, you make them don't you? The monsters we faced before definitely screamed abnormality."
"You guessed well and for your information,hebestowed this power to me, and he also referred to me as his disciple. So I will do his bidding and if you get in my way I will annihilate you."
"THAT'S MY LINE ASSHOLE!" She brings out her missile launcher, Shu fired his grenades, Akira and Meld summoned a lighting and wind dragon and Tio shot his purple flames.
Freid merely stood still as some of the other dragon flew in front. They were pretty far before, but now that they're at front, they can see that the dragons had some turtles on their backs. Turtles with glowing shells similar to gems. As their shells glow a barrier manages to tank the onslaught from the party.
"Do not think I am limited to dragons. Let me show you my other power."
'Crap does he have another ancient magic?' Hinata internally panicked. 'Gotta stop him.'
Hinata gets her sick as hell railgun and fires as soon as possible. It managed to break through the barrier vaporizing the dragons and turtles together.
But then they something unnerving, Freid was gone along with his dragon.
"Where did he-"
Just then Shu's clairvoyance activated. "Behind us!"
He shouted. They all turn around seeing Freid's firing firing the same blast from before.
Meld quickly pulls out the shield Hinata had given him. He didn't have time to set it on the ground. So he had to hold it steady by his own strength and try to redirect it, luckily he had plenty of strength and succeeds in his objective.
"You did well, you had enough strength to block Uranos's attack, but you won't survive the next-"
BANG
This time he narrowly dodged the bullet. He sees Hinata holding a massive sniper rifle, of course he didn't know what that is.
"Just try and shoot, I'll do the same."
"Hinata, try not to move while you're still recovering. Just focus on taking down those other dragons with Akira and Hinata. I will handle him." Meld ordered, Hinata noticed the emphasis he put on that last sentence and reluctantly agrees.
"Tch fine."
"Hmph, you're arrogance will be your downfall, Uranos!" The dragon readies itself but so did Meld.
"GET AWAY FROM THEM!" Uranos instinctively evade a strike that came from their left. Freid's eyes widened at the owner of the claws that had almost hit them. "A black dragon?!"
It was Tio in his full dragon form. The same form that fought against her allies back in Ur. "YOU WILL NOT HARM MY MASTER ANYMORE!"
"Grr URANOS!" Both dragons readies their breath and fires. As the dragon breaths clashed Freud was about mag-
"Not happening" Freid turns and sees Meld with his sword coated with bursting winds. Freid tries to block it with magic but Meld's strength easily broke through it with one swing. He deals a fatal blow Freid and the winds he created covered the demons with cuts on his skins and clothes.
Not giving him a moment to think Meld raises his leg kicking the demon as hard as he can while his face was filled with anger. Although Meld had chose to take on the quest of clearing the labyrinths he had his initial desire to protect his kingdom from the invading demons.
But this rage had nothing to do with that, he just wanted to make this guy suffer for what he did to Hinata.
Uranos notices his rider getting sent flying, giving Tio the perfect distraction to land a hit on the white dragon, which happened after Meld jumped off.
Freid gets caught by one of his other dragons and Meld is caught by Tio. Meld then summoned a wind dragon and Tio unleashed another breath. Freid was quickly protected by the same turtles from before.
"Impressive, you have such power and was still able to cast such a powerful spell." He raises his hand and goes back to Uranos who has recovered. "I didn't want to use this but perhaps it would be worth it." He snaps his fingers.
All of a sudden they all felt a tremor. The magma around started to move and rise.
"What the fuck did you do?!" Hinata shouted.
"The Gruen Volcano, though active has not erupted even once. That is because of the keystone that suppresses the lava."
"Keystone? Then..."
"Yes, I have destroyed the keystone. Soon this place and all of you will be destroyed." Freid pulls out a circular connected to a string from under his armor. The necklace he was holding glowed for a second. Then a hole suddenly opened on the top of the cavern and Freid quickly flew into it.
Tio tried to give pursuit but was intercepted by a barrage of dragon breaths. Meld quickly puts up a barrier.
"They're doing all they can to keep us here." Meld kept racking his brain, too man stuff was filling his head making him not able to think straight. But fortunately there was someone who did.
Tio was confused when he suddenly felt something around his large dragon finger. He looks down and sees a familiar ring, The Treasure Trove.
Meld also notices the ring and they both turn to Hinata "Tio take the Treasure Trove and go back to Ankaji."
"HUH?!" Tio was a bit heartbroken. "Master, are you saying I am not fit to stick with you till the end."
"Shut up dumbass! Stop talking like we're gonna die here. As regretful as it is I made a promise...and I never break a promise...and I'm not gonna start now."
Tio was still unsure "BUT..."
"She's right" Meld interjected. "I don't think its possible for us to cling on to you while trying to block all these attacks." Meld deactivates the barrier. "Besides, we haven't gotten what we came here for." Meld jumps off to the pillar the others were on. "So go on, we'll cover you, and whatever you do, don't look back!"
With nothing more holding him back the dragon quickly rushes to the exit. His allies covering him in any way they can.
"Asura." Akira created a black hole to protect Tio by absorbing to the blasts, the others shooting down as many dragons that they can. Hinata even sent up her drones to aid him.
Of course he was out of view he was on his own. Tio kept moving forward no matter how many times he got hit. He was used to pain in fact he enjoyed but he is not upset when his master's drones protect him.
He managed to make it out where Freud was still there. As much as he wants rip the man to shreds he has his orders. But Freid wasn't gonna let him follow it. "Tch, that dragon made it out. But with those injuries he won't survive a blast from Uranos." Said dragon was readying another but then Freid notices Hinata's drones surrounding him and explodes.
Hinata smiles while watching through her goggles. Who said a self destruct function was a bad idea? She puts her goggles away and feast her eyes on the tall stone building in front her.
When the magma had started rising, they had to make their way to the center pillar. Hinata was carried by Meld due to her injuries, despite her complaints. In the center pillar the dome made of magma had dissapeared and revealed the building in fron of them.
The group walks in closing the gate shut after. They go down the stairs and find a big empty with the magic circle inside. Just like the other two labyrinths the magic circles imprints an ancient magic on their brains.
"Spatial magic, that's how that son a bitch appeared behind us." The wall in front of them glowed with words that became engraved on it.
I wish for a future where humanity is free.
Naiz Gruen
"That's it? Cool." No hologram or long sappy stories. If it wasn't for a certain somebody this might've been the best labyrinth so far. A compartment opens on the wall. Akira reaches in and pulls out a round necklace that had a drawing of a woman with what seems to be a lantern in front of her.
"Looks like this is the proof of conquest." He goes over to Hinata and wraps it around her neck.
"Great, matching necklace with a jackass." It was the same necklace Freid had used to open that pathway.
"So Hinata, what's your plan to get out of here?" Akira asked. "Spatial Magic seems complicated, I do not think we can use it right now."
"Don't worry I got a plan. Before I gave Tio the Treasure Trove I pulled something out. I put it in the magma so that asshole didn't see it."
"Are you calling him something different every time?"
"Not important."
"So what did you leave? Wouldn't it have been melted by now?"
"Oh it's a little something to help us for the next labyrinth, Sunken Ruins of Melusine. And it's made of azanthium so it won't melt." She already knew that azanthium can withstand the heat. The makeshift boat she created before was coated with azanthium and was able to float in magma without any trouble.
"Anyway, this is gonna sound crazy but we need to go straight through the magma so I need you two." she points at Akira and Meld. "To keep up a barrier till we can find the thing I left. So what do you say?" She was expecting their faces to be filled with uncertainty but instead all she saw were smiles.
"Let's do it!"
"I'll follow you anywhere."
"You haven't disappointed me before."
Hinata wasn't sure what she was feeling over hearing those words. But she didn't care right now. They made their way to the door. Akira and Meld sets up the barrier and the gate opens and the magma comes in. In a single second they were completely surrounded in lava.
Meld and Akira focused on maintaining and navigate the barrier with Hinata pointing the they find it...but the guys had no idea what it is.
"Boys, you're looking at Tortus's first ever submarine." Of course the submarine didn't look like a regular oval shaped one. With Hinata's design it looked like it came straight from a sci fi movie. They get to the Submarine's hatch pushing the lava away pulling it into the barrier.
Hinata rushes to the control room. As they do Meld can't help but marvel at another one of Hinata's creations. When did she have the time to build this?
Hinata quickly sits in the captain's seat and tries to steer the submarine up but failed "Crap we can't swim up, the magma's to strong. We're going down!"
"W-what we're going even lower?" Shu panicked. "Aren't we gonna end up buried under tons of lava?!"
"Not really, the bottom of the volcano has to be connected to somewhere." Meld explained.
"Yeah, but whatever that is we have no choice but to go there." Hinata added.
Akira places his hand on Hinata with a confident. "No matter where it is, we will go there together."
"Yeah we'll get through this." Shu said regaining his confidence.
With that they all go to the unknown.

That word kept repeating itself in his head. He ignored his wounds and the sandstorm but his body couldn't do the same. He falls to the ground "*pant* *pant* Damm white dragon." He cursed. "Master forgive me."
He brings out one of Hinata's Ambrosia and swallows it crushing the bottle with his teeth. He got back to the air and hope Hinata won't get angry at him for that...or maybe she will.
Ankaji was in his sight and vice versa. He internally apologize to the citizens and charge forward. Breaking Ankaji's barrier Tio aimed his crash landing to make sure no one was hurt. He also crashed near a building where a certain priest was.
"What's going on?" Said Priest runs outside to the crash site. He witnesses dragon wings return to the body of a man he knows. "Tio!" Seiji rushes to his aid trying to heal his wounds. Tio stops him informing him that he has drunk one of Hinata's potion. Seiji asks where the others were but Tio urges him to prioritize the citizens.
Seiji agrees and so he proceeds to grind all the stillstones to a powder which will to be used to make a concoction to cure the that Tio tells him of what occured in the volcano. "So Hinata and the others..."
"Master did not lay out the details, but I can assume that they made it out." If anybody can survive those odds, it's his master. Tio can see clear distress on the boy's face and decided to say something comforting "Seiji, Master had ordered me to tell you that shepromisesto see you and Moku later."
"Eh, she said that?" Seiji starts to smile. "Then that means they are a fine." Tio's word was the only confirmation he needed.
"Ok then let's get to it." Seiji runs off and Tio nods and follows.
First they had to inform Moku. The child immediately cried for his "mother" but Tio comforted the child and managed to convince him to be patient.
Lanzwi had approached Tio about his other form. Which Tio apologized for hiding with a bit concern as to what the people of Ankaji think of a dragonman standing amongst them. To the dragon's surprise Lanzwi told him to not worry and expresses his gratitude for risking his life to deliver the stillstones.
3 days later
Seiji had finished tending to the patients in critical condition. Now they can go to rejoin the others. Gruen is out of the question, not just because it was destroyed but also because of Moku, who is a merfolk and will be dried up th moment he steps foot in the labyrinth. So they decided to go straight to Erisen which their next destination after Gruen. And it's also a chance for Moku to reunite with his father.
And so, on that day the people of Ankaji waves goodbye to their savior. Seiji and Moku waves back while on the back of transformed Tio.
Somewhere on the vast ocean a large metalic submarine had surfaced can be seen slowly moving forward. On the Submarine is a short girl with purple hair lying down looking at the sky.
Hinata recollected the events that transpired that brought them here. The flow of the magma in Gruen had conveniently brought them to the ocean. Though the convenience did not last when it came to the sealife.
On their way to the surface they had to deal with many underwater monsters. Such as a giant squid, a whirlpool of sharks, swordfishes with a drill, and a turtle that shot out bombs from it's...posterior. Hinata still wonders what the heck was that last one.
The submarine they were on had expended all of it's torpedoes and had no way to replenish due to the absence of Hinata's Treasure Trove. So they had to rely on Meld and Akira's magic. When Akira needed to recover his mana his only choice was to suck the blood of Shu who is currently resting.
After that they started to just calmly float forward taking things easy. Their only source of food was freshly caught fish, which they caught with Hinata and Meld's LightningField skill. Despite the taste, they didn't really mind, regular fish still tasted better than monster meat.
After sailing for days things definitely started to look up Shu recoverd and the group sees land which they presume to be Erisen. While they slowly float to Erisen's port they were in the middle of lunch outside the submarine when suddenly...
Multiple figures jump out from the water and land on the submarine. Everybody took a ready stance excelt for Hinata who simply continued to chewing and observe their invaders. They all seem to be adult men with a variation of either blue or green hair and have fins on their heads. They were all wearing the same thing slippers and a loin cloth amd they were each carrying a Trident pointed at them. It was fairly obvious this was merfolk tribe.
"Who are you people? And what is this boat?" One of them demanded to know.
"Please calm down we are not here for any sort of conflict." Meld tried explaining but it seemed it only made them angrier.
"Do not think you can blatantly lie to us human!?"
"You've come here to take another child haven't you!?"
"After we kill you we'll find where he is."
The merfolks just kept throwing accusations.
The other merfolks join in the spatting Hinata raised an eyebrow. 'Child? Are they talking about Moku? Guess it's natural for news of a missing child to spread. Back in Japan, the same thing happened with missing child reports. Of course it wasn't kids who got kidnapped. It was also for...runaways...like...'
"Hinata can you please stop eating!' Meld called out.
"Enough! You will die here!" One guy shouted as he charged forward. Meld was readying knock the man behind the neck to him out but Hinata had different idea.
"Batter up!" Grabbing one of the bigger fish they had caught Hinata runs past Meld and swings ls the fish like a bat. The fish's size and mass was enough to send the man flying. As he did he repeatedly hit the water like a skipping stone.
Meld's mouth drops "Hinata!"
"Hey, he started it." She countered.
"Damm you!" The merfolks angrily throws each of the tridents at the group. Akira response by using wind magic in an instant to blow all of it away. Noticing chantless magic of that caliber the merfolk decided to retreat. And Akira decided to fry all of their asses by casting lightning magic on the water.
Meld grimaces at the bodies of unconscious merfolk pop up from the waters. How was he gonna explain this?
"Hm, who knew Moku came from such aggresive people." Hinata commented.
"I don't think you can blame them." Shu spoke up. "Tribes always treat each other like family just like mine. So when Moku was kidnapped they must've been really angry, and that's why they were on edge."
"Is that so...? Well whatever, lets go."
"Hold on." Meld stops her. "Before we go we must collect the merfolk including the one you hit."
"Ugh, do we have to?" Hinata whined.
"No complaining, just do it."
Hinata watches as the submarine circles around Erisen. The town was made of a bunch of houses on floating wooden planks and boardwalks. There a was a massive stone pillar in the middle of the city.
As Hinata looks at the city the city looks back or to be more specific the strange metallic boat they were on and the pile of unconscious merfolk guards. Once they reach the port they are once again met with hostility. This time by humans or rather the peacekeeping force sent by Heiligh. Their leader's name was Salze and unfortunately neither him nor his men recognized Meld.
When Hinata was about to diffuse the situation Shu suddenly pointed up and "Hinata up here!" They all look and see something falling from the sky. It took them a moment to realize it was someone, someone they knew.
"Is that..Moku?!"
"MAMAAAAAAAAA" from behind Moku they can see a frantic Seiji on Tio diving straight down chasing Moku
"CrapCrapCrapCrap!" Hinata quickly used Aerodynamic to jump up and catch the falling child. After being caught Moku immediately gives a tight hug to his pseudo mother. Hinata simply sighs and looks up at Tio and Seiji who seemed happy to see her again.
After reaching the ground and Tio transformed back Hinata wasted no time to grab Moku's cheeks and pinch them.
"What in the world you were thinking?"
Hinata of a people scolded. "Moku, you shouldn't have done something so dangerous." Meld followed.
"Yeah! next time you need to do it with a parachute." Meld narrows his eyes at Hinata.
Despite the bad advice, he has to admit it was quite impressive how she immediately rushed up to catch Moku. Perhaps she is starting to accept her temporary role.
"*sniff*sniff* I'm sorry Mama, Grandpa." Moku apologized. Watching the scene some of the town folks seemed to recognize Momu as the child of one named "Rome".
As Hinata was comforting a crying Moku she suddenly feel a pair of arms wrapped from behind her "Seiji?" Said boy was shedding tears of joy lowering his head to Hinata "I-I'm so glad..." Hinata gives him a soft smile "I had you pretty worried didn't I ? Well i'm here now so just calm down ok also let go." The boy instead tighten his hug "just a little longer."
Hinata was about to punch Seiji when she suddenly felt her face touching some fabric. "Master...I always believed in you." Tio had pulled Hinata to his own hug. Due to the height difference Hinata's face was deep into his stomach. Then Moku whined also wanting to hug and climgs on harder to Hinata. It wasn't long until Akira and Shu got jealous and joined in.
Meld managed to yank them all off in front of a very weirded out crowd. As for Salze, all Hinata had to do was show her status plate, Ilwa's letter, and details of the mission. Although they are cleared of suspicion he still wished discussed some stuff becuase of thair submarine and Tio.
Hinata wanted to curse him off but Meld intercepted her and told Salze that they were satying in Erisen for a while. Meaning that they will have plenty of time to talk later. Right now they want to bring Moku to his father.
With Salze's permission they officially enter Erisen. Moku was dragging Hinata by the hand heading towards the home he had longed for. Meld thought Hinata would've been mad but she seemed...amused by the child's impatient.
'Hm odd.' He thought with a smile.
When they were near Moku's house they suddenly heard something...
"Rome, calm down."
They see two merfolk standing in front of the doorway, their hands were up as if they were trying keep something at bay while not trying to hurt it "My son is back and you expect me to calm down? I have to go see Moku!" A man carefully steps out while placing hands on the walls of the house.
The man's hair was the same color as Moku was tied to a ponytail. His clothes didn't exactly stand out, he was wearing a simple green V cut with purple pants and slippers. Hinata noticed that his right leg was covered ij bandaged. Hinata figured this was Moku's father, word spread fast. Someone who saw them Moku must've went to inform him.
"Papa!" Moku let's go of Hinata's arm and runs to the man. The man who is shocked to see Moku falls to his knees, tears come out of his eyes as he welcomes his son with open arms. The two of them embrace each other in a hug.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you." The man cried.
The guys were watching the heartwarming scene. Hinata then leaned to Meld. "Hey Meld, is it weird that he already has a kid even though he's looks younger than you?" the teen teased.
A slightly irritated Meld pushes Hinata back. "Don't ruin the moment."
As they were hugging Moku looks down and sees Rome's leg "Papa your leg!" Moku turns to Hinata "Mama help Papa quick."
"Eh, Mama?" Rome asked befuddled, safe to say the other two merfolk was just as confused as him.
"Uhhhhh...I'll explain later, go help the man inside Meld."
Meld picks the man and places his arm over his back and start walking back to the house. "Yay, thanks Grandpa."
"Huh, Grandpa?" Now he was even more confused.
"Uhhhhh... I'll explain later." Meld's nervous expression mimicked Hinata's.
After they got back into the house Seiji examined Rome's leg. The injury was obtained on the day Moku was kidnapped. It was a pretty fatal one, but it would only take Seiji a couple of days to heal.
After Rome cried tear of happiness and thanked the party he couldn't help but ask about the "Mama" and "Grandpa" situation.
They all tell her the story, while they did, Moku had dozed off and slept on his father's lap. Rome thanks them again and promised to repay them no matter how long it took.
"Oh I know, why don't you all stay here for the night." Rome offered. "It's the least I can do. I heard you were staying in Erisen for a while."
Hinata stood up. "Thanks for the offer but we'll just find another place."
When she was about to leave Moku groggily open his eyes. "Mama, are you leaving?"
"Yup see ya later kid."
'Blunt as usual.' her party thought in unison.
"Oh are you sure? My place is quite large. And while you're here you can be her mama." Hinata didn't like where this was going. "How would you like to permanently be his mama?"
"EH!" Everyone gasped.
The harem boys started giving off a murderous aura that Rome seemed to be ignorant about. "You see, my wife died around the time Moku was born. I'm sure you'd like a new mama wouldn't you?" Moku eagerly nods.
"Did you hear that?"
"Big news!" One of the merfolk outside shouted.
'Crap.' Hinata thought, it looks like some of the merfolk that was eavesdropping earlier is gonna start spreading a bunch of rumors. Now that Hinata looks closer, Rome does have a look that most people would consider handsome. With a face like that and missing child it's no wonder he's the talk of the town amongst the women.
Surprisingly Meld objected first. "H-Hold on Rome, Hinata is still a teenager and you are a man with a child. Also you might want to be careful with your words." Meld said worrying for the father's life as Hinata's harem started getting angrier.
"Oh, then would you perhaps give your blessings...Father."
"Guh!" Meld was currently feeling something he has never felt before. The disturbing feeling of being called father by an actual father when you never had any children of your own. "Please don't call me that." He quietly asked.
Rome turns to Hinata. "Say Mama, why don't we sleep together?" He suggested. Hinata and Meld were shocked and the other four's stare gets even more intense.
"Hold on!" Meld had never let Hinata sleep on the same bed with anyone and Rome is no exception "Rome, I appreciate your hospitality but I think it's we'll just sleep somewhere else."
As he tried to get up Moku suddenly walked up to him. "Grandpa...aren't you gonna stay?" Moku asked with a sad face.
Meld clenched his heart. Labyrinths, monsters ,and demons had nothing on him. But this child's adorableness "A-Alright we'll stay here." He conceited.
"Yay" Moku cheered.
"Wimp!" Hinata jeered.
"So Hinata, about the sleeping arrangements?" Rome asked again. Just then the others immediately cling onto Hinata like they were back at the port.
"If you sleep together so do I!"
"Me too!"
"Get the hell off me!"
Aiko strode through the castle halls with full determination. She had asked Shizuku to gather everyone in the dining hall. She needed to- no, shemusttell them.
It would be hard for everyone to believe her, especially Amanogawa. There's also no telling how the church will react to her telling this. So that's why she must tell them in secret.
In order for their safety... nothing will stop her.
"Hello...Goddess of fertility."
Aiko stops in her tracks. In front of her was a man dressed in a black robe. He was wearing a hat with a black veil on it that covered his face.
"Um...who are you?" For some reason Aiko can't help but feel... cautious.
"I am your guide." The man stated.
"G-Guide? What are you talking about ? I'm going to see my students." The man walks closer making Aiko nervous.
"You are going to the divine mountain." Aiko's eyes turn blank. The man's words felt like something she had to follow...
"Ah!" She blinks and her eyes return to normal. "What...was that?"
