Chapter 1: Prologue
It was a few days after Colette's banishment and our heroes were enjoying a relaxing afternoon together.
Or they would have, had it not been for the fact that it was VERY HOT today. Our heroes had just left school and were now at Danny's house, trying to cool off. Unfortunately, the AC broke down and Danny's parents were out right now buying material for their ghost weapons, which left the heroes in a less than pleasant situation as they tried to find a way to fix it.
"Geez! Of all the days for the AC to break, it had to be today!..."Danny said, frustrated while Tucker was checking the broken machine.
"Tuck, you make all sorts of gadgets and are supposed to be a genius with tech. Any chance you can fix the AC?..."Star asked, desperate for it to be fixed.
"If I could, I would but the motor is totally busted, and I don't exactly have a new one in my backpack..."Tucker said, looking frustrated as he couldn't fix it right now.
"I tried calling a repairman to come over, but apparently the heat is causing a lot of stuff to break down around town and their busy all day..."Jazz said, while Sam frowned.
"Typical..."Sam said, as Star groaned.
"It's too hot! I feel like I'm in an oven! Let's just go to my house, I think the AC is still working there!..."Star suggested.
"That would involve going outside where it's 100 plus degrees. And I don't know about you guys but I'm in no mood to get sunstroke..."Tucker complained.
"Guys, relax. I'll cool us off..."Danny said, as he changed into his ghost form.
Immediately, his hands glowed blue, creating some ice and amazing his friends.
"Oh right. I almost forgot you can do that..."Star said, relieved as Danny used his ice powers all around the living room to cool the temperature.
He created some ice and snow nearby but kept it from a safe distance as to not cause any physical harm to the others. Soon enough, the heat was leaving, and cool air was in the living room, making our heroes sigh in relief as the room became cool again.
"Thanks Danny..."Jazz said, grateful as she enjoyed the cool air.
"Yeah, gotta say. I love having a best friend who is a walking ice machine..."Tucker said, relaxing.
Star kissed Danny's cheek, happy and her mood improved now that it was cool again.
"And I love having the COOLEST guy in town as a boyfriend..."Star said, while the others sent her looks.
"Really?..."Sam said, raising a brow at that pun.
"What? That was the perfect chance to use that pun. What, was I supposed to not say it?..."Star complained and Sam sighed.
"You two really are alike..."Sam said, as the couple blinked, wondering what she meant.
Everyone ignored this and just enjoyed the fact that they were no longer dealing with the heat anymore.
10 minutes later
Our heroes were still enjoying the cool air, and their attitudes calmed as well.
"Man, this is the life..."Danny said, as he kept using his ice powers to keep the temperature of the room cool and bearable.
"I'll say..."Jazz said as she handed some soda to the others as well.
"You know...all the snow you make kind of reminds me of our ski trip. Remember that, Boo?..."Star asked and her boyfriend chuckled.
"How can I forget? That trip was insane..."Danny said.
"That's putting it mildly. Why does our family's ghostly weirdness have to follow us everywhere?..."Jazz complained, while Tucker and Sam looked confused.
"Okay, what are you guys talking about?..."Sam asked, curious.
"Huh? Didn't we tell you guys about our ski trip? The one we went on during winter break, a little after Christmas..."Danny said.
"Oh, right. You mentioned something about that when you guys came back..."Sam said, but still had a vague idea since she hadn't been a part of that trip.
"Mind refreshing my memory. It's been so long that some details are a little hazy..."Tucker said, still not remembering the whole story since their friends just gave them the highlights at the time.
Danny, Star and Jazz, having nothing else to do right now, decided to oblige their friends.
"Well, it was kind of a crazy story. Alright. We need something to do since the cable is acting wonky right now..."Danny said, as he, his girlfriend and his sister decided to get into storyteller mode.
"Okay, like I said, it happened a few days after Christmas. It actually started on our last week of vacation before we had to go back to school..."Danny began.
"My mom had this big idea of wanting to do something big, so she insisted on inviting us to a mountain chalet she bought at Mount Amity, and she even invited Danny's family to come with us..."Star revealed, though she was downplaying how much her mother insisted when she invited them.
"And since we all know, Mount Amity has some alleged "ghost sighing's", our parents jumped at the chance at going..."Jazz said, shaking her head.
"But the craziness didn't start until after we actually got there..."Danny said, as he began to officially tell the story.
