"Everybody clap your hands," A voice sang to a beat as something was drilling from the ground ceiling above. The drill turned out to be a long finned and jawed monster snapping it's jaw to the beat. "C'mon, y'all!" The voice cheered.
Instantly, Penny recognized the creature. "Oh! I believe we witnessed this one in the Brachydios video!" The gynoid pointed out.
"You're right, Penny. That was the very first of these monster videos we ever watched. That seems like so long ago now." Velvet said, feeling nostalgic along with several others.
"It's amazing how far we've come since then. A lot of these monsters seemed really terrifying and like we could never stand up to them. And that's still true for some of them, now I'm thinking about how much more fascinating Remnant will be with them on it. Especially these guys." Blake said, cuddling up with Ciara as the miniaturized monster licked her face.
"It's also incredible to look back and realize just how many videos we've watched of all these creatures." Weiss added.
"Indeed. At first, I felt like it would be a waste of time, but now it feels like we have a genuine chance to fight back when these monsters appear in our world." Winter said, then blushed a bit. "And, as much as I hate to admit it, Rage has had a few moments where he was genuinely funny and entertaining. The same to your brother." She admitted.
Ruby, however, was amazed at the creature before them and the liquified rock on its body. "Wow... That lava on its body looks really, really cool." She said.
"Actually, my little rose, I'm pretty sure it's quite hot." Summer told her with a giggle.
"Aww, mom! Not dad jokes!" Both of Summer's daughters cried out.
"Hello my fellow hunters, today we talk Agnaktor, the fire pike wyvern. He spends his days burrowing through rock, swimming through magma and generally going clack clack, clack clack," Rage spoke calmly as it showed Aylia crouching down in front of the Agnaktor who was walking away. "He is an interesting little specimen, A leviathan, sure, but he's got himself a beak going on and this lovely sailfin that helps him be ever so dynamic through the magma-which is incredibly dense even though it's a liquid- I feel it doesn't help as much as he thinks it helps and it's mostly due to just the raw power from his tail but hey, he knows how to accessorize and it looks cool." Rage commented just as Agnaktor stated to burrow underground.
"Okay, not gonna lie, I gotta give it to him. That sail looks awesome. Very stylish, very cool." Coco admitted.
"We'll have to make a couple hats with sails or something like that." Neo suggested.
"Man, with clothes like that, your guys' store is gonna be one... HOT commodity!" Yang joked, everyone groaning.
"I have a small tuft of feathers in my crow form. Maybe a little sail would be nice while I'm flying if it's aerodynamic enough." Qrow pondered.
The creature then burst halfway out from the ground and fired a devastating laser beam all around itself. "And Admittedly it helps him shed excess heat very quickly when he is above the surface. The blood runs up the veins into each of the fleshy panels- how often do you get to say fleshy panels- and well gives off it's little cargo of... temperature- I didn't want to say heat again, but temperature can be cold as well, but now I've committed to the sentence and I'm not gonna do another take! Ha!" Rage laughed as Aylia barely evaded the attack.
"Whoa! Renny! Did you see that beam!? It was awesome!" Nora cried out.
"And it can twist around to fire in multiple directions. That's quite devastating." Ren added.
"Not quite as powerful as Gravios' beam, but it's still quite impressive. And considering it can spin while firing, it has an advantage. Not to mention, it's likely faster than the giant heap of rocks." Cinder noted.
"It kind of reminds me of Hyperactive Ray from Pinchermon!" Ruby pointed out.
"Oh, yeah. That would be my favorite move ever if it didn't take a whole turn to recharge after." Yang agreed.
And the teens and less mature adults laughed at Rage's refusal to do another take. "No wonder his videos are full of him messing up." Jaune said.
"An idiot human, what are the odds?" Adam scoffed.
"This is likely why Sai makes a script." Pyrrha said.
"No, that's so he wouldn't be rambling and trying to come up with words from the top of his head so a 20 minute video takes an hour." Tekko corrected. [1]
"So the babies are Uroktor, okay? They are little, tiny- well... versions of Agnaktor and Agnaktor is what they become once they mature," Rage informed helpfully as it showed a pair of young Uroktor. "Eventually some asked what an Uroktor what do you want to do when you grew up and it went "I want to fire laser beams and make this noise," Rage said with a high pitched voice as it showed the image of said monster shooting a beam from it's mouth, before cutting to the adult version clacking its beak once again.
"It's so cute!" Pyrrha, Velvet, Ruby, Winter and Neo all cried out.
"I wanna pet it." Emerald cooed.
Glynda tried her hardest to keep up her usual stone face, but failed and gave a small smile. "A-adorable." She said quietly to avoid getting caught.
And they got a good chuckle when they saw what Uroktor wanted to do when they grow up. "Well, that sounds like a lot of fun. I hope they like it as much as I like watching it." Ilia said.
"And the world was like "Yeah, that's all right, seems pretty fun," Rage admitted rather easily.
"So yeah, in general his shape and his flow is a lot like Lagiacrus, they do share certain tendencies in body slams and wrappy tail slaps, but... it's very superficial," Rage informed mildly as the Agnaktor started to drill underground as Aylia ran from it. In the next moment, Agnaktor resurfaced with lava covering its body as Rage said, "He has a lovely technique when his beak is closed, the fine point it makes combined with a spinning motion, he can literally drill down into- well... any volcanic surface he feels like and go quick. He can go very fast." Rage explained.
"Dang, red. I bet these guys could even give you a run for your money!" Roman said, to which Ruby pouted.
"To be able to power through lava at those speeds. Just how strong is that thing's tail?" Ironwood wondered.
"Hopefully strong enough to break most Grimm in half. Salem included. It wouldn't keep her down, but it'd put her out of commission for a while, especially if the two halves were knocked a good distance away from each other." Hazel said.
"He can get some serious speed as he creates his little subterranean tunnels. And he has a lovely little habit of powering out of the ground and drilling into the ceiling with the momentum and being above for an aerial surprise attack," Rage said as the Agnaktor slithered towards its opponent. Once it's within range, Agnaktor started to stab the ground and causing Aylia to run while Rage said, "They are very much ambush predators. You can't defend against something, well... bursting out of what use to be solid stone beneath, showering you in lava and then puncturing through you with a beam of pure fury."
Everyone, especially the intellectuals, were flabbergasted at this new knowledge. "It can drill through rock! And it's doing it with ease." Winter said in awe.
"And volcanic rock in particular is highly durable. To be able to drill through it, Agnaktor's beak must be nearly as strong as the metals most of your weapons are made from." Glynda said in shock.
"Oh, great. It can get us from just about anywhere with that laser, but now not even the ground is safe." Blake groaned.
"If there is one upside to this, being able to drill through volcanic rock would certainly allow it to drill through Grimm armor." Ozpin pointed out.
Yang then thought of something and smirked. "Oh, man, Rubes. You'd be so screwed if you fought an Agnaktor. It'd come up out of the ground and if it didn't get you, it'd definitely snag your cape! Then you'd be at its mercy. And that is NOT the face of mercy." Yang told her.
"Yang, stop picking on me!" Ruby whined.
"I think that's a good idea, Ruby. Be nice to your baby sister, Yang." Summer told her with a small glare, to which Yang gulped and nodded.
"Mama's girl!" Neo giggled at Yang, who glared at her.
"This awesome natural weapon, one of the most powerful to be found, is created through a combination of lava the Agnaktor has taken on board through it's journeys though a special lava flap. We'll go with a lava flap," Rage decided with Aylia crouched down and sneaking towards the unsuspecting monster in question. "And it mixes in a special sac that has within, able to withstand extreme heats, obviously and it is combined there with explosive chemicals that is then ignited by the clacks of it's beard-" Rage laughed just as the Agnaktor seemed to ignore the hunter directly below its stomach.
The narrator then realized his mistake. "By the clacks of his beard? By the clacks of his beard!" Rage laughed at his mistake.
"By the beard of Zeus," A middle aged man muttered seriously.
"I've never heard a beard clack before... And I'm pretty sure I don't want to." Jaune said.
"I wonder who this Zeus is. He must have quite the beard." Ren wondered.
"Probably one of the worst and definitely the horniest god in all of mythology." Katana explained, showing several images of the most popular depictions of Zeus, as well as an actual statue of him. The group was briefly impressed and a bit intimidated, but then Katana filled their heads with about an hour-long summary of Zeus' worst actions, leading them to despise this god they learned of.
"Definitely don't want a beard like his. Then again, I could never rock a beard anyway. WAY too messy." Roman said, admiring the hair on the top of his head and his smooth, shaven chin.
"I used to consider growing a beard. After seeing our original timeline however... Hard pass." Ironwood said.
"Glad to see you're learning, Jimmy." Qrow agreed, patting the general on the back.
"Creating a little spark and then ignition," Rage explained with an exploding sound effect. "This is a powerful powerful weapon that Agnaktor struggles to control it, the recoil itself absolutely forces him backwards and he has to concentrate on it. Physically, he's not the strongest going, he loses out in a match to even something like an Uragaan that he shares his home with," Rage commented as the monster and hunter start to fight. The Agnaktor was body slamming Aylia, who was dodging and trying to land a hit, as Rage said, "But the ability to be sneaky sneaky through the ground combined with such a potent laser that it can punch a hole through a Gravios shell, which is one of the hardest carapaces to cleave asunder in all of the world, it gets the job done for the most part. And he also rises to the surface covered in…"
Everyone will then be shocked to hear just how strong the beam was. "It can go through Gravios' shell? But that's super thick, hard rock." Emerald said in disbelief.
"That's some incredible power behind that laser. I'm really starting to like this lizard. I'll have to remember to get one when we go back." Cinder said eagerly. Luna growled a bit at this. "Oh, don't be jealous. You'll still be my favorite." She assured the Elder Dragon.
"But if it can break through Gravios' shell, which is literally made out of rock, what chance does our auras have?" Adam cautioned the others, who quickly became nervous at that revelation.
"Liquid hot magma," A bald man in a grey uniform replied in an over the top villain way.
"Um... Okay. That was weird." Ilia said awkwardly.
"Well, hey... He's not wrong." Coco admitted.
"Then if the lava stays on the body, then surely it will cool and make armor out of the rock." Ren realized.
"Which eventually cools down and leaves him with layers of pure volcanic rock to add to his defenses, turning blade away effortlessly. This lava armor is a trait stolen viciously Lavasioth, that rat little bastard!" Rage complained with the fight showing Agnaktor showing off it's burrowing skills.
"Ha!" Lavasioth said for a split second.
Ren nodded proudly at his guess being confirmed. Pyrrha, however, was less enthused when she heard the fiery Piscine Wyvern stole the technique. "Darn you, Lavasioth! How dare you steal from Agnaktor in such a way!" Pyrrha cursed.
"While it may not be fair, Pyrrha, it is a very useful adaptation, so it would make sense that multiple creatures adapted a similar method of making armor out of lava." Penny reasoned.
"Also, I highly doubt that there's monster police to arrest monsters for stealing similar survival methods." Weiss pointed out, rolling her eyes.
"But that's okay- that's okay, we don't need to think about the world where we could have gotten Agnaktor instead of Lavasioth in the Elder's Recess- We don't need to think about that world, that world that's so much happier than the world we live in! I just- why?! Why?!" Rage cried while the screen was slowly turning into a black and white video with sad piano music playing.
"So, Agnaktor doesn't live in the New World?" Nora asked.
"Sadly, no. None that we've discovered, anyway." Razara confirmed.
"And we've looked! HARD! Across two different islands!" Tekko said.
"Aww, that's so sad. I'd much rather have the giant lava lizard than the stupid lava fish." Nora said.
"Yeah. I mean, Rage is still a meanie and makes me mad, but I wish he could be around the monsters he liked more." Ruby agreed.
"It must be hard to deal with monsters you don't like, especially when you know there's better ones out there you could be fighting." Yang added to what he sister said.
"You have NO idea." The the ice demon hosts said emphatically.
"So obviously it flees from Elder Dragons and you know while it can actually do damage to Gravios, it would still rather not fight them. It can go tay to toe- toe to tay? Tail to toe... I don't really know what parts of the body I'm talking about, but it can go body bit to body bit, with even a Deviljho, not obviously in a raw physical contest, cause that's what Jho likes, but Jho is very fleshy and very spongey. It does not respond well to heat, laser, and explosions and for the most part Agnaktor sit atop the food chain in his home. While there are those that can contend with it, they really can't get at it so it has the raw pickings it like of all the herbivores to be found there, The Rhenoplos are plenty." Rage informed helpfully as Aylia struck Agnaktor from behind with her greatsword.
"Using speed and skill to defeat a much larger opponent. Very nice." Ozpin praised.
"We already learned Jho's are easy to outsmart. But even then, outfighting them still isn't easy. This lizard has my respect." Hazel said.
Many also approved that it was at the top of the food chain and avoided contenders by staying in lava. "Yep. Last I checked, pretty hard to get at something that can chill in lava." Qrow stated.
"So the clack clack beam, if you know what I mean~ It's so mean, it's obscene~ and makes the Agnaktor king of all he seen~!" Rage rapped as a beat was heard. He then stopped and realized what he said. "All he seen. All he seen? I really wish I had any form of talent." The host lamented as the fight continued.
"Aww, yeah! Those are sick rhymes!" Nora cheered.
"Bit of a weak finish, but everything else was great." Neo said.
"I think he has a lot more talent than he gives himself credit for." Yang agreed.
"You know, it's snapping when it readies its beam is honestly kind of cute." Summer cooed a bit.
"What I'm trying to lay down for you in wicked rhyme- why do I make these videos?! Is that the laser is so, SO potent that the Agnaktor doesn't have a natural predator. It carves out a territory and it will aggressively defend it if you step foot swell it's gonna know where from your vibrations through the earth and it's coming for you. Even though it's floppy fishy physical moves are kind of alright, they're bolstered by his fairly decent size, but nothing too special to write home about, but you're gonna get disintegrated by a lava laser beam, so that's not nice," Rage commented with the monster trying to take a bite out of its opponent.
"Well, then isn't THAT something to write home about?" Velvet asked.
"Well, yeah. But good like writing anything after you got vaporized by lava." Emerald pointed out.
"That's not nice? Really, Rage? I don't think there is a nice way to get killed by a giant lava monster." Ilia laughed.
"It must have incredibly heightened senses to feel the vibration through countless feet of solid rock, likely lava as well, which as a thick, dense liquid would likely not let many vibrations through easily." Adam theorized.
"So... Yeah, no one and nothing wakes up in the morning and goes 'What's for dinner? I'm feeling like some Agnaktor'. Which is impressive as Agnaktor is just a mid-tier monster that is punching far above his weight with the ultimate of glass cannons," Rage continued on with Aylia running around. The Agnaktor tried to land a hit by using its tail as a weapon while Rage said, "He looks badass, I think the whole clack clack beam I mean he's famous for it and rightly so. He takes no shit from anyone and that's something you can respect. He arguably has, compared to the rest of him, just the strongest weapon of any monster. It's just... Ahhh. I hope you guys are getting a lot of lore information from me just making the sound 'Ahhh!'" Rage declared as the creature slithered around.
They were all shocked at this news. "No way! That things only a mid-class monster?!" Jaune cried out.
"Guess your second choice monstie isn't so tough after all. Eh, Cinder?" Roman taunted.
Cinder huffed at this. "Oh, please. If anything, that actually makes it more impressive that it can take on apex monsters while only being mid-tier. Taking on creatures far above itself and winning. I think I like it even more, glass cannon or not." The half-Maiden countered.
"Agnaktor's carapace then, is rather fascinating, between each scale is produced mucus like substance and this is unbelievably flame retardant. It simply will not burn. It also is IMMENSELY resistant to heat and this is how he uses his- well, armor coating technique," Rage informed while Aylia was attacked by Uroktor and Agnaktor waddled away to a new location. "He essentially doesn't feel it, it's how he swims through the stuff. Though it is susceptible to having parts of it shattered and broken. Which makes it- well... less good to be swimming in lava, because it's contacting directly with the flesh, it then cauterizes immediately, but like... that is RATHER painful, you don't want to cauterize wounds with lava," Rage suggested in an over exaggerated whisper. "I mean, admittedly, it should just cause all the liquid in his body to rapidly turn to gas, expand and he should completely explode from the inside in a shower of guts and gore, but these monsters have been breaking the laws of science since we discovered them." Rage explained as the beast continued to tunnel.
Many were sickened and disturbed at this. "That sounds incredibly unfavorable." Penny said nervously.
"As someone who basically burned to death, I can safely say you don't want that." Hazel confirmed.
"Nothing deserves to perish in such a way." Glynda said, horrified.
"Just like Bruno the Shark from the classic Maws movie." Ren said. Everyone but one person looked at him strangely at this. "Nora made me sit through a horror move marathon." He explained, Nora giggling in confirmation, being the only person who hadn't given Ren a questioning look.
"How they breed is even more fascinating. Play the clip," Rage ordered while the screen went dark.
"No!" Everyone shouted, Summer, Winter and Ironwood covering Ruby, Weiss and Penny's eyes respectively.
"I'm not actually gonna show anything. Do you really think i was gonna show two Agnaktor going at it you sick fuck," Rage chastised.
"Shame." An old nun and priest said while ringing a bell.
This got a laugh from many of the less mature of the group. "Nice! Classic bait and switch!" Yang giggled.
"Oh, man. Can't tell you how many time your dad fell for those!" Qrow laughed, Summer huffing about how much of a playboy Tai used to be.
"Wow. From the sound of it, your dad would've been someone who would want to see that." Neo said with a smirk.
"He's really good at tricking us like that. I wasn't sure if he was serious or not about showing... Y'know... That." Nora said with a blush at the end.
"And he's got a lot of nerve calling us a bunch of sick fucks." Coco added.
"Hey, in your case, he's not wrong." Emerald taunted, laughing and hiding behind Cinder to avoid Coco's wrath.
"They like to go to the summit of an active volcano to mate. They like it hot. Hey-hey! Ah, yep. Female Agnaktor will nest at the top of a volcano and give birth up to thirty babies at a time," Rage admitted, sounding oddly okay with it. "So... Yeah- I am wondering if they just like... They just fall into the volcano... Just one after another and they're literally born in fire and they're just like 'Alright, fine, let's just'- Well, actually, the Uroktor aren't super magma resistant, they're mostly rock burrowers, not lava swimmers, so... that would probably just be murdering her babies literal seconds after they came into the world." He went on awkwardly.
This left the group in shock. "30 at a time?!" They all cried out.
"That's impossible. With so many being born, how have they not absolutely overrun the volcanic regions?" Ironwood asked.
"Well, remember, it's still like with other animals, not all of them get to mate in the end. But mainly, while fully grown Agnaktors have no real predators, that isn't the case for the baby Uroktor that CAN'T escape into lava. You might remember in the Brachydios video that Big Blue tricked an Uroktor to standing on a pile of slime and getting blown up." Katana explained.
"I suppose that makes sense. Still, predators aren't always successful at hunting. That can't be the only way to keep their population down." Adam noted.
"Good job, Adam! Gold star!" Tekko said.
"Yeah, hunters also taking on culling missions where we slay a few of a certain monster to keep the population in check." Razara added.
Many in the group were horrified at this. "C-c-culling!? You mean killing innocent baby monsters?!" Pyrrha asked, aghast at this news.
Ruby, who didn't know the meaning of culling beforehand, gasped at this sudden knowledge. "No! You can't do that!" She cried out, teary-eyed.
"That's horrible." Velvet said, about to cry.
"What is wrong with you guys?! How can you do that and act like it's nothing!?" Yang demanded.
"Now, now, students. You can't judge them too harshly. I understand you may not like this solution, but sometimes it's necessary. Populations have to be maintained." Ozpin told them.
"Professor, not you, too!" Velvet said.
"It's sad, but it's effective in keeping the population at acceptable levels. Even our world does it by letting people hunt deer and such." Ren explained.
"Yeah. Around where I live, nobody was doing anything about the coyote population and they got out of control. Now, people are encouraged to hunt them year-round and get as many as they can so they don't get even more crazy." Jaune admitted.
"But... But..." Ruby began.
Summer hugged her daughter. "I know it's sad, Ruby, but sometimes, it just has to be done. Like how Ozpin's ultimate goal is to stop Salem and her followers. And they may just involve killing the people who follow her. We don't like it, but we have to be prepared for it." She told her child.
"Precisely. And remember, students, thirty of those creatures would have to eat quite a bit. All that food would add up and they'd eventually run out, leaving the ecosystem in ruin. It's not far off from Deviljho." Glynda said. The students were still sad at this, but begrudgingly accepted it.
"But! The cool thing is, only an Agnaktor that has successfully mated at least once knows how to do the ceiling dig attack. How that was observed? How was that found out?" Rage asked, genuinely curious. "I mean do they walk down from the mountain, pretty fucking proud of themselves, and go 'you know what, I'm feeling good right now. You see that ceiling Dave? I'm gonna jump into it and burrow through it.' 'Steve, Steve that's unheard of!' 'Ah, but you know Samantha?' 'STEVE!'" Rage played along with his own story.
Ruby and Nora were amazed at this. "That is so cool! It can tunnel into the roof! These things are incredible!" She said.
"Yeah! We definitely needed some awesome craziness like this after that sad stuff! I wanna tunnel through the ceiling!" Nora agreed.
"The story behind it isn't bad, either." Blake admitted with a blush.
"Still, I'm with Dave. What makes Steve think he can tunnel through a ceiling just because he rocked Samantha's world?" Roman asked.
"Did you really just call a bunch of lava alligators by those names?" Ilia questioned.
"Anyways it's a lovely little fact for you there" Rage laughed happily, Aylia striking Agnaktor's tail. "Oh, Agnaktor. Known as the Fire Pike Wyvern, the Agnaktor use their tough beaks and strength to burrow through rock and sometimes even cave ceilings encrusted with the hardened lava that can soften from the heat when they spit magma or burrow and eat," Rage said mildly, "They can spit out globs and globules of it out and try and cover their foes and honestly, when your weapon is most deadly hottest substance to be found, you're doing pretty well for yourself." Rage declared as the beast took several chomps at Aylia.
"Yeah! Hot stuff for the win! Eh, Cinder?!" Yang cheered, pulling Cinder in for a one-armed side hug.
"Y-yes, heat is very effective and the hotter you can get, the deadlier you can get. Agnaktor does that pretty well. Now let go!" The half-Maiden demanded, trying to free herself from the grip of her future sister-in-law.
"So your base Agnaktor, he is lovely in a majestic animal sense even though he would still kill and eat you in a moment's notice," Rage complimented with Agnaktor slithering around on screen. "They do have a subspecies and, in my opinion, it's probably the best sub species, full stop on that. I think is immense, what I think creative, but it just swapped out it's element which I think is cool literally and the way you thought I meant it, Glacial Agnaktor," Rage introduced dramatically as the scene changes from a volcano to a frozen cave and an Icy-looking Agnaktor standing there.
Everyone was quite impressed by this new ice version of the fiery beast. "It's incredible!" Weiss cried out with stars in her eyes.
"The icy colors look so much better! And using ice instead of fire is so much more elegant!" Winter said, equally awed by the chilly leviathan.
"You know, you're REALLY not doing yourselves any favors to ditch those 'Ice Queen' nicknames." Qrow told them.
"Still, that's pretty cool. A lot of the subspecies have been pretty much the same, just a different color, so switching elements to the exact opposite of itself is really neat!" Jaune pointed out.
"More monsters for Atlas' defense force." Ironwood said hopefully.
"Should we be worried that that's the first place he goes to? Not 'huh, cool. We might see this in passing in Atlas' or 'that could be a problem for Atlas in the future.'" Roman questioned.
"He means well. I think he's been at this general thing a bit too long. And losing all those parts might have messed with his brain." Summer assured him.
"It does what Agnaktor do, but with ice, it burrows through ice. It comes out covered in ice that slowly melts and gets softer over time, the reverse armor setup of it's normal Agnaktor counterpart," Rage informed, the monster on screen doing a similar attack to it's hot counterpart. It started to burrow under the ground as Rage spoke. "It fires a beam of pure hail and ice that shreds flesh, breaks bones and powers back foes. It's not as strong as the lava equivalent beam, but still plenty powerful, no longer needing the clack clack ignition, but still clack clack they do because you know that is how Agnaktor is. You've gotta clack clack even if you don't need to clack clack because its such a wonderful sound. Do any of you guys just like the sound of, like... horse hooves on like a pavement, or like clogs on a wooden floor? You know, just like a really nice, crisp... It's one of my favorite sounds, I thought you'd appear to like that." Rage said as the clop of horse hooves could be heard in the background.
"I have to admit, it's clacking noise does put a bit of a smile on my face." Hazel said.
"Agreed. Somehow or other, it's quite satisfying. Almost like a white noise someone could fall asleep to." Glynda said.
"Yeah, it's a cool sound. And kind of funny, too. But I think I like those horse hooves a bit better." Ruby admitted, still enjoying the sound.
"But because the beak is not needed for the ignition system, it has grown larger and sharper and it's much more deadly weapon. The pike in the pike wyvern is very much named after that because it can be swung around as such and absolutely cleave would-be aggressors in twain," Rage explained in great detail, the monster smashing the ice floor in the process. "The Freeze Pike Wyvern, as you know not a lot of huge points for guessing that, but there you have it, they're really not hugely different but they are really fantastic. I mean just taking it and fully element flipping it, how often do we get that. You get things like Rathian but now it's pink then you compare it a magma monster becoming an ice monster with a reverse of one of it's most unique mechanics and it just works absolutely beautiful." Rage admitted with Glacial Agnaktor swimming through the ice effortlessly.
"Quite interesting how much a difference in the material it tunnels through effects its beak." Ozpin noted.
"It seems you and Rage had the same thought process, Jaune." Pyrrha told her boyfriend.
"I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing." Jaune said.
"Hey, as long as the monsters are legitimately different and not just a different color." Emerald told them.
"Yeah, I was getting sick of that, too." Neo agreed.
It then leapt out of the ice and came crashing down, coated in ice like Rage said. "It's the only leviathan that can swim through ice, at least as we're aware of. It can fight and beat things like Tigrex which is already an impressive achievement, their beaks just shatter through ice layers like it ain't nothing and, generally, they're the masters of their terrain," Rage said, the leviathan using its ice beam as it backed up and hit the hunter in the process. "They're faster, they're stronger. Their movement is more fluid and furious and they generally get the job done. Their claws a lot sharper, in fact, in general the glacial has really got the normal beat, because they don't rely on a super weapon despite having a kind of beam, they have to get in there and get dirty themselves. The claws also doubles up as helping them maintain balance on the icy slippery terrain, they lock deep in the ground to help them maneuver in a very effective manner," Rage said while the hunter attacked the Agnaktor.
"Aww, yeah! That's what Mama likes to see! You don't just use a beam to do all the work for you! You work out and get stronger!" Nora cheered at the ice monster's physical superiority to the original.
"It is important to keep oneself in top condition." Ren agreed.
"Just as long as it doesn't leave you too sore, or broken, to move." Blake added sourly.
"Now the mystery here is that no one's ever seen a Uroktor equivalent for Glacial, a baby glacial. How they actually come to be is somewhat enigmatic. They also have a lovely habit to leave kills to rot and turn much softer and pulpy so that it's easier to chomp down on because their teeth and bone ripping skills aren't up to scratch," Rage informed gruesomely.
"Eww!" Velvet whined.
"One more reason to stay away from an Agnaktor's mouth. Deadly laser beams and nasty breath." Coco gagged.
"Strange. With such a powerful beak and a muscular snake-like body, you would think that its teeth would be plenty to rip away flesh, if not its neck pulling back and tearing flesh away as well." Penny noted.
"We know they can spin like a drill, maybe they should start trying a death roll." Ilia suggested.
"Which doesn't make to much sense to me since they could axe beak their way through and make nice little slices and just eat them. You know like pull out a knife and fork, you know, be really refined. I think Glacial Agnaktors aren't really the savages they appear to be, but their scales make them so heat resistant also insulate them from the cold just as well although a slightly different substance is secreted," Rage concluded as the fight ended and everything went black.
"Perhaps we should do that after we get our own Glacial Agnaktors, Winter?" Weiss suggested.
"Excellent idea. That will keep them from eating disgusting, rotting filth." Winter agreed.
"Um... That feels a bit advanced for any monster, let alone this one. I don't think Rage even mentioned its brainpower." Yang pointed out.
"Or, maybe you could just feed your father and brother to one." Adam threw in with a smirk. Sure, he's off the evil human killing path, but he's still pretty sore with the Schnees, particularly the two men in the family, knowing they are particularly worse offenders against Faunus.
"Or, we could just get Whitley his own Glacial. Good idea, Adam." Weiss said, causing the Bull Faunus to facepalm.
"Thoughts?" Katana asked.
"I will have an Agnaktor." Cinder insisted.
"We will have our own Glacial Agnaktors!" The Schnee sisters declared.
"I liked the clack clack noise." Ruby said.
"And that beam was awesome." Yang added.
"Like I said before, I was really digging the sail." Coco said.
"Speaking of digging, I thought the drilling thing was pretty cool." Qrow said.
"Yeah. Especially the digging through the ceiling. That could be really useful for getaways and such." Blake agreed.
"I like that it's a mid-tier monsters that manages to use its strengths to its advantage to be an apex-level monster. It reminds me of someone." Pyrrha said with a smile, looking to Jaune.
Jaune blushed at this, before looking up. "Yeah. It's pretty impressive. And its whole look is just really cool." He said.
"I think you mean its... HOT." Tekko giggled, causing everyone except Yang and Neo to groan, the latter two high-fiving her.
"Unless it's a Glacial Agnaktor, which IS cool." Razara ruined the pun, everyone thanking her for it.
"So, Katana?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah, what's up, Rubes?" The hostess acknowledged.
"Rage has said once or twice that there can be up to four hunters on a hunt, but no more than that. Is there a reason?" She asked.
"That is quite an excellent question. Surely against creatures of such power, you would want to send as large of a group as possible." Glynda agreed.
"I mean, the groups of students at the combat schools has always been four, but we never went up against Grimm as crazy as these monsters." Summer said.
Katana sighed. "Well, there is a story behind that rule. And a monster behind that story." She explained.
"Well, let's hear it. Don't leave us in suspense." Qrow said.
"Very well. But brace yourselves. For this story is not for the feint of heart. Prepare yourselves... For Lao. Shan. Lung." Katana declared, playing the next video.
A/N: Another chapter done! Thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoyed it as always. But now, I need some help.
As many of you likely know by now, many of my RWBY Watches the MCU stories have been taken down. Many have suggested that I reupload them on Archives Of Our Own, but I've heard that site also does not allow reaction stories. However, I've also heard many reaction fics are flourishing there. So, someone please give me an answer that I can rely on with full certainty. Are reaction fics okay there or no? I don't want to bother making an account on a new site and upload stories there, only for them to be taken down in a week or so. Please, someone give me a reliable answer!
[1] Thank goodness he learned his lesson after the Barioth video.
