The year after the battle of the bands was a whirlwind of publicity and performances. Still, every time John Dory was about to get caught up in it Lily appeared by his side to ground him. The band had gotten enough money so that they were able to pay off his Grandma's medical bills and allowed her to actually retire instead of worrying about shifts again. There were also starting to be Brozone fans who would recognize him at his job, asking questions and trying to get more information.

It was at the market that someone asked him about the roles that his brothers had in the band, saying that he was obviously the leader so what did the others do. John managed to laugh it off, saying that everyone would find out at the next performance but the question still bothered him as he worked and walked home that night. Once again Lily was sitting at the table of this family's pod helping Spruce, Clay and Floyd with their homework when they needed it and entertaining Baby Branch.

Lily looked up and gave him a tired smile, and he felt it in his fifteen year old bones. Trollstice had passed and it had been a few years since her family had been taken. Each of them picked off in a different season to the point she basically lived with his family now, having her own bedroom in the pod for the harder nights or when Brozone would be performing later than Baby Branch should be up. You're obviously the leader, what roles are the others?

Motioning for Lily to join him outside she gave Floyd a kiss on the head and a few words of encouragement before following him. Standing on the branch outside the pod the looked in at the boys before JD spoke, "I was asked about their roles." Seeing her head tilt, "In the band, I'm 'obviously the leader' and people are wondering what the others' roles are."

Lily reached into her hair and pulled out a notebook, "I heard that question too." Opening it, "I made a list to run by the boys."

Looking over her shoulder he saw that each of their names was at the top of a list with suggestions underneath it. To his surprise, "Why is Baby Branch on here?"

To his surprise Lily rolled her eyes and laughed lightly, "He insisted on being included." Then pointing to the first name, "Spruce can handle more of the work than the other two, but still deserves to be a teen." Working together they got the top three ideas for each of the younger brothers before Lily led the way back into the pod. At the end of the family talk it was decided that Spruce would be the hearthrob, Clay would be the fun boy, and Floyd would be the sensitive one.
