Sneaking past all the shinobi on guard had become a daily routine for Andrew. He knew the guard rotations, patrol routes, passover timings. Everything about guarding that one building and the children from the hidden cloud became common knowledge for him. However, one thing he couldn't count on was his chakra signature. And this day it caught up to him. Once again he was jumping from building to building trying to lose his chase. But unlike last time they were using kunai and shuriken to try and direct his path or graze him.
Dammit, they aren't giving me any breathing room. The shinobi chasing him started to catch up, he had a short lead but that didn't last long. He needed a new plan so he decided to drop down into the streets. He landed and started to run again, not looking back. He passed by shops and market stands, homes and apartment complexes. He turned a corner hoping to lose his tail yet it was a dead end. He found himself in a one sided alleyway. There were murmurs spreading around the streets he passed and the shinobi were now being watched by what remained of the people not on the frontlines.
"Finally, we got you cornered, you damn brat." The shinobi was trying to catch his breath after the chase, They finally had him cornered with nowhere to run or hide.
I'm going to be late to training, what should I do? Andrew's mind was running at 100 miles a minute trying to find a way out of this predicament. In front of him were 3 shinobi and more would make their way to him soon. He had to solve this now or he wouldn't get another chance to train.
"What's your name? Just so we can keep a better watch on you next time." Another shinobi spoke up, relaxing his guard against the kid in front of him. They were certain they had won. This opened up holes in their formation and allowed for Andrew to execute his idea. He funnelled chakra to his feet and got ready to run straight at them. They didn't know he had been training in secret all this time so it was now time to show his progress.

"What's he doing?"
"Don't let your guard down."
"Get him! Don't let him get away!" All three shinobi got ready for what he was going to do next but it was too late. Andrew charged at them and ran on the wall next to them before jumping back out into the street and disappearing.
"What the hell just happened?" The shinobi looked around but couldn't find Andrew. Barely 5 seconds had passed and they already lost him.

"What was that?" Andrew asked himself. He funnelled chakra to his feet to wall run but he was faster than he thought. His footwear had marks on it like it was being strangled by lightning.
"Wait Lightning? Did I use my chakra nature with chakra control?" Now Andrew was more confused. It may have been a fluke but he knew what he had to train next.

"You're late." Karasu was waiting at Andrews training area leaning against a tree.
"Sorry, I had some problems." Andrew scratched the back of his head trying to come up with a better reason.
"Never mind that, let's cut to the chase." Karasu got up and walked towards Andrew.
"Hit me."

"What?" Andrew was confused, Karasu left himself completely open to a strike, arms out as if he was welcoming it.

"Just do it." Andrew formed a fist and with all his strength punched Karasu in the stomach. POOF Or so he thought.

"A log?" Andrew was confused, did he punch his mentor or a log. What exactly happened?
"Substitution jutsu." Perched against a tree branch Karasu looked down at Andrew providing an explanation as to what it was and how to use it.
"It swaps you with a nearby object. Once you learn this normally fatal blows can be avoided. However it is not to be used recklessly as in a fight it puts you on the defensive. And depending on how many times you use it it takes up quite a bit of chakra. This is a basic tool every shinobi has learnt. Now it's your turn."

Andrew looked around to see what he could try to use it on and attempted to use the substitution jutsu but failed. He tried most of the day until nightfall but still couldn't get the hang of it.

"It's late now, I'm going. Do whatever you want but I'll be waiting at the same time tomorrow." Karasu said but Andrew simply nodded too engrossed in training to listen properly.
"Don't stay up too late." Using the body flicker technique Karasu left.

"Dammit, I can't seem to get it right." Andrew grew frustrated at his lack of talent but then his mind wandered back to this morning.
"Let's try that." Andrew regained his motivation and used chakra on his feet trying to recreate his immense speed from before.

"He better not be late again." Karasu was in the forest heading to where he would wait for Andrew but as he got closer he heard sounds. He couldn't confirm what it was. Did foreign shinobi infiltrate the village? Karasu took out a kunai and hid behind a tree as he got closer but to his surprise it wasn't shinobi but Andrew.
Was he training all night to learn the substitution jutsu? No, it's something else. There were marks left on the ground where someone had been running and random strikes against trees that made it look like they were hit by leftover strands of lightning. Andrew had been training through the night practising using his chakra nature. He's only around 5 years old but he's using lightning chakra nature? Karasu felt as if he shouldn't interrupt so he left, leaving a clone to watch the kids progress.
