For a week Andrew hunted, ate and trained without enough time to get sufficient sleep, all through this time karasu's clone kept a close eye on him. Throughout the entire week he was practising a lightning jutsu he had never seen before. Andrew felt his flow of chakra form in his feet with sparks of lightning catching the leaves around him. Andrew leaned forward and pushed forward with his feet. He launched forward and he kept the momentum running in circles attacking targets with shuriken and kunai.
Afterwards Andrew checked his targets but it always led to the same results.
Damnit! I can't seem to hit anything at this speed.
He got the hang of his movement but he couldn't hit the targets at the speed he was going. The first time he properly launched himself he almost fell unconscious from the speed and force of the wind against his face. It was dangerous but he continued day and night till he had finally mastered it. Yet he still couldn't land attacks. He felt hopeless and considered finally going back to the care home.
No, I'm on the cusp of a breakthrough, just a little more. Andrew refused to give up and that determination is what helped him through the constant soreness he subjected his body to with his training.
Karasu's clone saw this and disappeared, transferring everything it saw to the real Karasu.
It seems he hasn't realised the power he holds in his eyes. Karasu was patrolling the village helping out the leaf police force maintain stability with what little manpower they had left since the Uchiha sent their men to the front lines. It had been half a year since the war started and no one knew when it might end.
'huff, huff huff.'
"Let's call it a night." Andrew had been training all through the night again and finally decided to get some sleep. The moon had almost finished its rotation and the sun was creeping up opposite it. Laying, exhausted, against a bed of leaves his eyes slowly flickered before he fell into a deep slumber.
When he came to he heard multiple voices around him and as he opened his eyes he was met with a familiar grey and colourless ceiling.
Why am I back here? Was I caught and brought back? That was the only conclusion Andrew could come to, he must have been found asleep and brought back after being missing for a week.
He sat up to be met with the young hidden cloud shinobi playing around and chasing one another with Andrew at the eye of the storm. He got up and found that his father's katana was missing so his first and foremost priority was to search for his father's katana. He looked under and in the sleeping bags, he searched the box of toys, he searched the outside of the walls and the small bookshelf they had. It was nowhere to be found. He started to grow anxious before a voice called out behind him.
"Hey parent killer!" That was one of the many insults he faced people tell about him behind his back. He looked over his shoulder with a cold stare that went against his golden emerald eyes.
"Looking for this." The kid had a grin on his face as he held the red patterned sheath of his Katana. There were two other kids with him laughing as they watched their ring leader annoying Andrew.
"Give that back, I won't ask twice." Andrew gave a stern warning, not turning around to face them.
"Oh yeah or what, you'll cry to your parents…" Andrew grew more angry, his emotions overflowing and taking over his facial muscles. Yet he remained ominously calm.
"... It's not like they can do anything. I hope they experienced painful deaths, those traitors." The two kids associated with the ringleader began to laugh and others watched on, curious to what was happening. The main culprits were 2 years older than Andrew being the oldest group apart of the kids amongst them. The rest were five and four years old including the four year old Andrew.
He watched on as the ring leader went into detail as to what he wished had happened to his parents with the other two chiming in every now and then. Andrew couldn't listen to it anymore. His anger grew yet his calmness did as well. He was confused. Everything in his sight turned red. Were his eyes bleeding, he wiped his eyes and checked his fingers to reveal that nothing was bleeding.
What's happening? This feeling is like déjà vu. But when?
His eyes caught everything that was happening in the room like it was in slow motion. The movement of everyone's hands, the foul mouths of those that were insulting his parents and had his father's katana. He saw everything.
Was this the calmness he felt? A sense of power and superiority or a feeling… no, a certainty of victory. He couldn't properly explain what his eyes saw and how he felt at that moment. However everyone who watched on knew, without a doubt, who had won.
"I warned you." Andrew turned around and ran towards the bullies. The two associates charged in response and launched their first sure of their capabilities against Andrews. This is too sad, even Karasu was tougher than them.
Andrew dodged both punches, ducking and hitting one in the stomach before getting behind the two and knocking them both out. The entire time he could see what they were going to do. It was like he could see the trajectory of their punch before they even threw it. He then brought the chakra to his feet and moved forward.
Before anyone knew what was happening Andrew had already taken back his father's katana out of its sheath and knocked out the two others with the ring leader.
"Wh… what's happening." The ringleader's voice grew shaky as he faced power he couldn't describe. He looked into Andrew's eyes and saw the blood stained halls of hell stare back. His breathing grew heavy and his legs struggled to support his weight. He fell to the ground without a single attack and dropped the sheath.
"It's yours, so leave me alone freak!" The ringleader backed away and propped himself up against the wall. Andrew's red eyes contrasted his bright blue hair and replaced his emerald eyes.
Andrew approached the sheath, picking it up and walked closer to the ringleader. He grew more nervous and panicked knocking against the wall and calling for help.
Andrew raised his Katana and drew the point towards the boy's neck. His breathing became more rapid and he could barely stop himself from falling down again.
"You're not even worth the effort." Andrew glared at the boy and sheathed his Katana after hidden leaf shinobi rushed in through the door hearing the commotion. They looked at the two boys who looked back and were awestruck.
"It can't be. He has the sharingan!" The ninja quickly grabbed Andrew and left the room leaving the children to talk amongst themselves and dwell over what they just saw.
"Hokage, we have a report from shinobi guarding the care home." Hiruzen, who was smoking a pipe, looked on, signalling for the man to continue.
"One of them has Uchiha blood."
Andrew was sitting in a flimsy metal chair and opposite him was another chair awaiting its occupant. Guarding the door was a single shinobi, due to manpower issues most men were sent to the front lines for the 3rd great ninja war that started almost half a year ago now. Entering through the door was the captain of the hidden leaf police force. The guard on the door saluted the man before being waved to wait outside.
"How do you have the sharingan?" The man sat in the chair opposite Andrew and began his interrogation. It was suspicious that one of the children they brought into the village had visual jutsu that only the Uchiha possessed.
"What's the sharingan?" This was the first time Andrew ever heard of it. He thought he had no reason to be here. It was just a petty squabble between kids.
"Don't play dumb! You must know about the Uchiha clan." The man pointed to the insignia on his shoulder, it had the Uchiha crest but behind it was a star. This was the insignia of the hidden leaf police force.
"That's the clan my mum was in." Andrew knew this much, his mum always wore that clan crest but whenever he asked about it he was told that she would tell him when he was older. In the end she never told him about her clan.
"But you come from the hidden cloud so how do you have Uchiha blood?" The man grew more frustrated with the answers he was given. He couldn't believe that a Uchiha would flee to the hidden cloud. He couldn't understand it.
"That's my mum's clan! So she was a Uchiha?" Andrew started asking questions of his own angering the man further, however before anything could happen Karasu walked in.
"I'll take it from here." Kasasu waved at the man telling him to leave the room .
"But I'm the captain of the hidden leaf police force!" The man protested, refusing to be relieved of his interrogation duty.
"Orders from the Hokage, he's my responsibility so it's my job to get answers."
"Understood." The man reluctantly left the room muttering under his breath which were most likely insults.
"Kid follow me, we're going on a walk." Kasasu pointed towards the door and left with Andrew.
They were wandering around exploring the hidden leaf. Andrew got to see things he didn't get too during his time at the care home. Stopping on a bridge over a small stream that could hardly be called a river, Karasu began to speak.
"I'm sure you have your fair share of questions so let me tell you a story." He leaned onto the bridge looking over the flowing water and the small fish that were swimming downstream.
"Once a woman with immense potential for the sharingan was born within the Uchiha clan, that's the clan whose blood runs through your veins."
"What is the sharingan?" Andrew looked up at Karasu with pleading eyes to his questions.
"It is a visual jutsu which is inherited within the Uchiha clan, it's easier to just show you." Karasu looked Andrew in the eyes. His eyes went red and 3 tomoe orbited around his pupils like planets surrounding the sun.
"Continuing on, this woman later grew to fear the Uchiha clan and fled. Why, you ask. We still don't know but she was running from something or someone within this clan. We searched for her and searched however we found nothing. We assumed she died to the hands of nature and over time people forgot about her. Except you that is. You see that woman is your mother."
"So why do I have the Sharingan?"
"Did you experience a traumatising event recently?" Andrew gulped and began to recall the events of his parents murder.
"You don't have to tell me what happened but it seems related to why you're here now."
"Yes." Andrew was only able to get those words out of his mouth. His mind replayed those events over and over causing him to sweat and panic.
"You see this river?"
"Yes." Andrew was confused but still in a panic however as he watched the river and the life in it he began to calm down.
"I assume you awakened the sharingan that day but didn't know, you also had it when we met on the battlefield and when you fought that bully."
Karasu knelt down to get to Andrew's height and reached out a hand.
"What do you say about me training you?"
"Aren't you doing that already?"
"Well, yes. But this is more formal and I can teach you more. I can also train you to properly harness the sharingan.
Andrew didn't need time to contemplate, so he grabbed Karasu's hand and agreed to be his pupil.
"I'm in your care." He bowed to his new master.
"Head up, today we begin our training."
