EPISODE ONE: DOCTOR DELUSIONAL
It all started in the Maldives…
Footage of the "Maldives Madness" intro flashes on, and various clips of those castaways plays onscreen.
Eighteen eager contestants arrived, and battled for the title of Sole Survivor..
A few votes are shown briefly. Wade's at the top ten, Slade's at eight, Dante's at seven and T'Challa with that idol again. Then, at the end, Ripley's betrayal of the Princesses.
"The winner of Survivor: Maldives Madness, Snake."
His reaction is briefly shown, before getting back to more island shots.
Since then, there's been great characters, strategists, and blindsides along the way.
Two years later…they're back.
A red helicopter is flying though the forest, with the five representatives! All of them already seen in that montage.
A look inside, and Peach, Ripley, Zelda, T'Challa, and Slade are all in! Deathstroke himself looks at the camera…and gives it a wink.
Slade: I've picked up on new skills while I've been out. I'm still cutthroat, but I'm focusing more on the social game. You're going to see a new Deathstroke. A Deathstroke that will snatch the million from each and every one of these "All Stars."
The camera pans over to Peach, grinning as they fly over the island again.
Peach: I'm grateful to be getting the invite. After I failed at the finale last time, I don't know if I'd ever get an invite again. Now that it's here, I need to be much calmer than I was last time. That definitely cost me some votes. I'm not back for some votes, I'm back for all of them haha!
Immediate pan to T'Challa, who takes a deep breath. He already knows what he's in for.
T'Challa: Oh dear…hehe, how am I going to get out of this? I've crossed everyone on this plane at least once. If i want to get anywhere, I must get away from these people.
The camera pans to Ripley, who was one short last time.
Ripley: Last time I couldn't get it done. I can play the same way I did, but the only problem is…
Cut to Zelda's confessional.
Zelda: I never forgot what she did. She gave Snake another chance to try and separate herself, but all it did was create a problem for her now. If she never did that, we'd be working together, but now it's going to difficult to trust her at all.
The next plane comes flying in, blue with stars on both sides. Those four Samoa representatives are seated.
Metal Sonic's front and center.
Metal Sonic: That game ending choke replays in my mind over and over again. I'm BACK to lie, cheat, and terminate anyone in my way. They don't trust a scrap in my interior. This run will be more difficult than the last.
The camera pans to Diana, a confident smirk as their plan keeps going.
Diana: I'm known for my challenge prowess, but I have big competition. Metal's back and he ended me last time. Even though they'll need me for challenges…I don't need immunity to get ahead, and I came here to show it.
Another helicopter's hit the scene, light blue and that Fiji flag upfront. The SIX Fiji reps are inside, more getting the "celebrity" treatment.
That cameraman zooms into Gordon's eyes. He's locked in.
Gordon: You don't know HOW BAD i want this. I'm not letting one vote stop me from going all the way again. Game on you donkeys!
Right next to Chef, is that mischievous duo. Kano, Kabal, the Black Dragon..
They get to share a confessional together!
Kano: Oooh yes. Instead of messing with little leaguers we get to play with the big boys.
Kabal: Can we get into a GOOD alliance before doing that?
Kano: You can have fun with that hahaha.
Kabal just points at him.
Kabal: This guy.
The last face that camera focuses on is one of boxing's best: Little Mac.
Mac: A lot has changed since we last met. I've won more titles, made new friends, and rock draws scare me. If I ever have to go through one again, I'll be praying the hardest I ever have.
The last helicopter of the bunch comes flying in. It's dark purple, and there's five representatives from the fourth and most recent season.
Cyrax is taking another look out. Unlike what happened at a certain reward, he gets to enjoy the view.
Cyrax: A new season means a new me. If they catch me speaking like I was last time, I'll doom myself from the start. With Sektor here it might not matter at all.
From across the seats, Sektor's giving him a death stare.
Sektor: Send Cyrax home. Win. Those are my goals and I'll do whatever it takes to complete them.
The other three onboard ignore the tension. Between Sackboy, Li, and Dark Samus, that camera zooms in on Li first.
Chun-Li: I peaked too early, but it was too late to do anything. I was a threat to win and Daisy stuck her heel in my back. I"I'm switching it up. I don't need the final say, or "island mom" label. I need to be sneaky.
Those four choppers touch down, and the reps from each season hop out and make a b-line for two colored mats. Red and Green. The main colors from season one are back.
Or are they?
Jeff has four boxes next to him, which can throw off the analytical.
Cyrax: What twist does he have in store? Is he splitting is into tribes by season? If that's the case, Fiji's already won.
He's not the only one.
Little Mac: If there are rocks in there, Jeff's next.
Mac chuckles to himself with that joke.
Jeff has a big smile, hands on those hips, and a confident stare at the twenty entering the battlefield once again.
"Welcome to Survivor: Second Chance!"
Cheering begins from most of the cast, simple applause from others. Dark Samus and Sektor couldn't be bored less, and Jeff notices that. "Dark, Sektor, you don't seem too happy right now."
"I'll be happy when the games begin." Sektor responds, getting snickers from other villains here.
"So a gamebot as usual." Jeff's roast gets laughs from everyone, but that cyborg's still unimpressed. "Is that supposed to be funny?"
"Eighteen people did, so it is." Jeff points out that Samus clone next. "Dark, how are you feeling?"
"I share Sektor's sentiment."
"Well you'll have to be patient because we got a lot to cover on our mat chat." Jeff counters, scanning the area for someone else. "SLADE. It's been a while since we've seen you play. Last time, a lot of people online said you were an uptight a-hole."
"Asshole? Yeah, I was." That gets chuckles from some. "It got me voted out when I could have been saved by rocks. The rocks still got the last laugh on Dylan in the end."
Jeff grins thinking about that moment. "So you CAN own up to your mistakes. What happened to you?"
"What I did last time isn't going to work. These are all stars. We may not have any winners but we're all hungry for it." Slade explains, hyping the cast in the process.
Slade: I'm the least threatening of these villains..well. That's what I want them to think. They know how lethal Metal Sonic is. How sloppy Kano is. How smart Sektor is. I'm going to be here for a long time ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the show.
Jeff moves onto Metal Sonic next. "Speaking of villains..Metal, you know you have a reputation. How is that going to affect you?"
"I'll need something new. You won't see me asking for immunity necklaces because nobody here is that dumb. There's plenty of smart players: Cyrax immediately comes to mind." The Metal hedgehog says, looking over to him.
"Is the new competition tough?"
"No." That gets some "oooohs" from the cast. "Cyrax may think out of the box, but I did it first."
Cyrax actually chuckles inside that metal body. "We shall see."
Cut to another Metal confessional.
Metal Sonic: I'm already up to my tricks. The moment we get our tribes, I'll sneak away at night to establish more alliances. I'm loyal to no one, but I can always pretend.
Jeff moves on to a new castaway: Gordon Ramsay. "Gordon…so close, but no money. How has that impacted you coming into this?"
"I can't stop thinking about it. If you thought I was hard to put away last time, you haven't seen nothing yet." Those words get more cheers from the cast. Chef hasn't come to win any friends.
Gordon: I'm not here for New Fatu, I'm here to take what's mine. These people think I'm a loyal player all because of that "Fatu Forever" trend. I don't give a shit about trends! I need redemption!
"Speaking of second place…" Jeff turns to Peach. "Peach, you're the original runner up of this series. You got more votes than Jeffrey, but not as much as Gordon. Do you have anything you're looking to change?"
"Hmm.." Peach sets a finger on her chin. "Well Jeff I will say: there wasn't much I did but stay loyal to my alliance. It wasn't enough to win because Snake did so much more. If I had to name the best, it would be him. I couldn't beat him, but I can change my fortunes now.
Zelda claps. "Great answer."
"Zelda.." Jeff cuts in. "You fell just short. Is it the same plan? Or are you going to cut more throats?"
"Trick question, Jeff. I won't say I cut more throats because I'm not a flipper. When I find an alliance, I stick through it no matter what. Ripley played a different way, and it got her further." The Hyrulian explains, looking directly at her. "It's true."
"Ripley. What do you think about that?"
"We play different ways, and if we cross paths: we'll see what happens."
Ripley: Zelda still holds what I did against me. It's in her best interest NOT to be blinded by me, but they're probably talking about it right now.
Cut to Peach and Zelda, sharing a confessional.
Peach: Should we really trust her again?
Zelda: I'm not feeling her.
Back to the mat chat, Jeff accepts Ripley's answer, and gets back to that Man and Machine crowd. "Dark.."
"Dark Samus."
"..ok. Dark. Samus. You were one of the more ruthless players last season. You lied about anything just to get ahead. Do you think that will work for you this time?"
"I'm among some of the most ruthless to play. You're worried about me? Someone here got someone to give a necklace up, and gave them a blindside in return. The Black Dragon are the Black Dragon." She vents. "Recency bias is rotting your brain."
Jeff shrugs. "I'm not playing. THEY are."
"You know what I meant."
Jeff just moves on to the last person of this mat chat. Sackboy. "Sackboy the last time we saw you, Megatron tore you to shreds. Now that you're healed, you ready to go?"
"I'm pumped!" Sack shouts, hopping slowly from side to side. "I've never been more ready for anything in my life! Just LOOK at everyone! I saw them all on TV, and now..I'm here!"
His childish excitement makes Jeff crack. "Haha, I'm glad you're loving it. As someone who's watched all these seasons twice, once in person, one at home..I'm excited too."
That host digs into the boxes. He pulls out five red/green buffs with the..Maldives Madness logo on them?
"Normally I'd give you two buffs for two tribes. That will NOT be the case this time. Peach, Zelda, Ripley, T'Challa, Slade..these were your merge buffs. You're all going to wear your merge buffs until the merge itself. It's a reminder of where you once were, and how badly you need to get there again."
Not the weirdest thing Jeff has said, but it's a throwback for a few of them.
Four blue buffs with stars are tossed to the Samoa reps.
Six light blue buffs with the Fiji flag are tossed to the Fiji reps.
Lastly, those dark purple buffs are tossed to the MvM reps.
The twenty put them on, and stand there all lined up. That's not all though, as Jeff has a bag. What's he planning to do with it?
"Alright. Its been fun talking again, but none of you came to talk, you came to play. In my hand is a bag of rocks. Here's how this works: You'll close your eyes and draw." He glances at Mac, and the boxer catches it.
"Aw come on, Jeff…"
"..Whoever draws the red rock, you'll be on the left. If you draw the green rock, you'll be on the right. Close your eyes…"
The cast closes, and one by one they dig into the bag. Second time back, who knows how these starting tribes are about to be, and what's going to happen when they have to walk back. Everyone has a rock hidden in their hands.
….
"Reveal."
They flip their hands over, and now know who's going on what tribe.
(Prepare for repetition)
Li draws the red rock.
Blu draws the green rock.
Cyrax draws red.
Li Mei draws green.
draws red.
Mac draws green.
Diana draws red.
Metal Sonic draws green.
Gordon draws red.
Nefarious draws green.
The Black Dragon draws red.
Peach and Zelda draw green.
Sackboy draws red.
Ripley draws green.
Slade draws red.
Sektor draws green.
T'Challa's the last to draw red.
Shane's the last to draw green.
"Red, step to the left. Green, step to the right."
Twenty splits into two tribes of ten. They'd have time to reunite later, but Jeff rushes it along. "Those who drew green, you are the Hathuru tribe. Those who drew red, you are the Loabi tribe…Kano, let me ask you this first."
"Whaddya want?"
"I'd get onto you about that answer, but you are still Kano."
"Hehe…"
"How do you feel about your new tribe?"
Kano takes a good look, and has the smuggest smirk on the whole time. "We're gonna steamroll those lads. We're the elder gods and they are the peasants."
"Peasants?" Metal asks. "Must I remind you that three of us have won multiple immunities?"
"Psh. Leave it to the choker…" Metal just stares at him. The hostility is obvious but Kano doesn't care. "Let's get real Metal, how do you fumble that bad?
"You can't even make a finale."
"Oh you're bad bot." Kano teases. "What are ya gonna do? Roast me to death? I've heard everything in the book."
Li steps between them. "Alright, that's enough…"
"For now." Metal promises. Kano just waves goodbye as Li blocks his view. Jeff's eating this up with a smile. "While we're at it…Metal, what do YOU think about your tribe?"
"We'll work harder to spite him."
Jeff nods. "Love the attitude. Li, you're starting tribe lost FOUR in a row. Do you think history repeats itself?"
"I'm hoping it doesn't. There's no Rick, no Daisy, or Ulala. These are experts at the game." Li says, maybe needing to put quotes around that word experts.
"It's been fun, but this chat is over." Jeff admits, with two maps in hand. "Here are the maps to what will be SOME of your new homes…"
The maps are caught by Li and Zelda.
"Head over to your camp, and get used to it because you're going to need it. I'll see you in a few days for this seasons first immunity challenge."
With his dismissal, the largest cast so far splits off and heads different directions. With all these past experiences coming together, how's this even going to start?
Diana isn't super concerned about that, but she loves the attitudes.
Diana: Everyones going to give it their all. When it comes to the strategy, I may be outmatched but the challenges? I love the competition. I've been waiting to duel the Cyrax's, T'Challa's, and Kabal's of the world. Maybe I can finally get my win back from Metal too. We have a long road ahead to the end, and it's only going to get good from here.
Loabi: Chun-Li, Cyrax, Dark Samus, Diana, Gordon, Kabal, Kano, Sackboy, Slade, and T'Challa
Hathuru: Blu, Li Mei, Little Mac, Metal Sonic, Nefarious, Peach, Ripley, Sektor, Shane, and Zelda
Fun fact: "Hathuru" translates to '"rival" in Divehi. "Loabi" translates to "love" too.
Oh boy, everyone has something to say. Gordon seems like the hungriest out of everyone, Kano's just being Kano, Metal and Cyrax had a little exchange, Ripley/Zelda/Peach have some old wounds reopening, Sektor hates Cyrax, and T'Challa thinks he's screwed. There's that and much more from players like Slade and Li, who want to switch up how they play.
What's going to become of all that? What about the others like Shane, Nefarious, Blu, and Li Mei? We'll hear from them and others as the season premiere rolls on!
