So we come to chapter 4 of the redux. Keep an eye for changes for this one.
3bodyjaa: Thank you
Merendinoemiliano: I'm glad you noticed that. I can fix and improve stuff with this redux.
Valtazar: Thank you for enjoying the chapter. The idea of adding more Gods and historical figures was a great idea I had when rewriting this chapter.
Barricade: Unfortunately Henreitta Berg will no longer appear. Henrietta was just a big titty blonde in a hentai who I felt bad for and wanted to do more for her. This time, her appearance will be taken by someone else.
Ultra Magnus: Answer: If you mean by redoing the whole story after the first arc no. After the first arc things will be the same but with a few changes here and there.
Some1call4MR-E: Pretty much but like I said to Ultra Magnus there will be some changes here and there throughout the other arcs.
Geyser: Keep reading and you will find out
Iron Fire: Because of issues found in my original story and wanting to change some characters goals and give a proper first arc.
Chapter 4
Trouble with an Einherjar
P.E had ended and the chief topic going around was how the duel between Sigrun and Thor ended in a tie, the skills the Aesir and Valkyrie performed were incredible to those who had witnessed it. His first at Valhalla Academy had been exhilarating and was excited to learn more for the coming days. While today he had history with Hildisvini, magic training with Rossweisse, and P.E with Thorkell his full schedule had been filled out by Vili and Rossweisse and some of those decisions were… interesting to say the least.
7:00-8:00 Craftsmanship with Dvallin
8:00-9:00 Hunting with Skadi
9:00-10:00 Rune enhancement and Math with Njord
10:00-11:00 - Magic training and sparring with Rossweisse
11:00-12:30 - Lunch
12:30-1:00 - History with Hildisvini
1:00-2:30 - Sex Education with Sif
2:30-3:00 - P.E/combat training with Thorkell the Tall
He did not know who Dvallin or Skadi were but Njord and Sif were names he would never forget. Njord was the Vanir God of war and the father of Freyr and Freya. Sif, the woman Vetr mentioned in P.E, is, or was, his wife, at least that's what the books the Church had said but things may be different in the Norse world. Nevertheless he felt excited and nervous meeting them tomorrow.
"You!" A loud voice came as a pair of hands grabbed his shoulders, turning him around roughly to come face to face with a boy he had never seen before. He was slightly shorter than him with tan skin, wavy dark-brown hair ending above his neck, and a nasty glare in his hazel eyes. He was wearing a form-fitting red tank-top that showed his average build and ripped black jeans. Whoever this guy was, if he's looking for a fight he made a bad mistake.
"I hear you're the Son of Odin. I call bullshit! I was told Thor died so how is it that you have his name and power!?"
"Please take your hands off me." Thor ordered as calmly as possible.
He was answered by the stranger tightening his grip on him, "Like hell, I will! If you're really the God of Thunder, prove it! Fight me! Right here! Right now!"
The strangers' words about fighting drew more to the gathering crowd, some were chanting to see a fight occur.
"Come on Thor, kick his ass!"
"You're dead for touching the Allfather's son, Einherjar!"
Thor's brow furrowed, this guy was an Einherjar? They were humans who fell in battle and went to Valhalla and yet this Einherjar didn't look like he was Northern European. Either he stayed too long out in the sun to get a tan or wasn't from Scandinavia. Either way Thor would not give this punk what he desired. Drawing a deep breath to suppress the rising anger inside he said sternly, "No."
"Excuse me?" The Einherjar growled.
"You heard me. I said no. Now take your hands off me and leave me be."
The stranger's face turned red with fury. "You deny my challenge!? Then I'll force you to fight!"
He threw his fist forward to hit the red-head only to have it caught by someone from the crowd
"That's enough." Came the deep voice of Vetr from high above, "Headmaster Vili may tolerate your attitude, but not I. You will not go attacking students as you please, Einherjar. If you're so eager to fight him then do so in the dueling pits."
"If it allows me to kick this God's ass then so be it." The angry boy smirked and released Thor which allowed his fist to be let go by the tall teacher. With a final glare to everyone, he marched off to the courtyard.
"That Einherjar is insufferable." Sighed Vetr, "He's going to end up in the hospital because of this which I doubt will teach him a lesson not to pick fights with stronger beings. Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Thor reassured, "Who was that guy?"
"His name is Cadmus, and he's a Greek."
Thor blinked, "A Greek?"
"Yes. Greek. He's been in Asgard for four months and every time people try talking to him he pushes them away or attacks them. Even after all the trouble he caused, Headmaster Vili hadn't expelled him. That guy needs to accept he's no longer a human but a warrior of Asgard."
"I see." Was all Thor said, if Andreas was Greek did that mean any human could be an Einherjar?
"So, are you going to fight him?" Asked the Jotun.
"Of course not." Thor answered, turning to head for the doors, "I have better things to do."
Some time later
"Then Vetr stepped in and Cadmus stormed off to wait for me in the dueling pits."
"And you ignored his challenge?" Asked Rossweisse exiting the highway.
"Why should I put effort into dealing with a bully? He's no concern of mine. What is my concern, which I'm sure you still won't tell me, is this problem Asgard has." As predicted Rossweisse did not answer the Aesir prince, "Can you at least tell me who Dvallin and Skadi are? I assume Dvallin is a Dwarf since they are great craftsmen but who exactly is Skadi? An Aesir, a Vanir, or an Einherjar?"
"You are correct about Dvallin. He is a Dwarf who has been friends with Asgard for a long time. As for Skadi, she was a Jotun before being given the title as Goddess of Hunting."
One red eyebrow lifted, "A Giant became a Goddess?"
"Anyone can become a God or Goddess so long as they complete various tasks of the Gods to earn their trust and when they do the Chief God gives them powers. Many Giants have become Gods through this method but the two most famous beings to become Gods are Sun Wukong and Guan Yu. Humans tend to misinterpret many beings either as God's, Demigods, or monsters."
"Does this apply to all beings since Giants, Youkai, and humans have become Gods?"
"Not really. The Evil Piece System invented by the Devils to repopulate their numbers can turn anyone, except a God, into a Devil. A Chief God cannot turn another God, Monsters, Devils, Angels, or Fallen Angels into a God. What they can do, however, is train to become a Valkyrie warrior."
"Because Valkyries aren't Goddesses, just elite warriors."
"That's right." Rossweisse said driving the car onto Bifrost Boulevard, "Only Lady Freya and her twelve bodyguard's in the Aesir-Vanir War are Valkyrie Goddesses. The rest are half-gods."
Thor nodded, what fascinating history he was learning today, "So you are a half-Goddess but were are you from? Asgard or Vanaheim?"
One silver eyebrow raised at the question, "Why do you ask?"
"Because I'd like to get to know more about you."
Rossweisse's hands slipped on the wheel for a split second before regaining control. She never imagined anybody saying they want to get to know more about her. All her life she was given a wide berth because she chose studying instead of chasing boys like her fellow Valkyries did leading to her being called the Valkyrie who never had a boyfriend. Of course Rossweisse wasn't the only Valkyrie to never have a boyfriend; she was just unfortunate enough to be chosen to hold that title. Many of the girls she knew by name were still single and those who were in a relationship didn't last long.
They can keep calling me that all they want but like Thor said someone will be my boyfriend. Her eyes glanced at Thor who had resumed looking out the window. Was this kindness ingrained into him by the Church despite wanting to turn him into a weapon to use against their enemies or was he like this in his childhood? All she knew about the God of Thunder was that he was Asgard's strongest warrior and only the arrogant would try to defeat him. Either way his reassurance in the treasure room and willingness to know more about her showed Odin's son was a good man.
Seconds later they arrived at Hlidskjalf were Odin waited for them in the garage, arms spread wide in greeting of the two.
"There's my boy! Vili told me all about your first day and that issue you had with the Einherjar from Greece."
Thor nodded, "Exciting as I am to return to Valhalla I am not too keen on running into that Andreas guy again. Why hasn't your brother, sorry, my uncle, expelled him?"
Odin's eye twinkled, "Because, like my brother, I see great potential in that boy. He is just having a rough time getting used to his new life."
"But he has harassed so many students and now your son." Rossweisse said sternly, "Something should be done about him."
"Oh something will be done about him but it will come in the most unexpected way." Odin said cryptically as his monocle shimmered a bit.
The next day at the Valhalla
Yesterday had been fun but the second day at Valhalla was even better for the young Aesir. Thor learned how to safely use machinery from Dvallin while the Giantess turned Goddess, Skadi, led him in his first steps on how to be a hunter and Njord showed his knowledge of magic surpassed Rossweisse. Speaking of Rossweisse, the silver-haired warrior maiden was waiting for him to continue magic training and sparring on the opposite side of the training field.
"I'm here." Thor called once he found Rossweisse in the same spot they were at yesterday.
"Remember; mathematics and patterns are needed to perform spells." She said, stepping aside to let him cast spells at the targets.
"Mathematics and patterns." He repeated while raising his hands to try performing a lightning spell. He could do it. He will show Rossweisse he was capable of learning lightning because he was the God of Thunder!
"You bastard!" A loud familiar voice came from behind. Sighing Thor turned on the spot to see the Greek Einherjar march over to them. "I waited here all day, ALL DAY, and you refused my challenge!?"
"I told you I won't fight you," Thor said with a deep frown, annoyed that this guy was pestering him again. Didn't he have something better to do? Like sulking in a corner or something? Because that was the impression he was slowly getting about this guy.
"Einherjar." Rossweisse said, getting between the two, "You have no business troubling us. Go back to your class."
Cadmus' eyes narrowed, "Get out of the way! I'm talking to the Thunder God, not you!"
"I won't warn you again. Leave or your actions will be reported to the headmaster."
Cadmus scoffed, "Ohhh I'm so scared! They old fart won't expel me. That serious personality of yours drives all the boys away! Guess that's why you're not girlfriend material!"
Something within Rossweisse cracked at those words, her glare changed to surprise before tears started forming in her eyes. "I…I-I-I am girlfriend material!"
The Greek threw his head back and laughed, "Not what I hear! You're so focused on your books and duty that you never take time to try hooking up with guys! You spent your whole school life studying and never even tried to get laid once! Nobody would want someone like you! You're just-"
His words were cut short as a fist drove into his face sending him tumbling to the ground. Towering over him Thor was trying to keep his temper but the flash in his eyes said otherwise.
"Leave. Her. Alone." He bit out each word with a rumble like thunder. Hearing his demands to fight him he could deal with but insulting a girl, insulting Rossweisse, wasn't. This guy was asking to get hurt with how he was acting. He could knock him out right here and now…but instead he would humor him. "You want your fight so badly? Go tell the headmaster that I will duel you right now."
A cocky smile spread across the Einherjar's face before marching off to tell all of his challenge against the God of Thunder. When he was out of sight Thor sighed angrily before casting a concerned look at Rossweisse. "You alright?"
"Y-yes." Said Rossweisse wiping the last of her tears away, this was the second time Thor stood up for her being bullied about being single, "I..I could have handled it but thank you nonetheless."
"I'm getting pretty sick and tired of everyone, including Odin, saying you're not girlfriend material. I'm pretty sure there are some guys within Asgard who love a woman who is smart and mature." He looked at his clenched fist, "I'm not going to stand aside and let more people bully you like that. He's wrong. Everyone is wrong about you, Rossweisse. I know, someday, you will get a boyfriend you just haven't found him yet."
So focused on his fists and determination the young God was unaware of the flustered expression Rossweisse wore.
Fighting arena
When it was said that Thor would be fighting Andrew, everyone from the academy, and a few Gods and Goddesses, came to watch. Excitement was in the air at getting the chance to watch the two newest residents of Asgard fight it out. Apparently, this fight was started because a certain silver-haired Valkyrie had been insulted and Thor stood up for her. Said Valkyrie stood beside Odin, shifting uncomfortably at hearing her name being mentioned and the glances sent her way.
"This duel is because of the Allfather's bodyguard?"Alruna whispered.
"Yeah, that foreign Einherjar insulted her and Thor punched him. I never would have thought someone would ever defend her." Herja answered.
"Me too. We really should thank her for allowing this fight to happen. I can't wait to watch Thor beat that Einherjar into the ground!"
Odin's laugh caught Rossweisse's attention, "I can't believe you're the reason this whole thing is occurring! Man, that is too funny!"
Rossweisse turned away at the Allfather's words. Admirable as it was for Thor to stand up for her he didn't need to fight Cadmus for her but he insisted that it was time someone put him in his place. Just then there came the blast of a horn and the crowd roared with excitement. That was the signal for the combatants to enter. When Thor stepped out the girls of the academy screamed louder and shouted his name.
"That armor he's chosen seems to suit him." Odin was right, a silver breastplate covered his chest, while bracers with fur on the underside were strapped to his wrists. Secured around his waist was a fauld and tasset made of ash gray fur hanging just above sturdy brown boots. She knew where that fur had come from but how Odin was able to get it was still never explained. Beneath all of that was brown mesh armor to act as a second defense and gripped tightly within his left hand was not Jarnbjorn, the axe was strapped to his back, but a large bow and a quiver full of arrows secured on his right hip. All in all, he looked ready to take on a whole army with that armor.
In the arena, Thor watched the spectators wave and cheer him on from the railing. Scanning the crowd he spotted Rossweisse looking concerned and embarrassed that this fight was for her next to Odin who waved a foam finger like an excited child. In the front row he saw Sigrun, Alruna, and Herja wave a large banner saying with the words Thunder Lord is #1! on it, making him laugh a little. When Cadmus entered the cheering turned to booing and sneering that the Einherjar returned in kind. His foe wore a helmet and chainmail while his weapons of choice were the spear, shield, and sword secured on his belt.
"Alright, you two!" Vili called from the stands, "This is a duel, not a death match so victory is only achieved by knockout or surrender. Good luck to you both!"
The crowd roared with excitement to see the two newest people to join Asgard fight one another. The wavy-haired boy took a defensive stance and began circling Thor, who drew an arrow and knocked it.
Time to test the waters, he thought as he drew and loosed it at his opponents knees. The bow twanged as the arrow was let loose streaking through the air towards its target but failing to meet the Einherjar. Instead of skin the projectile was buried into the shield. Thor tried again, aiming for his foe's face but it too was blocked by a shield raised to protect the face. He was just about to draw a third when he realized Cadmus was swiftly advancing upon him to get him into spear range.
"So much for distance." He muttered, discarding the bow and arrows and drawing Jarnbjorn from his back for the melee battle. The spear came forward but Thor turned to the side, grabbed the shaft and broke the spear head off with a swift swing of the axe. He would have followed up with a knee strike but Cadmus dropped the broken spear and brought forth his sword in a swift smooth motion.
Cadmus tried pushing Thor back toward the wall but the red-head charged forward forcing Cadmus to go on the defense. As the axe clanged against the shield, Cadmus released a growl of frustration while putting all his weight into pushing the God back and trying to counterattack. The God was repelled but not knocked down as he hoped for making his attack futile. Thor easily parried the thrust with his axe and tried to punch the Einherjar in the shoulder but had his attack blocked once more by the shield. If his hands weren't covered by those gloves then the impact would have either broken his hand or hurt a lot more.
That damn shield is the problem! Thor thought as he parried another stab by Cadmus who immediately backed off. If he could try disarming the shield then he would be wide open to attack. Figuring out how to get around the shield wasn't the only thing on the young God's mind. He couldn't stop thinking about why he was so hostile towards everyone, even when they tried to help him. What excuses did this former human have to detest Asgard?
Relaxing his form, Thor lowered his guard and began circling Cadmus who kept his shield still raised. "There was no reason to act that way towards Rossweisse. If you apologize we can forget about this little dispute and go our separate ways."
"Like hell, I will!" The Greek retorted, "I wanted to fight you and if that was the only way to get you to fight then so be it! Perhaps I should keep doing that to antagonize you!"
Thor's brow furrowed, this guy was asking to get a beat down. "What is your problem? You are so rude to everyone but nobody did anything to you."
"You're wrong! They did do something to me! They tricked me! They made me an Einherjar!"
"How so?" Hopefully if he kept this going he could get the answers he seeks.
"That's none of your business!" Yelled Cadmus and rushed the God, shield held forward to bash him.
Thor rolled out of the way and seeing his opponent's back turned to him threw his axe at the Einherjar. It flew through the air and struck Cadmus in the back, the armor had managed to take much of the force but couldn't stop it from breaking through. He screamed in pain while the crowd roared with cheers. Thor charged Cadmus to try landing another hit but just before he could make contact, the former human spun around bashing his shield into Thor causing his opponent to stagger backwards at the force of the blow. With Jarnbjorn still in his back, Cadmus drove his blade into the God's stomach were only the mesh protected him and he grinned triumphantly at the pained expression the Aesir wore.
Thor swore he heard Rossweisse scream his name but the pain Cadmus delivered was excruciating. He felt the blade twist in his stomach as the shield connected to his face again followed by another and another causing blood to flow from down his nose. The crowds booing intensified Cadmus' onslaught but the Einherjar from Greece merely laughed.
"Is THIS your God of Thunder!?" He shouted to the crowd, "Zeus is a stronger God of Thunder than this guy!"
Thor's head canted and he saw Rossweisse lock eyes with him, worry filled her eyes before determination flashed through them. Her mouth opened and said, "Show him who you are!"
A spark shone in his blue eyes before the will to win sored like Odin's ravens within his soul. Tensing his muscles Thor brought his head forward slamming it hard into Cadmus' helmet covered head. It stung but it stunned his opponent allowing Thor to grip the blade tightly to keep it from being pulled from his stomach to make the wound bleed and begin forming the pattern and mathematics inside his head. Raising his right hand he saw a flicker of blue before stabilizing into a blue magic seal that cracked with lightning. Fear flashed in Cadmus' eyes at what was coming next.
The calculations were correct, the magic seal stabilized, and blue forked lighting shot forth like an octopus ensnaring its prey into Cadmus at point blank range. What screams he let loose was drowned out by the crack of thunder. The spell seemed to go on forever but in actuality it was only a few seconds but those seconds were spent in agonizing pain for the Valhalla warrior. Thor wanted to shout to the sky at finally managing to perform a spell but he would save it after the duel. Gripping the sword still in his stomach with his right hand to keep it from leaving to make the blood flow, Thor used his left hand to draw his dagger hidden within his right gauntlet to press it against the Einherjar's throat.
"Yield and this will end!" He applied more pressure to his hold. Either Cadmus would surrender or he would die, "You fought bravely! Don't make this worse on yourself!"
Everyone watched with anticipation of what the Einherjar would do. Surely he would surrender or maybe he was too stubborn to accept. This whole ordeal could have been avoided if he just apologized. Then it happened, Cadmus let go of his sword and tapped Thor's shoulder and the God released the Einherjar.
"Thor wins!" Vili declared with a big smile.
Thor extended a hand to the slumping Einherjar, "It was a good match. You almost had me. Your belief in the Greek Gods gave you the strength to face me. I commend you for that."
Cadmus said nothing as Eris and other medics rushed in to see their wounds prompting Thor to continue, "I suppose you still won't tell me why you hate Asgard?"
"Why should I tell you anything?" He whispered in pain as the axe was pulled from his back. The fire within his eyes diminished at his utter defeat.
"Because I asked. Because I want to know what your issue is with the people who took you in."
A long silence and then, "I wasn't supposed to go here when I die. It was supposed to be Elysium. I…died protecting someone and thought I'd be in Elysium. Instead, I wake up to find myself not in the golden fields but in a hospital."
Thor's attention peaked at the answer Cadmus gave him. Either he was in Norway visiting a friend or a Valkyrie was in Greece but the latter had to be impossible because that would be trespassing into enemy territory. Any further question he had was cut short by the nurses leading the Einherjar away.
"That was incredible, Lord Thor." Eir praised, "Truly wonderful. That usage of the lightning was a good plan."
Thor smiled at the elder Valkyrie before waving to the crowd who's cheering grew louder. He saw the Valkyrie trio hugging each other, Vetr giving a thumps up, Rossweisse looking relived and proud, proud no doubt at being able to use a spell correctly, and Odin waving his foam finger like a kid getting free candy. This duel would spread through Asgard and may even spread to other Nine Realms that the God of Thunder had returned.
On the opposite side of the stadium, one onlooker stared at the red-head in shock. Her eyes stayed locked on him through the whole fight. The God of Thunder was back and turned into a little boy? Inconceivable, nobody could have survived what he and Surtr did; it just couldn't be possible unless Thor had done something at the last minute to survive and maybe, just maybe, explained why he was turned into a child. Whatever the case she smiled and was looking forward to seeing her beloved again.
End
And that's a wrap, folks! We got more changes! Thor's brothers never showed up, changed the Einherjar's name from Andreas to Cadmus who those who know their Greek Myth will find interesting because I have big plans for him.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this chapter so please remember to fav, follow, and review.
See ya next time!
