Chapter Summary: Prompt by WritersBlock039: Here's a second. The Daxamite invasion has just finished when Kara gets a message on her extrapolator from Cisco about Oliver going to confront Chase on Lian Yu. Barry is gone, Team Flash needs to protect Central City, and no one has heard from the Legends. Kara decides to help Oliver, but Alex is celebrating her engagement to Maggie, and James and Winn won't be much help. That leaves two others who are more than willing to go with her: Clark Kent and J'onn J'onzz. A take on 5x23 "Lian Yu" where the Girl of Steel, the Man of Steel, and the Last Son of Mars arrive and don't just rip Chase's plans to pieces - they burn them to ashes - and maybe some romances are kindled as well: Oliver and Kara, and perhaps Clark with either Thea or Black Siren.

56. Lian Yu
Kara Danvers looked at the National City sky from the DEO's balcony while thinking about everything that happened in the past few weeks. She had to send Mon El away for his safety, she felt lost and sad but her friends and her sister helped her to come back from the darkness. She was experiencing life from a new perspective now. Alex was happily preparing to marry Maggie, the girl of her dreams and Kara was excited about helping her. It kept her busy, working on something great and her mind away from dark thoughts. She smiled to herself, thinking about her sister and how she was finally happy after such a long time. She was also glad for her friends, new and old ones; she had no idea what she would do without them.
- Kara?
She heard Alex's voice and turned around. Alex had a worried look on her face and Kara rushed to her direction.
- What happened?
- We just got a message… You need to see it.
- Ok.
EARTH 1
Oliver couldn't believe that nightmare was really happening. Chase had William somewhere in that hell of an island he hated so much. A lot of people that shouldn't be there were trying to help him as well, like his team, William's mom, his sister Thea. He couldn't stop thinking about what he would do if something happened to any of them.
They all had been separated and he had no idea what the hell was happening. He was looking for William when Talia showed up to attack him and they fought each other.
- You shouldn't have killed my father, Oliver! – She said while using her sword to try to stab Oliver in the stomach, but he deflected it, punching her jaw.
- I had no choice and you know it. It was him or the city. I chose my city!
- Wrong choice!
Talia turned around and was about to stab Oliver in the chest when a red and blue blur came in fast than a speeding bullet.
- You need to calm down! – Kara's voice echoed as Talia's sword broke in half when it hit Kara in the chest.
- What?
Kara used her super breath and blew Talia across the room, making her back hit the wall and she fell to the ground. She tried to get up and Oliver approached her, still surprised with Kara's presence there.
- I would be very still if I were you – He said.
- Listen, lady, I heard you kidnapped a child and this is not ok, so tell me where he is and where your boss is and you'll be just fine, but behind bars.
- No prison can hold me! And no one is a boss of me! – Talia got up, looking angry at Kara.
- In that case I can always bring you to my Earth; we have a special place for criminals like you. – She smiled at Talia and stopped the woman from punching her by holding her fist.
Talia screamed in pain and tried her best to let go, but Kara was really strong and she did not understand a thing.
- Where's the kid? I don't want to hurt you.
- You already are! – Talia screamed and Kara let her go.
- I'll ask again, where's the kid?
Oliver lost his patience and shot an arrow towards Talia's shoulder, taking advantage of the fact she was distracted by Kara.
- WHERE IS MY SON? AND THAT BASTARD?
- Oliver! – Kara said – Let me help you.
- Thank you for helping Kara, but I take it from now.
- Let me help you! – Kara said again, standing between Talia and Oliver, looking seriously at him.
Oliver had no choice but agree with Kara. He lowered his bow and looked at her, nodding with his head. He wanted to finish that, but something told him Kara had a plan, and he would have to trust her. He had no idea how the hell she got on Lian Yu and how she knew about that whole mess, but that conversation would have to wait.
Kara grabbed Talia by the collar of her suit and flew away with her. Oliver stared at that scene, wondering what Kara would do to get answers. He smiled to himself, knowing deep down he could count on her.
On the other side of the island, Laurel was staring with anger at Dinah. They had just fought and it was a tie, nobody won. They both stood up and stared at each other.
- It's not too late for you. – Dinah said as she stood aware.
- Shut up!
- Laurel, you can turn this around, help us, be the hero I know you are deep down.
- I'm not a hero!
- Can't you see Chase is manipulating you?
- I know he's helping me be free…
- No, he's using you as his minion and once he's done with you, he will kill you.
- Let him try.
- That's what I'm talking about – Dinah insisted – You are more powerful than him, you don't need this! Help us, and be truly free. You can do whatever you want.
- I was locked up in Star Labs and he set me free. I was locked up there because Zoom sent me to this Earth to end the Flash.
- Aren't you tired of men using you? Please, Laurel, I know you're better than this!
Laurel stopped to think for a second. She knew deep down Dinah was right, but she couldn't trust her or anyone there. She knew they all saw her as just a villain. Deep down she knew it wasn't like that at all.
- If I help you, will you let me go? Be free?
- Yes. If you do the right thing, you'll prove to everybody you're not a villain. You can start over. We can help you.
- I don't trust you… But I will help you, only because I can't stand being anyone's puppet.
Laurel and Dinah went to where Diggle, Thea, Felicity, Curtis and Renee were locked up in a cell to let them go. Artemis tried to stop them, with the help of some of Chase's minions and a huge fight broke out.
- I always knew you were a traitor! – Artemis said as she tried to hit Laurel
- I'm done with you all, don't take it personally – Laurel said using her scream to knock her down.
They all felt a strong wind around them and suddenly, out of nowhere, a tall guy stood between Thea and Captain Boomerang who was about to knock her down. The guy ended up punching hi abs and a loud crack of bones was heard by all of them.
- Ouch, that hurt! – Curtis said in relief.
- Who are you? – Thea said feeling confused.
- I'm Superman. Supergirl asked me to come and help you all. Are you ok?
- Oh… You know Supergirl… - Thea asked, surprised.
- I'm her cousin. – He smiled at Thea.
- Oh… Ok. – She said smiling back at him, and turned around just to see a green figure taking all of Chase's minions down. – And he is?
- Martian Manhunter!
- Oh… Ok again… - Thea said while helping Felicity get up from the floor and thinking that Superman was really hot and that family had great genes.
Superman grabbed the iron bars of the cell and ripped it off like it was nothing. Curtis kept looking at it like it was the coolest thing he had ever seen. And it was.
- Is everyone ok? – J'onn asked looking at everyone.
- Now we are… - Felicity said.
- I'm sorry; I think is great you're helping us, but… who are you? You're awesome, by the way – Curtis babbled.
- We're here with Supergirl – J'onn said.
- She's here too? – Renee asked – Cool.
- And… Black Siren is suddenly on our side now? – Thea asked looking a bit suspicious to Laurel.
- We had a chat. She can be free to be whoever she wants if she helps us. She won't need to be manipulated by evil guys anymore, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. – Dinah explained while they walked through the woods.
- Let's hope we not regret it later! – Felicity said – Curtis, where's my tablet?
- Well hidden, why? – Curtis said as he took a tabled from under his jacket.
- I need to check on something… - She said, looking around as she suddenly had a hunch.
They walked around trying to find Oliver, Kara, William and Samantha that were still nowhere to be seen.
- Thanks for the save. I'm Thea, Oliver's sister… You can also call me Speedy, I fight with Oliver's team. – Thea said as she reached her hand. Clark shook it and smiled at her and she honestly thought she would faint. What was wrong with her, she asked herself.
- Nice to meet you, Thea. I'm Clark. And no need to thank me… I'm glad you're ok.
- Let's just hope my nephew and my brother are too…
- I'm sure they are ok. We'll find him… your nephew.
- I think I feel them… Oliver and Kara… - J'onn said as he focused his minds on sensing Kara's presence and Oliver's. – They are on the other side of the island, and near them…there are two more people… A kid and a man…
- That's got to be William and Chase. But… Where's Samantha? – Diggle asked, worried
- I'm sensing two people on the other side, it must be them… - J'onn said, bringing his focus back to where they were. – I'll help her there, you find Kara and Oliver with others and go get William – J'onn said looking at Clark and then flew away.
Kara and Oliver walked around the island, with Kara using her x-ray vision to help them get through William.
- I think I saw where he is… Near the sea… There's a boat – She said while focusing her vision. – Let's go there.
- Kara, he's armed… If he feels any kind of movement, he will shoot William…
- Oliver, I'm bulletproof remember? Trust me… And follow my plan – She smiled.
Oliver was so worried and afraid for William; he wasn't thinking straight. Of course Kara could help save his son, he knew that. And deep down he felt really good about her presence there. He worried about the others but as soon as Kara told him she brought backup he got a little more confident.
- How again did you know we were here?
- Cisco sent me a message. He tried to reach Legends, but they are nowhere to be found, he thought they must be somewhere in time… And they were dealing with Savitar, so I offered to come and help.
- Weren't you guys dealing with some evil as well?
- Yes. We were. We just beat Reign up so… I couldn't just not come, I was worried about you and your son…
- Thank you for this… It means a lot. I just… I just want to find him and his mother and know they are safe.
- We will find them, Oliver.
J'onn ended up finding Samantha with Nyssa, that was trying to fight a bunch of guys and he helped her, knocking them all out.
- You two need to get out of here… I'm bringing you back to Star City. – J'onn said.
- No, I need to find my son!
- And I need to fight my sister! – Nyssa said with anger in her voice.
- Supergirl told me to help get everyone out of here. She got this, Superman got this. Right now I'm taking you out of here. They will be fine, trust me.
Before any of them could protest any further, he took them out of there, flying them back to the Arrow bunker in Star City.
Oliver ran like hell to reach the boat. As soon as he climbed in, Chase came up holding William and pointing a gun to his head.
- Let Him go!
- Not yet… - Chase said, smiling like a lunatic – You know… Life is really interesting.
- Shut up and let him go.
- QUIET! – Chase yelled, holding his grip on William – As I was saying… Life is really interesting… You keep telling yourself you're not a killer, but yet, here we are… You see the island, right there? I left a gift. That's why I brought all your friend to the party… I want you to prove me I'm right.
- I won't prove anything to you.
- You need to. Because if you don't, I shoot your dear son. But know this… If you do, the whole island goes BOOM.
Oliver kept staring at him, wanting nothing more than hold William and to take him away from that lunatic.
- I won't kill you…
- You would risk your son's life? Just like that?
- Don't do this!
- Then kill me!
- NO! – Oliver yelled.
Chase looked down and laughed, taking a deep breath. He gave William a hard push towards the ground and pointed the gun to his own head.
- Well, I think you deserve this… If you won't do it, I do it…I win anyways…
He gave a sick smile to Oliver and was about to pull the trigger and the gun melted in his hand and he yelled in pain.
- Not today! – Kara said landing in the boat. – Superman take William out of here!
A blur came in fast and took William away. Kara nodded at Oliver and looked at Chase.
- So you are Prometheus, the guy that tortured Oliver and kidnapped his child… You just tried to kill yourself and blow all those people out?
- Who are you, blondie?
Kara closed her hands and gave him a punch in the cheeks.
- Don't call me blondie!
Chase tried to punch her but she grabbed him by the hand and flew high, punching him one more time, throwing him back on the boat.
- Will you kill me instead of the Green Arrow? You'll blow up the island for that?
- No. I don't kill! Also, my cousin disarmed all the bombs in this island as we speak. – Kara said as she landed back on the boat. She looked at Oliver and nodded to him.
Oliver used one of his trick arrows at the same time Kara gave him one last punch, tying him up and making him fall down.
- But I have a special place for you to pay for what you have done! – She said, smiling at Oliver. – I told you to trust me…
Oliver lowered his head, feeling relief taking over him. He looked back at Kara and smiled at her.
- You were right.
Chase, all his minions, Talia and Artemis were all tied up on the ground. Thea told them how Malcolm went after Captain Boomerang after he tried to attack her and along with Slade Wilson, died fighting him. Samantha and William where reunited, and she couldn't stop hugging him, thanking all of them for saving her son.
- We can't help you all go back home now… - Clark said as he looked at Thea, smiling.
- I'm in, can't wait to get the hell out of this island! – Felicity said and the others agreed.
Superman and Supergirl helped Team Arrow go back to Star City, opening a breach with Kara's extrapolator. Kara and Clark held the prisoners to bring them back to Star City. Once they brought the last one in, Kara looked at J'onn that just arrived in the bunker.
- Chase and Talia can go with us. Like you said, no prison can hold them here, so I think they will be fine in the DEO. – J'onn said.
- That's ok for me. – Diggle said. – The rest of them will be brought to Argus.
Diggle and J'onn shook hands.
- And what about Laurel? – Curtis looked around, noticing she was among them.
- Like I said… I made a deal with her… She's free to go wherever she wants. – Dinah said.
- I want to stay. – Laurel said – I want to make up for everything I did. I want to help you all.
They all looked at her, in shock. Kara walked towards her and smiled at her.
- I know you don't know me at all… But… I just wanted to tell you that this is a big step. Whatever you have done, is never too late to change.
- Kara's right. – Oliver said – I understand you had your reasons… And I don't usually believe it, but I trust Kara's instincts. And deep down I always hope you would come around…
- Welcome to team Arrow – Dinah said as she offered her hand to Laurel, that cautiously shook it.
Later that day, Thea was alone in the bunker when she heard footsteps, and turned around abruptly. She calmed down after seeing it was just Clark, and smiled at him.
- I'm sorry if I scared you…
- It's ok… I'm just a bit jumpy after the last few days I had.
- I understand. It must have been hard…
- Thanks to you guys, everything worked out. Thanks again for the help.
- You're welcome. – He said.
- I'm sensing something… - She said… - Is everything ok with you? I barely know you, I know, but I can't stop feeling something's wrong.
- I'm fine… I'm just… recovering from some stuff…
- That makes two of us – She said a she suddenly had an idea and blushed immediately – Why don't we share stuff over coffee?
- That's a good idea. – He smiled back at her and they left the bunker, talking.
Kara and Oliver were looking over the city in the rooftop of the building that hid the bunker. Kara could tell something was still bothering Oliver, even after everything that happened, even after them winning.
- You can tell me… - She said.
- Tell you what?
- What's bothering you.
Oliver looked at her curiously. She knew him for a while, but not that well and still, she could read him. He thought about it for a while and nodded at her.
- I worry about William and Samantha… It's not the first time their lives were in danger because of me. I didn't think about that, back then, when I found out I had a kid. I shouldn't have said anything to Samantha…
- Oliver, you can't blame yourself. It's important you got to know your son and that he got to know you. And I understand it… I constantly fear for my friends and my family, but… I have to hope for the best and believe everything will work out, otherwise… why do we live for?
Oliver thought about what Kara said. What did he live for, fear? Avoiding stuff in life because it would be too dangerous? Avoiding living? She was absolutely right.
- You are a wise person, Kara Danvers.
- I'm glad I can help. – She gave him a small laugh, making him laugh as well. – See? The worried look on your face is gone… You're laughing… Look at that.
- Funny…. – He laughed.
Kara turned around and looked deep into his eyes.
- You know you can call us if you need anything right?
- I know… I just… I didn't want to bother; I also thought we could handle it… You also have your problems, what can of hero am I if I keep asking for help every time trouble happens?
- It's not every time, Oliver. It's just friends helping friends… Nothing wrong with that.
She looked at him and took two steps forward.
- I'm here for you!
- Thanks – He told her, looking back at her into her eyes. There was something there, he could notice. Some hidden sadness, something she tried her best to avoid. He knew that look because he had the same look for half his life. – I know this…
- This…? – Kara looked confused at him
- This look you have. I had the same one, once…
- I'm not following…
- It's ok. – He said – I get it. You lost someone you loved. You're sad, but you need to be strong for other people, so you hide it. You think you are not allowed to be sad.
- I'm… - Kara turned away, surprised. She wasn't expecting to hear all of that from Oliver especially.
- You are allowed to feel things, Kara. Don't let it consume you. Trust me; it's not worth it, even if it hurts.
She took a deep breath, trying to follow his advice, allowing herself to feel. She felt scared, sadness but also something new, a rush she never felt before. She turned around and ran towards Oliver, throwing her arms around his neck, kissing him. She noticed he was kissing her back, holding her by the waist.
They kissed each other with passion. Oliver was caught by surprise but couldn't deny he wanted it for quite a while now. If she didn't do anything, he would, for sure. He hugged her closer to his body and she turned them around, hitting his back against the wall. One of his hands went for her hair and Kara's hands were all around Oliver torso.
She opened her eyes and looked startled at him.
- I'm sorry – She said, taking a step back and using her super speed to get out of there.
Oliver kept staring at where she disappeared, still feeling the taste of her lips and smiled to himself.
- No problem. – He whispered to the wind.
