Prompt: danversqueen edited and posted an AU about SuperArrow on Instagram and I asked if I could write a short story based on it. I posted the edit on wattpad and challenged my readers to give me situations that scene could fit in. So here are the ideas of Karamelxttes, my_corner2k19, WritersBlock039, blackpantheryeet, 101abndiv and sairamelie.

57. The Dress
She was nervous.
She looked at her reflection on the mirror as she washed her hands, trying to take deep breaths. She just couldn't believe it.
She won a Pulitzer.
After Crisis, a lot of things changed in her life, but some remained the same. She had won the Pulitzer for breaking a story about a big corruption scheme inside Luthor Corp. Of course, Lex managed to clean his name, but it was still a huge story. And now, the party was finally happening. She her hair all up in a fancy bun, her fake glasses on and a beautiful pastel dress.
A few of her friends stopped by to congratulate her, like Sara and Ray, but they had to run back to their ship as some soul from hell escaped and they had to stop them from messing the timeline. She knew they used to deal with weirder things than her, but offered her help anyways. Sara told her to enjoy her party, that they were going to be back in a minute. Iris and Barry were still around the party, dancing with each other as were Clark and Lois, Cisco and his girlfriend Camille.
Kara came out of the bathroom, going to the bar to get something to drink when she saw a familiar face.
- The Paragon of Hope won a Pulitzer, I'm impressed! – Kate said, hugging Kara.
- Thank you – Kara said – I'm glad you could come.
- I wouldn't miss it for the world. Nice party – She said.
- Kara, there you are! – Alex came closer and smiled, greeting Kate – Your speech will happen soon…
- I know, you seem more nervous than I am!
Kara adjusted her glasses and grabbed her drink. She took a sip and turned around, seeing Oliver Queen staring at her. She tried to disguise her surprise.
- Hey… I… I thought you would be out of town…
- I had to come and see you. It's not every day your friend wins a Pulitzer. – He smiled, greeting Kate and Alex and giving Kara a hug.
- Thanks for coming. – She smiled
- After I was given a second chance in life, I decided to enjoy it the most I could and there's no better way than enjoying life with friends and watch them get the recognition they deserve.
- I'm glad you are here with us. – Kara said and looked at her sister. – It's time? Ok… I'll be back in a minute. – She looked at them and made her way to the stage as soon as Clark introduced her being the Pulitzer winner.
It was around time for Kara speech, and she tried not to babble. She spoke about her friends and family believing in her and how she couldn't also be where she was if it wasn't for Cat Grant pushing her to be exactly what she wanted, a journalist.
Kara came back to where Oliver was, just to notice he was talking to a beautiful brunette. They looked close and she seemed to be all over him, what made Kara feel a bit weird. She approached them and smiled at her.
- Hey, Kara I want to introduce you to my friend McKenna.
- Ouch, this is cold… We used to date – She laughed and shook Kara's hands.
- Nice to meet you. – Kara tried to smile the best she could. – So… You dated?
- Yes, a few years ago. – He said.
- It's such a shame it didn't work out – Kara smiled looking from Oliver to McKenna.
- Well, it's never too late to make things work, right? – She smiled touching Oliver's arm. – I have to go now; you can call me later Queen. Congratulations again, Kara – She smiled, gave Oliver a cheek kiss and walked away.
Oliver and Kara looked awkwardly at each other. Kara knew she didn't like that woman as soon as she let him know she wanted him back, but Kara tried to be nice deep down. Oliver approached Kara but stopped as soon as Alice and Kate came back.
- Hum… And who that was? – Alex asked
- An Oliver's ex – Kara said.
- I want to invite you to the ball we're having at Star City tomorrow night, it will be on Star City Palace Hotel… - Oliver said trying to change the subject. He could tell Kara was pissed. – I would love if you could come, it would be less boring.
- Oh, I would love to. – Alex said.
- I will be there – Kate said, nodding with her head as well and looking at Kara, noticing something was off with her.
- You can count with me – Kara gave him a wide smile – I have to talk to some people now, excuse me… - Kara turned around and walked away.
Kate couldn't shake the feeling that something had pissed Kara off. She walked after her, worried.
- Are you ok?
- Never felt better! – Kara smiled at her friend and went to talk to people around the room, congratulating her.
- Ok… - Kate said, not buying it.
The next day, Kara woke up feeling determined for Oliver's ball at night. She was still pissed about the way that McKenna was throwing herself to Oliver and tried to convince herself 100 times she wasn't jealous, until she gave up. She went to work, wrote some stuff for CatCo, and including about the great ball Star City's City Hall was organizing that day. She saved the day as Supergirl and by night, she was going back to her apartment, until she stopped at some clothing store and saw something that she couldn't just ignore.
- That's it! – She smiled to herself, going inside the store and buying the most beautiful dress she has even seen.
Once back home, she showered and started to get ready, at slow pace for the first time in a long time. Alex came in with Kelly and found Kara acting really weird.
- I don't think I saw you get ready for anything in slow pace since I found out you are Supergirl – Kelly said, also finding Kara behaving weirdly.
- I just… Wanted to take my time. – She smiled, finishing the last touches.
- Wow… - Alex said as she looked to her sister. – Are you trying to impress someone? – She teased.
- No, I'm just feeling good about myself. – Kara blushed, but smiled – Are you guys ready?
- Yes, we came to pick you up. Alex is driving. – Kelly said and Kara looked at her.
- Oh no, I will drive.
- I want to get there tonight, Kara… Star City is a bit far – Alex laughed and the three of them walked out of the apartment.
Oliver went to greet his friends at the ballroom of City Hall, a place no one ever used for quite some time until Oliver became Mayor and decided to hold charity events there to help people in need. Brainy, Nia, Ray, Barry, Cisco and Sara arrived just as the party has started.
- Barry Allen showing up on time, that must be a first… - Oliver laughed.
- There's a first time for everything, right? – Sara laughed and they all came in.
Dinah, J'onn, Laurel and Diggle arrived right after them. Kate and Jefferson arrived twenty minutes later. Alex and Kelly came in; greeting Oliver and right behind them, there was Kara.
Oliver looked at her in awe, trying to disguise his looks at her. She wore a beautiful silk dress that went from dark green in degrade to black. It had a thin silver belt and it had a discrete opening on its right side, showing a bit of her legs but not too much. She had silver heels that made her look a bit taller than she was. Kara looked back at him, her glasses on and her hair all down and wavy, she was all smiles and greeted her friends. She stood in front of him and opened her arms for a polite hug.
- Congratulations on the party.
- Thanks for writing the article and showing me before publishing it.
- You're welcome. – She smiled and turned around.
Oliver noticed her dress let half her back exposed, and it made him wish they were alone right now.
- So we have the former mayor being honored with a ball for his charity work and an amazing journalist that just won a Pulitzer yesterday… - Cisco said as he raised his glass of champagne. – A toast to Oliver and to Kara.
Kara and Oliver looked at each other and nodded with their heads. Oliver actually couldn't stop staring at Kara, what made Kate look at him even more suspicious than the day before. Barry looked at her, smiling.
- I'm so proud of them!
- Me too – Kate smiled and looked back at them.
People were dancing, drinking and talking all around. Alex nodded to Oliver and Kara and went with Kelly to get some drinks. Kara walked discreetly a bit to the corner and Oliver walked along, while drinking a sip of champagne.
- Is McKenna coming?
- Why? Are you jealous? – Oliver teased, giving her a tiny smile
- Pff…Me? Jealous? Why would I be jealous? – She said practically in a whisper. – I have 0 reasons to be jealous, it's not like you're serious with somebody, so you can do whatever you want… Please…Jealous… - Kara laughed.
She thought for a while about it. She was sure she was a bit jealous, but she would never admit it. She knew there would be always woman throwing themselves to Oliver, and she usually never cared about it, but she could tell there was history there, she also knew they never decided anything, she was a bit unsure about his feelings, and her feelings, she couldn't tell what it was actually. She liked being around him, and hooking up, for sure, but she had no idea if they were something more, they were trying to see where it would go before telling anyone, and usually it was pretty exciting to keep the secret, but sometimes she just wanted to kiss him in front of everyone, especially McKenna.
Kara started to walk and Oliver walked by her side.
- No, she's not coming. She had to work. You have no reason to be jealous by the way, but it's kind of cute seeing you like that.
- It's not cute… - Kara looked at him, serious.
- You're cute…. By the way, that's a beautiful dress.
- Thank you – Kara said as she adjusted her glasses.
- Shame I'll be ripping it off you – He looked down at her dress and then back to her face, with a challenging look.
Kara blushed and took a look down at him. She loved when he dressed all up for social events. She tried to keep calm, since they were in public, but it was getting really hard to do it. Something about him made Kara's mind stop working properly. Oliver was no better than her, really wanting to go with his promise since he saw her in that dress. He had a feeling deep down that her wardrobe choice wasn't random at all.
- I can say the same about that suit. – She looked knowingly at him, noticing he took a deep breath. He knew she was literally serious about that.
They stared at each other with pure want in their eyes, completely forgetting where they were.
- You two, really? – Ray said, looking in shock to the two of them.
Oliver turned around and Kara looked at where he stared, just to see all of their friends staring at them with a questioning look. Kara could bet she looked like a tomato right now. She had no idea they were around them close enough to hear what they were saying. She felt like burying her face in the ground, if she could.
- That was some serious flirting… I mean… - Barry said, making Nia smile at Kara, showing her thumbs up.
- Yep, usually people talking about tearing each other's clothes is way more than flirting – Sara said as she drank all of her champagne.
- I kind of knew it! – Kate said and smiled at Dinah – I told you something was off…
- I'm new so I'm not that shocked as everyone else… But I can tell it's a big deal – Jefferson said, feeling a bit lost.
- For the love of God, please stop talking about Oliver's and Kara's love life… It's… Awkward.
Oliver and Kara looked at each other. Maybe it was about time they stopped hiding, there was no point anymore. Kara reached for his hand and squeezed it.
- Thank you Diggle – Kara smiled at him and looked at everyone – We weren't sure what was going on so we kept it to ourselves…
- But now we're dating.
Kara looked surprised at Oliver. He smiled back at her, knowing for sure what he felt and knowing by the look in her eyes she wanted the same. He was a bit nervous at first, thinking about it, but the way she squeezed his hand told him everything he needed to know.
- Yes, we are.
- Now if you guys will excuse us… - Oliver said, pulling Kara with him away from everyone.
Oliver couldn't actually hold back anymore. Everyone knew now, so he could just grab Kara and go wherever they wanted to be, just the two of them, celebrating each other. Kara started laughing and Oliver joined her. He brought his lips closer to her ears.
- So… That coat closet downstairs…
- Right after you – She said as they hurried up downstairs.
- Kara blushed again, remembering the first time they adventured themselves inside that coat closet. It was the first time they kissed and she would never forget it. It became their special hidden place.
The rest of them kept looking at where they disappeared. Sara looked at everyone and laughed.
- I bet they'll do it. – Sara said, raising an eyebrow.
- Please, stop… - Diggle said as he walked away, not believing what he was hearing. – I don't want that image right now.
- Ok, some of us are always with them, almost 24/7… How could we never notice it before? – Dinah looked confused.
- When people want, they find a way, believe me… - Alex said and looked at Kelly – Not talking about me, I swear – She laughed.
- Ok, there's anyone else hiding a relationship here that wants to come out or can we move on with our lives?
Everyone laughed and walked across the room, enjoying the party with each other while Sara and Barry shared a quick look that no one noticed. She smiled and turned around, dancing with Nia while Barry kept watching her.
- I need a drink – Laurel said and J'onn agreed, going with her to the bar.
Inside the closet, Oliver slammed Kara's back against the door roughly, grabbing the edge of her dress and bringing it up her tights, closing the gap between their bodies. Kara let a small gasp out between their passionate kiss. She grabbed his ties, pulling him even closer and taking it off him. Next, she took his suit out, throwing it on the floor, tearing his shirt up. Oliver looked at her, and smiled, giving playful bites through her neck and reaching for her exposed back, searching for the collar of her dress and opening it.
- Someone promised to rip this dress off…
- Someone's impatient today.
- Yes, I am – She smiled as he grabbed the front of the dress, ripping it up in half.
She loved how strong he was, especially because he had 0 super powers. She turned them around, making him hit his back on the wall of that tiny space, reaching for his belt. Oliver's lips reached for hers, his tongue battling hers as one of her hands reached for his neck and the other went down his body.
- I have some tricks. – She whispered, kissing his neck, near his ear.
Oliver almost fainted while he felt Kara doing wonders to him. Oliver lost it, turning them around one more time, dropping all the coats to the ground as he moved fast, lifting her up and pressing his body against hers, her back hitting the wall while he took her there. His lips went down her chest while she tried not to scream.
- I'll have to… User super speed for us… To get out of here – Kara laughed as Oliver kissed one more time, going lower through her body.
She grabbed his hair, feeling out of breath suddenly, trying to keep her moans low. Oliver came back up, kissing her roughly, taking her one more time as they made a total mess on that closet.
After a while, Oliver held Kara by the waist and she rested her forehead against his, smiling at him as they both took deep breaths.
- Now I definitely have no condition of getting out of here like this.
Her hair was a huge mess, she was all sweaty, her glasses on the floor and her dress ripped all the way down. Oliver was no better than her, only his pants survived Kara's strong grip, his body had a few marks all over it and he was also sweating.
- Let's go to my place – He whispered to her ear, giving a small bite.
- Yes. – She whispered and grabbed Oliver and their stuff, using super speed to get to the Queen Mansion.
At the Ballroom, Sara danced among the other heroes when they all felt a strong wind passing by. She looked at Barry and laughed.
- Told ya!
