Chapter Summary: Situation prompt by WritersBlock039: Kara has to go away because of the anti alien movement / kryptonite in the air and Oliver offers to help her.

64. Save Me

Things at the DEO were not good. Supergirl was deeply hurt in a mission, because alien haters got their hands on the device used in the Daxamite invasion, to make it spread kryptonite in the air. J'onn managed to grab Kara when she fell from the sky, unconscious, and rushed back to the DEO. Alex rushed to the medical area, trying anything she could to save her sister. She felt desperate. The whole world was infected, the air was poisonous to Kara and she could feel her sister was dying.

- We need to do more, this isn't helping! – Alex said as she helped the doctors.

- Len's suit won't be ready today, we can't wait. – J'onn walked from one side to the other. – Unless… - he stopped abruptly, having an idea.

- Unless what? – Alex asked feeling terrified. Anything, any idea now would be more than welcome.

- Our friends at Earth 1… Maybe only this universe was affected. Kara can go there until we have that suit ready. Because it will take us a while to clean the kryptonite from the atmosphere.

- You mean… Send Kara away? – Alex nodded – This can work… Where's her extrapolator?

- I can grab it – J'onn said and flew to Kara's apartment, coming back only a few minutes later. – Here!

Back when Kara got the gift from Cisco, after the alien Invasion on Earth 1 that Kara helped with, she showed the extrapolator to Winn and he made some improvements so the communications would be a lot easier, besides opening breaches. J'onn pressed a button and surprisingly, it was Oliver Queen that picked it up.

- Is Barry Allen around? – J'onn asked – We need help, Supergirl is dying. We need to get her out of here.

Oliver didn't waste any time and opened a breach, jumping in to Earth 38. Alex, Brainy and the doctors were caught by surprise.

- Act now, explain later! We can't waste time! – Oliver said as he grabbed Kara and along with Alex and J'onn, went back to Earth 1.

Oliver placed Kara on a mattress in the Arrow bunker, the one he used to spend the night if he had to. Alex approached her and looked at Oliver.

- I asked Cisco for an extrapolator, just in case. I know Team Flash sometimes gets their hands full and since Kara did so much for us the last time, I thought it was only fair for us to be prepared in case she ever needed… She saved my life… And just as I predicted, Team Flash has their hands full.

- And you don't? – J'onn asked. – Thank you by the way, for acting fast.

- I also have my hands full. I just came back from a mission, but my team can handle it if anything else happens. – He looked worried at Kara. – What happened to her?

It was true. Oliver had now a big team of vigilantes and 2 computer experts, and that is why he trained them. Because if there was ever any need for Oliver to step away for a day or two, that they would be able to handle whatever happened.

- Alien haters are gathering in our Earth, trying to harm them… They know about Supergirl's weakness and managed to steal a device from us. They turned into a weapon and spread kryptonite on our atmosphere. We have an ally working with us to build a special suit that will be safe for Kara, at least until we manage to clean the air up, but it won't be ready for the next few days.

- I guess hatred is a multiverse thing… - Oliver said as he felt the anger taking over him. He was there once, being persecuted, being accused of being a criminal, locked down. He knew too well how it felt, and couldn't actually believe someone would do this kind of thing with Kara, because she was an alien. She was better than many humans he knew, that was for sure, he thought.

- I can help. She can stay with me until you guys finish this suit. –Lena said.

- I don't know… - Alex – I can't leave her…

- Alex, you need to help Lena, and help with the fight against those haters… I don't know Oliver that much, but for what Kara told us about him, we can trust him. – J'onn said as he rested one of his hands in her shoulder – Kara will be ok.

- I'm not distrusting you, I know you guys are heroes here, Kara told me – Alex said – I just never had to leave my sister in another universe…

- Alex… - Oliver took a few steps forward – I promise you Kara will be safe. We protect each other here; I consider her part of my team. Those idiots have no way of coming here, and even if they could, they would have to go through me to get to her.

Alex smiled and hugged Oliver, taking him by surprise. To see Kara almost dying, messed with her head, with her feelings.

- Thank you so much! I will… I think is safer for me to leave her extrapolator here with her. – Alex grabbed the device and handled it to Oliver - I don't want to give them a chance to find out about this and be able to come after her. – Lena said the suit will be ready in 3 or 4 days…

- You can open a breach and come straight to the DEO in 4 days, just to be sure. With that suit, Kara will be safer and be able to come home – J'onn nodded with his head to Oliver and shook his hand.

After a while, Kara was still out. Alex and J'onn stared at Kara one last time before saying their goodbyes and going back to Earth 38, they had to help Lena and go after those who attacked Kara. After they were gone, Oliver did as he promised, and sat on a chair next to where Kara was, waiting for her to wake up. It took an hour, but Kara finally opened her eyes. She jumped from the mattress, looking around confused and desperate, taking deep breaths.

- What happened? Where am I?

- Kara, it's me… Calm down… - Oliver rushed to her side.

- Oliver? How… What… - Kara kept looking around.

- Alex and J'onn called me on your extrapolator and I brought you here. I told them I would help you.

- What happened?

- Don't you remember?

- Just feeling really sick, like my veins were burning… I'm sure it was kryptonite. – She looked scared at Oliver – Kryptonite…

- Does not exist here… You're safe – Oliver said – Haters on your Earth spread kryptonite with some device in your atmosphere… They are working on a special suit for you, but it won't be ready in the next 4 days. So I offered for you to stay with me.

- With you? Oh, thank you… - Kara said, not noticing her cheeks were red. – But Alex… Where…

- She had to go back to help your friend… Things on your Earth don't seem ok, they couldn't stay for longer.

- I need to go back! If things are ugly there… They need Supergirl.

- They need you alive, Kara. You can't go back there now… I promise you in 4 days, I'll open a breach and take you straight to DEO. Everything will be ok.

Kara looked around, feeling helpless. She knew her world was in danger, she couldn't help now because she could die, and her friends were vulnerable with those alien haters out there. She felt her eyes filling with tears and her lips starting to tremble. It was all hitting her hard now. The plan needed to work, the suit needed to be enough for her to keep fighting. She couldn't lose anyone else now and she felt like the risk for that to happen was even closer now. Oliver brought Kara into a hug, feeling that she deeply needed it, even if he wasn't that much of a hug person. This was an exception.

- I have an extra room in my apartment; you can stay in my room for a few days…

- I could never take you out of your room Oliver; I can sleep on the couch or in this other room…

- No. It's not up for discussion – He gave her a small smile – My room is more comfortable, believe me. But first, we should go eat something. Are you hungry?

- I'm always hungry – Kara laughed – I'd like that.

Oliver nodded and grabbed his things so they could go. Kara stopped out of sudden and stared at Oliver.

- What? – Oliver said as he looked worried at Kara.

- Thank you. For helping me…

- You saved me even when I was a jerk to you before, it was the least I could do.

Oliver took Kara to eat in the Big Belly Burger and Kara just loved it. She had 4 burgers and 2 milk shakes and that was something Oliver didn't see every day. Kara laughed at the face Oliver did when he saw her order.

- Metabolism… - Kara whispered to him, laughing and Oliver laughed along.

- I get it…

After finally being full, Oliver took Kara to his apartment. Since the breakup with Felicity, Oliver lived there alone while she found a new place for her. He was used to being alone there all the time, but now, with Kara there, it felt better somehow, way less lonely for sure.

Kara was in the living room, watching some TV while she heard the noise of the shower on. She smiled to herself, being glad of having such amazing friends on this Earth. She knew just a little about Oliver but the last time they fought together showed her he was a true hero. Barry told her a few things he knew, but it only scratched the surface.

- If you want to take a shower, there are some clean towels in the bathroom.

Kara turned her head just to see Oliver with a towel on, his wet hair all over the place, messy, and some drops of water going through his naked chest. Kara felt her cheeks burning again and adjusted on the couch, letting a small cough out.

- Th… Thanks. I will. – She smiled, getting up from the couch and rushing to the bathroom.

She felt his scent once she passed him by and tried to focus on the task ahead of her: taking a shower and try to calm down and believe everyone in her Earth was fine. She worried about many things, but understood there was nothing she could do at the moment; she had to be alive to be able to help anyone.

While showering, she thought about everything that happened. It all felt surreal. She tried to relax, remembering the feeling she got once the kryptonite filled her lungs. She washed her face, letting the warm water fall on her skin, trying to take her mind off of it; otherwise she wouldn't be able to sleep. As soon as she turned the shower off and grabbed the towel, she realized one thing: She only had her suit with her and she couldn't keep walking around with that on.

For Rao! She thought.

She wrapped herself in the towel, and tried to dry her hair as much as she could. She slowly walked out of the bathroom and saw Oliver in the kitchen, drinking water. She tried her best to keep her voice normal, he was still shirtless but with shorts on. It was summer after all.

- Hm… I… I realized I just have my Supergirl suit… Can you… - Kara said – Can I borrow a shirt, or something?

- Oh… - Oliver said as he was caught by surprise – Sure… I'll grab a shirt and a pair of shorts.

- Thanks…

After properly getting dressed, Kara felt way better. She walked to the living room and sat on the couch next to Oliver. He stared at her and smiled.

- The shirt looks good on you.

- I can totally nail an Oliver Queen look – Kara laughed, making Oliver laugh as well.

- Couldn't agree more…maybe more than I do – He laughed.

Kara Oliver kept chatting while watching some old movie on TV. They shared a few stories about people that tried to kill them, or missions with their teams that felt like going wrong but everything ended up working out.

- I guess we have more in common than I thought… - Kara said – But… I can't imagine how hard it was for you…

- For what you just told me, I can say the same… To be strong is way more than just brutal force… It's about our feelings as well… I took a dark path once everything happened, you are positive for what I could see in our last team up. I could never do that.

- I had my dark days as well…

- I find that hard to believe.

- Is true… - Kara stared at Oliver, remembering the day she got infected with red kryptonite. – I have hurt so many people… I was infected with red kryptonite. And everything that I boiled up inside me, I let out.

- I think anyone at some point in their life would let it all out at least once, considering everything that happened to you, red rock or not. It doesn't mean you have darkness in you… It doesn't make you a bad person.

- I appreciate that – She smiled back at him.

They kept talking a bit more and then a really cool movie started. Kara adjusted on the couch, not noticing how close she was to Oliver. She unconsciously rested her head on his shoulder and Oliver stared at her, smiling. By the end of the movie, Kara was sleeping calmly on his shoulders, so Oliver did his best not to wake her up. He gently grabbed her and took her to his bedroom, putting her in the bed and adjusting the sheets above her. He stared closely at her and she started opening her eyes.

They kept staring at each other for a few seconds. Their nose almost touched, Oliver felt like he was under a spell, Kara could feel her heart beating fast. The whole world seemed so far away. Oliver meant to step away and let her sleep, but Kara reached for his hand, stopping him from moving.

- You can sleep here… Is your bed after all…

- No, it's ok…

- It's ok. – She said as she gave a small push on his hands, making him come closer.

Their noses touched this time around and Oliver could smell the sweet scent coming from her. Their lips brushed each other just slightly, and Kara managed to make room for him on the bed as her hand went for his neck. It felt like an eternal tease, like both were unsure who should make the final move first. Oliver finally gave in, his lips covering hers fully, the bit of his tongue touching hers. Kara deepened their kiss as Oliver's body covered hers. She gave him a playful bite and smiled, looking into his eyes.

- Are you sure? – Oliver asked as she stared back into her deep blue eyes.

Kara kissed him once again; lifting her upper body from the mattress, making Oliver lay on his back. She slid her legs over his as she pressed her body against his, feeling him hug her waist tight.

- Is this a good answer? – She said as her hand slowly went down his body, caressing the muscles of his abs and further.

- It's… a great answer – Oliver said with a grunt as he attacked her mouth more passionately.

Kara helped him get rid of his shorts while he did the same for her. They kissed while he opened his shirt that she wore and once their skin touched, it felt like fire. She nearly died earlier and before that, once again, she felt the terrifying effects of kryptonite. She had to deal with a lot of things her entire life, believing she couldn't have it all most recently, when she lost Mon El. She was sure this was her destiny, but maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't have to be totally alone. Yes, she could have it all, she could let her feelings take over just for once. She could act on instinct; she could feel like kissing gorgeous Oliver that insisted in appearing in front of her shirtless like he was used to it. She could feel his muscles and every inch of him with her hands and kiss his lips, his neck, feel his beard against her soft skin and not feel guilty about it.

Oliver on the other hand, had no idea his day would start with him worried for Kara's life and end with both of them in bed, like this, if someone had told him, he wouldn't believe them. He didn't realize he felt like this towards her until he saw that earlier with a half dry hair and a towel wrapped around her, blushing and asking to borrow his clothes. And once she was in his clothes, his heart felt like melting. He knew he wouldn't be able to resist any longer.

And he didn't want to. And he had every intention of letting her know that.

Oliver made a fast move, turning them around. Their foreheads touched as they just looked into each other's eyes, feeling each other's breath. Oliver couldn't believe how gorgeous Kara was, inside and out. His fingers raced her cheeks and chin and his lips approached her lips once again, taking his time to taste her tongue battles his. He could feel her hands in his back, her nails scratching him as he moved his hips against hers practically in slow motion. It was driving her crazy and he knew it. He smiled between their kiss, his hands exploring all over her body until all she could feel was ache. He stared deeply into her eyes, noticing it was a darker shade of blue. She could feel all of him, whispering moans as he stared at her with passion in his eyes.

- You're so beautiful… - He whispered as they moved slowly together.

- You're… - Kara could barely breathe and couldn't be patient anymore.

She fully attacked his lips, urging him to turn around once again, her lips attacking his neck, cheeks, and lips. She couldn't be aware of her actions anymore only could feel him and the heat, and suddenly, all of her fears vanished away.

She felt safe.

She felt everything at once.

- That was… - Oliver whispered as she slightly bit the skin on the base of his neck, giving small kisses afterwards.

- Perfect – She said as she looked at him – The next 4 days will be… Interesting – She smiled lying next to him, resting her head on his shoulder,

- I can't wait!

He could definitely not wait.

Spoiler Alert: TheBiersack_Girl15: honestly I would love for Barry to jump to Earth-38 because he needed help from an Alien against Aliens and accidentally jumping in to Kara and Oliver getting freaky. And you know that awkward interaction and what happens afterward. (I made it happen after Invasion because Oliver and Kara met there. I'm mixing season 5 Legends with season 2 to make more sense haha – Zari is the 2.0 version - Crisis didn't happen yet)
