69. A different day

Kara stepped inside Star Labs, wondering what was happening now since Barry, her friend that was also a superhero like her, sounded really anxious in his voice message. He told her he could only talk about it in person, so she used her super speed to change into her Supergirl outfit and stormed out of her apartment, flying to Central City. It was a real quick flight, but it gave her enough time to think about everything that has happened since she last visited.

The world, actually the multiverse basically ended, she made new friends, lost a dear one, then he came back to life after a while and now each one of them were trying to keep their cities together as they dealt with all the changes that happened. To remember 2 different timelines wasn't an easy thing to do, but they were trying their best. Especially her, because half the world saw her worst enemy, Lex Luthor, as a hero and she was really pissed about it.

As soon as she stepped inside the cortex, she saw Barry Allen, Sara Lance, Jefferson Pierce, Oliver Queen, J'onn J'onzz and Kate Kane already there, talking. They stopped as soon as they saw her. Kate walked closer and hugged her, happy to see her closest friend among all superheroes.

- You know, for someone with super speed, it took you a while to get here… - Oliver said.

- It didn't take that long… - Kara said as she looked at Barry, who nodded at her – Ok, I got distracted… But… What's the emergency?

- Yes, Barry, now you can finally tell us! – J'onn said, feeling a bit annoyed at all the secrecy.

- Well… Nothing.

- What? – Oliver said in a serious face – Nothing?

- Yes, nothing… I mean… I gathered you all here because… Ok, don't kill me, guys – Barry said noticing Sara and Oliver were practically murdering him with their looks – I just thought it would be fun if we could hang out, like actually hang out.

- You said it was an emergency. – Kara said.

- It is. We're all friends and barely see each other. Last time, Oliver died… Well, he came back but you get the point. – Barry said as he walked around everyone – Also, we can take this opportunity to get to know Jeff and Kate more, don't you think?

- And what do you suggest we do? – Sara crossed her arms, thinking about what Barry was saying. He did have a point.

- We can go to the movies! Like normal people do! – Barry said excitedly.

It took a while to convince everyone but they ended up agreeing. Barry was right, they barely hang out, it was always a team up when the world was ending and if they learned something from Oliver dying and coming back, was that life was precious and they should enjoy it more with friends before it was too late. All of them had civilian clothes on, so they wouldn't draw too much attention. After the events of Crisis, they all were pretty known in this new Earth, so it would be a disaster if they tried to do anything fun as heroes. To everyone else, they were just a bunch of regular friends going to watch a good movie.

They sat at the back of the theater: Kara, Oliver, Sara and Barry on the last row, Clark, Jeff, Kate and J'onn in the row in front of them. The room wasn't crowded, so they could enjoy the few seats they had free, Barry practically lay on 3 chairs, Kate and Sara had their legs on the chairs next to them. Clark looked at them both, shaking his head and knowing someone would come to get their attention soon. Jeff and J'onn were talking about Mars and about Jeff being a teacher and having two daughters that also had powers like him. Oliver looked at the screen but wasn't actually paying attention to the movie. Kara wasn't also paying attention to the movie, but it was because she was tuned in her super hearing, checking if everything was ok with the rest of the city, until she heard something and looked alarmed at everyone else.

- Someone's in trouble. I'll be right back.

- Do you need help? – J'onn asked, looking worried at her.

- Its ok is just a guy trying to rob a store.

Kara looked at both her sides and got up, as if she was going to the bathroom. She actually went there to change and flew away to help the store.

- Hey you! Stop right now! – She said as she stopped right behind the guy. He turned around and pointed his gun at her and she just smiled at him. – You do know this is us…

She was going to finish the sentence when the guy shot her. She just exhaled, and used her super speed to take the gun out of the guy's hand, smashing it into pieces. She just gave him a small punch and it was enough to knock him down. The owner approached her, grateful, offering her all the candy she wanted.

- Oh, you don't need to…

- Please, I insist. You save me and my store. – The guy kept repeating it and Kara smiled at him, accepting some cotton candy and some chocolate.

A few moments later, Kara got inside the movie theater, returning to her row, but ending up seating next to Oliver, since there was a guy sat where she was before. She gave everyone a few candies and ate her cotton candy, feeling like a kid.

- Do you want some? – Kara offered Oliver in a whisper

- I'll have some… - He whispered back and as soon as she gave him a piece of the candy, he approached his lips from hers and gave her a kiss.

- Ollie, everyone will see… - She whispered in the middle of the kiss.

- No, they won't. Is dark, they are entertained.

Kara laughed in a whisper and kissed him back until she heard something else and jumped from her seat. Barry and Jeff looked at her and she smiled awkwardly.

- I just … I think I forgot the oven on… - She said as she stared at the guy next to them, but giving the rest of them a knowing look.

- Barry, your turn to check it! – Oliver said in a rush, smiling at him.

- Why? – Barry looked incredulously at him. Kara and Oliver kept staring back at him and Barry gave up, getting up from his seat – Ok… You guys would come back next week anyways – He said, getting up and walking down the stairs, out of the room.

Everyone brought their attention back to the movie, really enjoying it, while Kara and Oliver kept caressing each other's hands in the darkness and sharing a kiss or two sometimes.

- It has been fun… The secrecy and all, but I can't wait until everyone knows about us – Kara said in a whisper and Oliver smiled back to her.

- Me too… Let's just have today for ourselves. Tomorrow we let them annoy us with jokes and all of that.

Kara laughed in a whisper again and stared back at the screen. It didn't take long for Barry to come back and Oliver and Kara let go of each other's hands in a fast move. Barry stared at Kara.

- Your oven wasn't on…

- Thanks… for checking it. – Kara said as Barry sat back on his seat.

An hour went by and the movie was really exciting, at least for half of them. Kara and Oliver kept lost in their world but disguising it the best they could. It was the climax of the scene when a glitch appeared on screen, freezing the scene, making the people inside the movie theater complain in frustration.

- Someone go there in the cabin, to see what's going on… I'm not getting up again – Barry said already looking at everyone that immediately stared at him.

- Ok, I'll go… - Clark got up and rushed up to the movie theater cabin to see what was going on.

Oliver and Kara high five each other discretely, laughing. A noise was heard and everyone stared at the cabin. Clark's head appeared on the door as he told everyone to chill because it was all just fine. More noise was heard and all the heroes got up, staring at the cabin, worried. Clark emerged from it, going back to his seat and smiled awkwardly at everyone.

- Two guys started to have a huge couple's fight up there. They knocked down a machine there and it almost ruined the entire movie, but I helped them calm down and just talk to each other. – He pointed at the screen – Look, is back.

- Things are always this crazy around here that you guys can't even catch a movie in peace? – Jefferson asked as he stared confused at everyone.

- You should see Gotham… So much worse. – Kate said as they all stared back at the screen to see the end of the movie.

Kara and Oliver missed the end of the movie completely as they kept enjoying the darkness to kiss and smile to each other. As soon as the credits started to roll, they broke the kiss and pretended to pay attention to the screen.

Everyone started leaving the room as the lights went up. Sara and Barry walked behind everyone else as they left the room. Barry approached Sara, making sure no one was watching them.

- Its cute Kara and Oliver think we didn't notice them…

- I know, right? – Sara laughed and stared back at Barry. – I'm just glad no one saw what we were doing in the end of the movie… - She smiled at Barry and they both rushed to reach the others.

Spoiler Alert:Prompt by SuperarrowRoLoLover: It's kind of like mid season one arrow so he's already established and ppl know him but he's still the hood. I was thinking kara is kind of like s1 laurel with the hood, just a reporter instead of a lawyer. Also there's none of the sister gambit cheating drama that laurel had, like kara was oliver's lifelong friend they never dated. Then she and oliver go on a first date and she finds out shortly after. You can clean it up but that was my baseline idea.
