73. Nobody wants to be lonely

- OLIVER I DON'T WANT TO MARRY YOU!

That yell coming from Felicity could be heard from blocks away, he was sure of it. He just wanted to bury his face into the ground as he felt all eyes on them.

Jitters were crowded that night, it was Barry and Iris rehearsal dinner, full of people they knew and loved and as soon as Felicity yelled those words, the entire place fell into an awkward silence.

- I told you last week, I won't change my mind… I don't want to get married at all, never, to anyone…

- Ok, I got it. – Oliver said in a deep low voice, still feeling all the embarrassment of causing a scene on his best friend special night. He could only hope Barry would forgive them for that.

Felicity had tears in her eyes. She took a deep breath and wiped away as she turned to Iris and Barry, who just came downstairs being followed by Kara.

- I'm sorry guys, I… - She turned to look at Oliver – I don't think we should stay together anymore… I… It's over. Please, don't come after me…

Felicity stormed out and everyone turned to look at Oliver, still froze in shock, not knowing what to say.

Barry ran towards Oliver as Kara kept staring at the scene from the middle of the stairs. She was just talking to Barry about how she didn't have her plus one because he went to the future and came back married to someone else, and she still wasn't sure if she could find love like Barry and Oliver did, because she wasn't like them. She wasn't human and she was alone. Now she watched Barry trying to check on Oliver and see if he was ok and thought how life could be so unpredictable, and how everything could fall apart in just one second. She knew because she has been there.

- I'm ok – Oliver told Barry – I'm sorry about that… I was trying to talk to her and she suddenly freaked out…

- Its ok man…I'm sorry for that, she looked like she was serious…

- Yes, it's damn serious. It's over

- I'm sorry…

- It's ok… I just need some air – Oliver said as he patted his back and left.

Kara went to the bar, to get a glass of champagne. It didn't affect her at all but she felt like she needed it. Seeing Oliver in that situation just reminded her that anything can happen so fast, that if you blink, you miss it and the last thing you know, you feel dizzy with no idea of what just happened. She had been there too many times.

She didn't know Oliver that much, they talked when she came to Earth 1 to help them with the Dominators and that was the last time they interacted. She wished she could give him a hug, and remembered he really hated hugs. She looked around and an idea crossed her mind.

"That will work" she thought to herself.

Oliver sat on a bench across the street and lowered his head, covering his face as he tried to keep calm and think about what just happened. He knew the moment he proposed to Felicity a week ago and she said a loud no that it was over for them. He just needed to be sure, because he was getting a lot of unfair blame recently and he didn't want to have one more on his list of things to feel guilt about.

- Hey…

Oliver heard Kara's voice and lifted his head, only to see her standing in front of him with a glass of champagne on her hands. She gave him a tiny smile and offered him the drink.

- I didn't know what to do to help, so I brought you this.

- Thank you Kara, you didn't need to. – Oliver smiled back at her as he grabbed the glass and took a huge sip of it.

He closed his eyes and opened them again, taking a deep breath as Kara sat next to him.

- I know there's no use asking you if you're ok… I've hard it all…

- I think the whole block heard it. – Oliver scratched his head

- Do you want to talk about it?

- Maybe in a few moments…I'm still processing it all.

- Things will get better soon… I guess… - She added as she stared down her feet. – They have to. – She looked back at him, adjusting her glasses

Oliver noticed a small shift in her voice and got curious about it. Usually Kara was uplifting and optimist but now, he could tell something was off. She was trying hard not to show it, he could tell, but something was definitely off.

- Are you ok? You don't sound like it.

- Its ok, you have enough on your plate right now…

- I don't mind. Is nice to take my mind away from my problems for a while.

- Is just that… All of that reminded me how life changes so fast, how one simple fact can make everything fall apart and how many people are going through similar experiences and we have no idea of it.

- I'm sensing you're talking from experience…

- Yes.

She stopped to think for a second, remembering everything she had told Barry an hour earlier.

- Barry asked me what happened to my plus one, and I told him I was plus 0 these days and told him why… The end of the world…

- That happens a lot, no matter the universe apparently – Oliver commented it

- Time travel…

- Oh, this is not good – Oliver stared at Kara, knowing by her voice and facial expression things were about to get way worse.

- He came back from the future, where I sent him by accident to save his life, married to someone else…

- Oh…

Oliver froze, not knowing what to say. It was written all over Kara's face how hurt she was still.

- He tried to convince me that I should not give up on love, and how he talked to you about the same thing when he told you to not give up on proposing, and I told him it was different for me, because I am alone… Is funny because I am surrounded by people all the time, I see everyone happy and in love… And I keep repeating to myself that my life should be about being Supergirl, doing good, saving the world… But is not that easy.

- It never is… - Oliver said, understanding exactly what she was talking about – I'm sorry that happened to you

- I'm sorry Felicity said no…

- Look at us, being alone and miserable together…who could tell? – Oliver teased, noticing he was able to make Kara laugh.

- Listen, when I told Alex for us to come here, it was because she and I needed this, a moment away from all the mess happening in our Earth, to turn a bad thing into a good memory. – Kara got up and crossed her arms as she looked at Oliver - so that's what we'll do right now my friend. – She reached for his hand, smiling at him and Oliver laughed, nodding with his head.

Once he held her hand and got up, he felt a spark of electricity he couldn't explain. Kara's excitement about things was really contagious, he could tell. Kara turned around and tried to focus her glance on two people going for it against the wall of Jitters. She just laughed.

- See? Alex is turning her sadness into a good memory already…

- And with… Sara. – Oliver looked surprised – Ok, didn't see that coming… Sara is usually fast, but this might be a new record.

They laughed as they went for a walk, not feeling like coming back inside the party yet. Not far from where they were, there was a cotton candy stand and Kara brightened up as a small kid staring at her favorite candy.

- I already love this city. – Kara went straight to it, getting a blue one for herself.

Oliver kept staring at her, finding it all funny and adorable. She closed her eyes letting a loud hmmm out and offered him a bit of it.

- Believe me, sometimes sugar is the answer, it just makes everything better.

Oliver grabbed a bite of it, nodding with his head in agreement.

- I avoid eating sugar, but this is really good…

- Told ya! – Kara smiled satisfied, making Oliver laugh.

She felt like a huge improvement from the last time they hang out, considering he spent half the time being harsh and behaving like a jerk, to apologizing in the party where they celebrated their victory and being actually a nice guy. She didn't know Oliver could laugh and smile that much as he was doing it since the moment they started to chat.

When Oliver left Jitters, he was sure it would take a long time for him to be excited by things again but hanging out with Kara was doing it for him. He had no idea she was this fun and cool to be with. He was glad he was given the opportunity of get to know her better like they were doing it. It was easy to talk to her, he found himself laughing more, joking around and teasing more than he was used to. It was like the fun old Oliver, pre-island, was back. He felt lighter, as if the weight of the world wasn't only on his shoulders anymore.

- I know I've said it before but I'm really sorry about the way I acted with you last time you were here.

- Its ok Oliver, you had your reasons to not fully trust me, I understand. We literally only have seen each other a few moments, I understand it was unnerving...

- I told you before, I don't get unnerved… - He teased. – It was just too much information… I keep waiting for the next surprise life will throw at me since I met Barry. I had no idea aliens existed until I met you, so that was a shock for me... Not as much as it was for Diggle, I'm sure, but still…

- I understand – Kara laughed with Oliver, knowing Diggle freaked out inside and out, when he saw her using her heat vision and flying to show them what made her so super. - You should visit my Earth sometimes… It would be interesting. Either that or you would just run for the hills…you think you've seen crazy? You've seen nothing – Kara joked, laughing with him.

- I think we made some progress… It's nice to get to know the girl under the steel.

- Well, is really surprising and nice to know the archer under the hood…

Oliver stared at Kara in a funny way that made her instantly blush and laugh.

- No, not like actually under the hood, I mean… You know…

- I know…

It was indeed easy to talk to Kara, and have a good time with her, he thought, for the first time in his life feeling as lighter as a feather.

- I have to admit something, though. – Oliver said as they kept walking slowly. – The real reason I pushed you away when we met… Well, I admit I was smitten… I just didn't want to admit it. I just had met you, it was weird.

Kara stopped abruptly, almost choking on the last piece of her cotton candy. She stopped and stared at him, not able to hide the smile forming on her lips.

- Oh, really? – She asked – Well… I confess I felt intimidated… I just wanted everyone to like me, especially you. I've always wanted to be part of something big, and what you guys built here... it is big.

- What do you mean by "especially you"? Why? – Oliver suddenly felt a huge interest on this piece of information.

- Because you're Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow. Barry told me about you when he visited my Earth. He told me stories of your team fighting to protect the world, how you guys got together to help each other from time to time. Then, he introduced us and told me you trained him. It's impressive. I had a picture in my head and when I got to meet you, it was true. You were everything Barry told me… you were a jerk at first, but still a true leader. – She added laughing. – It was really cool to see that in person.

Oliver smiled hearing those words from Kara as they approached a beautiful park downtown. They went inside and walked in silence until they saw a huge lake in the middle of the park, with a beautiful tree on the lakeside. Oliver couldn't believe Kara felt intimidated. Kara couldn't believe Oliver was smitten by her when they met. That information made her head spin. She needed to know more, even if she felt too nervous to ask.

- Really? Smitten? Why? I'm just curious…

Oliver felt a weird rush inside, going through his veins, making his heart beat fast. He wasn't sure what to say at first, but started to think about it.

- Barry told us you are really powerful. He mentioned about your powers and what you did in your Earth. All I could think about was that there was no way someone with that amount of power wouldn't take advantage of things, because I never met anyone that wouldn't. And then I saw you there, shy but excited at the same time, ready to help with information, to help a bunch of people you didn't know in a world that wasn't yours. I saw you trying to help when everyone got mad at Barry and how bad you felt when Dominators controlled your mind. I saw you there, ready for action, no matter what… - He knew he couldn't stop himself now; he was letting it all out. She asked, right? He felt he could never lie or hide from her, and not because of her superpowers. She just had that energy around her. – You looked cute even with rays of fire coming out of your eyes; I could tell you were nervous…

- Wow… - She said in awe. She had no idea Oliver had seen her like that when she last visited. It was a nice surprised.

They walked to the tree and Kara kept staring around, admiring the beautiful view of the lake, the park, a few ducks in the water. Her eyes caught Oliver's staring at her and she blushed again.

- This place is beautiful. – She said

- Yes, it is – He said, still staring at her as she was distracted admiring the view

It was indeed beautiful, especially now, he thought knowing he wasn't thinking about the park, or the sky. He noticed the blue of her dress matched her eyes, the way the wind made her beautiful blonde curls flick. He shook his head, trying his best not to go there right now, it wasn't a good moment. He stared back at her, thinking it was really hard not to go there.

- What's on your mind right now? – He asked, earning a curious look from her as she slowly approached him.

- I was thinking about a favor that Barry asked me, for tomorrow…

- Which is…?

- He asked me to sing tomorrow… I said yes, but I'm actually really nervous…

- Oh… I bet you will nail it. Don't ask me how I know this…but maybe someone told me about a shared situation involving being stuck on a musical…

- Of course he told you – Kara said, scratching her head.

- I would pay to see Barry tap dancing – He smiled

"Or you singing", he thought.

- I'm sure everything will be ok. – Oliver said as he grabbed a few small rocks from the ground and started to throw them at the lake. Kara followed him and they started this silent competition to see who could get further.

Kara laughed at Oliver's frustration because he was loosing to her and she wasn't even using her powers. He looked teasingly suspicious at her and she lifted her hands up, affirming she was playing fair.

- I'm just nervous because I don't know everyone that well… On my Earth we have karaoke nights and we have so much fun… But here… Is so different – She threw one more rock until she was out of them. She knew why she was nervous; she just could never admit it.

- Well, you can practice with me – Oliver finally said it, making Kara freeze and stare at him with wide eyes.

- Practice? Here… with you?

- Yes. I really want to hear you sing. You know me, so there's no reason to be nervous…

Kara kept staring at the smile he gave her, knowing there's no way she could escape the situation.

- Why not? – She smiled, feeling her heart jumping inside her chest.

She took a few steps closer to the lake as she stared at the Moon. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, feeling the song come internally to her heart.

- "There you are, in a darkened room, and you're all alone, looking out the window. Your heart is cold and lost the will to love, like a broken arrow… nobody wants to be lonely,
nobody wants to cry. My body's longing to hold you, so bad it hurts inside
Time is precious and it's slipping away and I've been waiting for you all of my life"

As she sang, she moved graciously slow, opening her eyes to look at the Moon, avoiding staring at Oliver at all costs cause she couldn't stop blushing, something he noticed and also found adorable. Oliver was mesmerized by her voice. It was like listening to an angel singing. He couldn't help but pay attention to the lyrics, feeling a chill down his spine. Her high notes, so perfectly executed, reached inside of his soul, he felt like he could spend the rest of his life listening to her sing.

As she finished, he stared back at him, her heart jumping hard inside her chest.

- Wow… This was… - Oliver was lost of words out of sudden. He couldn't take his eyes from her and he was sure now he was beyond smitten. Listening to her was the last straw, and he knew he was screwed. – Beautiful…

- Thank you – She said in a shy voice

- See, you're ready to face a bunch of strangers. – He teased her, knowing she was still a bit nervous just by the way she looked at him.

- Yes, I am – She laughed.

- And you have a beautiful voice. – He completed it – I'm sure everyone will love it as much as I did.

He listened to her laugh and thought how screwed he was.

He wasn't just smitten. He was deeply attracted to her and he had no idea what to do with this new information.

- This song you sang… Its lyrics hits close to home…

- Yes… I love it. – She said as she rested her back on the tree and watched Oliver slowly walks closer, stopping right in front of her. – It really speaks to me, you know? Being an alien in a strange planet, surrounded by people but still feeling lonely… A few months ago I was in a really dark place, ever since… I had to send my ex into space so he wouldn't die. I felt guilt, I felt like I should focus on Supergirl because Kara sucked… She was fragile, broken hearted, hurt… Supergirl was nothing like that… It took me a while to recover; Rao knows I'm still in that journey but… I had to learn how to move on with a broken heart, knowing it would heal someday.

Oliver heard Kara talking, surprised to know more about what made her so sad earlier. He had no idea she had to send someone she loved away, make this huge sacrifice to save a life. It must not have been easy to do that and keep going on with life. The way she kept thinking about others, being a cool friend supporting them when they needed the most, even if she felt broken inside, it was admirable. And funny enough, he could relate to the feeling of needing to focus on the work as Green Arrow and press pause on his romantic life because it was always going south. They started to walk slowly around the park again.

- I thought I could have it all until I couldn't. That was what really broke me. It was good, you know? Not having to pretend, to hide who I was or lie. To have someone knowing exactly what it is like to live this crazy super hero life.

- I know the feeling. – He said – It's totally understandable. I felt the same way when I came back from the island and started this journey… The island changed me, made me realize what a idiot I was before… And when I started to protect my city, all I wanted was to be able to find someone that understood me. I had it, but it never lasted because I was deep into darkness… Felicity helped me get out of it, I could be myself with her… until I couldn't.

- Why? – Kara felt curiosity taking over her – I've heard her telling you how she didn't change her mind about the proposal but…I feel there's more to it.

- You're right. – They left the park and kept walking around the city, not even noticing where they were going, it didn't matter, Oliver thought. – Hey,,,do you want to go grab a drink? I know we just had champagne from the party…

- I would love to… But I think everywhere else is closed by now – Kara said as she looked around, having no idea where they could go.

- Well, I'm staying at Central City Plaza Hotel, I'm sure their bar is open – He laughed, feeling a bit nervous for the first time in years.

- Weren't you staying at Cisco's place?

- He had her girlfriend over, I didn't feel like getting in their way – He laughed – So I decided to book a room for 2 or 3 nights.

- Oh, it makes sense – Kara laughed with him – Well, let's go, then, I need a drink too even if doesn't affect me.

Kara reached for Oliver's arm automatically, and Oliver looked surprised at her as they kept talking on their way to his hotel. He felt a tingle down his stomach as he felt Kara's grip on his arms, it was a nice feeling. He wasn't exactly sure what to do with his recent emotions that decided to manifest inside his hear and mind and take him by surprise, so he just went with the flow anyways.

As they reached his hotel, they went to the bar and it was indeed open. Kara looked around, noticing how beautiful and luxurious that place was. It was a lounge and cocktail bar with a curious mix of vintage vibe with modern décor. A few dark red chesterfield sofas were spread around the place and a few black love seats were on some more private areas. Kara noticed she was still holding Oliver's arm, thinking about how strong he was and shook her head, trying to focus, letting his arm go. They ordered their drinks and Kara saw a few small round tables with black stools near the stage where a jazz band performed and walked towards one table, sitting down as Oliver sat across her.

- I won't get into details because is a long story, we would be here for the next week or two. – Oliver said, thinking about how he really didn't feel like diving into his problems with Felicity again, not when he was having a great time getting to know Kara more. He felt relaxed and comfortable for the first time after a long time of stress and feeling pure chaos in his life. It was a nice change for once – We just had a lot of issues and now I see it would never work. I loved her and thought she loved me the same way but at the end of the day, she still blamed me for a lot of things we had no control over and indeed, when I proposed, she told me she didn't want to get married, never, at all. The saddest part is that today I wasn't even trying to get her back as she thought. I knew it was over. It hurts, yes, we had a long history together, but I accepted it was the end. I just tried to talk to her, so we could end things in good terms. She didn't even listen.

- Oh… that sucks, I'm sorry. – Kara's hand seemed to have a life of its own, as she reached for Oliver shoulder, caressing it in automatic mode. She moved her hand back to the table quickly, reaching for her drink and taking a sip of it. – It's never easy to hear stuff we don't want to hear from people we love. I still think about talking to him, ready to know why he was acting so weird and distant, just to see a beautiful girl walk to him and witness their passionate kiss as he told me she was his wife… from Saturn. He had the entire day to tell me that, he left me thinking he was back and we would be together, that things would go back to the way it was before… but no… He chose to let me see them kiss before he even told me what was going on.

Oliver could see that was difficult to say, by the way Kara stared at the table and held her drinking straw. He moved a bit closer to her and their eyes met.

- It's his loss – Oliver said – He's an idiot for doing that to you.

- I agree – Kara smiled, feeling relief after finally admitting out loud what bothered her the most. – Thanks for listening… It took me a long time to be able to admit that.

- I'm the one that have to thank you for offering me that drink when I clearly needed it. – He smiled – I'm glad we got to bond over our bad luck in love – he teased, making her laugh. God, he was starting to love hearing the sound of her laugh.

What was happening to him, he wondered.

Kara stopped laughing slowly.

- I had an amazing night – She said, lowering her gaze quickly to his lips, back to his eyes.

She blushed, remembering she confessed to feel intimidated by him when they met, but what she didn't tell him was that she was also impressed because he had amazing skills not just as a super hero, but also as a leader.

His looks also helped, she thought as they stood in silence, and she felt like she could read her soul the way he stared at her.

- Me too. – He whispered with their faces just inches apart.

Kara put one of her hands on his shoulder, their noses barely touching.

- What are we doing?

- You tell me – Oliver said still serious, holding back as much as he could.

Kara's hand went to his chest as she looked down, their foreheads touching. Was Oliver Queen flirting, showing interest on her or was he just feeling vulnerable and misunderstanding his own feelings? And what was that feeling burning inside of her like fire? At the same time she wanted to be cautious. She was feeling deeply attracted to him, but she worried about things she wish she could ignore. Felicity just made a scene, yelling she didn't want to marry him. She could tell he was deeply hurt, she could also hear his heart beating fast since they went to see the lake and more after she sang to him. She also remembered she never told her sister she was going for a walk and she was probably worried about her now, they've been away for 3 hours now.

- I think… - She took a deep breath trying to finish the sentence - is really late – She said reluctantly - and Alex must be freaking out I'm gone… - She wasn't sure of her own actions anymore, so she had to make the smart decision. She couldn't risk it, not now when she was still broken inside too. – We should go back to the party…

Kara got up and turned around to leave when Oliver got up and reached for her hand, holding it gently. Kara turned back to look at him and Oliver got up, still holding her hand.

- Or… you could stay.

Oliver was surprised at his own words, cause at first he wasn't sure if he should do it, but after everything that happened, he couldn't leave any rom for doubts. He told her he was smitten the first time he saw her, he couldn't deny how much he was attracted to her anymore, he was tired of fighting his feelings. He was sure of what he wanted; he just needed to now what she wanted.

- I know your sister must be worried – He said as he reached for his pocket. He gave her a small card that had the number 32 on it – This is a spare key of my room. You decide what to do with it – He smiled.

Kara's heart beat so fast she was sure Oliver would be able to hear it, even if he didn't have her super hearing... She couldn't think straight, she felt her cheeks burning and a billion different things inside. She really enjoyed spending the rest of the night having fun and getting to know Oliver more. They had more in common than she ever thought. She felt like he could really understand her. Their almost kiss messed with her head and now she was curious. He just gave her his hotel room key, letting her decide what to do next.

- I can't get back to Jitters now; I don't want them worried about me on their special night…

- It's ok – She murmured

- Just… If anyone asks, tell them I'm ok. Because I am. For the first time in many years I'm sure of what I feel. My invitation still stands. – He gave her a brief kiss on her cheek and whispered to her ear - You know where to find me, if you want to.

Kara saw Oliver slowly turn around and leave the hotel bar. She suddenly felt thirsty.

She kept staring at the card in her hands, thinking about everything they shared, what she told Barry earlier and what he told her about how everyone deserves to have love in their lives and just because she was an alien from another planet and literally another Earth, she didn't have to be alone.

She walked back to Jitters, thinking about all of that, and wondering what would she tell her sister, because she was sure Alex would freak out about it.

As soon as she got inside, she started to look for Alex. Some people left but Barry, Iris, Mick, Cisco, Wally, Joe and Caitlin were still there.

- Guys, has anyone seen my sister?

- She left hours ago with Sara – Mick said as we went to grab more food – I bet they're busy right now…

- Ooo…k – Kara said, thinking that was too much information.

She couldn't believe Alex. She was sure her sister would freak out about Kara going out and about on another Earth, even if she was Supergirl, and she was the one who went out with someone without even telling her.

- At least Sara is cool – She said as she saw Barry coming towards her, full with worry.

- I saw you and Oliver talking outside… where is he? I'm worried about him…

- He asked me to tell you he is ok – She decided to leave the rest out, feeling her cheeks burn – He is staying at a hotel, he wanted to clear his head after what happened. We talked for a while… Don't worry; Oliver is going to be ok.

Barry smiled in relief.

- I'm glad to know… And you? Are you ok? Cause you look distracted… and a bit anxious…

- How do you know I'm anxious? Nah… is no big deal. – Kara laughed nervously.

- I recognize the look when I look in the mirror every time I have a date with Iris. Yes, after all this time… So tell me, what happened?

Kara took a deep breath, trying to decide how much she should tell Barry or if she should tell him anything at all. She walked to a table in a corner and Barry sat across her. Kara could tell Barry was dying to know anything, even not being sure what he wanted to know.

- What would you do if you weren't sure about something but had the chance to find out, but it could risk a lot of things, mainly your heart?

- This is a very specific and vague question at the same time, I'm confused. This has to do with Oliver being hurt about what happened and being into you at the same time?

- What? How… - Kara stared in shock at Barry. How on Earth did he know that?

- It's a bit obvious and he got way too happy knowing you would come to my wedding. Oliver never looks that happy. He usually looks like he is about to kick someone's ass. He is also terrible at hiding those things.

- Really?

- Really. – Barry looked at her as if she was asking him if 2+2=4. – Did anything happen? Just spare me the details…

- No… - Kara laughed nervously – nothing happened… yet.

- I won't even ask. Just please think about what are you still doing here and if whatever it is, is what you want. Because I told you before and I was serious about it: you can have love and be a hero. It is possible. Just think about that…

Barry smiled as he hugged Kara before saying goodbye to a few guests. Kara took the key card and stared at it.

Meanwhile, back at the hotel, Oliver reached his room, went inside and left his shoes next to the door. He didn't even bother to turn on the lights; his mind could only go back to a few minutes ago when Kara stood so close to him, he could feel her sweet scent and had to do everything in his power to not kiss her right there. He knew she was upset about the idiot she used to date, he was sure she knew he was hurt deep down about everything that happened with Felicity, he had a lot of bad experiences to know he needed to let her decide what to do. He didn't want her thinking he was acting out of being hurt cause for once in his life, he was damn sure about what he wanted.

He wanted her.

And he wanted her to want him, being her choice and hers only.

He took of his suit, let his tie loose on his neck and started to open a few buttons of his white shirt as he sat down on the bed. He just rested his back on the mattress, staring at the ceiling and kept thinking about the most wonderful night he had in years. He felt even more of an idiot for how he treated Kara when they met, but he was glad she forgave him and was open to get to know him, allowing him to get to know more about her in return. He hasn't felt this way for someone in a long time. Yes he recently broke up with Felicity, he knew they had issues since she got shot 2 years ago, but even so, he did the best to save their relationship and knew it wasn't the same thing. There was something about Kara that made him want to know more and spend more time with her. It wasn't the fact she was a super powerful alien, he admired her for being the hero she was, sure but he cared more about the sweet person she was, always worried about everyone, trying to see the best of bad situations, always hopeful and giving hope to others.

He remembered her powerful angelical voice singing that specific song and couldn't stop thinking about it.

- "Your heart is cold and lost the will to love…like a broken arrow" – He laughed by himself at the irony – I'm so screwed – He murmured and sat properly at the bed as he finished unbuttoning his shirt.

He was lost in his own thoughts, wondering what would Kara do, when he heard a knock on the door. A few seconds later, the door opened and he saw Kara standing at the door, with the key on her hands. She closed the door behind her as soon as she stepped inside the room as Oliver slowly got up, still processing the fact that she was there in front of him, and walked towards her.

- I'm tired of being alone – She whispered as her eyes caught his open shirt as he came closer, trapping her between his embrace and the door.

He didn't say another word cause was incapable of holding back a single second more, he wanted to do it the moment she offered him a drink outside Jitters. His lips crushed hers in a deep slow kiss as he did his best to savor every second of it with her. He felt Kara responding to the kiss, pulling him closer by his tie. One of his hands went for her waist, to held her closer to him while his other hand caressed her neck. He guided them around the room as they kissed and he felt Kara reaching for his shirt and tie, taking them off.

- Let's not be alone together – Oliver finally whispered to her ear in the most loving and alluring way possible that made Kara weak in the knees.

She was very aware Oliver knew what he was doing to her, and she couldn't help but love it.

- Yes. – She whispered back as they kept kissing until they fell in bed together, the rest of their clothes joining his shirt on the ground.

She felt everything at once, anxiety, she felt nervous, excited, happy, fulfilled, she felt passion and desire and the desperate need of hold him, let all the pain and hurt she felt before go and feel loved above all things. She felt Oliver's heart jumping inside her chest as her hands caressed his back and the hair on his neck..

- I want you – he whispered to her ear as he kissed down her neck, pressing his body against hers and making sure she knew exactly how she made him feel, which earned him a deep passionate kiss in return.

Oliver let go of the kiss and stared deeply into Kara's eyes while one of his hands caressed her face. She stared back at him, with a side smile as her fingers touched the scars he had on his chest. One day she would ask him about them, she thought as she felt him respond to her touch.

- Then take me

Oliver kissed her back full of want and they spent the rest of the night learning everything about each other that was left to learn, without a single extra care in the world.

All that mattered was that they were finally together
