76. You and Me
Oliver woke up in the middle of the night, with the sound of a loud thunder. He got up and walked to the window to see the rain outside. He closed the windows and walked back to his bed.
He felt anxious.
For the first time in his life there wasn't any danger about to happen, any sacrifice he would have to make, any big threats to deal with or lunatics to put in jail.
The next day was going to be just his wedding day, to the most beautiful woman in the entire multiverse.
He lay back down; staring at the ceiling as his mind went far away, thinking about everything that happened to him that made him feel the luckiest man alive.
He was happy.
And it was all thanks to her.
Two years ago, his friend Barry Allen came to his city to ask for his help because aliens were invading the planet and he couldn't possibly deal with that by himself. Oliver had heard a lot of crazy things, even before he met Barry. He learned magic was real when he was in Lin Yu and met John Constantine for the first time. He knew the world had mysteries no one could possibly try to begin to understand. But aliens, was a different story. He was unsure what to expect when Barry told him he knew an alien that could help them.
And then, he met her: Kara Danvers, also known on her Earth as Supergirl.
He remembered listening to that and feeling completely off balance inside. First because she wasn't what he expected at all, it was easy to forget she was an alien when he stood by her side and that alone left him full on alert.
After everything he had been through, it was a natural response for the unknown, he knew that, but also, he was smitten. He would never admit it back then, but he knew for sure now. He also knew it was probably why he benched her and made her really angry at him. He needed to focus and to do his best to keep his friends and the world safe. He learned it was the wrong move later, because she was obviously their best chance against the Dominators, the alien race they fought against.
Her super powers were really impressive, for sure, but what made him feel curious about her was the fact that she was always sweet and kind, and still did her best to help him no matter what, even if she was pissed at him. She saved his life like they were best friends for decades and that surprised Oliver more than anything. He managed to piss a lot of people his entire life, and that was the first time that someone wasn't trying to hit him our call him names.
He was glad he was wrong and did something he is usually not used to: apologize. They became friends after that and thanks to Cisco; she had an easier way to come and visit, talk to them: a device that opened breaches to any Earth in the multiverse. He thought about the day Cisco contacted him because Kara wanted to talk to him and ask for his help.
FLASHBACK
- There you go. Your own extrapolator – Cisco said as he handed the device to Oliver and smiled – Now I can stop being your Hedwig.
Oliver gave Cisco his "really? Not funny! Look and Cisco stopped smiling and nodded with his head.
- Listen, if you need to go to Kara's Earth, I can make your phone work there too, in case you need.
- Is this possible? – Oliver asked, not quite sure.
- How do you think I talk to my girlfriend who happens to live in Earth 19?
- Oh…k
It didn't take long for Cisco to finish it and Oliver thanked him for that. He opened the breach and went to Earth 38.
Oliver learned that Kara had some trouble and ended up without her powers and her sister insisted she needed more training in fighting. They were at the DEO with a guy named Winn, another named James and the guy that was from Mars – He could see Diggle's reaction if he was there with him.
- I remembered Barry said you trained him… And you really did a good job, even if you shot him with arrows, I have some opinions about that, by the way – Kara laughed nervously – But… I think you're the best person to help me with that… I mean, you do have a lot of experience in training people with super powers. And if I need to improve my fighting "as a human", you're the best human I know to do that… So – She paused, still nervous about asking Oliver that – What do you say?
- Kara, I'm really flattered – Oliver said, being completely honest and feeling really touched by her words.
For so long he had felt like a monster in the past, like someone who didn't deserve even to be happy because of the awful things he had done to survive and even after the island. He was used to people fearing him, not admiring him like Barry did or now Kara.
- You came to a strange Earth, just knowing one person, and you helped protect a world that wasn't even yours… I will always say yes to help you, no matter what. – He completed it.
Oliver knew he would; because he had a feeling there was no way he would ever be able to say no to Kara. She had this particular look on her face that would convince even the most stubborn person in the world to do whatever she asked. And deep down he didn't mind spending more time with her, even if it was to help her training or kicking someone's ass. He noticed the smile she gave him after hearing his words and he couldn't help but smile back.
James and Winn looked from Kara to Oliver and then to each other and Kara finally seemed to remember they weren't alone in the room.
- Oh, I'm sorry… These are my friends James and Winn. And you remember my sister Alex – Kara smiled as she saw Alex coming in.
- Of course I remember, the last time we teamed up she was totally a badass – Oliver said as he shook her hand.
- See? I knew I liked him for a reason… - Alex teased, making Kara laugh.
- Ok, so… You're from the same Earth as Barry? – Winn asked, feeling a mix of excitement for meeting someone from another universe and jealousy, he wouldn't lie to himself.
- Yes. But I live in a different city.
- And how again you can help Kara? – James crossed his arms – I don't think training a speedster is the same as training an alien, I'm sorry.
Oliver couldn't help but notice the hostile tone in James voice. He forced a smile.
- That's the thing James; I need to train as a human… The same way Alex helped me before, with kryptonite. – Kara said
- It's ok. – Oliver said – I live in a different Earth, you guys know nothing about me so is completely normal to ask questions. I would do the same if anyone came to train someone from my team or a friend.
James was clearly not expecting that, as Oliver could see. Oliver took a step forward and crossed his arms.
- I went with my father on a boat trip, the ship wrecked and I spent 5 years in an island called Lian Yu. Is mandarin for purgatory. I had to do things I'm not proud of to survive. I learned how to fight on that island with a guy that 5 years ago killed my mother with a sword, right in front of me. 2 years ago I joined the League of Assassins to save my city, and learned a lot from a man that had at least 500 years, so yes, I can help Kara train like a human.
Kara and Alex just stared at Oliver in shock while James had no idea what to say after that. Winn scratched his head, smiling awkwardly.
- Well… That's… Wow. – Winn was literally lost of words.
- I'm sorry that happened to you – Alex said.
- As someone told me before, hardships make us stronger – He gave Kara a tiny almost imperceptible smile – And is true.
- Still… No one should go through so much pain in life… - Kara said. – And I'm sorry about James… He can be really overprotective of his friends sometimes…
- It is ok, I would do the same. – Oliver nodded at James.
Oliver was sure there was something way more than just being overprotective about him, but he wouldn't waste time thinking about it.
Alex prepared the room so Kara could be powerless enough so Oliver could spare with her in a fair fight. She left the room and Kara and Oliver started training. He taught her some of the League techniques he learned from Sara, Malcolm and Ra's in the past, which made Kara a bit scared.
- Do I need to be this violent?
- Not actually. I mean, if you lose your powers again and you are at risk of being killed, is always a good idea to use everything you can in a fight to stay alive, but you don't need to actually kill people… You just need them to be afraid and believe you are serious about defending yourself or protecting someone else, this way you have advantage over them.
They spent a few hours training together until they felt really tired and hungry. Alex turned the kryptonite off and Kara was glad for it. It was just enough to make her less powerful, not enough to harm her, but she still didn't like it.
- Let's eat something, I'm starving – Kara smiled and Oliver followed her.
Oliver noticed Kara feeling back to her old self the moment she stepped out in the Sun. It was still amazing for him how the Sun was the source of all her powers and how it could charge her up so fast. He also noticed how her eyes sparkled in the Sunlight; how she had a peaceful and joyful look on her face. It was mesmerizing. He noticed she was blushing as she stared back at him and he tried not to make her uncomfortable, it was just really hard to take his eyes away from her.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" Oliver kept asking himself mentally.
END OF FLASHBACK
Oliver knew that was the exact moment he started to fall for her, he just didn't realize back then. He knew he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, so he just took a shower and came back to his bed, waiting for the time to pass while he remembered all of their firsts. He felt really anxious because they had this really stupid idea, he knew that now, of being apart the week before their wedding and he knew it seemed like a good idea but he regretted it so much, because he missed her a lot. It felt like torture and he had actually been tortured a lot in his life. Those moments were nothing compared to what he was feeling now.
He kept replaying different moments they shared on his mind to help ease the ache, but he wasn't sure if it was working.
FLASHBACK
Oliver crossed over to Kara's Earth around 7pm, the time he told her he would come to pick her up so they could go to Lena's party together. He knocked on her door, not wanting to scare her by breaching inside her apartment. As soon as she opened the door, his hear melted.
- You look… stunning – It was all he could say.
Kara blushed and smiled. She had a dark green dress, long mermaid dress, high neck with mesh design and open back. Her hair was in a classic low chignon with a few strands of hair loose on the sides of her face.
- Thank you, you're not so bad yourself. – She teased
- Thanks, Kara.
- I'm kidding – She said as she gave him a hug, feeling his hand on her bare back as he hugged her back – You look handsome, as always.
Oliver let her go and stared at her with a curious look and she automatically blushed so hard, her cheeks were really red.
They left for the party and had a great time. Oliver didn't remember the last time he was just this chill, calm, having fun, not wanting the night to end like he was at that moment, and he was really enjoying that.
Almost at the end of the party, where there was just a few people around chatting or at their tables, Kara finally convinced Oliver to share a dance with her.
- I love this song, c'mon – Kara said as she reached for his hand and brought him with her to the middle of the room.
- Just because is a slow song, so is easier to move, and the chances of me embarrassing myself are minimal – Oliver teased as she turned around to face him.
- Is not that bad – Kara laughed as she grabbed his hands and guided them to her waist, her own hands going for his shoulders. – See?
Oliver smiled at Kara as they slowly moved together in the rhythm of the music.
- Nothing is bad with you – He said, earning a curious look from her this time around.
They kept staring at each other in silence as they danced together. The song ended, another one started playing and they kept lost in each other's eyes.
- Do you… want to get out of here? – Kara said as her eyes kept traveling to his lips and back to his eyes.
- Sure – Oliver said as Kara nodded with her head, her hand holding his arm as they said their goodbyes to Lena and left.
They walked together in silence until they reached for her place. Kara stood at the door of her building and turned to stare at Oliver.
- I had a great time, thanks for coming with me – She said.
- Thanks for inviting me. – Oliver smiled at her and they both kept staring deeply into each other's eyes.
Oliver and Kara seemed to have the same idea cause both gave a step forward, closing the space between them. Oliver's hand went for her bare back once again and he brought her impossibly closer to his body, as her lips reached for his, her hand holding tight to his neck and the other resting on his shoulder. He could tell she shivered as his hands slowly went down her back. Oliver broke the kiss apart, almost out of breath. Their foreheads touched as they kept staring at each other.
- This was… - Oliver said
- I know… - Kara completed it – Do you… need to go back now?
- No.
- Stay?
- Yes. – Oliver's lips attacked hers once again, this time full of want.
Kara reached for his hands and brought him with her inside the building. Once they reached her door, Kara let him inside her apartment and closed the door behind him. She didn't have time to do anything else because Oliver's lips were all over hers once again, and Kara just gave into the kiss, responding with the same want.
END OF FLASHBACK
It was already 9am and Oliver was finishing getting ready. He met Barry and Diggle, his best men, one hour later and they left for the church. His heart was beating fast inside his chest. He just couldn't wait to see her.
They decided to get married on his Earth in the church and later, they would do a traditional kryptonian ceremony on her Earth, at the Fortress.
Everyone got up as soon as Kara was about to enter the church. Alex and Barry stood side by side, singing a beautiful song together and it got Oliver by surprise. He had no idea they were planning to do this, but he loved it. He had really talented friends, for sure. Oliver took a look at Kara, as Clark walked her down the isle and he couldn't believe how beautiful she looked, it almost made him lost his balance as he looked at her in awe. She had a beautiful A-Line white dress that cascaded out towards the floor; her hair was held in a careless curly oversized bun, leaving the right side of her neck totally exposed. As she came closer to him, he could see she had teary eyes too. She murmured "I love you" to him and he murmured it back to her, not being able to contain his huge smile.
Alex and Barry stood at their positions as best man and maid of honor while the ceremony happened. After a while, they prepared to say their vows and Oliver felt nervous about it. Kara started saying hers and she held his hands while staring deeply into his eyes with the most beautiful smile she had ever given him.
- I always thought I could never have it all. Because of my work, my life, all the responsibilities I had, it was really hard for me to trust enough to let people in. The one time I tried, I had my heart shared in a million pieces. I had given up on love when you came in and took me by surprise in a way I wasn't expecting. We didn't start on the right feet, and I was so mad at you that day – She laughed – But destiny had a surprise for both of us along the way. You showed me that it was possible to have it all, to love and be loved and I will always cherish that and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and call you my husband every day.
Oliver took a deep breath, trying hard not to let a few tears come down. He was touched by her words and his heart was beating so hard he was sure she could hear it like loud drums on her ears. He brought one of her hands to his lips and kissed it. He kept holding and caressing her hands as he spoke.
- I was full of darkness when we met, and somehow you brought light into my life. You always saw the best in people when I used to see the worst. You gave your all to the people you love while I always tried my best to stay away from them, because somehow I felt like I was going to let someone down. You know that because when we met, I tried to push you away and I'm glad I saw what a mistake that was. Little by little, you showed me that I didn't have to push people away or close myself to the world. You saw something in me no one else did; you helped me heal each wound, each scar. I learned to trust again with you, and that there's always a better way to do anything in life. There are no enough words to express how much I love you, Kara Danvers, and I'll spend the rest of my days showing you that and loving you. I'm excited for what's coming next, and I can't wait to call you my wife for the rest of our lives.
Oliver took another deep breath and smiled. Everyone clapped as the minister told him to kiss his bride.
"Finally" he thought as he held her by the waist and brought her a bit closer as they kissed.
He felt Kara's hand caressing his cheeks and smiled between their kiss. Their foreheads touched as they stared at each other with nothing but love in their eyes.
- Hi wife – He whispered to her
- Hi husband – She whispered back to him
They turned to their guests, holding hands and smiling while everyone kept applauding and cheering.
As they walked together out of the church, and strongly held each other's hands, Oliver knew everything would be more than ok.
He couldn't be happier.

I think you will like it. I'm so excited, it looks really cool cause I found many scenes that matches some scenes from the story, I don't think I've ever felt this excited before as I am now lol.
