Izuku sits in the train car beside the piles of boxes heading to Professor Juniper's lab with joltik sitting on top of his hat and litwick in his lap. "So joltik, litwick when we get to Nuvema town we are going straight to Professor Juniper's lab and then heading out to route one before nightfall. I'm going to be training you both to learn a new move before the first gym so we can win. I'm counting on you two to give it your all ok," Izuku says, voice raising to match his determination to win on his first try. "Jol-Joltik-tik," Joltik responds happily while Litwick responds calmly with, "Litwick-lit-lit." He smiles while looking out the window. They only had about an hour left before reaching his destination. Izuku just hums while petting Litwick the rest of the ride while
As the train comes to a stop, Izuku stands. He heads to the door as it slides open walking off the train. He looks around as a roofless jeep pulls up and a woman with brown hair in a ponytail with green skirt and a lab coat gets out. "Hello young man, who might you be?" She asks with a smile. "I'm Izuku, future Subway boss. This is Litwick and Joltik, my partners. What's your name ma'am?" Izuku replies with Joltik and Litwick waving hello. "My name is Professor Juniper. It's very nice to meet you, Izuku, Joltik, and Litwick. Ingo and Emmet told me you were coming so I'm here to take you to my lab to get you registered as a trainer." Professor Juniper replies smiling while leading Izuku to the car. "Wait a minute they called you," Izuku boisterously asks in shock after buckling in and returning his Pokémon to their Pokéballs. "Yes they wanted me to make sure you got here safe and have a good start to your journey. Now you're not the only trainer beginning today so we must head on our way," Professor Juniper replies.
After getting in, Juniper starts driving to her lab while she and Izuku have a nice conversation about Pokémon. After arriving at the lab Izuku and the Professor head inside only for Izuku to see to other kids his age waiting inside. One was a boy with short brown hair, brown eyes wearing a blue jacket and black jeans. The other was a boy with red hair spiked up to look like flames in a red t-shirt and black cargo pants. "Oh you two are here early, can't wait to start your journey I see." Juniper says while walking down the hallway. "So who are you, and where are you from?" the red haired boy asks. "I'm Izuku from Nimbasa City. I am starting my journey today." Izuku responds.
"Nice to meet you Izuku. My name is Cristopher and I'm from Nacrene City. My rude friend's name is Phoenix he's also from Nacrene City," the brown haired boy says. "Well it looks like you all are getting along. Hilbert and Phoenix today is the day you get to choose your partner Pokémon from one of these three types. First is the fire type Tepig, next is Oshawott the water type, and the final is the grass type Snivy." Professor Juniper says while walking up then releasing each Pokémon of the starter Pokémon. "You can pick first, Phoenix," Hilbert says. "Well I choose Tepig," Phoenix replies while looking at the Tepig who is snorting flames. "Well that was fast," Professor Juniper replies. "I'm going to be the best fire type trainer ever," Phoenix replies with a smirk. "I think I choose Oshawott," Hilbert says after observing both Snivy and Oshawott. "Perfect! Here is Oshawott's Pokéball Hilbert, and hers Tepig's Pokéball Phoenix. Now let me get you three your Pokédex's and extra Pokéballs," Professor Juniper says while handing over Oshawott's Pokéball to Hilbert and Tepig's Pokéball to Phoenix. She then turns around and hands Izuku, Phoenix, and Hilbert five Pokéballs and Pokédex each. "Hey why didn't Izuku get a starter," Phoenix asks after scanning Tepig. "My dad and papa got me my starters," Izuku says proudly before releasing Litwick and Joltik, he then scans them.
Litwick
Its flame is usually out, but it starts shining when Litwick absorbs life-force from people or Pokémon. Litwick is male

They attach themselves to large-bodied Pokémon and absorb static electricity, which they store in an electric pouch. Joltik is female

"Wow they are pretty tough, let's have a battle?" Phoenix says excitedly. "Sure that sounds like fun, but know I like to win," Izuku says with a huge smile. They run outside then stand far enough away to battle. "Let's blaze to victory, Tepig," Phoenix says while sending out Tepig. "All aboard Litwick," Izuku calls while letting Litwick jump out of his arms ready to battle. "Tepig use tackle," Phoenix yells. Tepig runs forward ready to slam into Litwick head first. "Litwick full speed ahead with astonish then use smog," Izuku calls while pointing toward Tepig. Litwick moves forward just as Tepig tries landing the attack only for Litwick to phase through and hit Tepig with astonish sending Tepig sliding across the field to only release smog covering the field from view. "Litwick keep on track, use ember," Izuku yells happily. Litwick launches the ember into the smoke as Phoenix yells, "Tepig get out of there and use ember!" Tepig jumps out of the smoke dodging the embers and lauding and ember at Litwick hitting head launching Litwick back a few feet. "Great job Tepig keep up the heat, use ember full blast," Phoenix yells excitedly while raising a fist in excitement.
Tepig launches more embers at Litwick, Izuku yells while pointing forward with one arm, "Litwick jump to dodge, use ember then astonish follow all safety checks." Litwick jumps and dodges the ember launching one of his own hitting Tepig before launching forward and knocking Tepig back with astonish. Tepig lands on its side, knocked out. "I lost that Litwick is stronger than it locks," Phoenix says while returning Tepig to its Pokéball. "Yep Litwick is the best. Your battle was not bad at all. I would like to battle you again when we meet again," Izuku replies in a boisterous voice while returning Litwick to rest in his Pokéball. "Sure sounds like a blast," Phoenix replies with a smile before walking back into Professor Juniper's lab. Hilbert smiles and say, "Well I hope to see you again. I need to go check and make sure Phoenix doesn't accidentally destroy anything." Hilbert then turns and walks into the lab after Phoenix.
