Since that day, things started to improve for Rachel, Chloe, and me. Now that we were both 19, Chloe was just a month younger than me. The worst part was that David had married Aunt Joyce not long ago, and we really didn't like it.

During this time, Chloe decided to dye her hair completely blue, which looked really cool. We all got tattoos too; I chose a wolf on my left forearm with a dreamcatcher and feathers, while Chloe went for a full sleeve on her right arm. Rachel got a dragon tattoo on her right calf and a star on her wrist.

Rachel and I had been together for a year and a half, but lately, she seemed to be pulling away from us. I couldn't figure out why she was acting this way, and she never shared anything with me or Chloe.

After that, she completely stopped reaching out to both me and Chloe. It felt like she was acting like we were invisible.

"Chloe, have you gotten any messages from Rachel?" I asked my cousin while holding a postcard. "Not really, why do you ask?" Chloe replied.

I handed the postcard to Chloe, leaning against the wall by her bed. It was a postcard from Rachel that she sent from LA. I felt really sad that she just disappeared from our lives.

"Wow, I didn't think she would leave that quickly," Chloe said as she moved closer to me. "By the way, what happened between you and Rachel? You never explained it."

I rested my arm on my knee and turned my gaze away. "It was just some dumb shit. She was keeping secrets, and when I confronted her, she yelled at me, saying I shouldn't pry into her life. That really pissed me off, and that's why we ended things," I replied, my fists tightening.

"I thought you two were really in love. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be," Chloe said. "No, she wasn't the one. Maybe I'll meet someone else eventually. Honestly, if we weren't family, you'd be a great match for me," I joked, leaning back with a grin. Chloe shot me a look. "Don't even start," she said, rolling her eyes.

I playfully nudged her on the shoulder. "I'm just fucking with you, Chloe. But really, thanks for being here to help me out. I can only count on you right now," I said, wrapping my arms around my stomach.

"Yeah, I get it. I'm happy you're here too. Maybe Rachel will come back and say sorry," Chloe replied with a smile. I couldn't help but give my younger cousin a hug. She's not just family; she's one of my closest friends. She hugged me back.

"I love you, Chloe," I said. "Love you too, you sap," she replied when we let go. Wow, life couldn't possibly get any wilder than this. Or could it?
