Episode 355: The Green Guardian
A couple of days have passed since the overpowered Elekid incident, so Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple made their way to Celadon City to make their way to Porta Vista. Along on the way, Sora exchanged Donphan, and Kingler for Mightyena and Parasect There was talk of the Pokémon Stadium Cup taking place there, so Sora, Chase, and Elaine didn't waste any time getting ready for that one. Sora and Chase were in the east wing while Elaine is in the west wing.
Chase was paired off against Katie whom Sora battled in the Hoenn Pokemon League. It was going to be the Sand Field and it was going to be a double battle.
"Hey, you're Katie, right? I saw you battle against Sora in the full battles on TV," Chase said.
"You know Sora?" Katie asked.
"Yeah. I knew him from way back. I want to say, it's a thrill to be battling you," Chase said.
"Thanks. Just so you know, I don't plan on losing here today," Katie said.
The referee came in to begin the battle.
"Trainers! Choose your first two Pokémon and begin the battle!" The referee called out. Chase and Katie each took out two Pokeballs and threw them.
"Okay, Scyther, Pidgeotto! Go!" Chase called out.
"Scizor, Venomoth! Go!" Katie called out.
All four of the Pokémon came out to battle.
"Scyther! Use Fury Cutter on Venomoth! Pidgeotto! Use Wing Attack on Scizor!" Chase ordered. Pidgeotto and Scyther rushed to land a hit onto their opponents.
"Scizor! Use Double Team! Venomoth! Use Stun Spore on Scyther!" Katie ordered. Scizor uses Double Team to avoid Pidgeotto's Wing Attack. Venomoth dodged Scyther's Fury Cutter and sprinkled the Mantis Pokémon with Stun Spore, paralyzing Scyther. Katie smirked. "Scizor! Use Metal Claw on Pidgeotto!" Scizor came at Pidgeotto and lands a hit with Metal Claw. "Supersonic!" Venomoth unleashed Supersonic, confusing the both of them. Chase calls them both back and he took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Charmander! Go!" Chase called out. His Charmander emerged from inside. He turned to Volt. "You go in, too, Volt." Volt nodded and goes in. Katie grinned. She calls Scizor and Venomoth back and took out two more Pokéballs and threw them.
"Dugtrio, Golduck! Go!" Katie called out. Both of her newly selected Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"What the?!" Chase exclaimed.
"After seeing that Pikachu, I figured you would send it out, so I had my Dugtrio ready. I did the same thing with Sora when I battled him," Katie said.
"Crap, I can't believe I walked into that one," Chase said.
"That's not all. Golduck! Use Hydro Pump on Charmander!" Katie ordered. Golduck fired Hydro Pump at Charmander. Charmander ran to avoid the water attack.
"I don't think so! Volt! Use Pika Papow on Golduck!" Chase ordered. Volt turned to Chase and smiled. Volt then unleashed Pika Papow, shocking the Duck Pokémon, knocking it out instantly.
"Golduck is unable to battle!" The referee announced, much to Katie's dismay.
"What in the world was that?!" Katie gasped. She calls her Golduck back and she took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Venomoth! You're going back out!" Her Pokéball opened and her Venomoth reentered the battle. "Dugtrio! Use Sand Tomb!" Dugtrio creates a hole beneath itself and drags Volt and Charmander in it.
"Electric-type attacks aren't going to do it, so Charmander! Use Dig!" Charmander dug a hole to get out of the Sand Tomb. "Okay, Volt! Use Splishy Splash!" Volt summoned a giant wave and sent it down to Dugtrio, much to the Mole Pokémon's dismay. The tidal wave gave off electric sparks, so Dugtrio was struck by the electrified water and hit by it. Dugtrio ends up being paralyzed by it. Charmander came out of the ground as water shoots out. Charmander quick enough to avoid it.
"Venomoth! Use Disable on Charmander!" Katie ordered.
"Flamethrower!" Chase ordered. Charmander fired Flamethrower at Venomoth, engulfing the Poison Moth Pokémon in intense flames. It fell to the ground, beaten.
"Venomoth is unable to battle!" The referee announced. She calls her Venomoth back and she took out her Scizor's Pokéball and threw it.
"Scizor! Go!" Katie called out. Her Scizor came back out to battle. "Use Metal Claw!"
"Charmander! Use Flamethrower!" Chase ordered. Charmander fired Flamethrower at Scizor, dealing some heavy damage.
"Dugtrio! Use Dig!" Katie ordered.
"You use Dig, too!" Chase ordered. Charmander dug into the earth and went after Dugtrio. The Lizard Pokémon lands a hit onto Dugtrio, forcing it back on the surface. "Splishy Splash!" Volt unleashed another Splishy Splash at Dugtrio, dealing some additional damage. Scizor is also struck and ends up being paralyzed. Dugtrio had been knocked out.
"Dugtrio is unable to battle!" The referee announced. She calls her Dugtrio back.
"Charmander! Use Flamethrower!" Chase ordered. Charmander unleashed another Flamethrower, engulfing Scizor in intense flames, knocking it out.
"Scizor is unable to battle! Pikachu and Charmander wins! The winner is Chase from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, Charmander!" Chase said. Charmander starts to run up to Chase when it began to evolve. It jumped into the air. Charmander had evolved into a Charmeleon and lands right on Chase. "Awesome! You're a Charmeleon, now!"
"Charmeleon!" The newly evolved Charmeleon said.
Over to the west wing, Elaine is having her battle on the City Field. It was going to be a single battle. Elaine was up against a dark-skinned girl wearing a pink tank top and blue shorts. The referee came out to begin the battle.
"Trainers! Choose your first Pokémon and begin the battle!" The referee called out. Both Trainers took out their first Pokéballs. They threw their Pokéballs.
"Go for it, Nidorina!" Elaine called out.
"Heracross! Go!" The girl called out.
Both Pokémon came out to battle. Elaine's opponent's Heracross is female.
"Heracross! Use Horn Attack!" The girl ordered. Heracross rushed at Nidorina with her horn.
"Dodge and use Headbutt!" Elaine ordered. Nidorina avoids Heracross's Horn Attack and lands a Headbutt. "Use Venoshock!" Nidorina unleashed a Venoshock at the Single Horn Pokémon, landing a hit.
"Use Hyper Beam!" The girl ordered. Heracross fired a Hyper Beam at the female Poison Pin Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Poison Fang!" Elaine ordered. Nidorina avoids Heracross's Hyper Beam and comes down. Nidorina lands a venomous bite onto Heracross, poisoning her. "Heracross can't attack again right away after using Hyper Beam, so use Poison Fang again!" Nidorina lands another Poison Fang, taking advantage of Heracross's disposition.
"Heracross! Horn Attack!" The girl ordered.
"Use Venoshock!" Elaine ordered. Nidorina fired a Venoshock, landing heavy damage on the beetle-like Pokémon. Heracross had been knocked out.
"Heracross is unable to battle! Nidorina wins!" The referee announced.
"Way to go, Nidorina!" Elaine happily exclaimed. Her opponent called back her Nidorina and she took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Miltank!" The girl called out. The Pokéball opened and a Miltank emerged from inside, ready to battle. Elaine took out Nidorina's Pokéball and called her back. She took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"You're up, Butterfree!" Elaine called out. It turns out Elaine's Caterpie had evolved into a female Butterfree.
"Miltank! Rollout!" The girl ordered. Miltank rolls right at the female Butterfly Pokémon.
"Dodge it and use Sleep Powder!" Elaine ordered. Butterfree avoided Miltank's Rollout and sprinkled a Sleep Powder, making the Milk Cow Pokémon fall asleep. "Great! Now, use a full powered Signal Beam!" Butterfree fired a very powerful Signal Beam, hitting Miltank, resulting in a knockout.
"Miltank is unable to battle! Butterfree wins!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Butterfree!" Elaine praised her Pokémon. "You were awesome." Her opponent calls back her fallen Miltank and took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Golem!" The girl called out. Her Pokéball opened and a large Golem emerged from inside. It was a little larger than a normal-sized Golem. Elaine called back her Butterfree and took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Gloom! Go!" Elaine called out. Her Pokéball and her Gloom emerged from inside. Her Oddish had evolved into a female Gloom.
"Golem! Use your Heavy Slam!" The girl ordered. Golem jumped up and started to come down hard.
"Dodge it and use Mega Drain!" Elaine ordered. Gloom tried to avoid Golem's Heavy Slam, but got caught in the blast of Golem's attack. The Weed Pokémon then begins to build up some green energy and saps some energy from the Megaton Pokémon. Gloom managed to recover some of her energy.
"Golem! Use Rock Slide!" The girl ordered. Golem unleashed Rock Slide and sends it at Gloom.
"Okay, Gloom! Use Magical Leaf!" Elaine ordered. Gloom dodges Golem's Rock Slide and fired Magical Leaf, hitting Golem on the mark. "Use Mega Drain again!" Gloom uses another Mega Drain, absorbing Golem's energy and ends up being knocked out.
"Golem is unable to battle! Gloom wins! The winner is Elaine from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Gloom," Elaine said. Gloom beamed.
Over to the east wing, Sora is up against a bald, obese biker. It was going to be a single battle on the Grass Field. The referee stepped out to begin the battle.
"Choose your first Pokémon and begin the battle!" The referee called out. The Biker took out a Pokéball while Sora took out his Sport Ball. They threw the balls.
"Go! Muk!" The biker called out.
"Kleavor! Go!" Sora called out.
Both Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Muk! Use Sludge Wave!" The biker ordered. Muk fired a Sludge Wave at Kleavor.
"Dodge and use Stone Axe!" Sora ordered. Kleavor dodges Muk's Sludge Wave and then swings his axes, hitting the Sludge Pokémon on the mark. Then stones begins to scatter around the battlefield. "Use Aerial Ace!" Kleavor dashed at Muk, landing a hit.
"Why you! Muk! Use Flamethrower!" The biker ordered. Muk fired a Flamethrower at the Axe Pokémon.
"Dodge and use X-Scissor!" Sora ordered. Kleavor dodged Muk's Flamethrower and came at Muk with an X-Scissor and lands a hit.
"Use Toxic!" The biker ordered.
"Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered. Kleavor dashed at Muk, landing a hit and resulting in a knockout.
"Muk is unable to battle! Kleavor wins!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Kleavor!" Sora said. He called his Muk back and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"You're going in now, Weezing!" The biker called out. His Weezing emerged from inside, ready to battle. The stones jabs into Weezing.
"Okay, Kleavor! Use Aerial Ace!" Sora ordered.
"Weezing! Use Explosion!" The biker ordered. Weezing begins to build up energy and let's out a huge explosion, dealing some damage to Kleavor. Due to his resistance against Normal-type attacks, he managed to stay on his feet, but Weezing was down for the count.
"Weezing is unable to battle! Kleavor wins!" The referee announced.
"What was that about?" Sora asked as the biker called his Weezing back.
"Just a small taste," the biker said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Cleffa! I choose you!" His Pokéball opened and a Cleffa came on out. The stones jabs into Cleffa. Sora was caught off guard when he saw a Cleffa since he found it weird that a guy like him would have a cute and adorable Pokémon like Cleffa.
"A Cleffa?" Sora asked. "I didn't think someone like you would have a Pokémon like a Cleffa under his belt."
"So what I have a Cleffa! Why does it matter to you what kind of Pokémon I have with me?! My Cleffa is the strongest Cleffa that ever was, and I'm going to prove it here!"
"Okay, let's see what your Cleffa can do!" Sora said.
"Alright, shrimp! You asked for it! Cleffa! Use your strongest Water Pulse!" The biker ordered. Cleffa unleashed a powerful Water Pulse, hitting Kleavor on the mark.
"Okay, use X-Scissor!" Sora ordered.
"Use Dazzling Gleam!" The biker ordered. Cleffa dodged Kleavor's attack and lands a Dazzling Gleam on the Axe Pokémon, dealing some additional damage. Kleavor was then knocked out.
"Kleavor is unable to battle! Cleffa wins!" The referee announced. Sora calls Kleavor back.
"Man, that Cleffa is tougher than it looks. Okay, let's try this one," Sora said, taking out another Pokéball and threw it. "Parasect! Go!" His Parasect came out to battle. "Word of warning, Parasect. That Cleffa is tougher than it looks. Be on your toes." Parasect nodded. "Okay, Parasect! Use Cross Poison!" Parasect came at Cleffa with his two claws emitting a strong poison.
"Dodge it and use your Flamethrower!" The biker ordered. Cleffa avoids Parasect's Cross Poison and fired a Flamethrower at the Mushroom Pokémon, landing a hit. Parasect was still standing, despite being hit by Flamethrower.
"Okay, Parasect! Use your Spore!" Sora ordered.
"Use your Flamethrower!" The biker ordered. Cleffa fired Flamethrower again, cutting through Parasect's Spore and lands another hit onto Parasect, resulting in a knockout.
"Parasect is unable to battle! Cleffa wins!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Cleffa! One more to go!" The biker said. Sora calls back Parasect. Before he could turn to Pikachu, Meltan's Pokéball opened up and Meltan came right out to battle instead of Pikachu.
"Wha? Meltan?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"You wanna battle, Meltan?" Sora asked. Meltan nodded.
"Okay, Meltan. I guess I can depend on you," Sora said.
"You think that little weakling will measure up to my Cleffa? You better think again, little man! My Cleffa will take it down before you can even blink," the biker said.
"Don't be so sure, man! Go for it, Meltan!" Sora said. Meltan prepared itself to battle Cleffa.
"Okay, Cleffa! Use your Flamethrower!" The biker ordered.
"Dodge it and use your Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered.
Cleffa fired its Flamethrower at Meltan, but the Hex Nut Pokémon avoids the Star Shape Pokémon's Flamethrower and fired Flash Cannon. An explosion occurred when it struck Cleffa. When the smoke cleared, Cleffa was still standing.
"Ha! That barely even phased my Cleffa. Okay, Cleffa! Flamethrower, one more time!" The biker ordered. He waited for a few seconds before he realized Cleffa was just standing there. "Huh? Hey, what the hell gives?" Sora looked closer and saw Cleffa was dazed from the attack.
"You might want to take a much closer look, dude," Sora said.
"What are you talking abou-" The biker paused when he saw his Cleffa was dazed before it fell over on its face, beaten.
"Cleffa is unable to battle! Meltan wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Yes! That was awesome, Meltan!" Sora said. Meltan wags its wire-like tail as the biker picked up Cleffa in his arms.
"Cleffa, speak to me," the biker begged.
"Fa," Cleffa weakly said.
"I'll have to get you and the others to a Pokémon Center, and get you healed up," the biker said.
Over to Chase, he is up against a young man wearing a samurai outfit. He has his hair tried in a ponytail while he carried a wooden katana. The battle is taking place on the Grass Field and it was going to be a single battle.
"Trainers! Choose your first Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Chase and his opponent each took out a Pokéball. They threw their Pokéballs.
"Charmeleon! Go!" Chase called out.
"I choose you, Marowak!" The young man called out.
Both Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Okay, Charmeleon! Use your Slash!" Chase ordered.
"Marowak! Use your Bone Club!" The young man ordered. Marowak gave Charmeleon a smack with a Bone Club, dealing some heavy damage. "Use your Bonemerang!" Marowak threw its bone, hitting Charmeleon, resulting in a knockout.
"Charmeleon is unable to battle! Marowak wins!" The referee announced.
"Well done, my friend," the young man said.
"Wak," Marowak said.
Chase calls his Charmeleon back and took out another Pokéball.
"Okay, a Fire-type was a no-go, but this should make up for it!" Chase said, throwing his next Pokéball. "Ivysaur! I choose you!" His Pokéball opened and his Ivysaur emerged from inside. "Alright, Ivysaur, use your Vine Whip!" Ivysaur extends its vines at the Bone Keeper Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" The young man ordered. Marowak avoids Ivysaur's Vine Whip. "Focus Energy, followed by a Bone Rush!" Marowak builds up its focus, and then ran at Ivysaur with a Bone Rush.
"Dodge it! Hurry!" Chase called out. Ivysaur tried to avoid Marowak's attack, but the Bone Keeper Pokémon came too fast for it to dodge. Marowak lands a hit with Bone Rush. "Finish Ivysaur off with a Bone Club!" Marowak lands a hit onto Ivysaur, dealing some heavy damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Ivysaur is unable to battle! Marowak wins!" The referee announced. Chase called back his Ivysaur and he looked at Volt.
"You wanna have a shot at Marowak, Volt?" Chase asked.
"Pikachu," Volt nodded.
"Great. Go!" Chase said as Volt went in the battlefield.
"You judgement is lacking. You should know by now my Marowak is a Ground-type Pokémon. Its inferior Electric-type moves will have no effect on my Marowak at all," the young man said.
"I know, but my Pikachu is no slouch in battle! Volt! Use Splishy Splash!" Chase ordered. Volt summoned water with electric sparks and sends it right at Marowak.
"Splishy Splash? I have never heard of such a move, but no matter! Marowak! Avoid the water at all costs!" The young man shouted. Marowak jumped with incredible speed, avoiding Volt's Splishy Splash, much to his surprise. "It was wise of you to teach your Pikachu a Water-type attack, but even that is not enough to defeat my Marowak. Use Bonemerang!" Marowak threw its bone and lands a hit onto Volt, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Bone Club!" Marowak came at Volt and lands a hwavy hit with Bone Club, landing a devastating blow onto the Pikachu and results in a knockout.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Marowak wins! The winner is Otoshi from Fushia City!" The referee announced.
"Volt, you okay?" Chase asked as he helped his partner up.
"Pika," Volt said.
"You did your best, Volt. That's all that matters," Chase said.
"You've done well," Otoshi said as he and his Marowak approached him. "You would have overwhelmed me if that water attack was successful."
"Yeah, but your Marowak was very awesome. When we battle each other again, I won't lose to you again," Chase said.
"I do not doubt it, my friend. Until we meet again," Otoshi said, holding out his hand. Chase took Otoshi by the hand and shook it.
Over to Elaine, she has climbed her way up and overwhelmed each opponent. She was on her eighth battle when she had won as Maple has finished off a Raichu with a Veevee Volley.
"Raichu is unable to battle! Eevee wins! The winner is Elaine from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Great job, Maple!" Elaine happily exclaimed.
"Eevee, vee," Maple said. "Now, to wait and see who I'll be up against next."
Over to the east wing, Sora is battling against Otoshi on the Rock Field. And it was going to be a triple battle.
"Are you the Sora Ketchum I have heard many whispers about?" Otoshi asked.
"Yeah, that'll be me," Sora said.
"I will say, it is an extreme honor to be battling you here today. Give me an honorable battle," Otoshi requested.
"You do the same, Otoshi," Sora said.
With that said, the referee stepped out to begin the battle.
"Trainers! Choose your three Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Otoshi took out three of his Pokéballs and threw them. Sora did the same with his.
"Espeon, Umbreon, Kleavor! Go!" Sora called out.
"Marowak, Doduo, and Scizor! Go forth!" Otoshi called out as his three Pokémon came out to battle.
"Okay, Kleavor! Use your Aerial Ace on Scizor!" Sora ordered.
"We will match Aerial Ace with Aerial Ace, Scizor!" Otoshi ordered. The evolved forms of Scyther clashed at each other with Aerial Ace. "Doduo! Use your Quick Attack on Umbreon! Marowak! Focus Energy, followed by Bone Club on Espeon!" Duduo ran towards Umbreon with Quick Attack as Marowak to build up its focus. Marowak then charged at Espeon with Bone Club.
"Umbreon! Use Feint Attack on Doduo! Espeon! Use Psychic on Marowak!" Sora ordered. Umbreon vanished before reappearing to land a hit onto Doduo as Espeon uses Psychic to stop Marowak in its tracks. "Great! Crunch and Psychic Fangs!" Espeon and Umbreon each landed a bite onto Marowak, dealing some dame on the Bone Keeper Pokémon.
"Doduo! Use Drill Peck on Espeon!" Otoshi ordered.
"Kleavor! Use Stone Axe on Doduo!" Sora ordered. Kleavor rushed at Doduo and swings one of his axes at the Twin Bird Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage. Rocks splintered all around.
"Marowak! Use Bonemerang on Kleavor!" Otoshi ordered. Marowak threw its bone at Kleavor, dealing some damage onto Kleavor. "Bone Club!" Marowak came at Kleavor and lands a Bone Club, knocking Kleavor out.
"Kleavor is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora calls Kleavor back.
"You did your best, Kleavor," Sora said.
"Doduo! Jump Kick on Umbreon!" Otoshi ordered. Doduo jumped up to hit Umbreon.
"Dodge and with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Umbreon dodged Doduo's Jump Kick. Because it missed, Doduo has received heavy damage. "Use Dark Pulse!" Umbreon unleashed a Dark Pulse, hitting Doduo, resulting a knockout.
"Doduo is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Otoshi has called back his Doduo.
"Very impressive. Now, we are on equal terms. Marowak! Bone Rush! Scizor! Fury Cutter!" Otoshi ordered. Both Pokémon rushed at Espeon and Umbreon. Remembering how Wes usually did things, Sora decided to try something of his own.
"Espeon, Umbreon! Psybeam and Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Espeon and Umbreon unleashed a combo Psybeam and Dark Pulse. Marowak managed to get away, but Scizor wasn't so fortunate when it was caught in the blast, resulting in a knockout.
"Scizor is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Otoshi called back his Scizor.
"It is only the two of us, now, Marowak," Otoshi said.
"Marowak," Marowak said.
"Marowak! Use your Bonemerang on Espeon!" Otoshi ordered. Marowak threw its bone right at Espeon.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Espeon managed to avoid Marowak's bone, but it came fast enough to strike Espeon. Marowak catches it.
"Bonmerang again! Aim it at Umbreon!" Otoshi ordered. Marowak threw another Bonemerang and sends it right at Umbreon.
"Feint Attack!" Sora ordered. Umbreon vanished, making the bone miss. He lands a hit onto Marowak. Marowak's bone comes back, but Marowak catches it.
"Marowak! Bone Rush!" Otoshi ordered. Marowak ran at the two Eeveelutuons with a Bone Rush.
"Espeon! Psychic Fangs! Umbreon! Crunch!" Sora ordered. Both Pokémon ran and they each landed a bite onto it. "Psychic!" Espeon uses Psychic on Marowak, making it float up. "Feint Attack!" Umbreon uses Feint Attack and lands a hit onto Marowak, resulting in a knockout.
"Marowak is unable to battle! Espeon and Umbreon wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
"Marowak, are you alright, my friend?" Otoshi asked.
"Marowak," Marowak weakly said.
"Do not apologize, my friend. You battled honorably," Otoshi said. He and Marowak bowed their heads. He and Marowak approached Sora, Pikachu, Espeon, and Umbreon. "You battled well, Sora."
"Thanks, Otoshi. You were really awesome," Sora said as he and Otoshi shook hands.
"I look forward to battling you again," Otoshi said.
It was now the last battle as Sora and Elaine had each made it. It was going to be on the Ice Field and it was going to be a double battle.
"Sora, give me everything you have," Elaine said.
"You do the same thing, Elaine," Sora said.
With that said, the referee stepped in to start the battle.
"Trainers! Choose your first two Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Sora and Elaine each took out two Pokéballs and threw them.
"Raticate, Gliscor! Go!" Sora called out.
"Go! Ponyta and Nidorina!" Elaine called out.
All four Pokémon came out to begin the battle. Elaine took out her Rotom Phone to scan Sora's Gliscor.

Type: Ground/Flying
When on the hunt, Gliscor follows its prey from the treetops without making a sound. It swoops in and catches its prey, letting its elongated fangs do the rest.
"Raticate! Flame Wheel on Zubat! Gliscor! Use Night Slash on Ponyta!" Sora ordered. Gliscor flew at the Fire Horse Pokémon with a Night Slash while Raticate uses a Flame Wheel and rolls right at the Bat Pokémon.
"Ponyta! Dodge it and use Fire Spin! Zubat! Use Air Cutter!" Elaine ordered. Ponyta managed to avoid Gliscor's Night Slash before using Fire Spin.
"Gliscor! Dodge and use Wing Attack on Zubat!" Sora ordered. Gliscor dodges Ponyta's Fire Spin and comes flying in after Zubat.
"Zubat! Use Supersonic!" Elaine ordered. Zubat unleashed Supersonic at Gliscor, confusing the Fang Scorpion Pokémon. Sora was impressed.
"Hey, that was awesome, Elaine! Clever of you to use Supersonic to save Zubat," Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora. I'm just getting warmed up. Zubat! Use Shadow Ball!" Elaine ordered. Zubat fired a Shadow Ball, hitting Gliscor. "Ponyta! Use Flame Charge in Raticate!" Ponyta ran and lands a hit with Flame Charge.
"Raticate! Use your Super Fang!" Sora ordered. Raticate came at Ponyta and lands a heavy bite onto the Fire Horse Pokémon. "Use Quick Attack!" Raticate lands another hit onto Ponyta, resulting in a knockout.
"Ponyta is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Elaine called back her Ponyta and she took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Gloom! Go!" Elaine called out. Her Gloom came on out. "Use Magical Leaf on Raticate!" Gloom fired a Magical Leaf, hitting Raticate. "Use Mega Drain!" She saps Raticate's remaining energy and ends up being knocked out.
"Raticate is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora called back Raticate and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Sableye! Go!" Sora called out. Sableye came out to battle. "Sableye! Use Shadow Claw!" Sableye slashed at Gloom with Shadow Claw. "Okay, Sableye! Use Power Gem on Zubat!" Sableye fired a Power Gem at Zubat, resulting in a knockout.
"Zubat is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Elaine called back her Zubat and looked at Maple.
"Your turn now, Maple!" Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple said, stepping in.
"Okay, Ghost-type moves won't work on Maple, but I won't need to. Sableye! Use Shadow Ball on Gloom!" Sableye fired Shadow Ball at Gloom.
"Maple! In front of Gloom!" Elaine called out. Maple got in front of Gloom and took the hit of Shadow Ball. It does nothing to her.
"That was awesome. Using Maple's resistance against Ghost-type attacks was pretty smart," Sora said.
"Thanks, Sora. Let's keep it going! Gloom! Aim your Magical Leaf at Gliscor!" Elaine ordered. Gloom sends out Magical Leaf and struck Gliscor on the mark.
"Okay, Gliscor! Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Gliscor tried to land a Night Slash, but he ends up hurting himself. That shook off Gliscor's confusion. "Gliscor! Wing Attack!" Gliscor flew at Maple and Gloom and landed a hit onto the both of them. "Sableye! Use Feint Attack on Maple!" Sableye vanished before he reappeared to land a hit onto Maple. "Power Gem!"
"Maple! Use Sparkly Swirl!" Elaine ordered.
"Sparkly what?" Sora asked. He got his answer when Maple summoned a pink sparkling, whirlwind, hitting Sableye. It deals a lot of damage onto the Darkness Pokémon and results in a knockout.
"Sableye is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora called back his Sableye.
"That looked like a Fairy-type move. Gliscor, it's all up to you," Sora said. Gliscor nodded. "Use Earthquake!" Gliscor stomps on the battlefield, making the ice shatter around Maple and Gloom. "Use Wing Attack!" Gliscor flew at Maple and Gloom, landing a hit on the both of them. "X-Scissor!" Gliscor lands an X-Scissor on the both of them, resulting in a double knockout.
"Eevee and Gloom are both unable to battle! Gliscor wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.
After the Celadon City portion of the Pokémon Stadium Cup was finished, Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple have gone to the Pokémon Center to have the Pokémon healed up before they went to pick up some supplies and continue on their way to Porta Vista on the next day.
Meanwhile, a forest fire occurs as wild Pokémon ran for their lives, trying to avoid the fire. Coming out of a vortex, a Celebi came flying and it uses its powers over nature to summon thorns from underneath, covering the flaming trees, putting out the fire. Celebi has used up most of its energy and fell to the ground, exhausted.
Unfortunately, one of the trees started to fall where Celebi was, so it teleports itself to safety. The forest Pokémon were watching the tree fall, but they were relieved to see Celebi wasn't crushed by the falling tree. Celebi had teleported to a different location and several thorns erupts from the ground.
Back in Celadon City on the next morning, Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple had left Celadon City to head for the Cycling Road in order to reach Porta Vista.
"Looks like we can save time by renting some bikes and ride on the Cycling Road," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"It should be up ahead," Rei said.
When they got to the Cycling Road, they found that it was closed and there was Officer Jenny standing in front of the building.
"Oh, no. What could have happened?" Elaine asked.
"I don't know, but we should find out," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Eevee," Maple said.
With that said, the group approached Officer Jenny.
"Excuse us, but what's going on?" Kairi asked.
"Well, as you can see, the Cycling Road is closed for the time being," Officer Jenny said.
"Closed?" The group asked.
"I'm sorry, there was so much rain last night, there was a terrible mudslide. If you're in a hurry, you'll have to take this detour over to my right," Officer Jenny said, pointing the way. "It should take you right to Porta Vista."
"Thanks for the tip, Jenny," Sora said.
They walk in the detour, thinking about what had happened.
"I don't get it. I know it was raining last night, but this is ridiculous," Chase said.
"I doubt it was bad enough to cause a mudslide, but something doesn't feel right," Rei said.
"You're not saying it might have something to do with Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, or Vanitas, are you, Master?" Elaine asked.
"That is the most likely scenario, Elaine. We should keep our eyes opened for signs of either one of them," Rei said.
"Yes, Master," Sora, Kairi, Chase, and Elaine said in unison.
Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple heard something in the forest.
"What's wrong?" Sora asked. The four Pokémon just ran off to look into it. "Hey, Pikachu! Wait!"
"Volt, where are you going?" Chase asked.
"Angel, come back!" Kairi called out.
"Maple, don't go in there!" Elaine called out.
They chased after the Pokémon, getting them off the path. They were then cut off by a familiar face and a familiar Plusle.
"Stop right there! Turn back!" Solana said. She took a look at the couple. "Wait, Sora, Kairi? Is that you?"
"Yeah, it's us, Solana," Sora said.
"You know her?" Chase asked.
"Yeah, we met her on Faraway Island on our home after the Hoenn Pokémon League. She's a Pokémon Ranger. We teamed up with her to take down a Pokémon Hunter that was after Mew and taking out some Heartless, too," Sora said.
"I'm glad to see the both of you again, but you shouldn't have come here. You should turn around and take the designated path," Solana said.
"We can't because our partners ran in those woods," Sora said.
"It was Pikachu and Angel," Kairi said.
"Also my Pikachu Volt," Chase said.
"And my Eevee Maple," Elaine said.
"What? Hold on," Solana said, taking out her communicator. "This is Solana. We have a situation. We have four Pokémon over the line. It's two Pikachu and two Eevee. I have their Trainers here with me now," Solana reported. She listened to the other end. "Okay. Understood. Solana out." She placed her communicator in her pocket. "That was the Ranger Union. They said you can move on to get them."
"Great. We can't thank you enough," Sora said.
"Not a problem. I had a feeling I'd see you again. So, who are your friends?" Solana asked.
"I'm Chase," Chase introduced himself.
"And I'm Elaine," Elaine introduced herself.
Meanwhile, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple ran deep into the forest and through the thorns. It turns out that the thorns were the cause of the Cycling Road being closed.
"Think it was a good idea running off like that? I don't think they're right behind us anymore!" - Volt subtitle.
"It'll be worth it, Volt. Besides, they'll catch up with us! And they'll understand when we find it!" - Pikachu subtitle.
"Find what?" - Maple subtitle.
"We'll have to find out when we come across it!" - Angel subtitle.
Back with the group, Sora and Kairi explains to Solana that Chase and Elaine each have a Keyblade of their own, so they're learning under Rei like the others.
"Wow. I have to say, I'm amazed," Solana said.
"Sora, Kairi, and the others would have been goners if we hadn't saved them in time," Elaine said.
"Anyway, you haven't seen Vanitas, have you?" Chase asked.
"Who's that?" Solana asked.
"A Keyblade wielder like us. He is wearing a mask," Rei said.
"I haven't seen him, but I thought there was something off. I have heard rumors of a masked boy that is somehow connected to a horde of monsters that first appeared in the Hoenn region," Solana said.
"And that would be the Unversed," Sora said.
"Changing the subject, what is a Pokémon Ranger?" Elaine asked.
"A Pokémon Ranger is a person who deals with accidents and natural disasters by the use of wild Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Really? Wild Pokémon?" Chase asked.
"Yeah, we saw it happen. We first saw it happen when a Pokémon Ranger we met on the way to Evergrand City named Jackie when he was assigned to protect an egg containing a Manaphy inside," Sora said.
"I remember. Phantom the Pirate was after Manaphy because it would lead him to the Sea Temple Samiya," Kairi said.
They reached the thorns and they gasped.
"Look at that," Sora said.
"Those are the thickest thorns I have ever seen," Kairi said.
"Volt and the others are in there, so we can just use our Keyblades to cut through them," Chase said.
"That won't work. Those thorns are way to thick for us to cut through them," Elaine said.
"I agree with Elaine. We'll have to leave it up to Solana," Rei said.
"Yeah, she's a Pokémon Ranger," Sora said.
"And she'll find a way to get through," Kairi said.
"Yes, I can. In fact, my Capture Styler can help us with this situation," Solana said.
"Plusle," Plusle said.
"Capture Styler?" Chase asked.
"It's a device I can use to catch Pokémon without using a Pokéball," Solana said.
"How does that even work?" Chase asked.
"A Capture Styler lets me check on things, like a Pokémon's abilities or its conditions. It's very useful for Pokémon Rangers. The data on the Capture Styler allows us to figure out which Pokémon we can get help from," Solana said.
"And what Pokémon are you looking for?" Sora asked.
"What we're looking for is a Pokémon that can use a move like Slash to cut the thorns," Solana said as she scans around. They come across a small swarm of Scyther. "And these Scyther seems to be the only Pokémon that can use Slash."
"How do you capture the Pokémon?" Elaine asked.
"Watch and find out," Solana said as she readies the Capture Styler. "Capture on!" She sends out a top-like device from the Capture Styler. She twirls the Capture Styler around and around. It goes around the Scyther, creating a ring of energy. It closes around the Scyther as they were now captured by Solana. "Capture complete! Plusle! Helping Hand!" Plusle uses Helping Hand and boosts up the Scyther's strength. "Use Slash on those thorns! Go!" The Scyther complied with her and slashed through the thorns.
"So, does that mean, those Scyther are hers, now?" Elaine asked.
"No, that's not what it means, Elaine. Capturing allows the Pokémon Rangers to use the Pokémon's abilities when needed," Rei explained.
"What exactly are we looking for?" Chase asked.
"When I tell you, you have to keep it an absolute secret," Solana said.
"Of course," Rei said as her apprentices nodded.
"It's the mythical Pokémon Celebi," Solana said. Chase and Elaine gasped.
"Celebi? The same Celebi who's said to have the power to travel through time?" Elaine asked.
"Yeah, that's Celebi," Solana said.
"I can see why you wanted this to be a secret. It could draw all kinds of attention around here. And not all of it would be good," Sora said.
"Sora's right. The wrong kind of attention would be Pokémon Hunters who would come and hunt down Celebi and sell it to the highest bidder," Kairi said.
"And that is something we cannot have. Celebi isn't a Pokémon that's to be caught by those selfish people," Solana said.
"Thinking about it, now, I'm starting to think that's why Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple ran in here. They must have sensed Celebi in this forest," Rei said.
"But how come we didn't pick up on it?" Chase asked.
"A Pokémon's senses are different from that of humans; even than those with a Keyblade," Rei said.
"Is someone there?" A young woman's voice asked. They saw two young women caught in the thorns.
"Help us, please," another young woman said.
"How did you get caught in there?" Kairi asked.
"We were only camping here in the forest when these thorny vines came and trapped us in it," the second young woman said.
"We've been trapped here since last night," the first young woman said.
"Don't worry, we'll have you out right now," Solana said. She turned to the Scyther. "Scyther, use your Slash on those vines!" The Scyther complied and used their Slash on the thorns, cutting them loose. "Thank you, Scyther."
"Thank you," the first young woman said.
"I'm giving you a notice. This forest is now off-limits. Go now," Solana said. Not needing to be told twice, the two young women ran off, heading out of the forest.
Meanwhile, Pikachu, Angel, Volt, and Maple have made it to the source. They saw it was Celebi.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" - Maple subtitle.
"It's Celebi." - Angel subtitle.
"I didn't even think Celebi was a real Pokémon." - Volt subtitle.
"Me neither. What's wrong with it?" - Maple subtitle.
"Celebi's hurt, that's what." - Angel subtitle.
"We should go see if Celebi is alright." - Pikachu subtitle. The four Pokémon approached the Time Travel Pokémon. "Celebi, are you okay?" - Pikachu subtitle. Celebi slowly opened its eyes and sees two Pikachu and two Eevee looking back at it.
"Celebi's awake." - Angel subtitle. Celebi then passed out. "Celebi's injuries must be worst than we thought." - Angel subtitle.
"What do we do?" - Maple subtitle. Pikachu sniffed around for something to help Celebi heal.
"I think I smell some Sitrus Berries around here. I think those will help Celebi get its strength back. So I'm gonna need your help in gathering some." - Pikachu subtitle.
"One of us will have to stay behind and keep an eye on Celebi just in case we get some nasty visitors." - Angel subtitle.
"You're right, Angel. Volt, Maple, you two are with me." - Pikachu subtitle. Volt and Maple nodded. "We'll be back soon." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Just hurry back." - Angel subtitle.
She stayed behind and looked after Celebi, waiting for Pikachu, Volt, and Maple to come back.
Pikachu, Volt, and Maple found a tree containing some Siturs Berries.
"There's the Siturs Berry tree." - Volt subtitle.
"Now, we can get some for Celebi." - Maple subtitle.
"Climb up and grab as much as you can." - Pikachu subtitle.
With that said, Pikachu, Volt, and Maple climbed up the tree and grabbed some fresh Sitrus Berries and placed them on a large leaf. Once they had plenty, the three Pokémon left the tree and went off to the direction they came and back to Celebi.
"We're back." - Volt subtitle.
"How's the patient?" - Maple subtitle.
"The same." - Angel said.
"Now, to give the Sitrus Berries to Celebi." - Pikachu said. He approached Celebi. "Wake up, Celebi." - Pikachu subtitle. Celebi slowly opened its eyes and saw Pikachu and the others with Sitrus Berries. "Here. Eat this. It'll recover your strength." - Pikachu subtitle. Celebi took a bite of the Siturs Berry and smiled.
"Thank you. That was delicious." - Celebi subtitle.
"You're welcome, Celebi." - Pikachu subtitle.
"Have as much as you want. We went out of our way to gather these for you, so you're entitled to your appetite for what you went through." - Volt subtitle. Celebi then begins to eat the Sitrus Berries.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Rei, Solana, and Plusle, they saw the thorns were even thicker, and not even Scyther's bladed arms could cut all the way through.
"Thank you again, Scyther. You've been a big help," Solana said. The Scyther nodded and flew back to their homes.
"Now, how are we gonna get through these?" Sora asked.
"These thorns are even thicker," Kairi said.
"We do another Pokémon Capture," Solana said, using her Capture Styler to scan for wild Pokémon in the area. Just then, a Diglett and a Dugtrio emerged from the earth.
"A Diglett and a Dugtrio," Elaine said.
"These are perfect," Solana said. She readies her Capture Styler to capture the Diglett and Dugtrio. She does what she did with the Scyther until Diglett and Dugtrio ends up being captured by Solana. "Capture complete. Plusle, Helping Hand!" Plusle uses Helping Hand on the Mole Pokémon. "Use Dig to dig a hole!" Diglett and Dugtrio used Dig to create a massive hole for everyone to get through.
"This works out for us. We can use that hole as a shortcut to find Celebi," Rei said.
Back with Pikachu, Angel, Volt, Maple, and Celebi, they decided to make Celebi laugh and smile with Pikachu using his ability to imitate other Pokémon. This made Celebi laugh as it did Volt and Maple. Their laughter was cut short when Diglet and Dugtrio submerged from the other side. Solana and Plusle were the first to show up.
"Plusle," Plusle said.
"There you are, Celebi," Solana said. Volt and Maple were ready to attack, thinking she was a Pokémon Hunter, but Angel stopped them.
"It's okay. She's a good guy." - Angel subtitle.
Sora, Kairi, Chase, and Elaine came out of the hole behind the Pokémon Ranger.
"Pikachu!" Sora said.
"Angel!" Kairi said.
"Maple!" Elaine said.
"Volt!" Chase said.
The Pokémon embraced their partners.
"I'm glad you're safe. You gave us quite a scare," Elaine said.
"Look. It's a Celebi," Kairi said.
"So cool," Chase said, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Celebi, the Time Travel Pokémon
Type: Grass/ Psychic
Celebi has the power to travel through time as the guardian of the forest. Wherever it appears, trees and grass flourish.
Celebi was scared of the human beings, but Solana approached Celebi.
"It's okay, Celebi. You're among friends," Solana said.
"She's right. Pikachu and the others helped you out, so let us help you," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, letting Celebi know they can be trusted. Celebi looked at them and it felt their intent from them, knowing it was safe.
That night, the group decided to camp near Celebi to make sure the Time Travel Pokémon was safe and sound. Solana was analyzing Celebi. Everything about Celebi appears to be normal.
"Celebi just needs a goodnight sleep and it'll be just fine," Solana said.
"That's great to know," Rei said.
"I never would have imagined of a Pokémon that could travel through time," Chase said.
"Well, Pokémon are awesome creatures. And Celebi is no exception to that rule," Sora said.
"Since Celebi can go back to the past and future, you ever had an experience with that?" Chase asked.
"We did. It was back in the Johto region when we were taking the GS Ball to Kurt when neither Professor Oak or Professor Ivy were able to figure out how to open it," Kairi said.
"We were shocked when Celebi just bursts out as soon as we took it to that shrine in the Ilex Forest. We then get a taste of Celebi's power when we go back in time," Sora said.
"So cool," Elaine said.
"Well, there was one that actually brought someone from the past to the present. So, this one could be from a different timeline," Sora said.
"Most likely. Celebi must have been getting out of some sort of trouble and got injured in the process," Solana said.
"That could explain all these thorns. Celebi must have put these up as a way to protect itself while it was healing," Rei said.
"That is also very likely," Solana said.
Everyone then went to sleep. When the sun was shining down on them, Celebi lets out a cry, letting them know Celebi is alright. Everyone woke up and saw Celebi is doing just fine.
"Celebi's okay," Chase said.
"I guess all that sleep did the trick," Kairi said.
"It sure did," Sora agreed.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Celebi flew around and made all of the thorns disappear, knowing there was no longer any need for them.
"Celebi doesn't need them anymore," Sora said.
"And that means, Celebi can now go back whenever it wants to, right?" Kairi asked.
"It does," Rei said.
With that said, Celebi gave off a green glow and disappeared into the green light that followed.
"You think Celebi is back in its own timeline?" Chase asked.
"Yeah. Most likely wherever home is," Sora said. Solana took out her communicator to make contact.
"Solana to Pokémon Ranger HQ. Mission accomplished. Celebi is back home," Solana said.
Now that everything is set right again, Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Rei, and the Pokémon went out of the forest and they rented bikes to gain access to the Cycling Road. Now, the path to Porta Vista is clear as Kairi's next Pokémon Contest is beyond the road.
