Episode 338: Sora and Meltan

After saving Cleffa from the grasp of a Pokémon Hunter with the help of wild Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefable, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple have ventured through Mount Moon. Along the way, Chase and Elaine have caught some Geodude, Paras, Zubat, and some Onix.

After making their way through Mount Moon, they arrived to Cerulean City.

"Since we're here in Cerulean City, I'm wondering how Misty's doing," Kairi said.

"Eevee," Angel said.

"Huh? Who's Misty?" Chase asked.

"Misty is the Gym Leader here in Cerulean City," Sora said.

"How many Gym Leaders have you met so far?" Chase asked.

"Well, just the ones we met in Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, counting Brock and Hayner, too," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"You think she might be in the Pokémon Stadium Cup, too?" Xion asked.

"After seeing her in the Whirl Cup, anything's possible," Kairi said.

"In fact, the Whirl Cup was the last time we saw her," Sora said.

"I think we should head for the Pokémon Center for a while. Just to rest our Pokémon," Roxas suggested.

"Pikachu," Xipak said.

"Good idea. That's what we'll do," Sora said.

With that said, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple started to head for the Pokémon Center.

Inside of Sora's backpack, Meltan was sleeping soundly, using a sock as a blanket.

Meanwhile, a small group of Meltan were wondering the streets of Pallet Town and they managed to make their way to Kairi's house. One of the Meltan peeked inside through the window and saw Yuta with a large tool box. Eyeing the metal tools inside, it happily squeaked. The rest of the Meltan came to the window and peeked inside. The glitter of the metal tools made their nonexistent mouthes water. It was clear that they wanted those tools.

They managed to squeezed their way through underneath the front door and they began to make their way toward the tool box. Unknown to the tiny Pokémon, Seth was playing with his baby toys when he spotted them. Curious, he crawled over to the little Pokémon. Seeing the shadow hovering over them, the Meltan slowly turned around. The baby smiled at them, but the Meltan shrieked and they scattered all around. Seth laughed, finding their little sounds funny. The Meltan hid in different places of the living room. Seth crawls over towards the couch. The Meltan under the couch shivered with fright as the baby comes closer. Seth peeked underneath and attempts to grab the Meltan underneath, but he's picked up, much to the tiny Pokémon's relief. It was Mirei who picked him up.

"No, no, no. We sit on the couch, not go under it," Mirei said. The scared Meltan crawled out of the couch. She carried the baby to the kitchen as the Meltan sees the tool box closes.

"Well, better get to work," Yuta said.

"I hope get that door fixed. That creaking has been driving me crazy for days," Mirei said.

"Don't worry, my reason for living. Just know you're handy man is on the case," Yuta proudly said. With that said, he whistled happily as the Meltan were eyeing his tool box. They started to follow him after he walked by him. Once he's outside, he begins to work on the door, unaware of the Meltan taking advantage of the opened tool box and started eating the metal tools. He placed his screw driver in the tool box, but the Meltan began eating the screwdriver. Yuta turned to shit his tool box, he saw the Meltan eating all of his tools. "What in the world?!" The Meltan yelped and they fled inside the house. "Hey!"

Hearing her husband's voice, Mirei saw the Meltan scatter around the house. Seth laughed when they ran around.

"Are these Pokémon?" Mirei asked.

"Those little things ate all my tools!" Yuta exclaimed.

"Ate your tools?" Mirei asked.

"Yeah, that's right. I caught them with their fingers in the cookie jar," Yuta said. He took out a Pokéball and opened it. "Come out, Magneton!" His Pokéball opened and his Megneton came out. Okay, Magneton! Use your magnetism to pull out anything metal!" Megneton compiled with Yuta and wiggles its magnets and some of the Meltan started to come flying out and onto the megnets. "Thought they were Steel-type Pokémon."

"They're so tiny," Mirei said.

"Let's put these where they can't get out. Something non-metal," Yuta suggested.

"Maybe my laundry basket," Mirei suggested.

"Good idea. Magneton, let them go," Yuta said. Magneton lets the Meltan fall to the ground and Mirei puts her laundry basket over them.

"Don't be scared. We won't hurt you," Mirei said. Seth happily reached for the Meltan.

"This is only some of the Pokémon that ate my tools. Magneton and I will be looking for the rest of them," Yuta said. He and the Magnet Pokémon looked around and spotted them looking at the Ribbon Cup. Knowing the Meltan were about to get to it, he got between them. "No, you don't! My daughter's Ribbon isn't on the menu!" The Meltan jumped towards Yuta, but Magneton uses its magnetism to pull the remaining Meltan and they grafted on its magnets. "Gotcha." Magneton releases the Meltan and they were led to the others. Yuta and Mirei examined the tiny Meltan, amazed.

"My goodness. What kind of Pokémon are they?" Mirei asked.

"I know I've seen one of these before, but where did I see one of whatever they are?" Yuta asked. He walked over to his bookshelf and he searches for the information. "Okay, let's see what you are." He looked through the pages until he found the pages matching the Pokémon they're looking at. "Here we are. I thought so. These are Meltan."

"Meltan? I never heard of such a Pokémon," Mirei said.

"I didn't think they were even real since Meltan are mythical Pokémon. I got to say, they're smaller than I thought," Yuta said. He reads the page to get the information on them. "According to this, Meltan's diet exclusively consisted of metal. They eat only metal."

"Is that so?" Mirei asked. She stepped into the kitchen and she took out an old pan. She placed it down in front of them. "Here you go, little ones. You must be hungry." The Meltan begins to devour the pan. She giggled to herself, watching them enjoy the pan. "That's one theory proven. And it's too bad they cause so much trouble, because they're pretty cute." The Meltan gathered around Mirei and they beamed.

"Look at that. They seem to like you," Yuta said.

"You think so?" Mirei asked.

"I know so, hun. I wonder how Professor Oak would react in seeing them," Yuta said.

"Me too," Mirei said.

Back at Cerulean City, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple arrived to the Pokémon Center and they checked in a room. Sora was taking some things out of his backpack when he felt something smooth.

"Huh?" Sora asked. He pulled it out. "What is this?" Sora was puzzled.

"What's what?" Kairi asked. She saw Sora holding Meltan, thinking it was something else. "Sora, since when were you collecting junk?"

"I don't remember collecting this," Sora said. Roxas, Xion, Chase, and Elaine noticed it, too. They gathered around it.

"Hey, what's that dangling at the bottom?" Roxas asked, poking Meltan's body. "It feels squishy."

"Let me feel," Chase said, poking Meltan's body. "It does feel squishy."

"Look at this red thing," Elaine said, pulling on Meltan's wire-like tail. "It looks like a wire."

"What's that black ball in the middle?" Xion asked, touching Meltan's eye. "I can feel it being pulled in."

"Yeah, it looks like an eye," Roxas said.

Irritated, Meltan shrieked and fired Flash Cannon, alarming the group. Sora gave Meltan a toss.

"Did it just use Flash Cannon?!" Sora exclaimed.

"You don't think it's-" Roxas paused.

"A Pokémon!" Elaine said. Meltan tried to flee, but Pikachu, Xipak, and Volt surrounded it. Meltan felt cornered.

"What kind of Pokémon is it?" Xion asked.

"I don't think I ever seen this kind of Pokémon before," Kairi said.

"Let's see," Sora said, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Meltan, the Hex Nut Pokémon

Type: Steel

It melts and devours all sorts of metals for food. Circulating liquid metal within its body is how it generates energy.

"So this Pokémon is called Meltan," Sora said.

"Meltan?" Roxas asked.

"It's so small," Chase said.

"I think it attacked because we were poking and pulling on it," Xion said.

"That makes sense. But what was it doing in my backpack?" Sora asked.

"Pika?" Pikachu asked.

"I think Meltan was looking for a place to sleep," Xion guessed.

"Pika," Xipak said, giving Roxas a look.

"Don't look at me like that, Xipak. You're very well thinking that just as I am," Roxas said.

"Pikachu," Xipak said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Whatever the case, I think Meltan might be hungry," Kairi said, taking out an Oran Berry and offered it to the Hex Nut Pokémon. "Here, Meltan. Here. A juicy Oran Berry just for you." Meltan looked at the berry, but it was uninterested in the berry. "It doesn't want the berry."

"Hey, I thought you would tell if a Pokémon is a boy or a girl," Elaine pointed out.

"I can. And I don't think Meltan is neither one," Kairi said.

"Let's try something else," Roxas said, getting an idea. He stepped out of the room. A few minutes later, Roxas came back with a bar of sea salt ice cream. "Here. Try this." Meltan just snuffed the ice cream treat, much to Roxas's dismay. "Aw, man. I thought it was for sure." Meltan eyes Sora's necklace and it sparkled. Meltan shrieked and it started to rush for Sora, surprising him.

"Hey, what's gotten you so worked up?" Sora asked. Meltan started to make its way up Sora and to his necklace. Sora's protective instincts kicked in and he quickly took it off. "Not my necklace!" Meltan heads for the hand holding the necklace and he switches hands with it. Meltan darts back and forth for the necklace. "No! Not my necklace! You're not getting my necklace!"

"What's with Meltan?" Xion asked.

"I don't know," Elaine said. Kairi then remembered what the Rotom Phone said about Meltan.

"Wait a minute! I think I know why Meltan is interested in Sora's necklace," Kairi said.

"Really? Why?" Chase asked.

"Remember what Sora's Rotom Phone said about Meltan? It said it eats metal. It's interested in Sora's necklace because it wants to eat it," Kairi said.

"Of course. Why didn't I think of it sooner?" Roxas asked. He took out a soda can. "Good thing I didn't throw this away yet." Xion looked at her boyfriend. "What? I didn't want to litter, so I couldn't find a trash can." He whistled. "Meltan, look!" Hearing Roxas's voice, Meltan turned to look at him and eyed the soda can. Meltan jumped off of Sora and climbed up Roxas to the can. "Eat this. Doesn't it look even more tastier than some necklace?" Meltan begins eating the can, much to its delight.

"Thanks, bro," Sora said.

"Anything for my brother," Roxas said.

"Good thinking for that can, Roxas," Chase said.

"Pikachu," Volt said.

"Thanks," Roxas said.

"So, what do you think we should do?" Xion asked.

"I think we should make contact with Professor Oak and hear what he knows about Meltan," Kairi said.

"Might as well," Sora said, taking out his Rotom Phone and started to make contact with Professor Oak.

Speaking of which, Yuta had arrived to Professor Oak with the Meltan in the laundry basket. Professor Oak and Tracey were awestruck by what they were seeing.

"My, my. Meltan. I never thought I'd see some with my own eyes," Professor Oak said.

"Amazing," Tracey said.

"I thought I'd bring them and show them to you. My wife and I were very surprised when we saw them," Yuta said.

"I do not doubt it. I am curious if there are any more, because I hear there are often more than one," Professor Oak said.

"If it's alright, I'd like to have a sketch of these Meltan," Tracey requested.

"Be my guest," Yuta said. Tracey begins to draw a sketch of them.

"This is so very exciting! I don't think I can contain myself!" Tracey said, drawing.

Suddenly, Professor Oak hears the phone ringing and walked over to it to answer it. Sora's face comes to the screen.

"Ah, Sora. Good to see your face as always," Professor Oak said with a smile.

"Hey, Professor. I'm calling to let you know that we came across a Pokémon we never seen before," Sora said. This intrigued the professor.

"You don't say. Can you describe this Pokémon for me, Sora?" Professor Oak asked.

"Actually, how about I show you?" Sora suggested. He moved his Rotom Phone, showing him Meltan.

"My word! A Meltan!" Professor Oak exclaimed with delight. "How did you come across this unique Pokémon?"

"I found it in my backpack," Sora said.

"It surprised us when it fired Flash Cannon at us," Kairi said.

"Ah, I see," Professor Oak said, chuckling. "Did you see any other Meltan by any chance?"

"No, just this one," Chase said.

"We found out that it eats metal," Xion said.

"So we thought you would know something about it," Roxas said.

"Actually, he knows quite about it, and so do I," Yuta said, showing them the Hex Nut Pokémon in the basket.

"Meltan!" Sora exclaimed.

"How did you find them, dad?" Kairi asked.

"I found them eating all my tools, that's how. They would have made a feast out of your Ribbon Cup if my Magneton didn't save it in time," Yuta said.

"Well, that Meltan tried to get to my necklace to eat it," Sora said.

"Hm, this is very curious," Professor Oak said, stroking his chin. He then gets an idea. "Sora, I think I'm getting an idea."

"Yeah? What kind of idea?" Sora asked.

"I was thinking since you found that Meltan, you should be the one to catch it," Professor Oak suggested.

"Really?" Sora asked.

"Of course, my boy. I can do research on the Meltan Yuta has with me and you can keep one for yourself," Professor Oak said.

"I guess that's a great idea," Sora agreed, looking at Meltan. He then takes out a Pokéball and he threw it at Meltan. The Pokéball gets wedged in its head, making everyone do an anime-style fall. Meltan gets the Pokéball out and Sora catches it. "Okay, let's try again." He threw the Pokéball at Meltan and it hits it this time. Meltan flowed inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Meltan with him. He chose to keep Meltan in exchange for Torkoal. "Yes!" He picked up his Pokéball and smiled. "Welcome to the team, Meltan." He turned to his Rotom Phone. "Successful catch."

"Yes, and your Torkoal arrived here safely. Thanks for the opportunity, Sora," Professor Oak said.

"No problem," Sora said. "Anyway, we should go."

"Of course. I'm looking forward in hearing from you again," Professor Oak said.

"And Kairi, Xion, I'll tell your mother you said hello," Yuta said.

"Thanks, dad," Kairi and Xion said in unison. They giggled.

Sora breaks contact with Professor Oak and he took a look at his Pokéball and he opened it. Meltan came out. Meltan looked directly at Sora. He was holding his hand in front of the Hex Nut Pokémon. "Stick with me and you'll go places." Meltan looked at Sora and saw how kind he can be and nodded its head, taking one of Sora's fingers. "I thought so."

So, Cerulean City was having its own taste of the Pokémon Stadium Cup. Sora exchanged Pidgeot, Blastoise, Dragonite, Gyarados, Gengar, Sudowoodo, Quagsire, Meganium, Crobat, and Absol for Mamoswine, Scizor, Kingler, Tropius, Walrein, Poliwrath Arcanine, Lapras, Tauros, and Houndoom. Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, the Pikachu, and the Eevee saw Misty being among the Trainers.

"Sora, Kairi, hello. I haven't seen you two since the Whirl Cup," Misty greeted.

"It's been a while," Kairi said.

"It sure has," Misty agreed. She noticed some new faces with them. "So, who are your friends? And where's Tracey?" Misty asked.

"Answering your second question first, Tracey is working as Professor Oak's assistant," Sora said.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

"My name's Roxas, and this is Xipak," Roxas introduced.

"Pika, Pika," Xipak said.

"I'm Xion, and this is Celeste," Xion introduced.

"Eevee," Celeste said.

"I'm Chase and this is Volt," Chase introduced.

"Pikachu, Pika," Volt said.

"I'm Elaine, and this is Maple," Elaine introduced.

"Eevee, vee," Maple said.

"Nice to meet you," Misty said, smiling. Misty looked at Kairi and Xion. "Say, Kairi, but is Xion your sister? Because she looks so much like you, and she's got the same voice as you, too."

"Xion is actually my sister," Kairi said.

"The resemblance is uncanny," Xion joked. The girls all laughed.

"Are you taking part of the Pokémon Stadium Cup, Sora?" Misty asked.

"Yeah, I am," Sora answered. "When we do get to battle again, just don't hold back like the last time."

"I wouldn't dream of it. My reputation as a Gym Leader would sink if I did," Misty said.

Sora was placed in the west wing as Misty was placed in the east. In the east wing, Sora was up against a Trainer, wearing large coke-bottle glasses and a large orange bow tie. Sora decided to test Meltan out in battle and see how well Meltan battles. Sora managed to look over Meltan's moveset before coming. It was going to be a single battle, taking place on the City Field. The referee looked to her left and right.

"Trainers! Choose your first Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Sora and his opponent each took out a Pokéball and they threw their Pokéballs.

"Hypno, I choose you!" The Trainer called out.

"Meltan! Go!" Sora called out.

Both Pokémon came out to battle. His opponent just laughed at Meltan.

"Is that supposed to be a Pokémon or one of toys you get out of a cereal bowl?" The Trainer laughed very hard. "It don't matter what it is, because that little weakling is going to lose!"

"Don't underestimate Meltan just beacause it's small," Sora said, confidently. "Meltan! Use Flash Cannon!" Meltan fired Flash Cannon at the Hypnosis Pokémon.

"Dodge it, Hypno!" The Trainer called out. Hypno dodged Meltan's Flash Cannon.

"Okay, Meltan! Use Headbutt!" Sora ordered.

"Use Reflect!" The Trainer ordered. Hypno creates a protective wall, blocking Meltan's Headbutt. Meltan is pushed back, but spots the pendulum. "Use Hypnosis!" Hypnosis swings its pendulum around and hypnotic waves emits from the Hypnosis Pokémon.

"Don't look, Meltan!" Sora called out. Meltan darts right at Hypno. "What are you doing?" Meltan then jumps on Hypno's pendulum and grabs it. Hypno and its Trainer were very confused by what they saw. Hypno then tries to shake Meltan off, but the Hex Nut Pokémon kept on holding on. Hypno managed to shake Meltan off, but only after Meltan had eaten a piece of the pendulum, much to their dismay.

"Hypno! Your pendulum! Did that Pokémon just eat it?!" The Trainer exclaimed.

"Meltan! Use Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Meltan fired Flash Cannon on the Hypnosis Pokémon who was too busy mourning his pendulum to notice. Hypno was hit and knocked out from the attack.

"Hypno is unable to battle! Meltan wins!" The referee announced.

"Wow, you're a lot stronger than you look," Sora said, amazed. The Trainer calls his Hypno back and growled.

"How dare that little runt do that to my Hypno like that. I won't stand for it Let's see how it handles my next Pokémon," the Trainer said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Buizel! Go!" His Pokéball opened and a Buizel came out of it. This Buizel had one stripe on its back. "Buizel! Use Water Gun!" Buizel fired Water Gun at Meltan.

"Dodge it and use Thunder Shock!" Sora ordered. Meltan ran around and fired Thunder Shock at the Sea Weasel Pokémon, shocking it.

"Why you little! Buizel! Use Ice Punch on it!" The Trainer ordered. Buizel rushes at Meltan with an Ice Punch.

"Dodge it, Meltan!" Sora called out. Meltan managed to dodge from left to right. "Thunder Shock again! Turn up the juice!" Meltan manages to give Buizel a shock with Thunder Shock, dealing some heavy damage due to its weakness to Electric-type attacks. Buizel was then knocked out.

"Buizel is unable to battle! Meltan wins!" The referee announced. The Trainer called his Buizel back and he took out one more Pokéball and threw it.

"Okay, you're going in, Marowak!" The Trainer called out. His Pokéball opened and a Kantonian Marowak came out to battle. Sora took out Meltan's Pokéball and called the Hex Nut Pokémon back and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.

"Okay, Kingler! You're going in!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Kingler came out, clamping his pincers.

"A Kingler, huh? It don't matter to me! I'm going to take it down! Marowak! Use Bonmerang!" The Trainer ordered. Marowak threw its bone at the Pincer Pokémon.

"Kingler! Block that with Crabhammer!" Sora ordered. Kingler swings his large pincer with Crabhammer, blocking the bone. "Use Razor Shell!" Kingler rushes at the Bone Keeper Pokémon with Razor Shell.

"Marowak! Dodge that and use Skull Bash!" The Trainer ordered. Marowak dodges Kingler's Razor Shell by jumping. Marowak lowers its head and rushes at the crab-like Pokémon by running.

"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Kingler tried to dodge, but Marowak came too fast for Kingler to dodge it. "You okay, Kingler?" Kingler nodded in response.

"Use Bone Rush!" The Trainer ordered.

"Use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Kingler uses his large pincer to block Marowak's bone, clashing at one another. "Okay, use Bubble Beam!" Kingler fired Bubble Beam at the Bone Keeper Pokémon. It deals some heavy damage due to how close Marowak is to Kingler. "Finish Marowak with Crabhammer!" Kingler swings his pincer and struck Marowak with it. Marowak was knocked out.

"Marowak is unable to battle! Kingler wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.

"Great job, Kingler!" Sora said. Kingler beamed from Sora's praise. Sora's opponent called his Marowak back and sighed.

"If losing to that Kingler wasn't bad enough, but my Hypno and Buizel lost to some little runt of a Pokémon!" The Trainer said.

Over to Misty, she managed to win her battles, mainly using her Staryu, Starmie, and some other Water-type Pokémon she has under her belt. Sora used Pikachu and the others during the match. Sora had his Walrein finish off a Kadabra with Ice Beam.

It was now time for Sora and Misty's battle. It was a rematch they were looking forward to. It was going to be a triple battle on the Water Field.

"Round three, right?" Sora asked.

"Round three, Sora. I've been waiting for this," Misty said.

"Trainers! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee called out. Sora and Misty each took out three of her Pokéballs and threw them.

"Here are my three Pokémon! Misty calls: Staryu, Starmie, and Golduck!" Misty called out. Her three Pokémon came out to battle.

"Go! Kingler, Walrein, and Lapras!" Sora called out. His Pokéballs opened and his three Pokémon came out to battle.

"An all water battle, huh? You never disappoint me," Misty said, smiling.

"Ladies first," Sora said.

"Golduck! Use Fury Swipes on Walrein! Staryu! Use Rapid Spin on Kingler! Starmie! Use Hydro Pump Lapras!" Misty ordered.

"Lapras! Use Surf!" Sora ordered. Lapras uses the water and she guides it right at Staryu, Starmie, and Golduck.

"Golduck! Use Psychic!" Misty ordered. Golduck uses Psychic on the water, stopping Lapras's attack in its tracks. Golduck then spreads the water apart.

"Walrein! Ice Beam on Golduck!" Sora ordered. Walrein fires Ice Beam at the Duck Pokémon, hitting it on the mark. "Body Slam!" Walrein jumped and lands right on Golduck.

"Starmie! Use Power Gem on Walrein!" Misty ordered. Starmie fired Power Gem from its core and hits Walrein, forcing him off Golduck. "Staryu! Use Water Pulse on Kingler!"

"Kingler! Dodge and use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Kingler dodged Staryu's Water Pulse and swam across the water to get to the Star Shape Pokémon. Kingler gave Staryu a slash with Metal Claw. "Use Crabhammer!" Kingler lands a Crabhammer on Staryu, knocking it out.

"Staryu is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Misty calls back her Staryu and she smiled.

"Have yourself a good long rest, Staryu. You earned it," Misty kindly said. "That was great, Sora, but here's something more for you. Golduck! Use Psychic on Kingler!" Golduck uses Psychic on Kingler and lifts him up. Golduck then slammed Kingler down, knocking him out.

"Kingler is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora calls Kingler back.

"You battled hard. Rest up," Sora said. "Okay, Walrein! Use Ice Fang on Starmie! Lapras! Use Ice Beam on Golduck!" Walrein rushes at Starmie with Ice Fang and Lapras fired Ice Beam at Golduck.

"Psychic!" Misty ordered. Starmie and Golduck uses Psychic to block Lapras's Ice Beam, but Starmie was opened for Walrein's attack. Walrein lands an icy bite on Starmie, leaving a piece of ice on it.

"Great job!" Sora said.

"Starmie! Power Gem! Golduck! Fury Swipes on Walrein!" Misty ordered. Starmie fired Power Gem at Walrein.

"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Walrein dove underwater to avoid Starmie's Power Gem, but Golduck jumped in the water and gave Starmie some slashes with Fury Swipes.

"Use Psychic!" Misty ordered. Golduck unleashed Psychic and lands a hit onto Walrein, knocking him out.

"Walrein is unable to battle!" The referee announced. Sora calls Walrein back.

"It's all up to you, Lapras," Sora said. Lapras squeaked.

"Power Gem again, Starmie! Golduck! Use Fury Swipes!" Misty ordered.

"Lapras! Dodge it!" Sora called out. Lapras avoids Starmie and Golduck's attacks. "Use Ice Beam on Starmie!" Lapras fired Ice Beam on the Mysterious Pokémon. "Okay, Lapras! Use Surf!" Lapras uses Surf once again. Misty scoffed.

"Trying that again? Did you forget who's the Gym Leader who specializes with Water-type Pokémon? I sure haven't! Psychic on the water!" Misty ordered. Golduck uses Psychic on the water, stopping Lapras's Surf again.

"Go under!" Sora called out. Lapras dove underwater.

"Go after Lapras!" Misty called out. Starmie and Golduck went after Lapras underneath the water.

"Use Freeze-Dry!" Sora ordered. Lapras unleashed Freeze-Dry underwater, hitting Starmie and Golduck, dealing some heavy damage, much to Misty's dismay. Starmie and Golduck are extremely cold from the attack. "Now, use Surf!" Lapras uses Surf whips up anothef Surf.

"Use Psychic!" Misty ordered. Starmie and Golduck are too cold from Freeze-Dry to do anything about it. Starmie and Golduck are taken by the water and they hit the wall, knocked out.

"Starmie and Golduck are both unable to battle! Lapras wins! The winner is Sora from Pallet Town!" The referee announced.

"Great job, Lapras!" Sora said. Lapras squeaked as she nuzzled him.

After the Pokémon Stadium Cup tournament for the day had concluded, Misty stood before Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple.

"Congratulations for your victory, Sora. You're a whole lot better than you were back at the Whirl Cup," Misty said.

"Thanks, Misty. You were awesome, too. And you would have had me in that battle," Sora said.

"Yeah, I would have, but it was your quick thinking that got you your victory," Misty said.

"How nice of you to say," Sora said.

"Roxas, Xion, Elaine, Chase, it was great meeting you. And Kairi, good luck in your Pokémon Contests. I'll be rooting for you," Misty said.

"Thanks, Misty," Kairi said.

"She won't need luck," Roxas said.

"I don't doubt it; especially after she won the Hoenn Grand Festival," Misty said. She looked at Sora. "Anyway, Sora, I'll be looking forward to our next battle, so I want you to be ready for me next time."

"You do the same thing," Sora said.

Both Sora and Misty sealed the deal with a hardy handshake, promising each other a good battle. They said their goodbyes to the Cerulean City Gym Leader and headed off for their next adventure.

Meanwhile, there is a Bulbasaur, a Charmander, and a Squirtle living together outside of Cerulean City, but they were different. Bulbasaur has dark green marking on its legs, body, and close to its eyes. Charmander has dark red stripes on its back, arms, legs, tail, face, and head. And Squirtle has viridian marking on its head and unique markings on its shell.

Wonder what role would they play in the next chapter? We'll keep reading if you wanna find out.
