Chapter 225: Tartaros Makes Their Move!
Walking into the guildhall, Dante could tell that the news of recent events had already spread thought the guild. The usual cheerful chatter was replaced with quiet conversations as everyone wondered what this could mean. Taking a moment to scan the guildhall for Markov, Dante located the sort and old man and walked towards him. Stopping in front of Markov, Dante started to speak.
"Master did you hear about the magic council" asked Dante in a serious tone. Nodding his head, Markov started to speak.

"I can't think of anyone else that would be able to pull such a thing off" responded Sorano in a worried tone. Nodding his head, Dante turned his attention towards Ultear who was standing behind the bar close to them.
"What about you Ultear? You used to be in Grimoire Heart, do you know anything about Tartaros" asked Dante in a hopeful tone that Ultear would have some answers. Shaking her head with a frown, Ultear started to speak.
"I'm sorry I don't know much about them. While Tartaros was in an alliance with Grimoire heart, we never learned anything about them" responded Ultear in a worried tone.
"It was the same in the Oracion Sies. Tartaros was always a mystery. The only thing I know of them is that Brain was terrified of them and forbade us from getting in their way if we should have ever crossed paths" stated Sorano, confirming that despite being a former member of a dark guild that she and Ultear knew next to nothing about Tartaros.
"That is concerning, I don't like being in the dark about these sort of things" responded Markov in a worried tone. Dante nodded his head in agreement as he started to speak.
"Why would they attack the magic council though? What do they hope to achieve" asked Dante in a curious tone thinking what was the point in killing the magic council. If Tartaros could pull something like killing the entire magic council off then why didn't they go after the king and princess instead?
"It's possible that this was just their first move, something off a first strike" responded Markov.
"That was their first strike? Why would that be the magic council" asked Dante as he came to a realization. Swearing to himself, Dante continued to speak.
"Wait if the council is dead then that means no eutherian blast" stated Dante in a worried tone as he realized the most powerful weapon the kingdom had was taken out in one strike. If that was Tartous's goal, then what the hell were they planning?
"Yes without the magic council an eutherian blast cannot be fired. I fear that whatever Tartarus might be planning must be huge if they first move is the take the eutherian blast out of the equation" responded Markov in a serious tone. A moment of silence followed before Ultear started to speak.
"There is one thing I know about Tartous, but it doesn't shed any light on your questions" stated Ultear. Dante, Markov and Sorano turned their attention towards Ultear as Dante started to speak.
"What is it Ultear" asked Dante almost afraid of the answer. Giving Dante a serious look, Ultear started to speak.
"I don't know if this is true or not, but I remember Hades telling me once that every member of Tartous is a demon from the books of Zeref" responded Ultear. Hearing these words Dante swore to himself. The situation was bad already without Zeref being somehow involved. If Tartous was being led by Zeref then this situation just got a whole lot worse.
"Damn I really hope that isn't true" responded Dante in a worried tone. Taking a moment to let out a breath, Markov started to speak.
"Regardless of if it is true or not, I will not allow any of you to do anything at this moment. We cannot make a move until we have more information" responded Markov in a serious tone that told Dante and the others that there was no room for argument. Seeing that for once his children weren't going to fight him about being reckless, Markov looked at Dante as he continued to speak.
"I'll call a meeting with the other Wizard Saints. Hopefully we can sort out this mess. With the magic council dead, the government is in tatters, it might fall to the Wizard Saints to clean up this mess" stated Markov in a serious tone as Dante nodded his head in understanding and started to speak.
"Right, let me know master when you know more. Until then I'll help make sure everyone here doesn't do anything stupid" responded Dante understanding the role he had to play. Markov gave Dante a grateful smile as he started to speak.
"That is appreciated my boy" responded Markov with a slight smile. Shortly after Markov said this he walked away towards his office, likely to send out a message to the other Wizard Saints. Now that Dante was alone with Sorano and Ultear, he sighed with exhaustion as he started to speak.
"I really hope this turns out to be nothing" stated Dante hoping that the feeling of dread filling him was just his imagination. Giving her master a concerned look, Sorano started to speak.
"I'm sorry I didn't know more about Tartarus master" responded Sorano in a guilty tone. Dante turned his attention towards Sorano and smiled kindly at her as he started to speak.
"Don't be sorry Sorano. It doesn't matter in the end. Just remember that we can get through anything if we believe in each other" responded Dante in a warm tone. While Dante was worried about the potential threat, he knew showing his concern wouldn't help anyone's nerves. Like it or not, no matter how much Dante wanted to fight against the idea, he could not deny that he had become a leader in the guild. People in the guild looked to Dante for leadership, him being nervous would just make everyone else nervous.
"Ultear is anyone in the guild out of town at the moment" asked Dante as he scanned the guild hall for everyone. Doing a quick head count Dante gathered that most of the guild members were in the guild hall.
"Mostly everyone is in town right now master. The only members I can think of that are out right now is Laxus and the Thunder Legion" responded Ultear after taking a moment to consider her answer. Nodding his head in understanding, Dante started to speak.
"That's right. I remember now Evergreen telling me something about a job she was going on with the rest of her team. It's just a simple server job right" asked Dante in a concerned tone. Ultear nodded her head as she started to speak.
"Yes, as I recall they are helping a former magic council member with his restaurant" responded Ultear. Letting out a sigh of relief, Dante started to speak.
"That's a relief. Their chance of running into any trouble is low with that sort of job. Besides they do have Laxus with them and he can handle just about anything" responded Dante saying these words to mostly reassure himself. While he knew that Laxus and the Thunder Legion were some of the best Fairy Tail had, Dante could not shake the awful feeling that he had. Despite his awful feeling, Dante knew that nothing was going to be changed by worrying about it.
"For now, we should put this out of our minds you two. Who knows? Maybe nothing will come of this. It's possible the magic council was just a freak accident" stated Dante in a hopeful tone. Sorano and Ultear gave Dante unsure looks but nodded their heads in understanding as Dante continued to speak.
"Just treat this day like any other for now. I'll see you two later" stated Dante with a smile before he kissed Sorano and Ultear goodbye for now. Walking around the guildhall, Dante spent some time with everyone. He made sure to raise their spirits, telling them that there was no need to worry about something they knew nothing about. Soon Dante smiled as he watched some of the usual cheerful life come back to Fairy Tail. As Dante watched his Fairy Tail family start to go back to business as usual, he hoped that he hadn't just lied to everyone.
"Be honest with me man, do you really think this is nothing" asked Gray as he sat down next to Dante. A few hours had passed, and Dante was now sitting down for some lunch. Turning his attention away from his meal and towards Gray, Dante started to speak.
"It's a possibility" responded Dante with a smile. In response Gray gave Dante a look that told him he wasn't buying it. Sighing as he put down his fork, Dante continued to speak.
"If you want my honest opinion, I can't shake this awful feeling that something big is about to go down. You can't tell anyone that Gray, I don't want a panic to happen" responded Dante in a serious tone. Gray smiled back at Dante as he started to speak.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Honestly I feel better now that I know you aren't just being a hopeful idiot" responded Gray with a smile. Laughing lightly at these words, Dante started to speak.
