Chapter 6: The First Step

I DON'T OWN ANKOKU KISHI MONOGATARI OR KAMEN RIDER, AND THEY BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS.

"Kuro-chan?"

"Yes?"

A couple was resting under a tree in a park, with the young man's head resting on his girlfriend's lap. It had been a hectic week for him: a title fight, bills to pay, and now his beloved girl had a rare condition that probably stemmed from the Skywall.

"Is something bothering you lately? You've been spaced out a lot lately," Kasumi asked.

"Well… I've just been thinking about some things. But don't worry about it," Kuroki replied, trying to cheer up his girlfriend.

"... Thank you, Kuroki."

"Hm? What for?"

"For making me happy."

"Huh? Is there something wrong, Kasumi?" Kuroki was starting to get worried about his girlfriend's replies.

Kasumi just smiled and held Kuroki's cheek.

"Time to wake up now."

Kuroki opened his eyes and found himself staring at the ceiling.

"That dream again, huh." Kuroki then touched his cheek and felt what seemed like a teardrop on his face.

"Kasumi…"

Kuroki was now ready to go on a journey. He wanted to investigate the Hero's party's condition and assess the situation. Fortunately, the Lhougas, whom he confided in about his plan, also saw it as finishing the job that was left unfinished.

Yesterday, Kuroki studied magic with Lhougas, who was the most versed in the arcane arts in Nargol. There, they discovered that while Kuroki could use black-colored flames, he couldn't use other types of elements or even a simple fire spell. Also, spirit magic was out of the question, as the spirits that he tried to use seemed to run away from him the instant he summoned them.

"Sorry, Modes, for hearing this selfish request of mine. I hope you can understand," Kuroki apologized as he told Modes his plan to investigate the Hero's party.

"No need to apologize, Kuroki-dono! I am quite surprised that you are volunteering to scout their movements, which was supposed to be our job!" Modes assured.

"Nah, don't mind it. You've treated me very well. I suppose this is just a small favor for you," Kuroki replied.

Lhougas then approached Kuroki. "Oh, Kuroki-dono, since you are quite unfamiliar in this world, I would like to introduce you to a reliable guide, Nut!"

A small red-furred rat-squirrel appeared in the room and stopped at Kuroki's feet, introducing itself.

"Nice to meet you, Kuroki-sama! I am Nut!"

Lhougas then explained further. "Nut is a fire rat. He has an excellent sense of direction and is extremely competent in gathering intel. Please take him on your journey."

"Hello there, Nut. I am Ryuuga Kuroki. Nice to meet you."

"...Ehhhh, Kuroki-sama, you're so nice! I guess those rumors that you're scary aren't true after all!"

"Scary? Who? What? Me?"

"Yes?"

"That's not true."

"Liar!" Everyone in the room screamed in their heads except for Modes.

"Hey, Lhougas, thank you for providing me with some supplies and a guide. It's more than enough for this journey," Kuroki thanked Lhougas.

"Oh, this is nothing, Kuroki-sama. In fact, it's nothing compared to what you have done for us."

"Hey Lhougas, thank you for providing me with some supplies and a guide. It's more than enough for this journey," Kuroki thanked Lhougas.

"Oh, this is nothing, Kuroki-sama. In fact, it's nothing compared to what you have done for us."

"Kuroki-dono, I bid you to be careful. Once you are outside the boundaries of my territory, you are not under my protection anymore. Though, honestly, I am confident that you can beat anyone out there. You can use the teleportation stone that I gave you if you are really in a pinch," Modes warned his friend.

"Thanks, Modes. Well, gotta go now. Be careful here."

With that, Kuroki left the palace.

"Well, this isn't my first time flying, but riding like this sure is nice too," Kuroki quipped.

"Oh, is that so, Kuroki-sama? Do you have wyverns too in your world?" A young rune knight named Gned asked while they were flying down the mountain with a wyvern.

"Ah, we don't have wyverns. We have these steel vehicles called 'airplanes' that can do the same thing, although they don't have much freedom when flying."

"Ohhhh... is that so. Wait, THEY FOUND US!" Gned immediately picked up his pace and started to take evasive maneuvers as the patrolling angels guarding the airspace outside of Nargol started to fire arrows at them.

"Gned, I will drive them off. I will take it from here!" Kuroki jumped off the wyvern and recited a spell that he learned from Lhougas: a flight spell. Kuroki was floating in the air and stood in front of the approaching angels.

"Nut, hold tight. This might knock me back for a bit."

"What are you planning, Kuroki-sama!?"

Kuroki didn't reply but instead stretched out his hand. A dark portal opened in front of him, and Kuroki reached inside and grabbed…

"TRANSBLAZE GUN!"

Kuroki aimed the Transblaze gun at the incoming arrows and shot them off one by one. The angels were surprised and horrified that their projectiles were erased. Taking their surprise as an opportunity, Kuroki inserted the Dragon Fullbottle into the slot.

"DRAGON!"

Kuroki aimed the gun at the angels and pulled the trigger.

"BLAZE BREAK! DRAGON!"

The Transblaze gun fired a black-colored flame in the shape of a dragon's head towards the angels. Its recoil was strong enough to knock back Kuroki. The dragon's head opened its mouth, and the angels were terrified as they scrambled to evade.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?"

"A black flame…by Oudis name, that must be Runfield! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"

The angels scrambled and turned back, running away from the draconic fire.

"Wow…"

Nut and Gned were awed by Kuroki's weapon and power while Kuroki floated towards Gned.

"I managed to drive the angels away. Lead the way, Gned. I will be on the lookout."

"Sure, Kuroki-dono."

"..."

"..."

"...So you're saying that our muscle idiot is spirited away, Sento?" A brown-haired man wearing a heavy parka confirmed the info to the other man whose appearance was unkempt.

"Yeah. It happened so fast, Kazumin. We were just cleaning up after we attacked a Downfall base, but suddenly, a bright light and a circle of some sort appeared on Kuroki's feet, and then he disappeared!"

"Do you think Evolto had a hand in this?" A woman wearing a simple dress and jacket beside Kazumin asked.

"Nope, I didn't detect any abnormal Hazard level in the area. Besides, Evolto did say that he won't mess with us for a while."

"Then Misora, Evolto is crossed out on our list." Another formally dressed woman named Sawa confirmed.

"...Hmmm."

"Oi Beardo, you seem kinda spaced out for a while." Kazumin tapped another man wearing a black leather jacket.

"This scenario is kinda familiar." Beardo, or better yet, Gentoku, voiced out his thoughts.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, you see, I am reading in my spare time if I am not busy or thinking of a new fashion. What's with the stare, Misora? Are you jealous? Well, back to the topic, I am reading these 'Summoned to Another World' stories. You know, people being hit by trucks, getting killed, or just plain kidnapped by some magic circles then they are transferred into a world of magic with some beautiful princess asking for the help of the hero they called.. Based on what Sento said, do you think that he was summoned to another world?" Gentoku wondered.

"What the fuck, Beardo? Are you high or something? Like that could possibly happen! Magic sounds like bullshit!" Kazumin retorted.

"Yeah, tell that to the Sword of Logos people or Wizard himself, Potato."

"...Ok, you win this time."

Sento suddenly stood up. "Hey, that could work!"

"Eh?"

"As much as I am a smart, brilliant, and handsome scientist myself, magic is really out of my expertise. Gen-san might be right on this one despite his sucky tastes in fashion and literature-"

"Oi."

"Deal with it. As I was saying, maybe Kuroki's disappearance could be caused by magic. So in that case, why don't we go to people who know how to do magic!" Sento happily declared.

"Wizard?" Sawa asked.

"Nope, he was too elusive, but I know someone else, though."

"Who?"

"Done," the man happily exclaimed as he raised his manuscript. His editor had been bugging him for a while to submit another story they could publish. Despite the tight competition against new writers, his stories were highly regarded for not being like those "summoned to another world" stories that are rampant today. But he didn't mind; in fact, he was happy that there were still people who let their imagination run free through writing and creating stories.

Knock Knock

"Oh, that must be Mei."

Touma Kamiyama stood up and opened the door of his shop. Instead of Mei, a group of people composed of three men and two women appeared.

"Uhmm, hi. How may I help you? My shop is still closed though."

The man wearing a long coat asked, "Are you Touma Kamiyama or, better yet, Kamen Rider Saber?"

"Huh? How did you know that?" Touma was surprised, as only a few people knew his identity as Saber.

"Well, I am Sento Kiryuu, or you can call me Kamen Rider Build, and those two are Rogue and Grease."

"What's with the lame introduction?" Gentoku and Kazumi roared out.

"Uhm… OK? So, Build-senpai, what can I help you with?"

"Our muscle idiot probably got summoned to another world. We need your help."

Touma was speechless for a bit and uttered, "Oh dear, that's not good."

CHAPTER 6 END

A/N: Another chapter is done. As I mentioned before, I was waiting for the Kuroki and Alphos fight to be translated, and now it is. I apologize for the delay, as I have been quite busy with work and research. I've been reading a lot of manga and light novels for inspiration, and I also watched Geats and finished Black Sun.

As for Kuroki, he still can't get over Kasumi's death, and after the events of Build, her death has started to weigh heavily on him. Kuroki knows that he is still grieving, which is why Mode's offer to help him create a Goddess is a chance for him to heal his broken heart.

You may have noticed that Kuroki has a new weapon called the Transblaze Gun. Think of it as a black and red-colored Transteam gun. It cannot be used to henshin like the Transteam and Nebula Steam Gun, but in exchange, it has greater firepower and versatility, covering Cross-Z's weakness in long range. I have lots of ideas on how Kuroki fights with it. The reason I made it is because I don't want Kuroki hacking and slashing people with the Beat Crosser or the Demonic Blade all the time. He just donuted Reiji here, and if Kuroki had used either sword, he could have split him in two.

Kind of a spoiler, but I want to show that Kuroki is way above the people in the world of Ankoku Kishi. He has fought enemies far more powerful than those who can kill with a single blow (like Killbus and Evolto), and he needs to think about how to survive in those battles. Meanwhile, Reiji and his band of idiots are somewhat normal fish in a tiny pond, so not only are they not learning, but it is also degrading their skills.

For subplot B, the Build crew will need help, as Sento is just a scientist, not a magician, so it's out of his scope. Luckily, there are some Riders who happen to know some magic.

That's all for now. If you have any questions or feedback, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm in need of a beta reader.
