Rodrigo Castile made his way up the stoop and headed to class that morning. He oversleep and when he entered the building, the hallways were practically empty. Thankfully he managed to arrive just in the nick of time. The bell hadn't yet rang. Wasting no time, he quickly ran toward his locker, took out his coat, gathered all of his stuff and quickly headed to class. He arrived at Simmons' class, opened the door and quickly went in.

*RRRRRRiiiiiinnnnngggggg*

"Phew!" Rodrigo let out a sigh of relief. He just barely managed to get to class right on time.

"Good morning, Rodrigo!" Mr. Simmons warmly greeted him. "Please take a time, class is about to start."

"Yes, sir." Rodrigo said and quickly went to his desk. He put his his notebook on top, moved the chair and went to sit down.

"Whoa!" He exclaimed as he suddenly felt the chair make a cracking noise and quickly giving way to his weight, forcing him to fall down right on the floor.

"AH HA HA HA HA HA!" The whole class erupted in laughter on seeing Rodrigo suddenly fall down to the floor.

"Hey Rodrigo," Harold called out to him, "looks like you put on a few pounds! You have to be really fat to break your chair, ha ha ha ha ha!"

Rodrigo, still in shock, didn't respond and just massaged his bottom.

"Class, class! Please settle down!" Mr. Simmons exclaimed and went toward Rodrigo. "Rodrigo, are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah." He responded with a grunt.

"Don't worry Mr. Simmons. His butt broke his fall, ha ha ha ha!" Said Harold as he laughed.

"Harold!" Mr. Simmons scolded him with a frown, prompting the teen go quiet. He then turned his attention back to Rodrigo.

"Do you need to see the nurse?" He asked.

"No. I'll be okay." Rodrigo said as he got up.

Mr. Simmons went to inspect the broken chair.

"This is strange." He said. "How did you manage to break one of its leg when it is made of metal?"

"Maybe it's one of our old furniture." Rodrigo said as he got up.

"This place does still need a major do-over." Mr/ Simmons chuckled a bit. "Let me go grab a new chair for you so we can get class started. Put the broken chair at the back and I will get rid of it after class." He said to Rodrigo as he then went out to get a spare chair.

Rodrigo did as instructed and grabbed the broken chair and leg and went to put it at the back. As he did so, he looked more closely at the place where the leg broke, carefully studying its edges and interior.

"Hey Rodrigo!" Harold called out to him. "Make sure you don't break the floor as you walk." And he laughed, joined by Sid and Stinky who snickered.

"Shut up, Harold." Rodrigo said to him with a frown as he headed back toward his desk.

"Alright then." Mr. Simmons then entered the classroom with a new chair and gave it to Rodrigo.

"Here you go, a new chair for you." He said. "Now, let's get on with today's lesson, shall we?" He said to everyone as he went back to the front of the room to begin today's lesson.

Later on that day…

It was the end of school and everyone made their way to their lockers to grab their winter gear to head out. Rodrigo was among the many kids who walked down the hallway to get their coat. As he arrived, he inputted the code, unlocked it and opened the door when suddenly-

"Hey!" He exclaimed, as a small chug filled with water suddenly sprang from his locker and splashed all over his face and upper body.

Temporarily blinded from the water that got into his eyes, he slipped from the now wet floor and once again fell to the floor, prompting many kids who were witnessing to begin laughing at him.

Rodrigo, shocked once again and now humiliated, wiped his face away and began to process what just happened. He saw the now empty chug and angrily grabbed it, got up and threw it across the hallway.

"Aw man, I'm all wet!" He angrily exclaimed under the noise of laughter still permeating throughout the hallway.

"How am I supposed to get home like this?" He asked himself as he pouted.

He sighed in frustration before grabbing his coat and winter gear and tried to cover his wet clothes as best as he could before grabbing his bag, closed his locker and headed out, all while going through a bunch of kids who were still laughing at him.

He ignored the laughter and humiliation and made it to the door and opened it, only to be met by a strong a gust of freezing cold wind that slammed right at him.

"Bbrrrrrr." He shivered as he almost instantly felt the cold. But he braved the weather and quickly ran out and toward the bus.

A little while later…

A little while later, Rodrigo finally made it home, but he was near freezing. The bus thankfully had heating, but unfortunately it broke down right at the edge of the neighbourhood, forcing Rodrigo walk the rest of the way home.

He went inside his home and closed the door. He was shivering and his upper clothes were almost frozen as a result.

When I find out who did this He angrily thought. I'm gonna make him wish he was never born!

A few days later…

Rodrigo was anxiously waiting as he walked around the end of the hallway. It was lunch time and everyone was at the lunchroom eating, safe for him. He had agreed to meet someone on that day with some potential crucial information. But he was running late.

Oh man, where is he? Rodrigo thought as he looked at the clock on the wall. Just then, he saw the kid he was supposed to meeting running toward him.

"Finally, you made it Sid." Rodrigo said

"Sorry about that." Sid said with a bit of a pant. "I really had to go to the bathroom."

"What you got?" Rodrigo quickly asked.

"Sorry, but I got nothing on the guy that's been pulling pranks on you." Sid said

"Really?" Rodrigo said, looking both surprised and disappointed "Not even a shred of evidence?"

"Nope." Sid responded.

"Eye witnesses?" Rodrigo asked.

"Nada." Said Said. "No one has been the guy."

"Ugh!" Rodrigo grunted. "Thanks anyways, Sid." He softly said.

"No problem." Said Sid. "Maybe he's had his fun and he stopped."

"I doubt it." Rodrigo somberly said. "But let's hope so."

Later that day…

Rodrigo walked out of the school building feeling both relieved and...suspicious. Throughout the whole day, nothing happened. There were no tricks or stunts or cruel pranks. The day went on as normal. Which is why he was suspicious. He felt something was up. Although he was hopeful, he didn't think his prankster had suddenly gotten bored. But, school had ended and he was out of the building. Surely whatever the prankster was planning it had to be planted inside the school. He/She had no way in knowing where Rodrigo was going to be outside.

Feeling that at least he was free today, Rodrigo sighed a bit before taking his first step to go down the stoop when suddenly,

"Whoa!" He yelled as he skipped on the ground and went almost flying through the air. He landed on the stoop on his back, nearly twisting his ankle and slid right down the stairs. Stunned and angry that his instincts were right, he led himself slide down the stairs and onto the floor, all while frowning. Once he stopped, he got up and saw that the entire stoop was covered in ice. And not just a thin layer of ice, but a thick layer. He realized that someone had put cold water on the stoop, allowing it to freeze.

"Okay." Rodrigo softly but angrily said to himself. "You want to play games, I'll show you." And he went home while limping.

A little while later, Rodrigo knocked on the door of an old shelter between two big buildings. The eye door opened.

"Who is it?" Someone asked from behind the door.

"It's me." Rodrigo said.

After some noise, the door unlocked and opened. Rodrigo limped in as the door closed behind him. Rodrigo continue to limp until he was close to a large desk.

"Look what the cat brought in." A kid behind the desk said, hiding among the shade.

"Hey Big Gino." Rodrigo greeted him. "I am in need of your assistance."

"Oh?" Big Gino said and moved slightly forward, revealing some part of his face. "Anything you need, I'm here to help." He said with a polite smile.

"I'm sure you know that someone at our school has been pranking me nonstop." Rodrigo explained. "I need you to find out who the kid is and give me a name."

"Isn't Sid helping you out with that?" Gino asked.

"He wasn't much help." Rodrigo responded. "His connections don't reach out too far. Yours does."

"I see." Gino said as he got up from his chair and slowly made his way around his desk and toward Rodrigo.

"I could help you out." Gino said. "But uh, what's in it for me?"

"The warm feeling of helping out a friend." Rodrigo almost sarcastically responded.

Gino however, took his response seriously and wasn't assumed.

"If we were truly friends." He said with a frown. "You wouldn't be blackmailing me."

"I wouldn't need to have an 'insurance' if I knew you wouldn't try to come at me." Rodrigo said back. "And besides." He then took out an envelope from his pocket and gave it to Gino.

Gino took it and looked inside

"What's this?" Gino asked.

"That's a week's worth of my allowance." Rodrigo responded. "As payment for this service."

Gino didn't say anything as he looked once again inside the envelope before gazing back at Rodrigo with a smile.

"Give me a day or two." Gino said before stuffing the envelope inside his own pocket. "I'll have one of my associates contact you when I have something."

"Perfect." Rodrigo agreed.

"What do you wanna do once I find out who the prankster is?" Gino asked.

"Nothing for now." Rodrigo replied. "I first need to find out who it is."

The next day…

It was a Friday night and Rodrigo made his way through the lightened streets and toward the movie theater. He had a date night with Rhonda Lloyd and he didn't want to be late. He left his house early to make sure he would get there on time. With the cold and snowy weather making the climate unpredictable, he didn't want to take any chances. He eventually made it to the theater and after looking around, he didn't see her.

I'm early. Good. He thought.

The weather was cold and windy, but Rodrigo came prepared by dressing himself very warmly. As he waited for his date, his mind began to drift about the pranks he had been experiencing recently and the person behind it.

It just came out of nowhere. He thought. So sudden. One day I was minding my own business and the next, I started getting pranked. Why?

Rodrigo knew why. His short time being the master of PS 118 – nay, the whole city – made him a lot of enemies. He knew there were still those that would try to get back at him the first chance they have. But he also knew he still had a lot of support, both inside the school and outside. So if a person would want to get back at him, it was logical that his actions would have to be very covert, a hit and run type of tactic. The question Rodrigo had was why try to get back at him by pranking him.

Is it just a warm up before the real deal? He asked himself. And why would he risk going after me, knowing that I still have a lot of support and I'm now dating Rhonda. I mean, it's suicide! I don't think this is the work of a lone wolf. No, I think this is group effort that is trying to-

"Oh Rodrigo!"

Rodrigo then heard his name being called out by a familiar, swooning voice, prompting him to get out of his train of thought and glance toward his right to see Rhonda happy waving at him.

"Hi Rhonda." Rodrigo happy greeted her.

"Well you're here early." She commented. "Was I late?" She wondered.

"Not at all." Rodrigo said to her with a smile. "I came early. I didn't want to risk missing the movie."

"Well then, shall we?" She said as she offered her hand.

"Let's shall." He said back as he gently grabbed her hand and went to the ticket booth to get the two tickets.

Once inside, the couple went to find their movie room.

"I'll get us some popcorn." Rodrigo said. "Did you want some?" He asked.

"Yes, please." Rhonda replied.

The couple stood in line to get their snacks. As they did so, Rodrigo glanced at Rhonda and became in awe at her beauty. She soft, tender skin, her glowing dark eyes, her shining black hair…

"What?" She asked when she noticed him staring at her.

Rodrigo quickly snapped out of it.

"Oh um, I was just admiring your beauty." Rodrigo said. "You look ravishing tonight."

"Oh well, don't let me stop you." She bashfully said.

Rodrigo just took a slight bow and kissed her hand.

"Can I help you?" The staff said to the couple when it was their turn.

"Oh yes." Rodrigo began his order. "I'll have two popcorns bags and two Yahoo sodas."

Once the couple received their snacks, they began to make their way toward the movie room. Rodrigo was beside her and carried his snacks when he took another quick glance at Rhonda, ignoring where he was going.

"Of!"He grunted when he collided with someone, nearly causing the person to tumble down.

"I'm so sorry, sir." Rodrigo apologized and attempted to check if the person was alright.

"Quite alright." The person grunted before quickly walking away.

Rodrigo didn't get a good look at him. The person wore a heavy trench coat with the collar being up that he couldn't make out a face. He immediately became suspicious of the character.

"Rodrigo!" Rhonda then called. "The movie is about to start."

Rodrigo didn't move and continued to watch the mysterious figure leave the theater. Hoping that it wasn't a big deal, he turned around and walked to the movie room where their movie was being premiered.

The couple went inside, found a comfy spot that wasn't close to anyone and sat down. Feeling relaxed, the couple took off their coat and got comfortable and began munching on their snacks as they waited for the movie to start. They didn't have to wait long. The room darkened and the screen begin to light up.

Ahh, this is thought. I'm at the movies, having a great time with the best girl in the whole school. Nothing can do wrong.

RRRRRIINNNNGGGG

The fire alarm bell then suddenly rang, shocking everyone in the theater. But before anyone could move, the sprinklers suddenly turned on and water began to sprang and soak the whole room.

"OH MY GOD!" Rhonda yelled in shock and tried to quickly grab her coat and ran out.

Rodrigo followed close behind as he tried to put his coat back on.

"You've got to be kidding me!" He angrily yelled as he and everyone ran out of the theater, just as sirens can be heard at the distance.

Later that evening…

Rodrigo went inside the house and closed the door behind him. It was late and he didn't want to cause a scene, so he gently closed the door. But in reality, he wanted to slam it hard. He was furious!

There's no way that fire alarm trigger was a coincidence! He angrily thought. It's gotta be the prankster!

Rodrigo was angry that he got wet again for the second time that week.

"Gino better have something for me tomorrow!" He exclaimed as he made his way to the bathroom to take a hot shower. He was once again shivering.

I'm starting to think things are really going smoothly for Rodrigo here. do you guys feel sorry for the kid, or are these pranks well deserved? Let me know in the comments!
