Chapter 373: Dante vs God Serena!
Dante breathed heavily as his body throbbed with pain. Glancing around, Dante could not believe his current situation. Looking around Dante's attention was turned back towards Serena as he started to laugh in a mocking tone. When the battle started, Dante was confident he could defeat Serena since he had the other four Gods of Isgar backing him up.
"Hahaha and then there was one" stated Serena in a mocking tone, smiling as Dante struggled to catch his breath. Everything hurt on Dante's body, he had sustained significant damage, but it was nothing compared to the other Gods of Isgar. As Dante continued to catch his breath, he heard Warren's voice speak into his head through his telepathy magic.
"Dante we haven't heard from you in a while, what's the status report" asked Warren in a concerned tone. Breathing heavily, Dante started to speak through the telepathy link.
"Serena is way stronger than we thought. Together the five Gods of Isgar faced him in battle" responded Dante in a breathless tone before he continued to speak.
"It didn't matter what we threw at him. Of the five Gods of Isgar, I'm the only one still standing" stated Dante, the collapsed bodies of the other Gods of Isgar sewn around the area. While Serena continued to laugh, Dante grit his teeth in anger. Dante could not believe that the fight had gone this terrible, he had never faced someone as strong as Serena. Finding out that Serena was a dragon slayer was shocking, it was even more shocking to learn that Serena has eight different dragon slayer lacrimas implanted inside him.
"Hahaha the Gods of Isgar were nothing and now all that remains is one little fairy" laughed Serena in a mocking tone, amused that he was able to easily beat the most powerful wizards in the kingdom of Fiore.
"I don't know if I can" Dante started to say through the telepathy magic before he was interrupted.
"You better not be giving up! Be a real man and keep fighting" yelled Elfman through the telepathy magic.
"You promised you would be fine big brother, don't give up" shouted Lisanna through the telepathy magic.
"We all believe in you Dante" responded Mira in a supporting tone. Dante felt renewed strength flow through him as he listened to serval other members of the guild encourage him. Smiling at his friend and family's support, Dante started to speak through the telepathy.
"You're right everyone" responded Dante with a smile before he continued to speak through the telepathy magic.
"I have no other option but to win. Just worry about the other enemies, I got this traitor no problem" stated Dante with confidence as he channeled his magical power. Laughing at Dante, Serena started to speak.
"Hahaha are you really still trying to beat me?! Have you not realized that your struggling his meaningless" asked Serena in a mocking and amused tone. Continuing to channel his magical power, Dante started to speak.
"Keep thinking that. I am going to enjoy making you eat those words" responded Dante in a determined tone. Still laughing at Dante, Serena started to speak.
"Hahaha what the hell do you think you can do? I've already defeated the other Gods of Isgar, you're the only one left" responded Serena in a mocking tone. Smiling confidently at Serena, Dante used his magic to transform into his Lucifer form as he started to speak.
"You might have beaten the Gods of Isgar but I am far more than that" responded Dante in a confident tone, spreading his midnight black wings wide as he continued to speak.
"I am the seventh guild master of Fairy Tail, the pillar that supports the home" stated Dante as he radiated dark and holy energy. Readying himself to strike, Dante continued to speak.
"AS LONG AS FAIRY TAIL NEEDS ME, I REFUSE TO CRUMBLE" yelled Dante before he flew high into the air. Flying high into the air, Dante charged his fist with dark and holy energy before he flew towards Serena. Serena smiled mockingly at Dante as he summoned his wind dragon slayer magic to trap in a strong gust of wind. Unlike before Dante was able to easily break out of the gust of wind, continuing to fly towards Serena. Serena seemed caught by surprise that Dante was able to break out of his attack as he started to speak.
"What" shouted Serena in a shocked tone, not able to react in time as Dante crashed his fist into his jaw. Crashing his fist into Serena's jaw, Dante sent the dragon slayer flying backwards before he crashed into the ground. Hovering in the air, Dante watched as Serena stood back up and started to speak.
"Where is this strength coming from" asked Serena in an annoyed tone since Dante was far more powerful than he had been during the entire fight. Radiating dark and holy energy, Dante started to speak.
"I really didn't want to have to use this form" responded Dante in a dark tone, glaring at Serena as he continued to speak.
"While this is my most powerful angel soul and uses the greatest amount of magical power, I don't like using this form" stated Dante, hovering in the air as he glared at Serena.
"So you held back to try and conserve magical power" asked Serena in an annoyed tone, insulted that Dante thought he could hold back his power against him and still win. Shaking his head, Dante started to speak.
"No that's not the reason. While this form uses a lot of magical power, conserving magical power wasn't the reason I tried to finish the fight without using it" responded Dante before he continued to speak.
"You see the soul of Lucifer is strong willed. Even though I have control, if I draw too much power from this form I'll start to take on a more sadistic personality" responded Dante, dark energy radiating from his body. Giving Serena a sinister smile, Dante continued to speak.
"Although against a traitor like you, I suppose I can let my darker side show" stated Dante with a sinister smile as he drew out an immense amount of power from his Lucifer soul. After Dante said these words he used his enhanced speed to quickly fly behind Serena. Taken by surprise from Dante's sudden increase in speed, Serena only had enough time to turn his head in Dante's direction before Dante shouted his attack.
"Soul Crusher Fist" yelled Dante as his fist collied into Serena's face. Dante's fist was charged with hell flames, burning Serena as he was sent flying backwards. While Serena was still flying backwards, Dante flew after him and crashed his foot into Serena's gut. Serena went crashing into the ground, forming a small crater as he landed. Still not done with his attack, Dante flew high into the air as he shouted his next attack.
"Rain of Ruination" yelled Dante as serval beams of dark energy shot from his hand, flying towards Serena. Serena was still recovering from being kicked into the ground, he had no time to react as the multiple beams of dark energy rained down onto him. The area was torn apart from Dante's attack. After his attack Dante hovered in the air as he started to speak.
"Come on don't tell me you are finished. I still want to make you suffer" stated Dante in a mocking tone, his personality already turning dark as he continued to draw an immense amount of magical power from the Lucifer soul. Gritting his teeth in anger, Serena stood up and shouted at Dante.
"Don't think you can win! You really want to fight me?! I'm God Serena" yelled Serena in an angry tone, insulted that someone like Dante could damage him. Giving Serena a sinister smile, Dante hovered in the air as he started to speak.
"Fight you? No, I want to kill you" responded Dante with a sinister smile, Lucifers influence making every word the truth as Dante channeled more magical energy. After Dante said these words, Serena yelled in anger as he shot a massive magical attack towards Dante using multiple dragon roars. Spreading his wings wide, Dante used his superior speed to dodge the massive magical attack flying towards him. Dodging the massive magical attack, Dante shouted at Serena.
"An attack that slow can never touch me" yelled Dante in a dark tone before he crashed his fist into Serena. Serena grunted in pain as he was hit but was far from beaten. Channeling his magical power, Serena shot a powerful blast of lightning dragon slayer magic at Dante. The attack crashed into Dante, his body throbbing in pain as he was hit by the powerful lightning magic. Laughing as his attack hit Dante, Serena started to speak.
"Hahaha take that" yelled Serena, upping the power of his attack as it continued to shock Dante. Dante grit his teeth in pain as he took the attack, not moving from his spot as he started to speak.
"Anything you do to me I'll give back to you tenfold" responded Dante in a sinister tone, not showing any sign of weakness despite his body being torn apart by Serena's attack. Channeling his magical power, Dante continued to speak.
"Hellish Torture" shouted Dante, pointing a finger at Serana before dark lightning flew from it and hit Serena. Feeling Dante's attack, Serena yelled out in pain as he lost concentration to continue his attack. Continuing to apply his own attack onto Serena, Dante continued to speak.
"This attack is said to give the victim over a thousand years of suffering in the fires of hell all in a single agonizing moment. How does it feel" asked Dante in a mocking tone, reveling in Serena's pain. Using all eight of his dragon slayer lacrima, Serena channeled immense magical power to break out of Dante's attack before he started to speak.
"ENOUGH PLAYING AROUND! THIS NEXT ATTACK WILL END YOU" yelled Serena in a pained and angry tone.
"EIGHT DRAGON ROAR" yelled Serena before he fired his most powerful attack at Dante. Seeing the powerful blast of magic fly towards him, Dante started to speak.
"You better hope this works" responded Dante in a mocking tone, Lucifers influence forcing him to stay still and take the full force of Serana's attack. Dante wanted to not just beat and kill Serena, he wanted to humiliate him by taking his strongest attack. Serena's attack crashed into Dante and the logical part of Dante's mind buried under Lucifer's hate came through to tell Dante that this was a bad idea. Instantly Dante felt a strong surge of pain all throughout his body as it was torn apart from Serena's attack. The only thing that allowed Dante to remain standing was the knowledge that everyone in Fairy Tail was counting on him. After the attack vanished, Serena gawked at Dante since he was still standing.
"That's impossible! How can you still be standing" asked Serena, seeing that his attack had devastated Dante but he was still standing. Glaring at Serena, Dante started to speak.
"I'm standing because unlike you, I fight for more than myself. I told you before that as the guild master I am the pillar that supports my home and I will never crumble to the likes of you" responded Dante before Lucifer's dark influence took over once more. Flying high into the air, Dante continued to speak.
"Remember what I said before. Anything you do to more I will return tenfold" stated Dante as he raised an arm high into the air with an open palm. Channeling an immense amount of dark and holy energy, the earth started to shake as Dante formed a massive sphere of dark energy that blocked out the sun shining onto the area. Serena was stunned at the sear size of the attack and could do nothing but stare as Dante continued to speak.
"You've betrayed your kingdom and for that you will die" stated Dante in a dark tone, not showing a hint of remorse as he readied to throw one of his most powerful attacks. Staring darkly at Serena, Dante continued to speak.
"Fall of Eden" stated Dante, his voice heavy like an executioners axe on the head of the condemned. Bringing his hand down, the massive sphere of dark energy began to descend to the earth. The immense size of the sphere made it impossible for Serena to dodge the attack. Crashing into the area the sphere ripped apart the ground in an all-consuming blast. As Dante watched from high in the air as the entire area was consumed in a devastating blast of energy, he was glad he made sure to cloak the other Gods of Isgar in a protective veil of energy, so they were not affected by the blast. As the earth shook from the force of Dante's attack, Warren started to speak into Dante's head.
"What the hell is that Dante?! The radar is showing a huge amount of magical power from your area, like a miniature sun almost. We can feel the shaking from here" asked Warren in a concerned tone. As Warren finished speaking, the attack cleared and nothing remined of Serena as Dante landed back on the ground. Landing back on the ground, Dante exhaled as he reverted back to his normal form. The exhaustion from using so much magical power immediately set in as Dante struggled to remain standing in his inured and exhausted state. Despite his tired and damaged body, Dante smiled as he started to speak through the telepathy magic.
"Don't worry about it, that was my attack" responded Dante with a smile before he continued to speak to the entire guild.
"This is the Seventh Guild master. Mission accomplished, Serena is gone" stated Dante with a smile, cheers echoing in his head as serval guildmembers breathed a sigh of relief that Dante had won the tough battle. Taking a deep breath Dante felt like he was going to collapse at any moment, but he knew the war was far from over yet. During his fight with Serena, the other two wizards walked away. Dante needed to join the rest of the fighting, his friends and family still needed him.
