"There… all done." I muttered to myself with a smile on my face as I marveled at my new room. It used to look so dull and gray. Perhaps, my environment was part of what led me to becoming depressed before. I wasted so many days on my bed not doing a thing but staring at the ceiling and sleeping when I could have been doing something about my situation. However…
… That's in the past now. I can't let my regrets swallow me whole… not anymore. I might have lost All Might… and who knows if I'll ever make it back to my world… and see mom… Iida… Todoroki… Uraraka… Kacchan… and everyone else again…
… But even still… I'm not going to let that stop me. That's why…
"… 'This' is my starting line." I muttered to myself as I looked at my room which I personally decorated with All Might posters. I didn't have my original posters; those are back in my world. But I remembered every single detail of my All Might memorabilia and with the arts and crafts stores being open twenty-four hours it wasn't too hard to remake them in this world. But that wasn't all I did in my spare time…
"… Hopefully I'll be able to live up to Horikita's expectations." I muttered to myself as I looked at the stack of homework packets that Horikita-San had given me last week. I was able to finish each and every assignment along with doing a complete remodel of my room. It took me all night and I didn't even get a wink of sleep, but I've been sleeping for too long. Now…
… Is the time for action.
"… Perfect. I have just thirty minutes to spare." I muttered to myself once more as I was already in my school uniform with my backpack on my shoulders. And without wasting another second, I unlocked the door to my room. And then…
'WHOOOOOOOOSH!' I sped out of my room and down the hallway! The school that I'm going to be attending for now, Advanced Nurturing High School, is located roughly two miles away from the apartment complex that consisted of my room along with several other students' rooms. It would take well over thirty minutes for a casual walk. But if I run, I should be able to make it with five minutes to spare! That's why waiting for the elevator would take too much time, so I made a beeline for the emergency staircase!
'Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step!' I ran down the stairs because this was the safest way of making it out of the apartment complex. If I had One For All I would have been able to use Shoot Style by using my legs bounce off the walls that led down to the first floor. But I don't have OFA anymore, so I'd break my legs if I jumped off the fourth floor where my room is located on. But even without OFA…
… I made it down all the stairs in fifteen seconds! All that was left that was preventing me from leaving now was the front door of the lobby but even that-
'BAAAAAM!' Wouldn't be able to stop me! Not in a million years! Nothing could stop me from smashing through that door! (He opened the door and closed it behind him with excessive gentleness.)
"Ah." I gasped as I looked outside with my mouth agape for the first time in what felt like forever as the sun shined onto my face. I had seen that wonderful blue sky countless times in my life. Even still…
'It's so… beautiful.' I thought internally as tears of joy slid down my cheeks. But it didn't take me long to realize that this was wasting time. So, I slapped my cheeks before continuing my pursuit to Advanced Nurturing High School! (Which will be referred to as AN for short now)
'Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step! Step!' I ran throughout the streets as the air blew through my hair. I smiled as it's been a while since I had to run like this! Man, it feels good to be alive! But as I was thinking that to myself, I lost track of my surroundings-
'VRRRRROOOOOOMMMMM!' As a white speeding truck was heading straight for me! I assessed the situation as I took a second to bend my knees before-
'LEEEAAAAP!' Leaping out of the road less than a second before the speeding truck would have hit me!
'Oh god! That was way too close!' I thought internally with what was surely a horrified look on my face. Yeesh! Who knows what would have happened to me if that truck hit me?!
"Phew." I sighed in relief as I wiped the dripping sweat off my forehead. I then took out my phone to see what time it was.
"Oh crap!" I yelled out as I only had fifteen minutes left and I was just barely halfway there! Dang it! Pick up the pace Midoriya! I thought to myself before resuming my pursuit. That's right. I can't waste a single second! I might be aware of how to get from point A to point B. But I'm still in the dark about everything else. Just what differentiates AN from other High Schools? It's certainly not UA but there's something about AN that… has me concerned. Truthfully, it's more of a gut feeling than anything but my instincts are usually right on the money so for once I hope this is just some fancy prep school.
Furthermore, there's the unidentified contact on my phone, 'Tsubasa.' I attempted calling Tsubasa several times as well as sending out several text messages, but it was no use. Tsubasa has been radio silent ever since he sent me the All Might video that I was obsessed with when I was a kid. But All Might nor anyone else I looked up to exist in 'this world' which means Tsubasa is from 'my world.' As for who he is… I have a hunch it's All For One's right-hand man. A person named Kyudai Garaki.
However, I personally never met Kyudai Garaki since he was defeated and arrested my Endeavor and a few other Pro Heroes during the First War against the villains. To be honest, I don't even know if Kyudai Garaki is his real name since I was told he had used many different identities in the past. He's probably using a different one here too. And with everything that happened afterwards, I didn't get a chance to meet Garaki face to face. All I know about him is two things. First, he is the creator of the monsters known as Nomu that threatened me and the lives of my loved ones countless times during my tenure at UA.
Second, he's All For One's most trusted ally to the point that he took part of his Master's name for himself. Those two things alone make him exceptionally dangerous. And without One For All, I have no idea how I'd be able to defeat him if he has brought Nomu along with him into this world. As for why I believe that Tsubasa and Kyudai Garaki are the same person, it's because of how All Might died. That monster that murdered him was clearly a Nomu, that much was obvious since I saw that monstrosity with my own eyes. There was also the fact that both AFO and Tomura Shigaraki are both gone, which means that the only person left alive capable of commanding the Nomu in their absence is Garaki.
But… that's not all. There's also another thing that concerns me just as much as 'Tsubasa.' That would be-
'Do you wish to obliterate him?' The voice that I heard last night when I was in the middle of fighting Horikita's brother. I made sure that there was no one in my surroundings that could have produced such a voice. And there's no way Horikita or her brother could talk with such a voice. No. That voice belonged to someone who had lived a long and harsh life, that's the vibe I got from hearing it. Just… who did it come from? How were they there that night? And who are they? I had so many questions that even thinking about them made me lose my focus.
'WHOOOOOOOOSH!' As I ran down the streets, I was in deep thought about who that voice belonged to that I lost focus and didn't notice that my running unleashed a gust of wind. As well as that there were people nearby.
"Kyaaah!" A high-pitched squeal that could have only come from a young girl broke my thought process as I looked toward the direction of where the sound came from. I then noticed a girl who had lost her balance due to my reckless running and was about to fall!
'Not if I could help it!' I thought internally before rushing toward her and grabbing onto her back and legs before she could fall onto the concrete!
'Just in time!' I thought internally with a smile as I was relieved to see someone not get hurt over me being reckless. It was then I noticed the appearance of this girl, she had short white hair that reached her shoulders, and violet eyes. She wore the standard school uniform for girls that Horikita wore. But she also had a black beret on her head which stood out to me. She clearly was Japanese so I'm not sure why she would wear something that is commonly associated with what French people would wear. Haha… maybe she's like Aoyama-
"I'd appreciate it if you let her go right now if you know what's good for you." A voice whispered into my ear as they grasped my shoulder. I creaked my head to the side as I noticed a man who appeared to be several years older than me. He was bald but what really stood out to me was that he was…
'S-S-SO TALL!' I thought internally with what was surely a look of freight on my face. But could you blame me!? This guy was even taller than Horikita's brother! No! I'm pretty sure this guy is six feet tall! Not to mention his clothes aren't hiding his outrageous muscles well at all! Not only that but he looks like he's ready to clobber me into next week! Crap! Just what the hell do I do?!
"My, my. To catch me as I was falling. That's quite impressive." The voice of the girl from earlier alerted me as I realized that I was still holding her in a position that could be considered… 'bridal style.'
"I'M SO SORRY! IF I WASN'T RUNNING LIKE A MANIAC, YOU WOULDN'T HAVE LOST YOUR BALANCE! I'M ALSO SORRY ABOUT HOLDING ONTO YOU LIKE AN IDIOT FOR SO LONG! FORGIVE ME!" I yelled out at the top of my lungs as I begged for forgiveness on my knees toward the young girl. I didn't know, because I was facing the concrete but at first, she had a look of surprise before her lips curled upward.
"Hmm. That's right. It is your fault I almost took a tumble onto the ground. Who knows what would have happened if I banged up my pretty little face? I mean, I obviously know what would have happened. But I don't think you should know… for your wellbeing of course." The young girl spoke with a smug smile as the guy from before handed her a cane. Wait… does she need that cane to walk?! Oh crap! I really screwed up! On my first day no less!
"… Just how am I going to have you repay me. Hmm… what if I were to- The girl spoke but I interrupted her before she could finish.
"I'LL BE RIGHT BACK! I PROMISE!" I yelled out at the top of my lungs as I ran away from them!
"Eh?" The girl muttered with a look of disbelief on her face.
"That asshole! I'm going to beat the shit out of him." The man declared as a vein bulged from his forehead while he cracked his knuckles. But the girl had other plans.
"No. That won't be necessary. It seems like that boy knows his place. He'd be stupid to ever show his face to me ag- The girl spoke as she smiled to herself, but she was cut off by-
"I'm back! Want a candy apple?" I asked with a smile on my face as I held the delicious red apple on a stick toward the girl who had a look of utter astonishment on her face.
"C-Candy apple?" The girl replied as she tilted her head to the side as she stared at the delicious delicacy in front of her.
'Huh? What is this? Does he honestly attempt to curry favor with me with something inexpensive and unhealthy? Is he mocking me? But… those eyes tell me otherwise. He's looking at me as if he knows I'll like this. How would he know such a thing about me that not even I have any knowledge of? … Unless… oh… I understand now. He considers me a threat to his Class. I mean, who wouldn't fear the leader of Class A? Not only that but as the daughter of the school's chairman, he seeks to get me hooked on something so unhealthy so that it would impede my academic prowess all the while benefitting his class. Not only that but he's tempting me with something that's considered acceptable for girls my age to eat instead of something like alcohol which I am clearly too young to consume. Hmm… he's smarter than I gave him credit for.' The girl thought internally as she smiled at Midoriya with an innocent look on her face all the while she concealed something much more sinister.
'Now that I'm looking at her up close… yeah. She really looks like Eri. That's why I'm sure she's going to like this.' I thought internally with a smile of my own. (All the while he was completely oblivious to her true feelings on the matter at hand.)
"Hmm… thanks. But I'll pass. After all, we're even all things considered. You did save me from falling after all." The girl spoke while maintaining her fake smile.
"Y-You sure? It was totally my fault. Plus, this is pretty good. MUNCH. You sure you don't want one?" I asked while biting into the other candy apple that I bought for me because they are really good.
'Just who the hell does this guy think he is?' The man thought internally with a look of disgust on his face as he watched Midoriya consume the candy apple whole.
"I'm good, really. But if you think you owe me one then there is one thing you could do for me." The girl spoke.
"Sure." I replied without a second thought.
"Tell me… your name." The girl asked while continuing to look innocent.
"Izuku Midoriya. And you are?" I asked with what was surely a bright smile on my face.
"Hahaha…" The girl chuckled to herself until-
"… still playing dumb, are you? You even look like you genuinely don't know who I am. I got to say, you're pretty good at acting. There is no student on this campus who doesn't know the name 'Arisu Sakayanagi.' But I'll give you credit for looking pretty convincing. I could use someone like you in my class. But… such a transfer is impossible. For now… at least. Perhaps you'll make it into Class A one day… Izuku Midoriya. But that's only IF you continue to amuse me." The girl named Sakayanagi spoke with a smug smile on her face as she looked at Midoriya as if he was but a toy that she doesn't have but may consider buying in the future.
'Huh? What does mean by all that?' I thought internally as I was genuinely confused over Sakayanagi's intentions and what her words truly meant. But before I could ask-
"Come now, Katsuragi. You don't want to miss arriving on time just so that you could glare at him." Sakayanagi continued as a limousine parked to the right of her while its driver opened the door for her. However, that didn't concern me as I only just realized that guy had still been glaring daggers at me. That and…
'Wait… what?! I-Is this guy actually a student?! I thought for sure he was one of the teachers!' I thought internally as my jaw dropped as he genuinely looked closer to Aizawa's age than he ever did to me! (Aizawa's age is thirty btw) But then again… there's Mineta. Wait a minute! She's a student too?! I thought she was Eri's age! (Eri's age is six btw)
"I'll be watching you, Midoriya. And if you ever think of touching Sakayanagi again…" The bald man named Katsuragi spoke but paused for a few second to clench his fist. And then…
"… I'll make you wish you were six feet under." Katsuragi declared while glaring daggers so sharp it was as if I could feel them pierce me!
'YEEP!' I internally screamed as I was absolutely scared of this guy!
"Tch." Katsuragi clicked his tongue before getting into limousine with Sakayanagi and shut the car door behind him. I then felt a shiver down my spine as I remembered that I had to be at school soon. My teeth chattered uncontrollably as I looked at my phone to see that-
"I ONLY HAVE FIVE MINUTES LEFT?!" I yelled out at the top of my lungs as the limousine drove off.
"NO! PLEASE! TAKE ME WITH YOU!" I yelled out at the top of my lungs once more as I still had half over half a mile to traverse. But with my only means of transportation gone I had no choice but to-
'STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP!' RUN LIKE HELL!
"What the hell?! He's fast!" Katsuragi blurted out with a dumbfounded look on his face as Midoriya was keeping up with a moving vehicle going twenty miles per hour! The average person can only reach speeds of thirteen to eighteen miles per hour for up to twenty seconds at most! But well over twenty seconds had passed! And not only is he maintaining that level of speed but he's actually becoming even faster! Midoriya is quite literally surpassing human limitations!
"Just who the hell is this guy?!" Katsuragi blurted out with a pissed off expression on his face as he began to realize that this guy could actually be a threat to Class A!
"Whoo. Look at him go. Izuku Midoriya is pretty interesting. Don't you agree, Katsuragi?" Sakayanagi asked as she looked at Midoriya running like a demon with an amused look on her face.
"No, I do not. He's probably going to get himself killed if he continues to act so recklessly." Katsuragi replied with a stoic look on his face in stellar contrast to Sakayanagi.
"Hahaha. I thought you might say that. But even still… there's something different about him. Could he actually be from… that place?" Sakayanagi laughed as before speaking that turned into a whisper as she recalled a place that she had seen only once when she was but a child. A place where people are bred to be academically gifted in ways that utterly surpass everyone else, with a few exceptions such as herself of course. That and the person she had met only once in that 'White Room.'
'No… it couldn't be. It should be impossible. But is it really possible? Hmm… if you keep interesting me like this… then I'll just have to make sure you make it into Class A so that no one else can have you… Izuku Midoriya.' Sakayanagi thought internally as she thought how she could use Midoriya to gain even more of ana advantage over the other classes than she already has. But before she knew it-
"What the hell?! He passed the car?!" Katsuragi shouted with a look of bewilderment as he looked at Midoriya running past the limousine! This alerted the attention of Sakayanagi as her smile grew more sinister.
"Hey, Mr. driver. Keep up with the boy in front of us." Sakayanagi asked.
"But for what reason madam?" The driver asked.
"Let's just say… I want to see him run his little heart out." Sakayanagi replied with a grin on her face as the young man named Izuku Midoriya continued to exceed her wildest expectations.
'STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP! STEP!' Izuku Midoriya continued to run as fast as he could as he saw AN in the distance! He was only roughly a hundred meters away from the front doors! He was so close! At this rate he'll make it just in ti-
'BAM!' Or at least that's what Midoriya thought until he accidentally hit a small rock with his foot causing him to fall onto the concrete. Sakayanagi noticed this and was surprised to see this result.
"See? What did I tell you? That kid is as reckless as they come." Katsuragi commented as he saw this result from a mile away. Normally, Sakayanagi would someone running like a maniac would inevitably fall. That is the natural outcome after all.
"Hmph. That's… disappointing." Sakayanagi replied with a look of disappointment. But even still… something about Midoriya made Sakayanagi genuinely believe that he could do it. But she had no clue as to why he made her feel that way. Arisu Sakayanagi may have been able to answer most mathematical equations with ease and was an incredibly talented individual. But the answers to why she felt such emotions eluded her.
"You can speed up now, Mr. Driv- Sakayanagi spoke but stopped before she finished as her eyes shot wide open as the boy a few meters in front of the limousine stood back up and resumed running.
"This guy's insane. No one with a sound mind would actually continue running after falling like that." Katsuragi commented as he closed his eyes because he could not stand to watch someone be so foolish. All the while Sakayanagi was utterly amazed by what she saw in front of her. Most people would just give up after scraping their knees. Hell, if she were to fall like that, she'd probably not be able to walk for weeks. But even still this guy is continuing to run as frantic as he was before. For Sakayanagi, it was simply-
"U-Unbelievable." Sakayanagi muttered to herself as the man named Izuku Midoriya continued to go above and beyond what a normal person should be capable of. It was truly unbelievable. But even though it absurd and ridiculous to watch…
"… You can… do it." Sakayanagi muttered quietly to the point that Katsuragi couldn't pick up on it much less, Izuku Midoriya. But even though he surely couldn't hear it-
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Midoriya let out a mighty roar as he quickened his pace even further as the blood dripped from his knees and he had cuts and bruises on his legs and hands. He didn't have Uraraka to save him from him from falling. But even still he was running like hell! But while that was indeed impressive, there was something even more impressive that Kohei Katsuragi couldn't see, but Arisu Sakayanagi unknowingly saw. The true gift that Izuku Midoriya had, that even surpassed One For All…
… Was the ability to make people believe in him.
'BAAAAAAAM!' Izuku Midoriya slammed through the doors of AN with only ten seconds to spare! But his classroom was still a few more meters away! He was gasping for breath and could feel his heart thumping ferociously, not to mention his injuries! It was a miracle he was still standing! But even still…
… even still…
… HE! RAN! LIKE! HELL! UNTIL! HE! REACHED-
Chapter 2: Smashing into Advanced Nurturing High School!
'SMASH!' Izuku Midoriya busted through the door with just a second to spare! This resulted in everyone in the classroom being utterly astonished by what they saw.
'DONG!' The bell rang not even a moment later as the start of homeroom began for the students of Class D. However, even the loud noise that the bell made did not make any of them react in the slightest as they were fixated onto the green haired young man standing near the entranceway of the classroom.
'Drip. Drip. Drip.' Someone their age bleeding from his knees. Scrapes and bruises on his arms and face. Not to mention the red spots on his jeans where his knees were located due to his blood seeping into it. For these reasons it was crystal clear to all of them that this guy pushed himself above and beyond just to get to class on time.
"Haah… haah… haah…" Not to mention Izuku was so out of breath he was quite literally gasping for it. This was the first time anyone within Midoriya's Class, Class D, ever noticed him with the exception of Suzune Horikita. And each and every one of them were transfixed onto the person who just entered their classroom. Some were surprised. Others were confused by what they were looking at. But no one could avert their eyes away from their classmate named Izuku Midoriya.
"… Haah… I… haah… I made it… just in time… Horikita." I spoke while giving a thumbs up to the girl with an utterly perplexed look on her face. I attempted to smile but it was probably a weak forced looking one. That wouldn't be a surprise because I was struggling to stand up as I began losing consciousness. Damn it. This is supposed to be my first day with my new classmates. It wasn't… supposed to be like this. But even still… I'm happy…
… I'm so happy… that I kept my promise to the bitter end. That was the last thing I thought before collapsing onto the floor and passing out.
