(Scene: Fandom Theater- Memory Attic)
(the place was dark and dust seemed to drift in the air. A trap door on the floor was opened as dust started swooping. A curious Brooke and Maddie peeked in, inspecting the place)
Maddie: (Sniffs the dust) Ah- Achoo! (Sniffles her nose) Wowie! This place has a more number of dust bunnies than Bunny's siblings!
Brooke: (both fully get inside and looks around) this place is huge! Not to mention dusty. I wonder why Corgo never cleans this place.
?: It's probably because I like it like this.
(the both of them turned to the direction of the voice, though can't find anyone. Confused, Maddie looked at Brooke, who shrugged)
?: down here.
(They both looked down to see a small gray mouse looking at them. He had a refined look and wore a white tie and monocle)
?: Good evening ladies, my name is Gerald. I keep an eye on the secrets of Memory Attic. To what do I owe the pleasure?
Maddie(Excited): Oh my gosh! (Grabs the mouse in her hands) You remind me of my dormouse, Earl Gray!
Gerald: (Squished) I- oof- am glad- um- you think so- uf- but would you please put me down?
Maddie: Oh! (Puts him down on a cardboard box) Whoopsie, sorry, got excited there.
Gerald: (Straightened his tie) Phew! It's alright. I know how the youth gets when excited. Always lively, they are.
Brooke: Gerald, we were wondering if you could give us a tour? VP's out in her world and me and Maddie were hoping to explore.
Gerald(Surprised): Well- Why, I haven't given a good old tour in years! Of course! Come, come! Just make sure to be careful of the dust here.
(The three of them explored, with each step a light seemed to shine as it spotlight the various items in the attic. There were many objects such as shelves of unopened books, old toys and valuable items, and cardboard boxes filled with different memories of the past. Brooke seemed to take in the wonder of it, Gerald scurried to each spotlight, and Maddie seemed so excited that she kept appearing everywhere in rapid speed out of nowhere)
Maddie: (Sniffles) Achoo! (Giggles)
Gerald: I told you to be careful!
Maddie: (Grinning) It's not my fault this place is filled with dust bunnies!
Brooke: She's kind of right, though. Why do you like it this way?
Gerald(Reminiscent): Well, not many people see it, but the dust and scenery always gives out a mysterious and omniscient setting to me. Sure, it may be dirty to others, but I always thought of it as if there are things here that are important from long ago or stuff long forgotten and old. Kind of like me in a way.
Brooke: Huh, never thought of it that way.
Maddie: Me neither! So it's like old secrets and treasures that people seem to forget and reminiscently go through to remember! Going through memory lane!
Gerald: (A fond smile) Yes. Exactly like that.
(They kept wandering and wondering about all the different items there were as Gerald explained some of them to the girls)
Brooke: Hey, Gerald?
Gerald: What is it, dear?
Brooke: I have questions. About a lot of things here. Though, the people around here don't exactly answer them clearly.
Gerald: Ah, well, they don't exactly have much to explain. There are many things that they themselves wonder as well.
Brooke: But I still need to know. I don't know what it is but I feel like they are hiding something.
Gerald: Well, what do you want to know?
Brooke: Well-
Maddie: (Babbling) Where did they come from?! How did they make this place?! Why do they want us to work here?! How many rooms are there?! What tea do they like?! Which is better, plaid or spotted?! Black and white or a bunch of colors all at once?! Is there a 3rd wall or a 4th fall?! WHAT ARE THE UNTOLD SECRETS ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Brooke(Confused): Um… Yeah, some of what she said.
Gerald: Well, I might be able to answer a few of your questions. (Scurries to a blue rug with the alphabet spelled around it and stops to sit at the G) Come sit.
(Brooke and Maddie go to sit down on the carpet)
Gerald: (Wipes his monocle with his tie) Now, let me tell you a story. Now, do be aware that I may not explain the full details.
(Brooke and Maddie lean in interest)
Gerald: There once was a little girl. A peculiar one she was. Full of wonder and imagination. Now, although filled with that wonder, she was also naive like any other child.
(The lights went off, startling the two girls. One spotlight appeared pointing at a cardboard box in front of them. A shadow appeared and a little girl was seen)
Maddie(Excited): (Clapping) Oooh! Shadow puppets!
Gerald: She was creative, so creative that she made her stuffed animals come to life. Come to life to be her friends.
(The girl sitting down as multiple stuffed toys appeared around her. A stuff puppy approached her, and she hugged it)
Gerald: She needed something to fill her imagination. And she did. The little girl was interested in the wonders of Television and the stories that they share.
(The little girl sitting while looking at a flat screen TV)
Gerald: She was mesmerized by it all. She not only witnessed the event on screen, she would even try and play as if she was inside the story as well. And even sometimes she would theorize how she thinks the story would play out. Kind of like-
Brooke: How she comes up with fanfiction, right?
Gerald: Right.
(The girl moving around as the TV was on)
Gerald: Though, she had a hard time making friends. Coming off too strong and then eventually getting bullied various times.
(Shows the girl crying on a seat as other kids making fun of her)
Gerald: The young girl was in a cycle of struggle in finding where she belonged. The companions she would make would drift away and her family wouldn't understand. She was alone in the world.
(The girl, older, alone as people walk away)
Gerald: But she didn't let this stop her from being happy. She read manga, stories, watched tv and eventually discovered the wonders of fanfiction.
(The girl intently looking at a computer)
Gerald: But there was more. She let her imagination run wild as she wrote her own fanfiction. A story that you all are very aware of.
Brooke: The Ever After Chronicles.
Gerald: Yes. She worked on the first draft for months. Though there were a few plot holes that also needed to be fixed.
(shows the girl sitting while writing on a book)
Gerald: And she went beyond. Her imagination grew as she created a place where her stuffed friends with their own personalities and backgrounds can live and her ideas can take the next step. The Fandom Theater.
(The girl putting on a dragon hood as she created the outside of the theater and the stuff animals forming into their human forms. Then the light turned on and the flashlight off and Gerald stepped in front of the girls)
Brooke: So, all those employees…
Maddie: Were once stuffed animals that turned to life by VP's imagination?
Gerald: Well, not all of them. Only most. I on the other hand came from when she tried to make friends with a mouse. And since then, I have been observing her for years.
Brooke: But why all the secrecy. Why hide it all? And why us?
Gerald(Sad): *sigh* remember what I said that her friends drift away from her?
(They nodded)
Gerald: Well, she still has that problem. It's just that most people in her lives truly don't understand or listen to her in the real world. And I don't think that would change any time soon. Not even her parents know the real her. And if they did… she would be more alone than ever before.
Brooke: So you're implying that… she's lonely.
Gerald: The sad thing is that… All of this is her own world. She tries so hard to find those that interest her in order to feel like she belongs. But it doesn't change that she is a teenager pretending to be a child in her own world who longs to be understood.
Maddie: (looks almost about to cry) That… that's so tragic!
Brooke: So what should we do about it? How can we get her and the others to open up?
Gerald: I don't know.
Brooke: What? But-
Gerald: After all my years of observing VP, I don't have a clue of how to get her to talk about these things. But take my advice, don't pressure her, it never helps. Be patient, be there for her, and maybe then can she trust you.
(They both look thoughtful of this and nodded)
Gerald: Good, now shall I continue the tour?
(Scene: Fandom Theater - Food Court)
(The two girls were at a table as Maddie was drinking her tea and Brooke lost in thought. Kitty in her work uniform comes to them)
Kitty: Hey, how's the tour? I swear, they can't keep giving me these kinds of punishments.
Maddie: Kitty-cat, you always did cause trouble back in Ever After High. No matter where you go, mischief follows.
Kitty: (Kisses Maddie's cheek and purrs) I like how you know me so well. (Looks at Brooke) What's up with her?
Maddie: She's been up in the clouds for a while now.
Brooke: (Snaps out of it) Sorry, just… I don't know.
Kitty: About what?
Brooke: Wh-... what do you think is gonna happen?
(They shrug at her question, and Brooke groans in frustrations)
Maddie: (Puts a hand on Brooke's shoulder in assurance) Hey, now. I know that VP keeps her secrets but like Gerald said.
Kitty: Who?
Maddie: It's best to let VP share in her own time. She had to go through hard times being alone. What she needs right now is friends by her side no matter what!
Brooke: (Smiles) Right!
Maddie: Yes!
Kitty: (Confused) Okay, seriously. What did you guys do while I was gone?
(Scene: Security Room)
(VP is seen watching the girls through the cameras and smiles at them. Then a purple and green glowing light appears behind her and she turns around)
(There, a symbol glowed that showed a purple witch hat floating in front of her that glowed of purple and green)
VP: Ah. It's almost time.
