The Smash Brothers Mansion was coming to life with the dawn, rays of golden light streaming through the large glass windows that lined the hallways. Heroes from across worlds gathered in the common area, most already preparing for their training sessions, others yawning and dragging themselves to the breakfast tables, hoping a hearty meal would wake them from their groggy states.

At one of the countless long tables, Link, Zelda, Toon Link, and Young Link sat together, bowls of warm porridge, fruit, and freshly baked bread lay before them. Typically, breakfast was a time for them to joke around, share stories of their adventures, and discuss the plans for the day. But today was different. All four sat quietly, each nursing a deep unease that had followed them out of their dreams. They were far too preoccupied to even touch their food. All of them were lost in the thoughts of the things they had seen.

Zelda, her eyes shadowed with exhaustion, was the first to speak. She pushed her half eaten bowl of porridge away, staring down at her hands, as if trying to shake off the remnants of whatever vision haunted her as she chugged down her 4th cup of tea she had this morning as if it would help her will herself to say what she wanted to say.

"I had a nightmare last night," she murmured, more interested in the swirling of tea than looking up at the 3 Link's faces. "I can't remember most of it... but I know... the Temple of Worlds was important. I saw it clearly—up in the Thunderous Mountains. It felt... like it was calling to me."

At her words, Link's expression darkened, and he set down the loaf of bread he was holding. "A nightmare?" he echoed. "I had one too. But... mine was... different." He shook his head, as if trying to dislodge the images. "I saw myself... but it wasn't me. I was... turning into Ganondorf—his face, his voice, all of it. And the more I fought it, the more I felt myself becoming him. Like... I was losing myself."

Both Toon Link and Young Link exchanged glances, a wave of fear passing between them. "We... we had nightmares too," Young Link said quietly, his voice barely more than a whisper. He felt the need to explain, to share the burden with those who might understand. "I saw a Hyrule filled with... children. Children that... well…they were very creepy and…well…they were playing like it was the only thing they could do. They were... happy, but not... in a real way. It was as if they were... stuck in some way."

Toon Link fidgeted nervously with his spoon, staring down into his porridge. "I saw an ocean," he said finally. "An endless ocean…A sea that drowned the whole world. There were... towns under the water, and the sky was dark, and... I could hear something calling out from beneath the waves. It... felt like it was pulling me under...and my legs…well…They felt like they were being ripped apart by something…"

Zelda's eyes widened as she listened, a chill running down her spine. "This... this is too much to be a coincidence," she said, her voice hushed but urgent. "Four nightmares... all of them different, but all of them... wrong."

Link shook his head, "Has anyone else in the Smash Brothers had any nightmares or something?"

"None that I know of." Zelda said grimly. "It only seemed to have happened to the four of us. The four from Hyrule."

"That is too much of a coincidence. Mario looked as if nothing bad is in his mind, Sonic is as carefree as ever, and who knows what is in Snakes mind." Young Link said.

"If it is only happening to Hyrulians, I am not one to find and ask Ganondorf." Toon Link said sarcastically, "And his idea of a nightmare might be the best dream for us even if he was a smash brother for all of 5 minutes."

Link nodded, his hand instinctively moving to the hilt of his sword, which lay at his side even while they ate. "Something's happening," he said, his tone grim. "These dreams... they're trying to tell us something. We can't just ignore them."

"But what could they mean?" Toon Link asked, looking back and forth between the three of them. "I mean, nightmares are one thing, but... it feels like... they're more than just dreams."

"Agreed," Young Link said, his small hands clenched into fists on the table. "I think... we need to go to the Temple of Worlds. If Zelda's dream is right, maybe that's where we'll find the answers."

"What even is 'the temple of worlds' anyway?" Toon Link asked.

"It's a temple that according to legend holds the map of the entire multiverse." Zelda said as she bit into a pear "It is said that it if one were to describe a universe, even a vague description of one, it would find it."

"Really?" Toon Link said "So like there could be a world where like, I don't know a world where you are having coffee instead of tea, or a world where like half of us have our genders swapped or something?"

Zelda nodded "It is possible." She said, "There are an infinite number of universes and a near infinite number of possibilities, so in essentials yes. Our actions or the actions of those in the past, present and future can shape or create another universe."

"…I see" Toon Link said in a voice that clearly showed he had no idea what Zelda was talking about.

Young Link sighed "It's basically a giant map room showing an infinite number of worlds basically." He said to Toon Link.

Zelda nodded resolutely, her eyes meeting Link's with an unspoken understanding. "Since we have some idea of the possible worlds we have seen, then we might be able to find something, we leave as soon as we're ready," she said. "But... I think we'll need more than just the four of us. If something's coming, we're going to need allies."

Link tapped his fingers thoughtfully on the table. "Right. If this is as serious as it feels, we should bring some of the others. People we trust—people who know how to handle... whatever it is we might find."

They fell into silence, each of them running through a list of potential allies in their minds. Finally, Zelda broke the silence. "Mario," she said. "He's always reliable. And... Peach too. She was there last night when I woke up from the nightmare. If she's with us, I'll feel safer."

"Sonic should come," Link added. "He's fast, and if things get messy, we might need speed on our side."

"I'll get Kirby," Toon Link said quickly, a small smile forming on his face. "He's always ready for an adventure. And I think... he might know something. I don't know why, but... I have a feeling."

The plan settled among them like the calming of waters after a storm. The fear and confusion from their nightmares still lingered, but there was a sense of determination now, an understanding that whatever these visions meant, they would face it together. Each of them had seen a glimpse of something terrible, and if they didn't find out what was going on soon, that terrible future could become all too real.

Link stood up, the chair scraping against the floor as he did so. He held out a hand to each of them, looking around the table with resolve. "Let's prepare," he said. "We gather our friends. And then... we head to the Temple of Worlds."

The others nodded in agreement, rising from their seats, their breakfast long forgotten. They felt an urgency in their steps as they left the table, a sense of being called to action by something greater than themselves.

And as they went to find their allies—Mario, Peach, Sonic and Kirby —the shadows of their nightmares hung over them, a constant reminder that something dark was on the horizon. Something that would lead them deep into the heart of the Thunderous Mountains, and to a temple filled with secrets that had been locked away for centuries... secrets that were beginning to stir, waiting for the right moment to awaken.

The sound of the jet engines hummed softly as the group of heroes flew over the rugged landscape of Hyrule's Thunderous Mountains. The wide, open sky stretched far into the distance; its bright blue broken only by the occasional wisp of cloud, and a few birds here and there. Inside the jet, Link, Toon Link, Young Link, Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Peach, and Kirby sat in their seats, the mood much tenser than the clear skies outside. Mega Man, Tails and Otacon had designed the jet to be able to fly anywhere in the world without a pilot and even though Link, Zelda, Mario and Sonic could fly a plane, all of the heroes were in the jets lounge.

Sonic, legs kicked up on the seat in front of him, tried to break the silence as he tapped his fingers against the armrest in a rhythmic pattern. "So, anyone wanna tell me why we're taking this trip all the way up to some temple in the middle of nowhere?" Sonic said "I mean, your brief explanation at what the temple is and all that is nice, I mean, a place with the map of god knows how many worlds an universes, but all you said apart from that is that you need my help for something, and I came however I would be nice to tell us what is going on, feels like there's something you're not telling us."

Link, arms crossed and staring out the window, sighed before turning back to face Sonic. "It's... well, it's kind of hard to explain," he started. "Zelda and the rest of us... we've all been having these nightmares. And they're not just normal dreams—they're more like visions. Dark... twisted versions of worlds we know."

Peach leaned forward from her seat, her expression softening with concern. "Nightmares? Oh, that's awful! What... what exactly did you see?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine sympathy. "I didn't hear much from Zelda but this doesn't sound very good, considering what happened the last time each one of you had such a nightmare."

Zelda, who was seated next to Link, nodded slowly, trying to put her fear into words. "In my dream... I saw so many things. So many places that felt... wrong. There were flashes of a temple—a place deep in the mountains that seemed to be important. But when I woke up... I couldn't remember all of it. Just... pieces…There was a world that looked too dark…and I think a world that looked to be in an eternal twilight…but that's all I can recall."

Mario rubbed his chin, his brows furrowed as he tried to make sense of it all. "That's-a... strange," he said, his voice tinged with confusion. "You're-a saying you all-a had different nightmares, but-a they felt real?" He fiddled with a pen as if it would help him with his train of thought. "I have been there, but most of the ones I had were good…this however…it-a doesn't sound to be very good."

"Yeah," Toon Link replied, his small frame leaning against the window as he recounted his dream. "I saw an ocean. But... it wasn't the kind of ocean I'm used to. I have seen big endless oceans but that one felt as if I would never see land ever again…It felt like the sea had swallowed up everything. There were towns underwater, just... gone. And I felt like I was drowning. Like something... wanted to pull me down."

Young Link shuddered, the memory of his nightmare still fresh in his mind. "Mine was... different," he added. "It was Hyrule, but... not. There were children everywhere playing, laughing... but it wasn't well…real. They were forced to be happy, like they couldn't stop even if they wanted to. And the sky... it was never day or night. And I don't think I seen anyone older than like…12…"

The jet was silent for a moment as everyone took in what they were hearing. The only sound was the drone of the engines and the occasional rustle of wind. Peach placed a hand over her heart, her eyes wide with sympathy. "That sounds... horrible. You must be so scared. I'm so sorry... I can't imagine what that feels like."

Mario, still rubbing his chin, looked between the four of them. "But... it's-a just dreams, right?" he asked hesitantly. "Dreams-a can be scary, but they're-a just in your head. Maybe it's-a just stress or-a... something. But…" Mario paused and shook his head as if to stop himself from saying something he thought would be rude to say.

"Maybe," Link muttered, though he didn't sound convinced. "But it's just... they felt too real. Too... connected. And then Zelda's vision about this temple... it feels like there's something waiting for us there. Something we need to understand."

Sonic, leaning back in his seat and trying to lighten the mood, offered a half-smile. "Hey, come on, guys. Maybe it's just one of those things, you know? A bad night, a freaky dream... happens to the best of us." He let out a nervous chuckle. "I mean, yeah, it's weird that you all had nightmares at the same time, but... it could be just a coincidence, right?"

"But what if it's not?" Young Link asked, his small voice trembling slightly. "What if it's... a warning?"

Sonic's half-smile faltered, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Yeah... I mean, sure, could be a warning," he conceded. "I mean, I can think of like 3 incidents where we were warned on something coming because of a dream, and yet…this thing seems to be too comical…But you know, whatever happens, we'll handle it together, right? Just like always." He shot a glance at Kirby, hoping for some backup.

Kirby, sitting on the edge of his seat with his legs dangling off, seemed entirely carefree. The little pink hero smiled broadly, his eyes twinkling with innocence and optimism. "Poyo!" he said cheerfully, swinging his legs back and forth. He waved his small arms in excitement. "Kirby thinks it's nothing! We'll go to the temple, and everything will be okay!"

The sight of Kirby's endless optimism drew a small smile from Toon Link, though it was tinged with worry. "I hope you're right, Kirby," he said softly.

"Me too," Zelda added, her voice steady but tinged with unease. She turned to Link, who met her gaze with understanding. "But until we know what's going on... we can't ignore this. If there's even the slightest chance that these dreams are a sign, we have to find out what they mean."

The jet continued on its course, the mountains growing larger and larger as they drew nearer to the Temple of Worlds. Each of the heroes sat with their own thoughts—Peach clutching her hands together in silent support for her friends, Mario trying to wrap his mind around the strange dreams, Sonic shifting uneasily in his seat but trying to put on a brave face, and Kirby maintaining his carefree optimism, certain that whatever awaited them would be something they could handle.

But despite their varied reactions, all of them shared the same underlying feeling—that they were being pulled into something much larger, much darker, than any of them could fully comprehend. And as the jet began its descent toward the temple nestled in the heart of the mountains, the unease they felt only grew stronger, like a shadow on the horizon that they could not escape.
