Episode 67: Marx's Surgical Fright*
(The episode begins in an infirmary room in Dream Land where Marx is lying on a hospital bed. The Dream Friends and the Dream Squad are gathered around him, showing concern. A doctor is beside the bed preparing for the procedure.)*
Doctor* Now, Marx, the operation to relieve your constipation is straightforward, and you'll feel much better afterward.
Marx* (nervously) I-I'm not so sure about this, guys. I mean, surgery sounds pretty scary!
Adeleine* (reassuring) Don't worry, Marx! You're in good hands, and we'll all be here when you wake up!
Magolor* Yeah, Marx! You'll be zipping around and causing mischief before you know it!
(Suddenly, Marx springs up from the bed, a look of panic in his eyes.)*
Marx* Nope, nope, nope! I can't do this! I'm outta here!
(Marx dashes out of the room, somehow still feeling quite spry despite his condition. The rest of the group exchanges surprised glances before chasing after him.)*
Tiff* (shouting) Marx, wait! It's for your own good!
(The chase is on, with Kirby rolling behind the group and Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice sprint in hot pursuit, dodging beds and medical equipment in the hallway.)*
Cuphead* You can run all you want, but that won't fix your tummy trouble!
Mugman* We're just trying to help you, buddy!
(Through magical comms, Susie contacts the far-off members of the dream squad.)*
Susie* Attention all, we have a Code Maroon: Marx is fleeing his mandatory health procedure. Assistance required!
(Cut to Billie and Fantoccio, who are just outside the hospital building, waiting to provide backup.)*
Billie* Looks like it's our time to shine, Fantoccio.
Fantoccio* Indeed, Billie. The show must go on, and for Marx, it's a rather... intestinal act!
(As Marx darts across the hospital lobby, Tuff tosses a well-aimed lasso to try and snare him, but Marx narrowly evades.)*
Tuff* Darn, he's slippery as an eel!
(Taranza floats gracefully overhead, trying to use his magical webs to catch Marx from above.)*
Taranza* Please, Marx, cease this tomfoolery. The sooner you're treated, the sooner we can return to our adventures.
(Marx, however, uses one of his tricks to cut through the webs. Drawcia and Elline join forces, attempting to conjure a magical barrier to block his exit.)*
Drawcia* (chanting) Winding paths that twist and fold, block the one who flees and hold!
Elline* And may colorful bonds prevent his escape!
(The barrier appears, but Marx laughs and performs a high-flying leap over it.)*
Dark Meta Knight* (gruffly) Stand aside. I'll handle this.
(Dark Meta Knight takes off with great speed and precision, cornering Marx near the exit.)*
Dark Meta Knight* There's nowhere left to run, Marx. Face your fears!
Marx* (panicked) No! I can't! I'd rather eat a hundred Maxim Tomatoes than go through surgery!
Shadow Kirby* (telepathically to Kirby) Now, Kirby. Let's do this together.
(Kirby nods and together with Shadow Kirby, they create a combined Star Spit attack that gently captures Marx in a cozy star bubble. Marx finally stops struggling, realizing he is safe and surrounded by friends.)*
Kirby* Poyo poyo!
Marx* (defeated) Okay, okay... I'll do the surgery. But you all better stay with me!
(The Dream Squad and the Dream Friends console Marx and lead him back to the operating room.)*
Galactic Knight* Remember, Marx. True courage is facing what scares you. And with friends by your side, you have nothing to fear.
(The screen fades as the group enters the operating room, showing their unwavering support for their fearful friend.)*
Narrator* And so, with the encouragement of his friends, Marx faces his fears and learns that sometimes, the scariest obstacles can be overcome with a little help.
(The episode ends with a still of everyone gathered around Marx's bed, giving thumbs up as Marx gives a half-hearted smile, ready for his procedure.)*
The End.*
