Francine spread the food over the picnic blanket and looked at Liu Kang.
"I tried making the mooncakes you were talking about. I tried one of them, and it's good." Francine placed the mooncake on a napkin and handed it to Liu Kang. "I got tea for us, too."
"You keep spoiling me. I do not want to get fat." Liu Kang bit into the mooncake, though something was off about it. "Cheesecake?"
"The kind you told me to make, the one with the egg inside, felt weird, so I just did cheesecake filling."
"It's unexpected, but it's still delicious." Liu Kang popped the rest of the mooncake in his mouth.
"I'm happy you like it; I was worried you wouldn't. Here, have another one." Francine hand-fed Liu Kang another mooncake.
Liu Kang pushed the hair out of Francine's face, getting a look at her brown eyes. The youthfulness in her eyes sparkled back at him.
"Does your face ever hurt?" Liu Kang rubbed his thumb over her skinned face.
"No, there's just not a lot of feeling in my face anymore."
Liu Kang's tail flicked at the cuteness of Francine's being. The last time these feelings overtook him was when he still had his Kitana. He pressed a kiss against Francine's forehead.
"Thank you…" Liu Kang said.
