Interlude: Morro

"It is your destiny to guide and protect the Green Ninja in preparation for the Final Battle."

That was her life's goal, as told by her father. Since she could remember, this was what her life was always meant to be. After all, she was the granddaughter of the First, great things were to be expected of her. She, for the sake of the sixteen realms, must not fail.

Her father had, but eight months ago, decided it was time to seek out the descendants of the four primary elements. He had recruited them all, save for lightning. The whereabouts of the missing element was currently unknown, father had only said that the family he was supposed to go to had not received him. But it was only a mere annoyance at this stage, and thusly water had been temporarily subbed in for lightning.

The masters were not what she had expected at all, they were cocksure idiots in their late teens. Utterly unworthy of the vast power which lay within them. Father had assured her that, with time, these cretins would mature to the point where they would prove worthy. Which seemed like it would never come.

It is why father had not deigned to teach them the deeper lore to the elements and the world itself, to prevent them from rash action in an ill-fated attempt to prematurely trigger the chain of events.

And today was such a day that aforementioned immaturity would come back to strike them. Rumors of the return of Garmadon had been picked up on the mid-range scanners. In some mountain village no more than a day's journey from the monastery, warranting herself and father to stand guard should this be a diversionary expedition. The four 'ninja,' they called themselves, an insulting term which father indulged, had taken off on the elemental dragons to take care of the threat, leaving one of the four weapons for paranoia's sake.

The nunchucks of Lightning did not respond well to Nya, the master of water, hardly a surprise, what with the calmness of the water compared to the more chaotic element of lightning. That's how it was decided to bar her from their use, with the last time causing much damage to the training course.

It was of no surprise that the ninja had returned two hours later, dejected and full of frustration. The rumors were misleading, Kai had said it was some kid claiming to be the son of Garmadon, and that they had taken care of it. Apparently by way of child-abuse, hanging the young boy by coat to a sign.

Which is why she was herself in the village, searching for the boy. If he was who he said he was, then he was her cousin, and her father would know what to do with him. Oni blood, if left unchecked for too long, could sow the seeds of chaos throughout the lands, potentially bringing about disaster.

Her target was there, but not alone. The foolish boy had released the serpentine. Her father needed to be informed of this.

That's my take on this version of Morro: raised by Wu, she should be a stoic warrior, who does not let her judgement be clouded, and be much more informed than the ninja, who at this point are immature due to it being roughly around the start of season 1.
