This was originally 15 pages long when combined with the chapter I posted last week. With a good kick a tail from my Co-Author, we came to the conclusion that this should be split into two. I'm glad I did.

Thank You MisaRae!

Little did the two toms know that there was one other witness they hadn't noticed. She had just been going through her normal evening routine, which included a run by the river, when she came to Make Out Point just in time to see the two toms take Snow's body out of the trunk, throw it in the river, then shoot the occupants of the second car. She hid behind a row of bushes, waiting for the two toms to leave. Once the last rays of sun had completely left the sky, leaving only the soft glow of the moon and streetlights to see by, she emerged from her hiding spot. Unable to help herself, she walked over to the teenagers' car and peeked inside.

Immediately, she wished she hadn't as she took in the large hole in the chest of the teenaged she-cat, and the pool of blood that had gathered under the teenaged tom. Her stomach roiled, and she found herself turning to her left and losing what was left of her lunch. Once she had finally recomposed herself enough, she reached into her fanny pack and drew out her cell phone. It took a few tries, since her hands were shaking, but she finally contacted the Enforcers and told them what she had seen."

A few hours had passed since Lisa, Mark, and Jones started their patrol. They were just finishing their dinner break when the radio screeched, "Car 701, 705, ambulance 5. Respond to River and 45th. Possible multiple GSW, reported. Respond code 3."

Mark got up first and said, "That's us. Why would there be a shooting at Makeout Point?"

As Mark was speaking, Lisa and Jones got up, gathered their trash onto their trays, and dumped the garbage into the nearest trash can before following Mark out of the burger joint to their car. They all got in as Mark started the car. He said as he put the car in gear and turned on the emergency lights, "Hang on, Jones." He slammed the car into gear and took off, leaving two strips of rubber in the lot.

Six minutes later, they arrived at "Makeout Point". They all got out of the car with their guns drawn and had just started to secure the site when the other patrol car arrived.

The she-cat that had called in the crime scene saw the first patrol car arrive and ran over to it. As Jones got out of the car, she ran to him and began to cry into his shoulder.

Jones placed the arm that was not holding his gun around her and asked very calmly, "What happened, ma'am?"

The she-cat pulled back and replied, "A black sedan showed up and two toms got out, removed something from the trunk, and threw it in the river. They then went over to the car over there," she pointed to the car behind her, "and shot the two teenagers. They are dead!" She lowered her head and started crying again.

Lisa started to walk towards the car, while Mark went over to the river and saw something floating in the water. He removed his belt and shoes before diving in. He swam over to the object, latched his right arm around it, and pulled it back to the shoreline.

Lisa arrived at the car that held the two dead teenagers. She had her gun drawn and held it at her waist with both of her paws wrapped tightly around the hilt. She crouched down so that she was below the windows and could not easily be seen. She then brought her gun up level with her chin and cocked it, just to be ready for anything. Lisa slowly uncurled her left paw from around the gun and reached for the handle of the car door. Lisa took a few deep breaths in order to calm down before she opened the door and sprang up, turning toward the inside of the car, and training her gun on the seats. Not seeing anything moving, she lowered her gun and holstered it. That was when her eyes caught sight of the two naked teenagers in the back seat with bullet holes in their heads. She quickly closed her eyes and turned away from the morbid sight.

Mark was now dripping wet and sitting on a rock, breathing heavily and leaning slightly forward. He looked down at the lifeless body at his feet. He said, "Who the hell did you piss off to deserve this?" He then noticed an envelope sticking out of the breast pocket of the jacket that the body was wearing. He took the envelope out of the jacket, which he knew was against protocol, and he would deal with the repercussions later if anyone found out that he had done so. He read the envelope and it said, "Your Majesty." Mark read the envelope again, just to make sure that he was not seeing things. He could not figure out who this envelope should go to, or even who this "majesty" even was. He turned to Lisa and said, "We had better call the Commander. I think that this investigation has now gone way above our pay grade."

Tina and Katerina snuggled together in the bed, their hearts still racing, and their bodies still trembling in the aftermath of the pleasure they had just shared. Tina could both feel and hear the way Katerina was purring, and she reveled in it. She loved hearing Katerina's purr. It was not only music to her ears; it was the most erotic sound that she had ever heard. Tina knew beyond a doubt that she was deeply in love with Katerina, even though they'd only known each other for less than a day. The connection she felt was like no other she had ever experienced, and she never wanted it to end. She whispered against Katerina's fur, "I love you, Katerina. I love you so much. Please don't ever leave me."

Katerina heard Tina's declaration of love, and couldn't help but respond, "I love you, too, Tina, and I have no plans of ever leaving you."

Tina squeezed Katerina even tighter in acknowledgement, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. Her heart would be safe this time. She was sure of it."

Ulysses sat there with a lump in his throat while he waited for Callista to answer his question. He was actually so nervous that he could feel himself sweating. He loved her, and he knew that she loved him, but for him to more or less ask her to be his wife so soon and so publicly was something he was not quite ready for. Although, now that the question was out in the open, he would know where he actually stood with her, when she answered.

Callsita looked into Ulysses' eyes and saw how nervous he was while he waited for her answer. She smiled and replied, "When the time is right, Ulysses, and if you ask me properly, I might be willing to be your wife."

Ulysses breathed a sigh of relief. He got up out of his seat and kneeled in front of her. Ulysses looked into her sparkling green eyes, locked his arms around her neck, and kissed her.

Jake and Felina just sat there, watching Ulysses first act like a very nervous teenager asking his crush out on their first date, to a full-grown tom who was hopelessly in love with the she-cat of his dreams in the span of just a few minutes. Jake and Felina held each other's' paws as Ulysses kissed Callista right there in front of them. Felina said, "I can't wait to tell Callie that my uncle has more or less proposed to her grandmother. She is going to hit the roof when she hears that Ulysses is going to be her grandfather."

"I think she already knew that, my dear. So don't go and spoil any surprises for Callista and your uncle," Jake replied, then kissed her paws.

The phone in Ulysses' jacket pocket started to ring. He pulled back from the kiss and said, "Of all the stupid timing." He turned to Felina and said, "I can't wait for you to take my job so I don't have to deal with this crap." He finally retrieved the phone from his pocket and barked into it, "This is Feral."

"Commander, we need you at River and 45th. There was a triple murder down here. But there is more, one of the victims had a note in his coat addressed to 'Your Majesty'. Any idea who that could be?" Jones asked.

Ulysses contemplated what Jones had just told him. He looked at Callista before turning his attention back to the phone. He replied, "I think I know who it is addressed to. I will be there shortly." He closed the phone and put it back before looking down at his plate with a solemn expression on his face.

While Felina was used to seeing her uncle be all business, the worry lines that creased his brow concerned her very much. She took Jake's paw in hers and asked, "Is everything alright, uncle?"

Ulysses looked over to Callista and then at Felina. He sighed and replied, "There was a triple murder down on River St. One of the victims had a note addressed to 'Your Majesty' on him." He turned again to Callista and said, "I guess that note is for you, my queen." He took her paws in his and said, "I need to head over there and see what is going on. I want you to go home with Jake and Felina. Once inside, lock your door."

Callista was not going to let Ulysses head over there by himself, especially when that note had been obviously written to her. She withdrew her paws from Ulysses' and placed them on her hips. She then said, "This involves me and possibly my family If you think that I am just going to sit at home while the big, strong tom handles everything, you are dead wrong!"

Ulysses looked deeply into her green eyes and literally saw tiny flames dancing in the depths. Seeing them made it clear to him that she was definitely not happy with him at the moment. So in order to avoid a magical incident, he said, "Fine, I will take you with me. But please stay in the car."

"I'll stay in the car, but only because you asked me to," Callista replied.

Ulysses and Callista got up from the table, followed by Jake and Felina. On the way out of the restaurant, Jake paid the bill and thanked Antonio for his hospitality. He caught up with the rest outside of the restaurant.

Felina was giving her uncle a hug and saying, "Please be careful, uncle. You have a girlfriend to think about now. It's not just you anymore, so cool it on the risks you take, okay?"

Ulysses placed his right arm around Callista's waist and replied, "I know what I have, and I am not planning on losing her again. I meant what I said in there, and one day, I will ask her to marry me." He turned to Jake and said, "Jake, I don't know if I ever told you, but Felina means so much to me. She is like the daughter I always wanted, but never had. Please love her and take care of her, always. She could have not fallen for a better tom."

"Thank you, Ulysses. I promise that I will love her for the rest of my life, and our kitten will want for nothing," Jake replied as he took Felina's paw in his.

Ulysses went and got into his car. He started it and drove to the front of the restaurant. He got out and opened the door for Callista. Ulysses went to Callista, took her paw in his, and escorted her to the car. He then helped her into the car and closed the door.

They drove in silence as Ulysses pondered what happened in the restaurant. He stole a quick glance at the beautiful she-cat sitting to his right and then back to the road. He thought to himself, 'How could I just blurt out that I want to marry her one day? We have not even had a single date, and I said something like that? What the heck is wrong with me?' He took another glance at Callista, this one a shade longer than the last. He then thought, ''I'm in love with her, so it's actually not what's wrong with me, but what is right.'

They arrived at Make Out Point and Ulysses parked the car outside of the marked off area. Ulysses opened the door, but before he got out, he turned and said to Callista, "Please stay here. If this is truly a triple murder, you are not going to want to see what is behind this tape." He leaned over and kissed her lips before getting out.

Ulysses walked around the front of his car and over to the crime scene. He lifted the crime scene tape over his head and walked under it. As he walked further into the crime scene, he looked to his right and saw Mark sitting on a rock with Lisa's right arm over his shoulders, holding a blanket over him. From what Ulysses could see, Mark was soaking wet. Ulysses made his way over to him and asked, "What happened, son?"

Mark looked up and saw the Commander looking down at him. He replied, "Sir, we were called to investigate a possible triple homicide here. When we arrived, a witness came over to the car and fell into Jones' arms. I assume she told him what she saw. They are over by the ambulance. I went to the river's edge and saw an object floating in it. I jumped in in order to bring the object to shore. Hence, why I am dripping wet. Officer Ericson went over and investigated the car and its occupants. You can get a statement from her, but please give her some time. I don't think she was ready to see the mess in that car."

Mark tried to get up, but Ulysses placed his left paw on his shoulder and said, "At ease, officer. Rest up. You all did well, son. I am proud of all of you."

Mark sat back down and replied, "Thank you, sir."

"No, son, thank you. Ericson, go and take him to the hospital and have him checked out," Ulysses said.

Lisa looked up at Ulysses and replied, "Yes, sir."

"If he gives you any problems, he will be busted back to traffic duty. Is that understood, Samuelson?" Ulysses ordered.

Mark replied, "Yes, sir." He stood up and walked over to the ambulance with Lisa right beside him.

Ulysses watched the two of them head off towards the ambulance. He felt such pride knowing that he had built a great base for the Enforcers to build off of, and that those two were perfect examples of how the Enforcers were supposed to be: going above and beyond what was expected of them at all times, not because they were ordered to, because they wanted to. He followed them over to the ambulance in order to get Jones' statement, and to make sure that the witness had been properly secured, for her own good.

As Mark stepped into the ambulance followed by Lisa, Ulysses turned to look at Jones, who was still comforting the witness. He walked over and asked, "Jones, can I speak to the witness, please?"

Jones turned his head away from the witness in order to look at the Commander and replied, "Commander, I am not leaving her side. You can ask whatever you need to, but I am not leaving her."

Ulysses was stunned by Jones' declaration. He had always seemed to be the type of officer to follow orders, no matter what, and here Jones was, defying his commander and telling him that he would not leave the witness' side. He replied, "You can stay, Jones. I just want to hear her side of what happened here." He turned to the witness and smiled in order to make her feel at ease. He could only imagine what she must have gone through, since she was hanging onto Officer Jones very tightly. Ulysses asked as he crouched down to her level, so as not to seem larger than life to her, then asked, "What is your name, ma'am?"

The witness looked into Ulysses' eyes through her tearful ones and replied, "My name is Candice."

"Candice, my name is Ulysses, and I am the Commander of the Enforcers. Do you need some water, coffee, or anything?" Ulysses asked.

"No, I am fine. Thank you," Candice replied.

Ulysses reached out, took Candice's paw in his, and gave it a comforting squeeze before asking, "I know that you have told all of this to Officer Jones already, but I need to hear it again to make sure we haven't missed anything. Do you feel well enough to do that, Candice?"

Candice wanted nothing more than to go home and lock the entire world away. Whoever those two toms were, they would surely come after her if they found out that she was a witness, and probably do the same thing to her that they had done to the other cats. She was not ready to die yet, nor did she want to. Candice looked away from Ulysses for a minute as a fresh round of tears started flowing at the thought of one of those toms coming to her door, knocking, and shooting her the moment she opened the door. She turned back to Ulysses and replied, "Sorry, I just want to go home and put this behind me."

Ulysses looked at her tearstained face and had to turn away, himself. He could not let her see his emotions getting the better of him. He had to be the rock that he had been trained to be, but it was a lost cause. The love that he felt for Callista had softened him to the point that he could not be an emotionless tom anymore. He turned back to Candice and said, "Alright, you don't have to right now. I am going to assign Officer Jones, as well as Officers Ericson and Samuelson to be your bodyguards for as long as they are needed. You are going to be placed under twenty four hour watch for your protection, Candice. You may go on with your life, but one of them will be by your side at all times. Would that be alright with you?"

Candice replied as she placed Ulysses in a hug, "Thank you, Ulysses. I just want to go home."

Ulysses turned to Jones and asked, "Can I talk to you for a minute?" as he stood up.

Jones turned to Candice and said, "If you want to, you can sit with Officers Ericson and Samuelson in the ambulance. Officer Samuelson may seem all big and bad, but trust me, my cousin would not be marrying him if he was as bad as he acts. You can trust them. I will be right back, Candice." He led her to the back of the ambulance, placed her inside, and nodded to Lisa before closing the door. He turned to Ulysses and asked, "Sir, what can I do for you?"

"First, why is she hanging all over you, son, and second, what did she tell you, exactly?" Ulysses asked.

"Sir, I guess she latched onto me like a brother. I just retuned the sentiment. As to what she told me, she was running down the road just over there when she saw a black sedan pull up, two toms get out, and they unloaded something from the trunk. They then threw it into the river before shooting the two teenagers in the car," Jones replied.

"Good job, Jones. So where is the body that Samuelson retrieved from the river now?" Ulysses asked.

"As far as I know, the coroner has it," Jones replied.

"Thank you, Jones. I assume I can trust you to get that assignment done and keep your emotions in check?" Ulysses asked as he raised his left eyebrow.

"Sir, I will make sure that she is protected and kept safe. As for my emotions, I will keep them in check, and if I can't, I will relieve myself of duty and let Officers Ericson and Samuelson handle the detail," Jones replied.

"I expect nothing less of you, Jones," Ulysses said.

"Sir, Officer Samuelson removed this note from the body before the coroner took it. I thought that you would want to see it," Jones said as he removed the envelope from his pocket.

Ulysses took the envelope from Jones and said, "Thank you, Jones. Now go and take your detail home."

Jones started smiling, since he was going to be with Candice again. He replied, "Sir, yes, sir."

Ulysses tried to open the envelope, but could not do it. He walked back to his car, holding the envelope in his paw. He had no idea what was in it. He opened his car door and sat down in the driver's seat before closing the door.

Callista turned to him and asked, "Is everything alright, Ulysses?"

"No, everything is not alright. I have a witness that has seen a triple murder and is scared to death. I have an officer who has to go to the hospital to get checked out from swimming in that so-called river. Worst of all, we never came to an agreement on the SWAT mess. Oh, I guess this is yours," Ulysses replied as he handed the envelope to her.

Callista took the envelope from Ulysses. She looked at the envelope briefly before opening it with ease. She removed letter that was inside and opened it. She read, 'Callista, if you are reading this, then your deception is now over. We know that you are alive and well, and that you have a granddaughter. She is a lovely looking she-cat, just like her grandmother, from what I have been told. It would be a shame to see someone so young and beautiful meet an early end.'

Callista felt her anger building as she read, and it peaked when they threatened Callie's life.

She continued reading, 'If you would like your granddaughter to keep breathing, I suggest that we meet at Ambrosia tomorrow night, and wear something nice. I want to see what everyone is talking about, since there is such a fuss about your extraordinary beauty.'

Callista lowered the letter and asked, "Ulysses, can you take me home, please?"

Ulysses looked at the love of his life and saw how upset she was. It hurt him to know that he could do nothing to help her, other than be there to support her. He said, "Just give me a few minutes to transfer command to one of the other officers. Then I will take you home." He got out of the car and returned to the crime scene.

Callista sat there fuming after Ulysses left her again. She needed an outlet for her anger, and she needed it soon, or it was going to consume her. She was not going to let that happen. She had let her anger get the best of her once, and the result had been half of an entire kingdom being obliterated.

Ulysses returned to the car and got in. He closed the door, turned to her, and asked, "Are you ready?"

Callista's eyes were now glowing red with rage. She turned to Ulysses, buried her head in his shoulder, and while she cried out of anger, she beat her fists against his chest. She said through her sobs, "I should have ended them, all of those centuries ago. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them!" She then let herself go and cried her eyes out, soaking the shoulder of Ulysses' jacket.

Ulysses placed his arms around her and drew her close to him, letting her emotions flow freely. He said, "I have you, Callista. I have you. I am not going to let anyone or anything get to you, ever."

Callista pulled back, but she was still upset. Her eyes were still red, and her anger was very visible. She said angrily, "Take me home now, Ulysses!"

Ulysses placed the car in gear and drove her back to her apartment. He drove in complete silence, and every once in a while he looked over to Callista just to check on her. At a stoplight, he turned to look at her and asked, "What did the letter say, Callista that made you so upset?"

Callista kept her gaze fixed out the window and replied, "They threatened Callie's life, Ulysses! They have the audacity to threaten my granddaughter's life! No one dares to threaten my family! Whoever this cat is, they really don't know who they are dealing with!"

Ulysses had never heard of or even seen Callista have a vindictive bone in her body. To hear her threaten to take another's life was very disturbing. He turned his attention back to the road in front of him and continued driving.

They arrived at her apartment and Ulysses parked the car. He walked around to the trunk and removed his bag before walking to the other side of the car and opening the door to let Callista out. They walked to the door of her apartment, and she opened it, letting them inside. Once upstairs, Callista went to her bedroom and Ulysses went to the kitchen to get a bottle of wine and two glasses. He also looked for Persival, figuring that he would want to know what happened. Not finding him, Ulysses went back to the living room and waited for Callista to return.

Callista entered her bedroom and closed the door behind her. She sat at her dressing table and withdrew the letter. She looked at the letter and her face scrunched up in anger as she remembered what it said. She set the letter on fire with just a thought and watched it burn in her paw. Once the letter was no more than a pile of ash, she removed her clothes and put on a nightgown, before heading back to Ulysses in the living room.

Ulysses heard her door open and rose to greet her. He stopped, mesmerized, at the vision before him. The last thing he had expected was to see her in such a low-cut nightgown, which showed off quite a bit of her breasts. His heart left his chest and ended up in his throat. With her long blonde hair swaying behind her, and the semi-formfitting nightgown, she looked positively angelic.

Callista took a seat on the couch and moved a few strands of her hair over her shoulder. Ulysses took a seat next to her and poured her a glass of wine. He said, "I thought you might need this after what happened this evening."

Callista took the glass from Ulysses and said, "Thank you, Ulysses. You are right. I do need this." She took a sip.

Ulysses took a sip from his glass before putting it down on the table. He took her glass from her paws and set it down on the table next to his. He took her paws in his and looked into her green eyes before asking, "What are you going to do, Callista?"

Callista replied, "I really don't know, Ulysses. Someone asked me to meet them at Ambrosia tomorrow, and I can only assume it isn't for a friendly chat. I can only assume that they want me to join them."

"You are not going to do that, are you? I have just gotten you back in my life after all of this time, and I have no intention of losing you again," Ulysses asked.

Callista replied, "No, I am not going to join them. If it is who I think they are, they are some of the most evil cats out there, and they are relentless in their pursuit of gaining wealth and power. I want none of that, Ulysses. The only thing I want to do is to live out my life, watching my family continue to grow, with my loving husband by my side for as long as I live."

The lump in Ulysses' throat grew bigger as Callista's declaration left her mouth. He was hopelessly in love with her, and to have her call him her husband not only made him nervous because he had fallen so far for her in such a short time, it also warmed his heart that she loved him as much as he loved her. He said, "That is what I want, too, Callista. I never had a family of my own, and now that my life is starting over with you possibly by my side, I feel that the void of not having a family has been filled. As far as you meeting this mystery cat, you are not going alone. I will be there with you every step of the way."

"I don't think that will be possible, Ulysses. From the way that letter was worded, this cat wants me to come alone. I don't want you risking your life, Ulysses. Besides, you have never seen me when I am really mad. I am a lot more powerful than I let on, and I don't take kindly to having someone threaten my family and friends," Callista said.

"You never cease to amaze me, my love, as to what you can do. However, you are still not going to meet this cat alone. I have no idea what his or her plans are, and I will be damned if I am going to let you be placed in a position where you feel that you need to defend yourself. I am going to talk to Jake and Felina about having SWAT back me up, as well as a few of my most trusted Enforcer officers. If anything goes wrong in there, I will have enough firepower at the ready to level that place if needed," Ulysses stated.

"All that, for little old me? Why?" Callista asked with a mock southern drawl as she ran her right paw over his chest.

Ulysses captured that stray paw and held it tightly in his as he replied, "Because, my love, you mean the world to me." He then leaned forward and captured her lips in a searing kiss.

After a few minutes of intense kissing, Callista pulled back and placed her head on his shoulder. She took her wine glass in her right paw while her left lazily drew circles on Ulysses' chest and abdomen.

Ulysses took that opportunity to wrap his arm around her, holding her close, with no intention of ever letting her go.

They sat like that for hours, until she fell asleep in his embrace. He removed the glass from her paw, picked her up, and carried her to her bedroom. Ulysses laid her down on the bed, covered her up to her chest, smiled as he looked at her angelic face, and then kissed her goodnight before heading back to the living room to sleep.

Callista was not having as pleasant dreams as she had hoped. All of them seemed to result in either her being captured, or Callie being kidnapped. One particular dream had Callie being shot dead in front of her. Callista woke up, screaming at the top of her lungs as she sat upright in her bed. She then leaned forward, placing her face in the palms of her paws and started crying.

Ulysses was not sleeping well, either, as he thought of how distraught Callista was. He heard her screaming, and he bolted off of the couch and ran to her as fast as he could. He opened her door and ran to her bedside before sitting on the edge and wrapping his left arm around her. He asked, "Are you alright, Callista?"

Callista felt his embrace and started to calm down as she felt his body's warmth flow through her skin. She wrapped both arms around him and leaned into his frame. She then said, "I am now. Please stay with me for the rest of the night, Ulysses."

Ulysses wanted to protect her at all costs, but to actually sleep beside her and try to be a gentleman was going to be very hard. He said, "Alright, Callista."

Callista slid to the left side of the bed, allowing Ulysses to take the right side. He pulled the covers up over the both of them while Callista placed her right arm under his neck and used his chest as a pillow. The sound of his heart beating lulled her into a deep sleep.

Ulysses looked down at his sleeping angel, and instinctively, wrapped his arms around her, protecting her from all harm. He fell into a blissful sleep soon afterwards.
