"Yu, wake up, you`re an adult now, I shouldn`t have to wake you up every morning," said Mrs. Ishigami as it was the first day of college. "Yeah, yeah," said Ishigami as he got up from his bed and walked to the bathroom. "Man first day of college already, feel like I`ve been out of school too long," Ishigami thought as he walked into the bathroom and brushed his teeth. "Here`s your breakfast," said Mrs. Ishigami as she placed a plate of toast in front of him.

"First day of college huh? Must be nice, I only have a high school diploma to my name, perhaps you can one-up your old man" said Mr. Ishigami as he looked up from his newspaper. "Don`t worry so much, just try to have fun at college" said Mrs. Ishigami. "I`m heading out," said Ishigami as he walked out the door and hopped on his bike.

"Man adulthood already," Ishigami thought as he rode down the street. "Well this will take some time to get used to," said Ishigami as he rode past Shuchi`in as he saw the students entering the school as he had been a high school student not too long ago. "The college shouldn`t be too far from here," said Ishigami as he was nearing the college as he rode past the other students entering the college.

College, the next step in a student`s education career after high school. This is the point where life tells you, shit`s about to get real. So buckle up.

Tokyo University

"Wow, there`s a lot of parking here," said Ishigami as he got off his bike. "Hey, what do you think you`re doing?" a parking attendant asked. "Uh I`m parking here, I`m a student at Tokyo University," said Ishigami as he showed the attendant his ID. "I see, but you can`t park here, you need to register your vehicle with the university" the attendant explained. "So where am I supposed to park then?" said Ishigami. "All right, I`ll let it slide today, but you need to register your bike to park here, take this map," said the parking attendant as he handed Ishigami a map before walking away.

"Damn, I gotta do extra steps just to get a parking spot now?" Ishigami thought as he was so used to being able to park at the Shuchi`in`s parking lot. "Guess I`ll worry about that later," said Ishigami as he left the parking area. "Wow, this place is huge," said Ishigami as he looked around the campus while looking at the map he picked up earlier.

"Where are the others, they said we would meet up," said Ishigami as he looked around trying to find his friends. "Hey over here," said Rei as she waved at Ishigami as she was with the others. "Oh hey, there you are, good morning everyone," said Ishigami as he walked up to them. "Late as always," said Miko. "The welcome ceremony`s about to start," said Kobachi as they walked into the assembly hall where the other freshmen were.

"Good morning everyone, to the new incoming freshmen, welcome to Tokyo University, I`m the current president at Tokyo University" said a male in a suit as he addressed the freshman class. "I want to take a moment to congratulate you for all making it to Tokyo University, the path here gets tougher, but through hard work, anything is possible, we wish you the best of luck during your time here," said the teacher as he walked off the stage.

"So where`s your first class?" said Kobachi as they walked down the hall together. "Oh uh I have a lecture on the second floor soon," said Ishigami. "We have separate lectures, why don`t we meet in the cafeteria for lunch," said Rei. "Yeah that sounds great, we`ll see you then," said Miko as the group went their separate ways.

"Guess we`re in the same class, what class is this again?" said Ishigami as he put his bag down on his seat. "This is English class, did you even read your schedule?" said Miko. "Didn`t really have time" said Ishigami as he took his seat next to Miko. "Well maybe read your schedule next time," said Miko as the professor walked into the room as the lecture started.

"How much longer until this lecture?" Ishigami thought as he found himself trying not to fall asleep during the lecture. "Pay attention, don`t fall asleep, that would be really embarrassing," said Miko as she took notes. "I`m trying, literature isn`t really my thing," said Ishigami. "Man this professor sounds so boring," Ishigami thought as he doze off despite his best attempts to stay awake.

"Mr. Ishigami, do you happen to find my class boring?" the professor asked to which Ishigami snapped back to reality. "No sir, I didn`t get very much sleep last night" Ishigami replied as he tried a basic excuse. "For someone who was the Student Council president of Shuchi`in Academy, you don`t seem very motivated as a student, this is college, not high school," said the professor to which everyone started laughing as Miko sighed. "My apologies, won`t happen again," said Ishigami as he rubbed the back of his head. "Uh-huh, see me after class," said the professor as he returned to teaching his lesson. "Just great," Ishigami thought as this was just what he needed.

After class

"Wow, wait to make a first impression," said Miko as Ishigami walked out of the classroom after being lectured by his professor. "Geez, I didn`t think college professors were this strict," said Ishigami as they walked down the hall. "What did you think was going to happen? You`re almost an adult now, anyways, let`s go to the cafeteria, Koba-chan and Rei said they`re already there" said Miko.

"So how`s everyone holding up so far?" Rei asked as they all sat down for lunch. "Everything`s fine for the most part, except for the part when Ishigami got caught sleeping during the lecture," said Miko to which Rei and Kobachi chuckled. "That sounds like something Ishigami would do," said Rei. "Yeah thanks for the feedback, what about you guys?" Ishigami asked as he took a bite of his fries.

"It`s been good so far, I`ve had a couple of boys ask me out already," said Kobachi. "You should be careful, some guys can be sleazy," said Miko. "I made some new friends, we`re supposed to hang out in a few days," said Rei. "Seems like we`re behind them in terms of social status" Ishigami whispered the Miko. "I`m not worried about that, my priority is to focus on academics" Miko replied as she took a bite of her katsudon. "Have that mindset and you`ll be a full-on introvert" said Ishigami as he took a bite from his burger.

"There`s a club festival happening later, we should all go down there to check it out," said Rei. "I`m down, I don`t have anything on my schedule planned," said Ishigami. "You wanna come Miko?" Kobachi asked. "I guess I can make some time considering I have time before my next class" Miko replied. "Alright, it`s settled then, let`s finish up lunch then head over to the festival," said Rei as everyone went about eating their lunch.

Later

"Geez there are so many people," said Ishigami as they walked through the club fair that was being held at the college. "Yeah, it`s like the winter festival," said Miko as she looked around. "We should find a club to join," said Kobachi. "Yeah, let`s meet up once we`ve found a club," said Ishigami as they went their separate ways around the festival.

"Huh, that club looks interesting," Ishigami thought as he noticed a booth with some students playing video games there. "Excuse me, what club is this?" Ishigami asked as he walked up to the booth. "The Gaming Club, you interested in joining?" asked a female student. "Is that Apex Legends you guys are playing right now?" Ishigami asked as he noticed a familiar game on the screen. "Yeah it is, do you play?" a male student asked. "Yeah, I`m in plat tier," said Ishigami.

"So you`re an expert at this game?" said the male student as everyone there seemed surprised by Ishigami`s statement. "I guess you could say that," said Ishigami to which the female student handed him a form. "In that case, welcome to the Gaming Club, just fill this form out and we`ll fill you out on the details," said the female student. "Well, that was easier than I thought," Ishigami thought as he filled out the form.

"So what club did you guys end up joining?" Rei asked as they were all back after finding a club. "I joined the fashion club," said Kobachi as she felt now would be a great time to get into fashion. "I joined the committee club," said Rei. "You were always pretty good with managing the festival committee," said Rei. "I joined the gaming club," said Ishigami. "The gaming club? Typical of you" said Miko. "What about you then? What club did you join?" Ishigami asked. " I didn`t really find a club to join," said Miko.

"If you don`t have a club to join, just join the video game club with me," said Ishigami as he handed Miko a flyer from the club. "Why would I join the same club as you?" Miko asked. "College isn`t just about work, it`s an opportunity to meet new people, considering you can`t find a club to join," said Rei. "I`ll think about it, anyways I gotta go to my class," said Miko. "Yeah I have a class as well," said Rei as she checked her phone. "Alright, I think it`s time we split again," said Kobachi as everyone went their separate ways.

3:30 pm

"Well at least my last class is done for the day," Ishigami thought as he walked out of the lecture hall. "Oh, that`s right, I need to register my bike with the college so I can park it there," said Ishigami. "Now where is the office," Ishigami thought as he pulled out the map of the college.

"Is this the affairs office?" Ishigami asked as he entered the main office. "Yes, how can I help you?" said a female receptionist. "Yes, I need to register my vehicle with the college," said Ishigami. "Okay, we`ll need you to fill out this form, we also need to verify your driver`s license," said the receptionist as she handed Ishigami a form to fill out. "All right done, here`s my license," said Ishigami as he handed his license over.

"Okay, it will take a week for the office to notify you of your new parking spot," said the receptionist as she gave Ishigami his license back. "A week? I thought this would be done on the spot" said Ishigami as he was expecting for the process to be done on the spot. "If it were that easy, there wouldn`t be an issue with parking spots, you`ll just have to wait until your spot gets approved," said the receptionist. "I understand, have a good day," said Ishigami as he finished the rest of the paperwork before leaving.

"Man, the first day of college is in the books," said Ishigami as he walked out of the campus. "At least I can go home and play video games," Ishigami thought as his phone rang. "Hello?" said Ishigami as he picked up the phone. "Oh hey Ishigami, are you coming to work today?" Yui asked. "Oh right, I forgot that I had work today," Ishigami thought. "Yeah I`m going to come, see you soon," said Ishigami. "Guess video game time is gonna have to wait," Ishigami thought as he rode to work.

8 pm

"I`m home," said Ishigami as he walked through the door. "Welcome home, how was your first day of college?" Mrs. Ishigami asked as Ishigami took his shoes off. "Great," said Ishigami as he grabbed a drink from the fridge. "Man I gotta do this for four years, I`ve got so little downtime," Ishigami thought as he booted up his video game to get some much-needed relaxation.

Two Days Later

"This is gonna take some time to get used to, at least math doesn`t bore me as much as English class," Ishigami thought as he sat through his math lecture. "Let`s see who can do this problem, let`s see Ishigami," said the professor as he called on Ishigami. "Oh uh yes," said Ishigami. "Can you come up to the board and show us how to do the problem?" said the professor.

"Sure, which problem?" Ishigami asked as he walked up to the board. "That one," said the professor as he pointed to a problem. "Okay this should be fine," Ishigami thought as he demonstrated the problem correctly. "That`s correct," said the professor. "I guess being the accountant of the Student Council prepped me well" Ishigami thought as he sat back down.

"Hey, you`re that guy who fell asleep in our English lecture," said a blond male as the math lecture was over. "Yeah, what about it," said Ishigami as he put his things in his bag "I`m Makoto. nice to meet you, I`m also in the gaming club," said the male as he extended his hand out. "Nice to meet you, Yu Ishigami`s my name," said Ishigami as he returned the handshake. "Hey, there`s something I`m planning later tonight with the guys, wanna tag along?" Makoto asked. "I have work, so I`ll swing by later," said Ishigami. "No worries, just call me if you can`t make it," said Makoto as they exchanged contact info.

Later in the evening

"Thank you all for your hard work today, see you all tomorrow," said Yui as everyone was getting ready to go home after another day of work. "Yeah, better head over before they start asking where I`ve been," said Ishigami as he walked outside and got on his bike to meet with his friends.

"Hey there you are, thanks for coming through despite your tough schedule," said Makoto as Ishigami walked up to him. "Yeah, are the others here?" Ishigami asked as they walked into the restaurant. "Yeah, they`re here," said Makoto as he opened the door to the room they had booked for the night.

"Ishigami? What are you doing here?" said Miko as she saw Ishigami walk into the room. "I could ask you the same thing, I thought you weren`t focused on social events," said Ishigami as they pointed at each other. "I came because Rei asked me to come," said Miko. "Oh hey Ishigami," said Rei as she looked up from her phone. "You two know each other?" Makoto asked. "Too well I`m afraid," said Ishigami as he knew this would be a fun time.

"What the hell man? You didn`t tell me there would be other girls" Ishigami whispered to Makoto as he noticed that there were five guys and five girls. "It was until one of my friends said he wanted to invite some girls over" Makoto explained to which Ishigami face-palmed himself. "Just great, I have a girlfriend already and I end up here, no wonder why most high school relationships fail," Ishigami thought as he hesitantly took a seat at the table.

"I`m Makoto Tachibana, this is Hiroshi Ito my childhood friend, and this is my new friend Yu Ishigami," said Makoto as he introduced himself along with the other guys. "I`m Suzu Takeru, this is Akane Miyamoto and these are my two new friends Rei Onodera and Miko Iino," said a blonde girl. "Nice to meet you two, isn`t that right Miko?" said Rei. "Oh uh yeah, nice to meet you," said Miko.

"Say, are you single by any chance?" one of the girls asked. "Oh uh, I`m taken at the moment," said Ishigami as it seemed that some of the girls had taken a liking to him. "Look at all those women, all swarming around Ishigami like mosquitos even though he`s taken," Miko thought as she watched. "Say what about you? Do you have a boyfriend?" one of the male students asked Miko. "No I`m single, I`m not interested in boys" Miko simply replied. "Oh? But you`re so cute, do you want to exchange contact info" said another male to which Miko perked up. "I`m cute? I guess all guys aren`t that bad, if you insist" Miko said with a flustered look on her face.

"Hey, wake up," said Ishigami as he chopped her on the head. "Oww, what`d you do that for?" Miko asked as she rubbed her head. "Just looking out for you," said Ishigami as he took a sip of his drink. "Why you, I`ll look out for you as well, come here," said Miko as she chased Ishigami out of the room. "And there they go again," said Rei as she watched the scene unfold.

"Try not to kill him Miko, we still need him alive," said Rei. "Are those always like that?" Makoto asked as he sat next to Rei. "Oh yeah, ever since middle school, they`ve been like a dog and cat" Rei replied. "Hey, you seem chill, wanna exchange contact info?" Makoto asked as he pulled out his phone. "Sure, I don`t see why not," said Rei as the two of them exchanged contact info.

Afterward

"Well that was something," said Ishigami as he and Miko walked to the train station as Miko wanted to leave the mixer early to study at home. "You didn`t need to get involved back there before, I can handle myself," said Miko. "Your expression said otherwise, guess I`ll have to be a chaperone for you anytime you want to go to a party," said Ishigami as he knew leaving Miko alone would end up with her going with a shady guy.

"You didn`t ride your bike today?" Miko asked as she noticed that they were walking together for once in a while. "Well, I have to wait for the college to approve my request for a parking spot" Ishigami replied. "You better not consider cheating on Fujiwara just because you`re in college, I saw you looking at some of the girls at the party," said Miko which seemed to catch Ishigami off guard.

"What are you talking about? I`m not a cheating type anyways, you know I don`t like cheating anyways" said Ishigami. "I`ll be watching you, if you try anything to hurt her, I won`t forgive you," said Miko. "Sure, just don`t look like an overprotective friend otherwise people will get weird ideas," said Ishigami. "Whatever, just watch your back," said Miko. "Geez, what`s with this girl? Dislikes me one moment then tells me she`ll be watching me, get your priorities straight woman" Ishigami thought as they got on the train.

Later in the evening

"So how`s college for you so far?" Chika asked as they were on a Zoom call. "Just great, I got lectured by my professor on the first day and got dragged into a mixer by one of my friends," said Ishigami. "A mixer? Don`t tell me you got flirty with other girls" said Chika. "God no, none of them were my type anyways," said Ishigami "That`s good to hear, if you had cheated on me, who knows what I would have done," said Chika. "Hey come on, don`t joke around stuff like that," said Ishigami to which Chika chuckled.

"Anyways, the first few weeks of college are always the roughest, just stay strong for the time being," said Chika. "Yeah, I got that, so when are you going to be back in Tokyo?" Ishigami asked. "Not too sure yet, maybe I`ll be back during the summer and fall for a bit," said Chika. "We should hang out sometime soon, let me know when you`re around," said Ishigami. "Anyways, I gotta go, love you," said Chika. "Likewise, see you soon," said Ishigami as he ended the call.

"Man this is tough," Ishigami thought as the first few days of college for him was nothing like he had expected. "Better learn how to get used to it," said Ishigami as he leaned back on his bed as the adult life was just getting started for him.
