The next day
Jet is out in a nice walk with his adoptive fox mom at the sidewalk in the streets of L.A., all while wearing a nice fine white t-shirt and some jeans with blue converse sneakers that fits his size, and the outside is feeling all warm with the sun shining with birds chirping while some people talking or texting with some cars driving with sound noises that makes this day a lot more relaxing and calm.
However, Jet and Diane are not alone in this walk. Mr. Wolf, Snake, Shark, Piranha, and Ms. Tarantula alongside Zero Gexter, Simon Bandicooton, and Bob Konga are also with them as well, as much as it makes it look like a nice family walk with happy chit-chatters and some warm responses, even for Zero or Simon or Bob make some funny jokes that would make them laugh with entertainment that gets in their heads.
But suddenly somehow, they noticed that a bone being dropped to the floor from above out of nowhere which caught Zero, Wolf and others' attention.
"Huh? Who's there?" Zero asked when looking around for anyone who dropped a bone in front of them.
Zero, Simon and Bob were sensing something that could be danger or something, as Simon brings out his boomerangs to throw it at somebody while Bob was clenching his fists to punch someone in the face or knock the teeth out, and Zero was beginning to hold out a small device but turns into a variety of weapons he chooses which is either a sword, or gun, or a space shooter, etc. He pressed the button of a weapon he chose and it turns into a hammer that is all sci-fi geared up.
They still looked around for anyone who is there to ambush them until...
SCREEEEECH!*
"AAAH!" Zero, Simon, Bob, Wolf and the others including Diane and Jet gasped in horror upon seeing an anthropomorphic bat that had scared them
"Eaten? Go..." The anthro bat says in a low cold tone with a Russian accent.
"Wait, wait...You...It's you again." Zero said as of assuming who he remembered who he recognized from his past years
"That's right. I am...Vladikoff Battler." Vladikoff said as he reveals himself as an anthropomorphic bat with grey fur while wearing black leather jacket with black jeans and black shoes, while his wings are in his arms. On the side of that, he has a little bit of sharp fangs in his mouth beneath his teeth.
"Vladikoff Battler..." Simon said in a disapproved tone
"You again?" Bob asked
"Who's he?" Wolf asked but suddenly got interrupted by someone
"Well, well, well, you know, I've just about had it with your little mind games." A brief voice came from an anthropomorphic boar that is a bit buffed with brown fur but wearing a brown leather jacket, fine jeans and brown boots.
"Joe Boarson..." Zero included
"And don't forget about me, enemigo." Said by the anthropomorphic calico cat that speaks in a Chilean accent
"And you, Jose Catsico." Bob added
In fact, Joe, Vlad, and Jose were longtime rivals of Zero Gexter, Simon Bandicooton, and Bob Konga from their past years but on top of that, they've also been robbing and stealing money and jewels from the bank and jewelry store which they still do, but Zero, Simon and Bob didn't as they used to but after realization hit them to be good guys, they had to break off from them. And now, Zero, Simon, and Bob today are known as the good guy trio.
"You know who these guys are?" Snake asked
"Yeah. They're creeps we've been trying to win against them but we did. And they'll try anything to cause trouble." Zero explained to Snake and to the others about them before looking at them again
"What do you want from us?" Simon asked with an annoyed face
"Oh, nothing. Just something we'd drop by when we heard about...these guys." Joe said pointing to Mr. Wolf, Snake, Shark, Piranha and Ms. Tarantula.
"Why us?" Wolf asked
"Oh, maybe something in exchange for those who pay up...No. This. Little wolf." Vlad said with an evil grin as of looking at Jet who is having a fear expression on his face
"M-Mommy?!" Jet was holding onto Diane's leg tightly as of growing fear that Vlad had a smug on his face as of indicating that he, Joe and Jose wanted him as a price.
"Hey, you keep your paws off of my pup." Diane warned Vlad, giving him a glare as a protective mother she is.
"This pup? Yours? Haha! Like I would believe it?" Joe snobbed
"She's not joking with you, Joe. She's dead serious and Jet is her son now, so you better believe it!" Zero glared at Joe but he chuckled
"That's funny, I just can't seem to be reminded that!" Joe yelled to Zero as they both cut off one's nose to spite one's nose each other as of glaring at each other.
"You better not lay a finger on him, mate!" Simon added in the warning
"Yeah, we've heard what he's been through from the whole incident with that no good lying guinea pig that nearly caused him harm when he kidnapped him but thanks to Wolf and the others, Diane had retrieved back Jet and now that guinea pig is already sleeping with the fishes." Bob explained with figures of speech
"Oh yeah, enemigo? Well that little cachorro would be better off with that chica if we take him with us, and he will give us more money if we get the check for it!" Jose talked back
"Who you calling the fox 'chica', gato?! That's the governor you're speaking to." Piranha warned Jose
"That's right. You heard him." Diane added agreeing with Piranha
This caught Joe, Vlad and Jose off guard upon recognizing that it is the governor they've heard which they thought twice but however pretend to act like that as they didn't care only to be rivals for Zero, Simon, and Bob.
"Oh! I didn't realize it, our mistake." Joe said as of pretending to pay respects to Diane and Jet
"You three are forgiven, but please try not to disrupt us again, okay?" Diane instructed them
"Don't worry, we promise." Vlad said, while inside of him still pretending to act nice
Of course, Joe, Vlad, and Jose were more interested in Jet as they have heard it through the news and to think that kidnapping him and getting the check from the adoption Diane had did would bring them even more money to have power and be rich as bad guys, even when Zero, Simon, and Bob would still stop them if they did.
"Now, if you three excuse us, we'd better keep walking along." Simon said before he and the others walked past by them
Eventually, they still walked along to lose sight of Joe, Vlad and Jose's as they look at them walking away from them.
"Great...Now how will we get that wolf?" Vlad asked with despair as they failed to attempt to kidnap Jet
"Yeah amigo, how will we earn the money from that check once we get him?" Jose added
"Don't worry...We will get him...We will get him, and we'll be rich." Joe reassured them with his face growing an evil grin as of scheming a plan to kidnap Jet and earn money from the paycheck.
However, what they didn't know is that Zero, Simon, and Bob would stop them by putting a decoy of Jet to pretend he's real which has a tracking device to notify the police department.
Later
Diane, Jet, Wolf and the gang along with Zero, Simon, and Bob still walked along fine while still chatting but forgetting about the encounter with the rivals of Zero, Simon and Bob that were nearly attempting to nab Jet for what they wanted to get.
"*whew* Well, that was unexpected to happen." Zero commented with relief
"You tell me, mate." Simon replied
"Good thing I had to warn Vlad from touching Jet." Diane said
"W-Who were they, Mr. Zero?" Jet asked curiously
"Well, they were our rivals for a long time. They are, Joe Boarson, Vladikoff Battler, and Jose Catsico." Zero explained as he looked back at Jet
"Wh-Why did they want me?"
This struck Zero to his mind, as it was hard for him to explain it to Jet as he knows that Jet's too young to understand the concept of what his and Simon and Bob's backstories with Joe, Vlad, and Jose in their years before Jet was born but to top it off, Diane had to jump in to reassure her adoptive pup.
"Now sweetie, it's nothing for you to worry about, okay? Let's forget this whole thing that happened and keep walking together, understand pupper?" Diane smiled warmly at Jet
Without a word, Jet decided to accept what she said as he nodded 'yes' showing he understands which satisfied Diane.
"Okay, mommy." Jet said managing to grow a thin smile on his face
But suddenly Zero bumped into someone by accident when he wasn't looking
"Ouch!" Zero said in pain
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, you okay?" A random person asked in concern
"I'm fine, no worries. Man, I gotta look where I'm go-"
As soon as Zero got back up from the ground, he suddenly frozed when he saw someone he recognizes.
It was a beautiful female anthro snow leopard. She had brown eyes with batty eyelashes, red-colored hair that is braid in a hairstyle with piercings on her ears, all while wearing a nice black tank-top shirt, dark blue jeans, and some fine black heel shoes. Her name was Liz Whiskerspoon (Yes, her last name is a reference to actress, Reese Witherspoon)
"Wait...do...do I know you?" Zero asked as he was getting deja vu from which he remembered her from the past
Liz also frozed up, suddenly remembering Zero of when she spend time with him and the other two from the past.
"*gasp!* Oh my, gosh! Zero?! Is that you?!" Liz asked in surprise
"Yeah! Liz! It's me!"
However, Simon and Bob, also got their surprised look on their faces as they recognize Liz as well too.
"And it's you two! Simon, and Bob." Liz said
"It is you, Liz!" Simon replied
"Yeah! I nearly forgot about you, but now you're here!" Bob added
The three share a big hug to Liz as of having their memories with Liz restored from the forgotten, while Wolf, Diane, Jet and the others look in sheer surprise upon seeing this whole hug.
"Oh, it's been quite a long time since we four hangout all these days, Liz." Zero said
"It sure has been, Zero." Liz replied
Liz takes notice of Wolf, Diane, Jet and the others such as Snake, Shark, Piranha, and Tarantula whom she has heard about them from the news.
"Oh, I didn't realize you three made some new friends." Liz said to Zero
"Oh! Yeah, now I'm sure you have heard of them from the news I can assume you watched, huh?" Zero replied taking his guess in
"Yeah, I heard of them, those guys were the 'bad guys', but now they're called 'good guys'. And, I see the governor, and that pup I heard she has adopted but saved from that whole incident with that guinea pig." Liz answered out much to Zero's correction
Jet who was seeing Liz, had to cover himself to Diane's leg as of growing shyness.
"Yeah, that's right. I, Mr. Wolf, and the other guys, are the good guys for now." Wolf replied greeting to Liz
"And I, Diane Foxington, am the Governor of California right now, and my pup here I have with me, is Jet Pawser." Diane added
With this in mind, Wolf, Diane and the others took their friendly greetings to Liz as a show of respect to Zero, Simon, and Bob who were smiling at this scene.
However, Jet was still a little shy from Liz as he was still covering his head to Diane's leg which hooked the attention to Diane looking down to him and kneeled down to his height.
"Hey, it's okay sweetie, she won't hurt you." Diane reassured him to help him grow a nice greet to Liz
Jet looked up to her and eventually calmed down as he begins to look back at Liz.
"Umm...H-Hi!" Jet managed to say as he slowly waved at Liz
"Hi there, little pup! You must be Jet, right?" Liz smiled kneeling down to his height
Jet nodded 'yes' in confirmation
"Well, it's nice to meet you Jet." Liz gave Jet a friendly handshake gently
It made Jet smile seeing how gentle and nice she is.
"Oh yeah, I heard you were kidnapped by that mean guinea pig, huh? I'm so sorry to hear what you had to go through, but hey, at least your mommy and the others saved you, and I'm sure you did get along well with Zero, Simon, and Bob in your summer, right?" Liz said showing her respects to him
"Y-Yeah, but Mr. Zero was awesome, but Mr. Bob was funny and Mr. Simon was cool." Jet commented with a smile
"That's great to hear, Jet. Just always know that Zero, Simon, Bob and even me will all be there for you too." Liz said giving him a small pat on his shoulder which makes Jet feel better
Liz stands back up to Zero, Wolf, and the others.
"Well, it was great meeting you guys, and seeing you three again. So, hope you all have a nice day and I'll see you all around." Liz said before walking past by them and wave goodbye to them
"You too, Liz. We'll see you later." Zero replied waving goodbye as well and so did the others
"B-Bye Liz!" Jet waved
"Bye Jet! Hope you have a nice summer with your mom and the others!" Liz waved back at Jet
A few hours later
The sun was slowly starting to get to the bottom of the Earth for the sunset to rose in within the rays of light, and it was time for them to head back to their homes.
"Well, guess we all better start heading to our homes now, so we'll see you later you guys." Zero said before leaving with Simon and Bob tagging along to their car (the same one Zero drove from the previous chapter).
"You take care, Zero." Wolf waved before he and the gang also get to the black muscle car
"Goodbye Diane. Hope you and your pup will get some good rest." Wolf said to Diane
"You too, Wolf. Thank you for this walk with the others." Diane replied to Wolf before also getting to her yellow car with Jet
And with all those out of the way, they eventually part ways to their homes for a fine rest from the day of walking they had.
