Chapter 18: The Zodiac Spirit

Year: X753. 31 years till Canon begins.

Cade POV:

When I woke up today, I remembered what day it was today and what that meant. Today was Tuesday, and that meant it was time for Lilly, Gildarts, Cornelia and myself to all get together and have some fun at the manor!

I was still a little confused as to how my mother planned to deal with the missing Mermaid card, assuming that the four of us all agreed to play Vulcan's, Dragon's and Mermaid's today. I had asked her yesterday what she planned on doing. But she just smiled thinly and said it was a surprise.

As such, I decided to take her word head on, and chose to remain positive about today. I dressed myself and headed downstairs to get some breakfast. Todays menu was some porridge, and while that isn't my favourite meal for breakfast on its own, I could easily have some fruit afterwards if I'm still hungry.

While I was eating my porridge, my mother came into the room and sat down across from me and spoke to me. "By the way Cade, Lyra is coming round today. I thought you should know as your friends are coming round as well." She informed me.

I finished swallowing my food, before speaking up to her. "Who is she again?" I asked in confusion. I had heard the name Lyra before. I think she came to one of my birthday parties once a few years back?

"Lyra Heartfilia. She is a good friend of mine and once came to your 8th birthday. She has been busy raising her daughter, hence she has not came round as much." My mother explained to me.

"Oh right! I remember now!" I recalled as I took another mouthful of porridge. While eating, I tried to remember physical details about Lyra. I think she had blonde hair, blue eyes… and some sort of magic that I have never seen her use before.

"Doesn't she have magic?" I trailed off to think on that, as I finished eating that bit of porridge.

"Yes she does. You have never seen it as she never brought her equipment with her to use it." My mother then frowned. "Now that I think about it, I should have really reached back out to her a year ago now. Better late than never I suppose." She grumbled.

"Hmm? What magic does she use?" I asked. What kind of magic needs equipment to use? Holder Magic perhaps?

"Ah, that is a surprise I'm afraid. You will have to wait a few hours before you learn that little detail." My mother informed, as Charles came and placed a bowl of soup in front of her.

"Wait! Will it help us with our game today?" I spoke up in realisation to my mother.

"Mmm, this soup is lovely Charles. Well done making it today." My mother approved to Charles with a nod. Charles bowed his head before leaving back into the kitchen.

"Aw, come on. Please tell me!" I pleaded desperately to my mother. She responded by smiling thinly and continuing to drink her soup, her ignoring me.

"Listen Cade, it is a lovely day outside. Why don't the four of you play the game out there?" She suggested, finishing a spoonful of soup, her wiping her mouth with a napkin afterwards.

"I don't know… we kinda lost the Mermaid card last time cause of the high winds." I said contemplating the decision.

"Well it's to be nice and sunny all day with no signs of high winds, so you should be fine." My mother informed as she took another spoon of soup.

"Really? Well then it should be fine then." I relaxed with a smile as I finished my porridge with no more questions. Afterwards, I left the table and went upstairs to get the game ready.

I entered my room, and got the game from my cupboard. Then I brought it downstairs and put on the table in the lounge. I'd keep it there, as when I come back with my friends we can just access the game from here.

While doing this, I saw Pierce cleaning the fireplace in the room. I decided to then ask him a question, that I probably should have asked my mother earlier.

"Hey Pierce, what time is it right now?" I inquired. Normally I would have taken a gaze over to the grandfather clock in the room. Unfortunately it was currently broken and was in need of repair. As such, I asked the next best person.

Pierce took his head out of the fireplace and turned to look at me. There was patches of soot on his face, mainly on his nose, cheeks and the bottom of his mouth. He was wearing goggles to make sure that the soot doesn't get into his eyes.

"Ah, Sir Philipe. I believe it is 11:30am right now. When I started cleaning the lounge it was around 11:00am, and I believe enough time has passed for it to be 11:30am." He explained as he removed his googles to see me in person.

"What time is Lyra coming at? I'm bring my friends round today, and I think she can help us with a game we are planning on playing." I asked the servent.

"Hmm, I believe your mother said that she would be coming at around 12:00am I think." Pierce told me with a thoughtful look.

"Ah, really?!" I cried out. "Then I gotta get moving! I wouldn't want to keep her waiting for me and my friends!" I then proceeded to run back into the kitchen to grab some fruit to eat, before then running out of the manor and down into Magnolia.

"Maybe I should have told him that Miss Lyra was simply visiting to catch up with his mother." Pierce muttered with an uneasy look, as he then got back to tidying up the lounge. "Hope that doesn't cause panic for Cade today…"

*knock knock*

I had finally arrived at Lilly's house after quickly making my way to Magnolia. I wanted to make sure I had everyone at the manor by the time Lyra arrived today, when my mother told me she was coming.

I was nervous, as Pierce told me that she was coming at around 12:00. That meant that I only had so long to get everyone together and return to the manor without keeping her for too long. I had arrived at Lilly's house first as she was the furthest away. Then I would head to Cornelia's and finally Gildarts who lived the closest to the manor.

A minute after I had knocked on the door, it was opened by Lilly who looked happy to see me. "Cade! Is it time to go to your house yet?" She asked excitedly.

"Yeah, but we gotta pick up Gildarts and Cornelia first." I said, as she exited her house.

"Just remember to be back here before nighttime Lilly!" Came the voice of her mother from inside her house.

"Ok mom I will!" Lilly yelled turning around in the direction of the house for her mother to hear.

"Argh, I can hear you just fine from where I am! No need to shout young lady!" Her mother yelled back at her.

"Come on let's go!" I insisted to Lilly. She then closed the door and we began to quickly make our move through Magnolia to get the others.

"Woah, are we in a rush? I thought we had all day for this?" Lilly wondered, in a curious and surprised tone, as we darted through alleyways.

"Uh, well one of my mothers friends is coming round today and I think she's coming round to help is with the games we're gonna be playing today!" I said excitedly. "I just don't want to keep her waiting that's all." I explained to Lilly, as we passed through Kardia Cathedral.

"Ohhh, I see." Said Lilly slowly. "Hey, I have an idea about how to do this faster!" She suggested suddenly, which got me interested in her idea.

"Huh? What is it Lilly?" I queried with interest, as we both stopped so she could explain her plan.

"How about I get Cornelia, and you can get Gildarts!" Lilly explained to me. "Then we'll meet back up at your place!"

"Huh… That's a good idea Lilly! It saves so much time, we can probably get there and back really quickly-"

"And last one there gets to go last in all the games we play today!" She shouted with a smirk, with me stunned at her comment just there.

"Huh?! Hey wait I-" I tried to object to Lilly's deal, but she was already running off in the distance.

"Bye Cade! See you at the manor!" She waved, laughing maniacally as she ran off.

"Wait, wha? I didn't… Argh, Lilly!" I screamed at her as she ran of in the direction of Cornelia's apartment.

As I began to properly take in what Lilly just challenged me to, I began to realise something. Gildarts house was much closer to the manor than Cornelia's apartment was.

If I were to run all the way there… then I could easily make it back to the manor!

There was no time to waste. I had to get moving. Thankfully I knew that Gildarts would be in his house today, as yesterday he told me that he would be waiting for me in his house and not at the guildhall, where he usually is.

I began to run in the direction of Gildarts house, hoping that I would have enough time to grab him and get back to the manor before the girls. I was eventually able to make it to his house after crossing a good portion of Magnolia.

Gildarts house was located on the edge of Magnolia. It had a small river with a bridge that came over it. There were a few other houses around the area, so it almost looked like its own little village. His house had a nice gravel path that led up to the door.

The walls had a wooden build, with a nice triangular roof with a chimney on top and a fireplace inside. There was two windows on the same side as the door. With some more windows along the other sides of the house.

Running up to the house, I quickly knocked on the door to get Gildarts attention and get him out of the house. After what felt like an eternity, the door opened and I was greeted by Gildarts. He was dressed in his usual outfit, but he had bags under his eyes, showing that he had just recently woken up.

"Ugh… Really Cade? Isn't it a bit early for this?" Gildarts moaned, letting out a yawn as he did.

"Gildarts! There's no time to waste, if we get to the manor before Cornelia and Lilly, then we'll always get to go first in the games that we are playing today!" I said quickly to him.

"Huh?" Spluttered Gildarts his eyes fluttering wide as I said that. "Really?! We'll get to always have that kind of advantage over them!?" He exclaimed, now wide awake and his eyes gleaming with desire at that option.

"Yes we will, there's someone-"

"Well what are waiting for?! Let's go, let's go!" He yelled eagerly as he ran out of his house and pulled me along both him.

"WOAH! Hey slow it down there Gildarts!" I yelped as he pulled me along. "We've got plenty of time!" I said, panicking at accidentally getting let go and flown across the air.

"No Cade, you don't get it." Replied Gildarts in a serious and determined manner. "You haven't seen just how fast Cornelia can run. A few months ago, the two of us were playing by the river near my house and I accidentally splashed her with some mud."

"She was furious at me, and chased me all the way across Magnolia for revenge. The scariest thing is, is that she never even got tired. Not even once." Explained Gildarts shivering as he did, him clearly traumatised by the experience.

"Wow… had no idea she was that fast."

We had now approached the main road that led to the manor. Gildarts had began to run up the pathway with me now desperately clinging on to him, to avoid slipping off like a rag doll.

"Look… I can see the manor!" Shouted Gildarts as we crossed over a small steep in the path, and could now see the manor in the distance.

"Ha! In a few short moments, we'll be calling the shots today when playing the games!" I cried triumphantly, as Gildarts got closer and closer to the manors doorway.

"Almost… there…" Gildarts huffed as he was a few metres away from the door. Eventually he slowed down, and I had to be the one to help him get to the door. I put my arm round his shoulder and did my best to carry him to the front door.

"We did it!" I declared as we approached the open door of the manor. I then looked behind me to see if Lilly and Cornelia were behind us. I chuckled to myself evilly, as I couldn't even see them in the distance!

"Ha! Yes! That what I'm talking about!" Shouted Gildarts, as he held up his hand for a hi five. I slapped the hand that he held up, smiling as I did. "I can't believe we beat them like that! Hey was that little idea yours?" Gildarts wondered as he turned to look at me.

"Oh no, it was all Lilly's." I replied giggling to myself as I said it. "I think that makes it even better, don't you think so?!" I said, joyful upon realising that.

"It does!" Gildarts gave a smug as he looked in the distance. "Huh, I really can't see them. Either they got slower these last few months, or I've been unknowingly developing Speed Magic."

"Well, I don't really plan on waiting out here for them." I said turning to Gildarts. "Oh, wait! I have a great idea! Let's go inside the lounge and surprise them when they come in! They won't know that we are here!" I cackled as I said that.

"Oh, that's brilliant Cade!" Gildarts responded with a scheming look on his face. "Let's head in there and make ourselves comfy." And with that, the both of us made our way into the manor, keen to relax after we had been running for the last few minutes.

Me and Gildarts then made it to the door of the lounge. "You know, I really do think this is my best idea yet." I proclaimed with a boastful look, before opening the door to the lounge.

"Well what took you so long?" Came the voice of a smug Cornelia who was lying down on a couch as I opened the door and looked inside.

"GAHHHHHHH!" Me and Gildarts both collectively yelled out as we saw that the girls had somehow arrived here before us.

"I know, I've been waiting for aaaaaages! Guess this means you lose the bet though!" Declared Lilly, who was sitting on a chair reading a book as she said that.

"But… how… I ran all the way here." Gildarts moaned, wide eyed and horrified at what he was seeing before him.

"We… lost?" I struggled slowly, as I began to take in what had just happened to me and Gildarts. "We were… Gildarts… how did-?" I said, trying to make sense of how they were able to get ahead of us like that.

"Hmph, wouldn't you like to know?" Remarked Cornelia in a mocking tone, as she grinned at the both of us. Lilly then looked over at Cornelia, her turning the book she was reading over and putting it in the desk.

"C'mon Cornelia, don't be mean." Lilly huffed to her, before turning to the both of us. "When I was running back to get Cornelia, I actually ended up running right into her! Turns out she was coming to get me and planned to head up to the manor together."

"When I explained the situation to her, she wasted no time at all and grabbed me and ran up to the manor with me!" Said Lilly with a smile. "We've been here for a few minutes now, waiting for you two." She informed us as she stood up from her seat.

"N-No… we lost the bet…" Moaned Gildarts, in a rather defeated attitude.

"Now the girls get to go first in all the games today…" I muttered sighing, while also mentally preparing myself for the next few hours of my life.

"Well." Cornelia said as she got up from her position on the couch and made her way over to the door. "You guys coming to meet the guest that came here to help us?" She asked, pointing to the dining room. "She's in the side room that leads out to the garden."

"Wait… she's already here?!" I said in horror. "We've kept her waiting this whole time!?" I added in frustration at the idea. "When did you guys meet her?"

"We met her a minute after we got here. We were hungry and went into the kitchen for something to eat, and we saw her there." Explained Lilly, as she also made her way over to the door. "We had a nice chat with her, and then we got the idea to relax in the lounge until you guys got back here." She finished explaining.

"Ah, I see. Well no time to waste then I suppose." I declared, quickly re-adjusting myself, before turning to Gildarts. "Off we go then, come on Gildarts." As I turned round to look at the teen.

Gildarts slowly turned his head to look at me. "Yeah, I'm coming." He said before sighing and began to exit the room and head towards the dining room to meet Lyra. Cornelia, chuckled lightly upon seeing that before following him out. After she left, me and Lilly then exited the room – me making sure to take the board game with me as I left.

The four of us then arrived in the dining room, before we then entered the side room that led to the back garden where Lyra was apparently waiting for us. We all made our way into the room, with me being the last to enter.

When I did enter, I saw my mother sitting down on a chair her turning to see me upon seeing me enter.

In front of her, sat a lady around her age with long blonde hair that was tied in a ponytail which came down her back. She wore some rather casual clothes, with a blue short sleeved T-shirt with white thin stripes that came along it. She also wore some lovely red trousers with a pouch on the side and white shoes. I saw that she had blue eyes and a kind smile on her face as she turned to look at me.

"Ah, hello there children. It's nice to finally meet all of you." She said with a bow of her head. "My name is Lyra Heartfilia, for those of you that have not met me yet." She greeted looking towards Gildarts. She then turned back to me.

"Cadewell, it's nice to see you again! It's been what, three years since I last saw you? You've grown up quite a bit since then." She said kindly to me.

"Heh, yeah it's been a while Lyra. Nice to see you again!" I nodded happily to her.

"Your mother has told me all about your adventures this last year." She then frowned. "I'm sorry about your father by the way. I never knew mine, so I can't exactly relate to your pain I'm afraid." She spoke sincerely to me.

"It's ok Lyra." I said. "I'm feeling a lot better now than I was when I first learned that he died. And I'm making sure I make the most of my life while I still can." I explained smiling softly at her.

"Yes, your mother told me that you joined the Fairy Tail guild. She said you've made a lot of new friends and gone on a lot of journeys since doing so!" Lyra added cheerfully.

"Yeah." I said as I looked at Gildarts with a big grin, him then returning the look. "And I haven't regretted a single moment of it! I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me in the guild!" I said proudly.

"That's good to hear. Now then, to get back on track onto one of the reasons why I'm here." She stated as she stood up. "I was meant to come next month to see you and your mother, but she asked if I could come today instead to help you with something. Something about a Mermaid problem I believe?" She inquired to me.

"Oh yes!" Interrupted Lilly eagerly. "We were going to play a board game today, and it involved a special Mermaid card. The issue is that we lost the card the last time we played outside. It's my favourite card… But if you have a way that could help us then I'd love to hear about it!" Requested Lilly to Lyra.

"Well… I think I have some sort of solution to that." Lyra mentioned, as she looked to me. "Where is the game being held Cadewell?" She asked.

"Outside. We'll probably have it on the table just out there." I pointed to the table in the distance outside in the garden.

Lyra seemed to look around the area for a while before seeing a pond not too far away. Then she smiled and looked back at me. "Yes, that will work just fine. Are we having the game now?" She wondered.

"Yes, if that's ok with you." I nodded to Lyra.

"Works for me, shall we go outside then and start it?" She said as she beckoned outside. The four of us agreed with her, and we then made our way to the table outside.

When we got there, I began to set up the game on the table. I put out all the pieces, and shuffled the cards. But I didn't hand them out yet, as I wanted to see how Lyra planned to deal with the missing card first.

"So how are you going to help us Lyra?" I asked, a bit puzzled. "Do you have Card Magic?" I wondered to myself about her magic, as I finished setting up as much of the game as I could.

"No, I don't. I instead have the ability to summon a friend of mine that can help you out with your missing card." She stated smiling, as she then made her way over to the pond nearby.

I was pretty befuddled as to why Lyra needed water to summon this friend of hers. Couldn't she just invite them over or just ask them for advice on the matter?

But before I could ask her, she reached into her pouch and pulled out a golden key. Before then sticking it into the water. I gasped in surprise upon seeing the golden key.

"But wait! That kind of magic is-" I began to say, but I was cut off by Lyra.

"Open Gate of the Water Bearer, Aquarius!" She shouted.

As she said that, there was a golden light that appeared where she placed the key in the water. When the light disappeared a moment later, I saw a… very interesting figure there above the water.

She has a long, blue fish-tail, with light blue hair that reached up to her waist, and a large bust. I saw that she had blue eyes with no pupils. She wore a rather revealing dark blue bikini top and on each arm, she had a golden armlet and bracelet. She also wore a circlet, with three piercings on her tail, and a golden belt at her waist and light blue crystal earrings. A dark blue tattoo which I didn't recognise was on her collarbone. She was also holding an urn under her arm.

Lyra was a Celestial Spirit Wizard! And she just summoned a Mermaid!

Upon being summoned, the Mermaid quickly turned her head to look around the area she was in, before then looking to Lyra with a confused expression.

"Yeah, what is it?" The Mermaid questioned to Lyra. Before Lyra could respond though, Lilly had gone and ran up to the Mermaid upon seeing her.

"NOWAYITSAREALMERMAIDHOWDOYOUHAVEONE?!" Lilly screamed in excitement, which seemed to shock the Mermaid and make her a little uneasy.

"Hey! Watch it! Lyra, why have I been summoned here!?" The Mermaid demanded sharply to Lyra, who was now giggling at this point.

"Aquarius, I need to help these four children with their game today. They need the help of a Mermaid for this, so I thought I'd ask you." Lyra explained with a smile as she moved next to Aquarius, and turned to look at the four of us.

"This is the Celestial Zodiac Spirit Aquarius. As you can clearly see she is a mermaid, so I thought she would be the best for helping you for this." Lyra introduced her friend, before turning to look back at Aquarius. "Well good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine here Aquarius, you've dealt with Layla before so this should be easy enough for you." She said, before quickly turning around and making her way back into the house with my mother.

"No, wait! You can't just leave me here with these brats!" Aquarius pleaded with annoyance, as Lilly was still gazing in awe at seeing a real mermaid. "This is too much Lyra!"

"You owe me one after I helped you out with your boyfriend." Lyra smirked, waved a hand in the air. She and my mother then closed the door behind them when they entered the house, and I saw them exit the side room through the window.

Both me and Gildarts had looked at each other, while Aquarius was trying to swat away Lilly, who was bombarding her with questions.

"That's a Zodiac Spirit! They're like the silver gate keys but much stronger! Before Lyra leaves I have to give her the silver keys I got a year ago!" I said to Gildarts excitedly. But Gildarts wasn't paying me any attention. He was just looking right at Aquarius like he was in a trance.

"Wow… she's really pretty." Whispered Gildarts to me, him not turning his head away from Aquarius.

Despite Gildarts whispering, Cornelia marched up to him and smacked him on the head, and then started to give him a lecture before dragging him off to the side to belittle him.

"Huh. Wha-?" I muttered in confusion at what had just happened to Gildarts, before looking back to Aquarius again. She was still trying to swat Lilly away, who was now trying to bombard her with questions.

"Have you always been a mermaid? What's it like to swim with a fin? Can you summon other mermaids? Have you ever wanted feet before? Did I ever mention that Mermaids are my favourite creature ever!" "Can you do some water tricks?" She squealed to Aquarius.

"Hey! What's with all the questions, kid?" Aquarius cried desperately, trying to get Lilly away from her. I decided to go and get Lilly away from Aquarius, but Aquarius seemed to have the same idea as me; except she had a much different way of executing said procedure:

She raised her jug up in the air, and swung it in front of Lilly which sent a wave of water at Lilly. "Get lost!" She shouted.

Lilly was then hit by the wave and was sent flying backwards further into the garden, her hitting a bush which saved her from hitting the ground or a tree. Aquarius then breathed a sigh of relief at not being questioned by a child.

"Hi Miss Aquarius! I'm Cade!" I greeted happily, as I came up to her. Aquarius then gave a loud tsk. She then turned around and gave me an evil glare that rivalled Porlyusica's glare. If looks could kill…

"Listen here brat. I don't really want to be here right now. I'm not sure why my master summoned for this for this little garden party you have going on here, but the only reason I'm not leaving immediately is because I have a lot of respect for her." She stated in a scathing manner.

"Hey, hey, no need to worry here. My friend you just swatted away there just really likes Mermaid's that's all!" I backed off, chuckling with unease, as she continued to stare daggers at me. "We just need to you to help us with this board game please!" I pleaded desperately to her.

Aquarius then gave me a curious look, her tilting her head as if she was trying to read me. "Have I seen you before? You match the description of some human I heard about in the spirit world a few days back?" She wondered, looking me up and down as if to determine who I was. "Black hair, green eyes, lightning bolt scar…" She muttered, as she started listing facial details about me!

"Birthmark. Er, not a scar." I corrected her. "But how do you know that information exactly? I've never seen you before." I questioned in confusion.

"You ever fight against two Celestial Spirits in the past?" She asked. "Not sure how long it would have been, I often struggle to grasp the time in this world."

"I did fight against two silver keys before… about a year ago now I think." I answered scratching my head.

'How does she know these things?!'

"Oh! You're the kid who beat Canopus and Vega aren't you?" Aquarius said in realisation. "Thanks for that kid." She thanked, with her now smiling at me. Her previous attitude towards me had completely changed!

"They were always so annoying and boastful. Not to mention they always kept trying to hit on me. Even when I just got a boyfriend not too long ago!" Aquarius shuddered. "Thanks for knocking them down a peg."

I just nodded my head, going along with what she said just said there. I wasn't complaining about this shift in attitude.

'So all the spirits know each other then?' I thought interested at the idea.

"I really loved seeing Vega's expression when he came back without his hat, oh that was to kill for!" Aquarius brought up sniggering at that last part. It was then I realised that I could ask this spirit about giving Ivy's keys to Lyra!

However, it seems Aquarius had the same sort of idea, and beat me to it.

"You got the keys when you beat the wizard that was holding them right?" Aquarius asked me. I nodded my head in response. "Good, then I'd recommend that you give both of their keys to Lyra when you next see her. As much as I dislike those two condescending idiots and want to drown them every chance I get, it'd be wrong for them to never get used again." She told me in a sincere tone.

"Yeah I'll do that Miss Aquarius!" I answered happily.

Aquarius chuckled upon hearing that. "I appreciate the manners but you can just call me Aquarius." She said giving a thin smile when she heard that.

"Oh, er thanks that there Aquarius." I replied happily to her. Then I realised something she said. "Hey wait a minute. You said I should give both their keys to Lyla." I said fact checking what she said just there.

Aquarius raised her eyebrow in confusion at me. "Yeah I did. She only had the two keys contracted to her, we can tell in the Spirit World who has whose keys, and only Canopus and Vega were contracted to her."

Aquarius then gave me a surprised look. "Wait, she didn't have any other keys on her person when she was arrested did she?" She asked in a bit of concerned tone. Before I could answer I heard a voice from a bush not to far away.

"Guys! Guess what I found in the bush just here!" Shouted Lilly as she crawled out from the bush Aquarius had thrown her in earlier. This had gotten the attention of the four of us outside as we turned to see, Aquarius giving a groan in annoyance as she did.

"I found the missing Mermaid card! It was blown in the bush last time we played, and that's how we couldn't find it." Lilly cried out in happiness as she stood back up and waved the card in the air. "I was in there for ages trying to get it!"

'Huh, so that's why she was in the bush for so long.' I realised.

"Wasn't that card being missing the only reason why I was summoned?" Asked Aquarius, as she turned to look at me.

"Erm, yes. We were missing it so Lyra summoned you to fill in for it-" I began to say.

"Well then, I don't think I need to stay here any longer I think." Stated Aquarius, as she then smiled upon not having to stay here anymore, before then disappeared leaving a golden light as she did.

When she left I could Gildarts give a sigh of sadness, and Lilly let out a groan of finally losing the chance to spend more time with a mermaid. I was quite annoyed at the fact that I wasn't able to indirectly ask Aquarius about Sirius. I felt it would have been fine if I told other Spirits about him, I mean he's a spirit as well, so they'll obviously know more about him.

Unfortunately the chance was gone, at the very least I could now give the two keys I have to Lyra before she left. That would be one thing to do cut off from my "things to do list".

Lilly then approached me, with Gildarts and Cornelia coming soon after. "So you have the card then?" I said to Lilly as I saw her holding a card in her hand.

"Yep!" She smiled, as she then presented it to show the three of us. "Now we can play the game because we have it!" Lilly said, before frowning. "I did want to play with the real Mermaid though…" She muttered in a disappointing tone.

"Ah, well think of it this way Lilly. If she hadn't blasted you back with her jug of water just there, then you wouldn't have found the card in the first place!" Gildarts remarked happily. "Though it is a shame the Mermaid left just like that." He said with a glum face.

"Well." Snapped Cornelia. "Now that she is gone, we can start playing the game now can't we?" She said as she pointed to the game on the table. The three of us agreed with her, and we all sat down at the table to play a few games, now that everything seemingly sorted itself out in the end

Around around an hour or two later, the games were all concluded. We had played a total of four games there. I was able to win one game, Cornelia was able to win two games and Lilly won the last game just there. Sadly for Gildarts, he ended up losing every single game we played of Vulcan's Dragon's and Mermaid's.

With him losing the race today, then him losing out on talking to Aquarius and now him losing every single match we had; today was just not his day it seemed. Perhaps he would have better luck tomorrow.

When we finished playing outside, we made our way back indoors (me carrying the game). When we entered the side room, I couldn't see Lyra or my mother siting down the chairs. We then entered the dining room, and then Lilly spoke up to me.

"Can we get something to eat? I'm so hungry after those games just there." Lilly groaned, pointing to the kitchen. Cornelia nodded her head in agreement with her, and Gildarts did the same. I wasn't too hungry myself so I suggested an idea.

"You guys can get something to eat in the kitchen. I gotta give a gift to Lyra." I said to them. They just shrugged and headed into the kitchen regardless.

'Wow, they must really be hungry.' I thought, as I then exited the dining hall and quickly ran up into my room to get Canopus and Vega's keys. When I got into my room, I grabbed the dusty keys off my shelf and ran back downstairs to try and see where Lyra (and presumably my mother) were. They weren't in the lounge which is main place I expected to see them in, as it is the most relaxing and comfortable room in the manor.

I then opened the doors to the library to see if they were there, and I saw the both of them looking at a bookshelf, while discussing something there. I could occasionally see them point to different books on the shelf. My guess was, Lyra was curious about what they all were, as we didn't have that bookshelf when she was last here.

I then approached the two ladies and spoke up. "Excuse me, Lyra? I have something you may want." I informed her. She turned her head to look at me, with my mother doing the same. A intriguing look appeared on Lyra's face as she turned to look at me.

"Ah Cade, how was your game outside? Did Aquarius help you with what you needed?" Lyra asked smiling at me as she said that, her now turning her whole body round to face me.

I thought for a moment before answering. "Yes she did. She was a big help in getting what we needed done!" I answered smiling to her. I was technically telling the truth, as she did in the end help us with what we needed.

"Ah, that's excellent. I will admit a small part of me was nervous she would just drench you all with water and then leave, but I'm glad it didn't come to that." She said with a sigh of relief.

'Funny you say that Lyra…' I thought, while remembering how Lilly got blasted back with a heap of water. Glad I was able to get on Aquarius good side before she thought about doing that to me.

"Anyway, what is this thing you wished to give to Lyra?" Asked my mother, with a puzzled look on her face.

"These." I said pulling the two silver keys out of my pocket and presenting them to Lyra, who looked a bit shocked to see them. "I won them of a Celestial Wizard, who was a thief on my first job. I think you should have them." I told her.

Lyra then picked up the keys and inspected them, bringing them close to her to get a closer look at who they belonged to. "I see… I believe this key is the Servant Vega." She said, as she brought one of they keys up close to her eyes. "And this… is the Flame Canopus." She said inspecting the other key with great detail. She then lowered them and turned to me.

"I would be very happy to take them for you Cade." She nodded kindly.

"Sure, I mean I can't use Celestial Spirit Magic so I'm not summoning them any time soon. And I think the two Spirits will do a lot better with you, than with the thief who last had them." I said giving her a thumbs up.

"Indeed. Thank you for that Cade. Your mother did say she had a surprise for me. Was it perhaps that?" She wondered turning to my mother who simply smirked at hearing Lyra say that.

"Well, I thought it be best if Cade was the one to give you the keys instead of me reminding him." Mother explained with a nod to me, as if she were congratulating me.

The rest of the day consisted of me Gildarts, Cornelia and Lilly playing in the manor. Lyra chose to leave around an hour after I gave her the keys. She thanked me for the gift and promised to try and come back soon when she is not busy. Apparently she had a daughter and was busy raising her, which is why she couldn't always come back round and visit. I did hope to see her again in the future.

I asked my mother if Cornelia, Gildarts and Lilly could stay for dinner and she agreed! Dinner in question was a huge roast chicken that was bought yesterday by Pierce when he went down to Magnolia. Along with it was some chips, vegetables and some salad as well.

My mother decided to eat in the lounge, as she didn't want to feel like she was being a distraction from us having our conversations at the dinner table.

As we all began to eat away at the food (with me being surprised that my friends were able to eat that much, considering they raided the kitchen cupboards for food when we finished playing outside) Gildarts chose to ask me a question.

"Hey Cade, who do you think will win the S-Class trials tomorrow?" He quizzed.

"Oh yeah, I forgot that was tomorrow." I realised after swallowing a bit of chicken. It was six days ago that Master announced who was competing in the S-Class trials. I honestly hadn't payed all that much attention to what was going about it, other than the information Master showed when he announced it.

"Can we go and watch?" I said curiously to Gildarts. "It's be nice to see how the trials are done. You know, in case we get selected in the future." I took a forkful of chips and shoved them into my mouth.

"I don't think we can. Master only lets those involved in the trials come and participate." Gildarts told me, before he then grabbed a chicken wing and began to eat it.

"Well that's a shame." I said with a frown. "Ah well, least I can finally finish translating this page in the spell book." I muttered trying to make things seem a bit better for myself.

"Is the page you're translating hard?" Asked Lilly, as she ate a bit of lettuce from the salad.

"Well, I've been stuck on it for a while now. It's definitely the hardest page I've done so far which makes me think that there's something really good behind it." I said as I twirled my fork in my hand. "I'm hoping it's a physical enchantment, or an armour enchantment. That would be a nice difference from what I usually end up learning."

"Will you be doing it at the guild?" Gildarts inquired to me.

"Master recommended that I translate it all at home, to avoid it getting lost or stolen when I leave the house. If I do get something really good I'll come down to the guild and show you." I mentioned, as I lightly pushed my plate to the side as I had finished my dinner.

"Well then I'll be there cheering you on from inside the guild!" Said Gildarts with a big grin as he said that.

After dinner was finished for the four of us. Cornelia, Lilly and Gildarts all headed back to Magnolia before sun down, to make sure they don't get lost in the darkness. The town may have streetlights to lighten the place during the dark, but the pathway that leads up to the manor don't.

When they all left, I headed upsides to retire for the night. When I got to my bedroom and looked over to the shelf where the Celestial keys once were.

'Well that's one thing sorted out that I had to do.' I sighed, as I got changed into my pyjamas and got into my bed to fall asleep.

While I was drifting off, I began to think of what Aquarius told me today about how Ivy's Celestial Spirits were contracted to her. It was really strange that she said that only two of the keys were contracted to Ivy. Didn't she know that Sirius was contracted to her as well? He certainly said so when I first saw him a year ago.

From the face she gave me when I brought up any more Spirits being contacted to Ivy, it seemed like she genuinely had no idea about Sirius's connection. Assuming all Celestial Spirits know each other, and who is contracted to who; Wouldn't have Vega or Canopus have told her about Sirius at some point?

'Hmm, this is all getting too painful for me to try and figure out.' I thought, as I then let sleep take me, for whatever awaits tomorrow.

And scene! Hope you all enjoyed that chapter everyone!

In this chapter we got to meet our favourite… well more like the only mermaid from the show; Aquarius. Now I know some of you are probably wondering why she wasn't constantly belittling and drowning everyone. Well the reason why is because Aquarius only ever really did that to Lucy, who she didn't like at first.

She said so herself that she liked Layla more, and I can only assume that she liked Lyra as well as she most likely didn't need to summon her so much, as she had a much better personal upbringing. Basically, Aquarius isn't as hotheaded yet as she was when canon started.

We also got to learn a little bit more information about the mystery of Sirius. Vega and Canopus didn't know Sirius was contracted to her? Questions for another chapter my viewers.

Anyway, I hope to see you all in the next chapter!

Crhis11 - Thank you for the review! I can see where you are coming from when you say that the title doesn't really line up with the MC's innate magic. The reason why I've named the title of this Fanfic the way that it is was because it was the spell book and Enchantment Magic that set him out on this huge journey. Glad to see that you are enjoying the story and I hope you continue to enjoy it!

PS: In this chapter the story crossed over 100,000 words!
