-The Enchanter of Fairy Tail-
Chapter 38: Favours And Promises
Year: X756. 28 years till Canon begins.
Cade POV:
"I have a scar now!?" I screamed. "F-Fea you gotta tell me, how bad is it!?" I pleased as I looked down at her. I would have traced my hand along the scar to feel it myself, but I was still holding Fea and I didn't want to suddenly drop her.
"D-Don't worry! It's fine!" She assured me quickly, her face looking a little surprised by my outburst. "It's not swollen or really expanded out! Just a red straight line that's all!"
"Could you not be mistaking it for my birthmark? That's in the same area and it's in roughly the same outline!" I quickly suggested to her.
"No… I know it's a scar as it's now covering up your birthmark. That thin line wasn't there before today!" Fea explained to me.
"Oh no… Mother's gonna kill me when I get back." I muttered in fear, as I dropped my head.
"Why? Because of the scar?"
"I promised that I would come back ok. If I come back with this big scar running down my face, then she'll probably ban me from going to Fairy Tale outright!" I panicked as I thought of that idea.
"Well the scar isn't that bad like I said earlier. It's just a thin red line that comes over your birthmark. Some may not even notice unless they see it closer." She said. "Though… this is your mother, the woman who raised you…"
"Man I'm finished…"
I dreaded to think what punishments she had in store for me. But I chose to look on the bright side – well I attempted to do so. I could have actually lost an eye in that job, or even my own life.
"Hey Fea?" I looked down at her curiosity. "Did you not say that this is the first time this has happened?"
"About the scar? Well yes. Normally my magic is able to mend broken bones, cure any burns, seal any wounds… Basically anything that affects the physical side of the body. I've only ever used it on small injuries and a few broken bones."
"This is the first time that a scar had been left behind after the healing. Perhaps it is due to how deep and clean the cut was?"
"Maybe?" I said, with me just as confused as her. "Erm, how about we get back to the Seekers down there?" I pointed in the distance, where we could see a few figures around some tied up people on the ground.
"Oh! I didn't notice they were there!" Fea remarked with surprise.
"Yes well I was trying to tell yo – you know what, never mind! Let's just go!" I declared as we began to walk down to where they were.
As we were walking, I asked Fea an important question. "So… First time under the sun. How is it?"
"Oh it's amazing Cade!" Fea let out a sigh of pleasure when I said that. "I've never felt anything like this before! How can you live under something so wonderful every day?"
"Ah, you get used to it. It becomes especially nice to see when it's been raining for a few days. Trust me, you may want to see the rain fall from the sky, but you'll feel real miserable after a few seconds. It's such a gloomy thing the rain." I informed her.
We then got to the closer to the Seekers and I could see Elder Lotho. He must have decided to join the search for his daughter. Next to him I saw Mato and further to his right was all the Seekers.
To the right of all the Seekers, I saw the 12 bandits that tried to kidnap Fea. They were all tied up and were kneeling on the ground, their hands and legs bound. I saw that anytime one of them tried to speak up, they would get a kick to the knees by one of the Seekers.
One of the Seekers saw us and let out a loud shout to the other Seekers and Elder Lotho. They then all turned to us and showed a look of shock when they saw me carrying Fea in my arms. Elder Lotho, Mato and some of the other Seekers ran up to us to see if Fea was alright. I guess in their perspective, she might be hurt as I was carrying her.
"Fea!" Elder Lotho cried as he ran up to the both of us. When he got to us, he pulled Fea out of my arms and gave her a big hug, lifting her up into the air. "I'm so glad to see you're ok! I thought you were about to be killed by those horrible criminals!" He exclaimed with happiness as he rejoiced in having us daughter back.
Fea began to cry again now that she was back with her father. "F-Father!" She cried as she sniffed away the tears that came pouring out of her.
I looked at the both of them with a small smile. "Another job well done."
"Is that a common phrase that everyone in a guild says when they complete a job?" Came a voice beside me. "I'm kidding of course. I often think that after a good day of work."
I turned and saw Mato standing with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. Before I could say a remark back to him, he suddenly looked quite concerned.
"What happened to you up there? There's a thin line running down your face. Is… that a scar?" He asked with concern.
"Oh right… Yeah… I won the fight against the guy up there, but he left me with an injury that left a scar. Even when Fea healed me it didn't go away." I informed Mato.
I then traced my hand along the scar.
Like Fea said, it wasn't super puffy or swollen. It felt thin and smooth. Perhaps Fea's healing stoped it from getting any worse? I could however still feel a very small but noticeable dip when I ran my finger along the scar.
"You sure you're ok?" Mato asked, him concerned for me.
"I think I'll be ok. It doesn't hurt anywhere, and it isn't swollen or puffy. I'm just nervous that my mother will freak out." I said with fear at her reaction.
Some of the other Seekers began to go over and express their relief that Fea was safe. Also I could hear Fea and her father talking about what happened to her.
"Hey wait! Is Master Han ok? Will he recover?" I suddenly remembered the condition of the Master when I last saw him.
"No need to worry, we just had someone from the village come and tell us his condition. He'll be fine even without Fea. That bullet that he was hit with just messed up his senses and quickly drained his magic. He's been recovering while unconscious." Mato assured me.
"Phew, that's a relief." My gaze then shifted over to the tied up bandits. "Well I can see that you were busy there. You needed some backup to take care of them all?" I asked in an amused tone.
"Of course not."
"What do we plan on doing with them anyway?" I wondered as I now looked over to where they were.
"That will be up to the Elder. It is always his decision on what fate should befall those who involve themselves with this village for all the wrong reasons." Mato stated with a serious expression.
Elder Lotho then made his way over to me, with Fea walking beside him. He spoke up when he got to me. "Young Cade. You have saved my daughter from whatever fate would have befell her had she been taken away by those horrible bandits. For your effort in doing this for me and my village, I shall grant you two favours, and I promise I will try to fulfil them the best that I can." Elder Lotho spoke with heavy gratitude.
"Thank you Elder Lotho!" I jumped with surprise, not expecting such a huge favour. What were the limits of this?
"Simply come to me when you have an idea on what they are. I will now be passing my judgment on these scum here." He gestured his head back to the bandits. "Afterwards we shall make quick haste to return to the village. Travellers might get suspicious as to our presence."
Elder Lotho then made his way over to the bandits. I watched with curiosity. How would the Elder punish the bandits?
Elder Lotho now stood before the bandits, looming over them. "You have broken into our peaceful and tranquil home, kidnapped my daughter and tried to kill one of my dear friends!" He yelled with anger at them.
The bandits began to whimper in fear of the huge man before them.
"For such a serious crime, and the way you treated my daughter when she was captured, you will be faced with the most serious punishment we have: Execution." He stated with no sound of remorse in his voice. "You shall be killed here and your bodies will be dumped into the nearby sea. No one will miss you."
"W-What?! Execution?!" I spluttered in surprise to Mato.
Mato grimaced. "This is the first time the Elder has issued such an order. I did not think he would do it."
"But they don't deserve to be killed! They may be scum and criminals, but they should face justice for their crimes. This is too far!" I pleaded to Mato.
I watched as Elder Lotho continued on speaking with the bandits before he then turned to a Seeker. Him clearly issuing the order to him. I also saw that Fea was looking away, her looking a bit uncomfortable as to what was going on right now.
'Does she not agree with her father's method of punishment? And she was the one who was kidnapped!'
Thinking quickly I ran up to Elder Lotho, before he could order the execution. "Wait Elder Lotho! Please don't kill these people!" I begged him.
Elder Lotho turned and gave me a curious look, him raising an eyebrow at me. "What? You wish for me to spare these criminals? For what reason?" He questioned.
"They may be complete scum and only care about profit, while also not caring how they get it. But the truth is they don't deserve to be killed for it! Just send them to Aster Village, and the patrol of Crocus guardsmen will take them to Crocus for punishment there. They've probably committed all sorts of crimes before this. It's right that they decide what punishment to issue out to them." I explained carefully.
"And how do I know they will not spill the secret of our village?" Elder Lotho said back.
"Don't you have a memory wizard here? You can have him wipe their minds and remove any information on Lavender Village." I rebutted.
Despite my solid argument for the mercy of the bandits, Elder Lotho still seemed quite hesitant to follow through on my request. Seems he left me no choice. To think I'd have to use one right now!
"I'll make it one of the favours you owe me! You said you'd do what you could to make it happen. So this is it: Spare the criminals, wipe their memories and take them to Aster Village." I requested.
Elder Lotho seemed a bit surprised by me using up one of my favours so quickly. He however seemed to back down after hearing my request there.
"Very well." He said firmly. "I did say that would do everything I can to fulfil it." He then shifted his gaze to two of the Seekers next to him. "You two. Wipe the memory of Lavender Village from their minds and them take them to Aster Village. Wait for the next set of guardsmen from Crocus and hand them over."
The two Seekers nodded their heads and went to the criminals to begin the mind wiping. This seemed to cause the criminals to simply fall unconscious afterwards. Many of the other Seekers began to speak among themselves, now that the tension in the air had eased.
Elder Lotho then turned away from them and back to me. "Well. I can't say I'm surprised by your kindness there. Should have expected a wizard like you to say that." He confessed to me.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" I questioned in confusion.
"I'll tell you about that another time. How about when we get back to the village?" He suggested to me. "I should have a bit of free time."
"Sounds good. I need a lie down after all that fighting and running…" I sighed deeply.
"Alright then!" The Elder turned around to face all of his people. "Let's head back to the village. We wouldn't want someone coming across us now."
With that said, we all made our way back to the forest that led to the village. We left the two Seekers with the bound criminals so they could later be transported and imprisoned.
As we were walking back, I felt a bump to my right side. I turned around and saw Fea smiling at me.
"Oh Fea! I had thought you'd be with your father. Did you slip away from him?" I wondered.
"I just asked him if I could walk next to you. He said yes and here I am!" She giggled.
"I see your legs are feeling better." I said as I looked down at her legs that were now moving quite casually. "It's a good thing they are. I'd hate to have to carry you back to the village. I mean I'd do it, but I'd be exhausted afterwards." I said as I looked ahead.
I swore I heard a deep sigh from Fea when I said that. When I turned round I saw her giggling again. She seems to notice my gaze and addressed herself.
"O-Oh. Just remembered something funny that's all!"
"Excuse me, Cade?" Came the voice of Mato to my left.
"Hmm? What is it Mato?" I questioned as I turned around to face him.
"I just realised something that I should have realised earlier. I was simply so caught up with the reunion that I forgot to ask you." Mato then lowered his voice a little so only I could hear him. "What happened to the man who chased after Fea into the trees? You went after him and you never told me what happened to him."
I grimaced at the reminder. "He… got away. I did beat him in the fight we had up there, but he gave me a slash with his knife and I blasted him in the stomach. I guess he used that opportunity to slip away. I'm sorry…"
Mato seemed concerned about that. "Damn… I thought that I saw someone riding a horse a few minutes after you went into the trees away from us, but it was hard to see in the dark. I just assumed one of the horses got a fright from the chaos happening."
"Please don't blame yourself for it Cade! You were in no position to go after him!" Fea quickly interjected.
"I agree with Fea. He pulled a rather cheap move against you. Don't let it bring you down, I can bring that up to the Elder if you wish." Mato offered.
"It's ok… I'll mention that to him when I go and see him today." I told Mato. "Say… This may sound strange, but do you think he was actually a member of a Dark Guild?"
"You know I was thinking the same thing. The way the bandit leader ordered him to go after Fea when she the horse she was strapped on ran off. Now to mention from the questions we asked the bandits, they had no personal affiliation with any Dark Guilds. Of course they could be lying." Mato spoke up.
"I found his behaviour quite different to how many Dark Guild members behave. He actually gave me a chance to walk away from him and leave Fea with him. But I never planned on taking that offer, not in a million years."
"Right!" Chimed Fea as she brushed her side next to me again. "I was so happy when I saw you come to save me! I thought I was a goner!"
By this point we had reached the forest, where the thick trees covered the sunlight, preventing it from entering the forest.
We had all entered the shade, but I noticed that Fea hadn't came with us. She was still outside in the sun looking back at the fields, hills and paths.
"Fea?" Came the voice of her father.
"Yes I'm coming father. Just want to get one last look…" She smiled as she turned back to him. Her father allowed this, and a minute later she turned around and came into the forest with us. Fea seemed satisfied from what I could see, clearly she enjoyed being under the sun.
We all then began to make our way through the forest and back into the village. There wasn't that much interesting talk as we walked. Fea did keep bumping into me accidentally, this sometimes involved me catching her, much to my slight annoyance.
After a fine walk, the group of us made it back to the entranceway to the village. When we got there, Elder Lotho called for everyone to listen, as he had something to say.
"Everyone! We have been successful in stopping those who wished to kidnap my daughter for their own evil wishes. While I do thank many of you here for your contribution and willingness to save her, I must express my gratitude to Cadewell Philipe here." He gestured out his hand to me.
"If it were not for his help, we may have never found her. This is not just a reminder; but a statement to you all, that he is a valued guest of our village. I expect him to be treated well and respected as if he is one of our own! Let's give him our thanks!" Elder Lotho cried with enthusiasm.
There were many cheers when he said that from the Seekers, Mato and Fea. Fea especially seemed to give it her hardest when cheering for me. Then came a few applauds with some chatter along with that.
"Didn't expect him to help us out like this." "He's from Fairy Tail right?" "We're lucky you were here." "Guess that's another favour to an outsider." "Thanks for that kid!" "Seems like we owe you one now." "Well done there kid."
Something I heard one of the Seekers say there caught my ears for some reason, but I didn't get much time to dwell or ask about it, as they were now all heading back inside the mountain through the doorway. Mato and Elder Lotho soon followed, and I was the last to enter alongside Fea. The door closed behind us and we were now back under the mountain.
With that, all of us made our way down the passage way that led into the village. Despite being away from the sun again, Fea seemed to be relaxed and comfortable. This is her home after all.
As we were walking back to the village, I really began to get a bit nervous about how my mother would react about my scar. There was no way I could hide it from her, she's my mother after all! She'll probably see it immediately and fear what happened to me out there. And only right after I told her that I was confident about getting into fights.
We later came up on the village, and I saw no villagers outside wandering around the village. They must still be in their home hiding. Everyone made their way down the path into the village, and we stopped just after reaching even ground. Elder Lotho turned to address the Seekers.
"Everyone! Tell our people that we have returned and that my daughter is safe! Tonight we will have a great feast to celebrate her return!" He cried to them.
All the Seekers ran off to let the villagers know that we have returned from our mission. Mato also went with them, but before I could go as well Elder Lotho stopped me.
"Listen to me Cade. I'm sure your mother is dying to wonder if you are safe or not. She will most likely be with Han in the infirmary. I would recommend that you go and see her." He suggested.
"I could take you there!" Fea chirped up with happiness. "You do not mind do you father?" She asked her father.
"I don't mind, but I want you straight back to our house Fea!" Elder Lotho ordered as he pointed a finger at Fea. He then moved that finger to me. "You better make sure she doesn't get kidnapped again!"
"Y-Yes sir!" I cried in panic at the stern gaze he gave me.
Fea then took my hand all of a sudden. "Come on, come on! Let's go!" She said desperately, as she started pulling my hand.
I then found myself being dragged across the village by Fea and was forced to move faster to not be dragged across the ground. After a minute of running across the village, we both made it to the infirmary.
"Here we are!" Fea declared. "Your mother and Han are probably in there."
We stood before a decently sized building. It wasn't as big as Fea's house or the monastery, but it was still bigger than the average house in the village. There was a set of double doors that led in, with two glass windows to the side of the door.
"I guess this place doesn't see that much traction around here. Until today of course." I said to Fea, as we both made our way inside.
Upon entering the infirmary, there was a woman at a small desk who looked surprised to see me, and even more surprised to see Fea. She gasped with delight upon seeing her.
"F-Fea you're ok!" The woman cried. "Oh! Are you here to see Han? He's just though the back there." She pointed to set of doors across from where we were standing.
Fea thanked the lady, and we both then made our way to the set of doors. As we got up to the doors, I could hear two voices behind the door having a conversation. The first was another woman whose voice I didn't recognise. The second… was my mother.
Right before Fea opened the door, I quickly covered the left side of my face with my hand so that mother can't see my new scar. I still didn't know what I was supposed to say to her!
When the door did open, I saw Master Han lying down on a recovery bed. My mother and the other lady sat to his left and right respectively. When they heard the door open, they turned to see who it was.
The lady who I didn't recognise looked relieved and happy to see Fea. My mother on the other hand… she widened her eyes in surprise and put her hands over her mouth in shock. She then immediately ran up to me and gave me a big hug.
"Cade!" She cried out with joy. "You're ok! I thought that something might have happened to you out there, and that's why you were taking so long!" She squeezed me tighter when she said that.
"Umm… yeah I'm ok…" I muttered to her, as I hugged her back with my remaining hand. "Er, how is Master Han? Is he recovering?" I said trying to change the subject.
The women that was in the room spoke up. "He is recovering slowly but surely. However, now that Fea is here I believe that we can speed up the process. She should help with his recovery." The women nodded to Fea. She must be the nurse tending to him
"Right." Fea said, as made her way over to Han. She then placed her hand on his bandaged shoulder, and began to focus her magic on him. My mother and I broke out hug to see if he would be ok.
Fea then began to use her magic to fix up Master Han's shoulder. A few moments later, she removed her hand and I saw Master Han begin to stir a little. Then I saw him open his eyes slowly.
"Master Han! You're ok!" I cried out in joy.
"Young Cade? June?" He said weakly as he looked at the both of us. "Ah! The assassin, what about him?!" He exclaimed suddenly as he sat up with a worried expression.
"It's ok Master Han!" I assured him quickly. "I was able to take care of the assassin and save Fea! Turns out that these bandits wanted to kidnap her for their own evil purposes. They asked that assassin to kidnap her." I then went on to explain the context of what happened to him.
"You were able to beat him?" He gave a sigh of relief at that mention. "Very well done young Cade." He nodded in thanks. "Is your face ok? You've been holding it since I woke up."
I froze.
"Oh, uh…" I was struggling to think of an explanation.
"I was about to ask that myself." My mother spoke up softly. "Did you hurt it out there?"
"… Something like that…" I said quietly.
"Let me see." Mother said she came up to me. She then put her hand on my hand that was hiding my scar. She tried to gently move it away, but I was hesitant and resisted. Mother gave me a look of confusion. "Cade-?" She began to say.
"Look… I just… I don't want you to freak out." I confessed to her.
"Cade? What's wrong?" She said sternly, yet I could hear concern in her voice as well.
"I'll… I'll show you. Just please let me explain when I do ok?" I pleaded to her. "Please don't panic."
"I-I'll try…"
I then slowly removed my hand for Master Han and mother to see my scar. When she could see it she let out a small gasp, and widened her eyes in fright. Master Han looked taken aback to see such an injury on me. Mother hadn't immediately started to speak up about it, so she was giving me a chance to explain.
"Listen! I beat the guy that kidnapped Fea and shot Master Han. But when I moved over him to tie him up, he suddenly tried to slash me with a knife he had hidden in his pocket. It got my face, but Fea was able to close the wound and stop the bleeding, but the outline of the wound remained somehow." I explained carefully.
When I finished speaking mother took a shaky deep breath, closed her eyes and addressed me. "We need to talk. Outside now." She ordered with a shaky voice.
"Look I'm sor-"
"Outside!" She repeated herself with a louder voice.
She didn't need to tell me a third time. I turned to Fea and Master Han. "I'll er, see you guys later." Then I quickly exited the room with my mother behind me. We left the infirmary and when the doors closed behind us I chose to speak up to mother. She was behind me as we exited the building, so I spoke up to her while she was behind me.
"Look. I am sorry about what happened. But I'm ok now! Fea was able to fix me up and-"
I stopped speaking as I heard something.
I turned around that my mother was wiping her face with her hands, and she was sniffing to herself quietly. Her face was turning red.
She was crying.
I had made my mother cry
I immediately panicked when seeing this, and tried to comfort her. "H-Hey! P-Please don't cry! Look really I'm ok. It doesn't even hurt when I move my fingers over it. And it's not puffed up!"
She then removed her hands from her face and looked up at me. Her face was red due to the tears, which were running down her face. I could see that every corner of her eyes had water blotched up in them.
"When your father died…" My mother began to say.
'F-Father…!' I thought with surprise.
"I was so worried about you going on jobs. I always knew how dangerous they were now that he had died on one. How would I be able to face myself if you died on them as well?!" She cried with anguish.
She gave a sniff before she continued to speak to me.
"Every time… Every time you come back from a job you always say how dangerous it was and how you'll be more careful. But you always came back saying how you nearly died while doing them!"
"First it was the time with the Werewolf that tried to kill you. After that you faced a horde of monsters in a forest by yourself. Then you almost died climbing a cliff on a job due to your fear of heights. Now you almost got your eye slashed out by a knife!" She cried out, as more tears began to pour out of her eyes.
"I just don't want to lose you too! Every time you go on a job now, you come back telling me how dangerous it was! Whenever you leave home now, I get worried that I may never see you again!"
I felt my insides scrunching up in pain. Mother really felt this way? Why hadn't she told me?!
"W-Why haven't you told me this?" I asked with sorrow.
"Because I didn't want you to give up doing what you love." She said as she sniffed from the tears. "What would you have done if I told you that I was nervous that you would be killed on a job and that I wanted you to stop?"
I suddenly realised where she was going with this and I was the one to gasp in surprise. "I would have probably stopped taking most jobs to not worry you…"
My mother gave me a half sob. "We know each other so well. At first I was skeptical about your safety, but I don't know what I'm going to do now that you've came back with a scar like that!" She began to sob again.
I took a moment to think about what she let out to me there.
…
…
…
"I think I know what you should do… If you'd let me tell you!" I suggested with eagerness.
My mother was able to stop crying, and looked at me despite the red blotches under her eyes.
"Please… mother… I… I want you to believe in me! More than you ever had before!" I cried with determination.
Mother gave me a shocked look.
"The truth is… I don't want to stop going on jobs even though they are super dangerous. By going on them I can help people who need it the most. Also if I didn't then the biggest reason I have this mark on me would become pointless!" I rolled up my sleeve to show her my Fairy Tail guild mark. "To stop going on jobs means that I'd be forfeiting my guild mark and any future time at Fairy Tail."
"I really don't want to have to leave Fairy Tail due to not doing any jobs. I love it there! There's good people there that love speaking to you, you're always welcomed there and it's fun to hang around them! I've made so many friends there, I… don't want to not keep hanging out with them anymore."
"To be honest… I never did ask to see if you were ok with me going on big and dangerous jobs. I'm… sorry for not asking. But I promise for real that I'll be more careful on them! I want you believe in me! That I'll come home with no major injuries or anything life threatening. I can't do anything about the dangers on the jobs; they just come with them, but I will be more serious and careful on them!"
"So please… I'll promise you that I'll be more careful on these jobs for real going forward, and could you promise to let me go on them without that much trouble?" I finished saying.
Mother gave a few more sobs before she wiped away the tears using a handkerchief she had in her pocket. She then looked to forward to me, before she then pulled me in for a big hug.
"C-Cade! Y-You better promise that you'll be careful on them! If you come back with another scar like that, you're in for it young man!" She gave another sob, as more tears came out of her eyes. "I don't want you to stop going on jobs if that's what you love. J-Just be careful ok!?"
I returned the hug, and found myself beginning to cry now.
"I-I promise!" I declared as I tightened my arms around her. "I'll always make sure to come home just as I left! I won't be getting killed on any quests, I swear on my father's name!" I swore as I began to sob.
The both of us then began to cry a lot more while still hugging each other. After I lost track of time, I pulled away from her and she gave me her handkerchief for me to wipe my eyes with. After I wiped my eyes, I gave the handkerchief back to mother.
"Thank you for accepting my promise." I said to mother, a lot clearer now that I had calmed down.
Mother gave me a half glare, as she raised her eyebrow at me. "You just swore on your father's name there. You better be careful now." She warned me.
By swearing on my father's name, it meant that I would be giving it my all to win on jobs that would put my life on the line. I wouldn't be making dumb mistakes against any dark wizards or any criminals that threatened me. This scar I had would also be a reminder of that, as it showed me what could come of doing such things.
"Yes, yes!" I held up my hands in defence. "It's because this means so much to me that's all."
Mother nodded slightly. "Well… I won't hold you back from going on jobs. If any opportunity appears to you, then take it Cade." She then gave me a kind smile. "Even if it's Gildarts wanting you to go on an S-Class quest with him."
"I… think I'm a bit far away for that yet." I admitted. "But I'll keep that in mind if it ever comes up in the future."
"By the way…" I spoke up to her. "Elder Lotho gave me a favour because I saved Fea. I have a few ideas on what to use it on, but I wanted to check them with you before I bring them to him."
"A favour?" Mother thought about this. "Oh! Could you ask him if we could take some of the books in the library here back with us? I simply love reading them!" She said with joy at the idea.
"I… guess that's an option?" I scratched my head awkwardly at the idea.
"Well let's still hear your ideas." Mother suggested quickly after I spoke.
"Alright. There's a few, but I think this one might be the best." I said, before I then filled mother on at my idea.
A few minutes later I was standing outside of Elder Lotho's house with Fea by my side.
When I finished making promises and shedding tears with my mother, I made my way back inside the infirmary to get Fea to take me to her father house. I was told that Master Han was needing to remain in the infirmary for the rest of the day to recover more of his strength.
Fea's magic may have healed his wound, but not his internal energy. Mother decided to head back to the monastery for the rest of the day. I on the other hand, wanted to use my final favour. I had asked Fea to take me to her father's house and she more than obliged.
"Well in we go!" Fea said to me with a smile.
We passed the two Seekers that the entrance, neither if them stoping me and we both entered the house.
I didn't get that much time to look around, as Fea quickly asked me a question.
"So before I show you to my fathers room… would you like to see my room first?" Fea suggested nervously.
Before I could give her an answer to that question, Fea's father came across the two of us from atop of the stairs.
"Fea? Cade?" He said with surprise. "What are the both of you doing here?"
"Oh Elder Lotho! I just came here because I had a few questions I wanted to ask you. You did say earlier today that you would answer any of them later on." I called up to the man from atop the stairs.
"Indeed I did say that. Why don't you come up to my office and we'll talk up there?" He spoke down to me.
"Sure." I then turns to Fea. "Er, sorry. Was going to come and see your room but your father is right here. I'll see it later!" I said to her, as I went the stairs to join her father in his study. I thought I heard Fea make a sound from her voice when I said that, but I might have been imagining things.
When I got to the top of the stairs, I followed Elder Lotho until I got to a open room, with a desk that had a few drawers beneath it, and two chairs on each side of the desk. The room had wooden walls, along with a wooden floor as well. A few cabinets sat at the back of the room.
Elder Lotho sat down at his desk, and beckoned me to sit on the other side. I did so, and he spoke to me. "Well then. What sort of questions do you have?" He inquired.
"A few… I've been wondering most of them since I got here. Hopefully I can get them answered. Also… I might have thought of my final favour." I addressed the Elder.
Elder Lotho let out a half laugh. "Hahaha! I gave you the favours this morning and you've already almost used them up! You must have something you really want here." He said in an amused tone, him clearly curious as to what the final favour would be.
"Well I'll start with that then. I think it might be best if I get straight to the point: Could I invite some of friends here for my birthday?"
Elder Lotho looked surprised to hear that.
"What?"
Only one day until Christmas! All I want for Christmas is the view count for this story to be fixed… Seems almost all the authors on here are having that issue… Like I said before, I will be uploading another chapter tomorrow.
Anyway that's another chapter done! Do leave a review on your thoughts.
Cade now has a permanent scar that comes right over his birthmark. That will be an interesting story to tell the guild. It shall also serve as a reminder that the man who gave it to him is still out there.
And hey, scars are cool.
Also, Cade and his mother have finally made peace about Cade going on jobs. Now he can go on whatever sort of jobs he wants as long as he's careful.
To be fair, a child who actually HAS a caring parent in the Fairy Tail universe, probably wouldn't approve of their child going against monsters and evil wizards that want to kill you at such a young age. I felt it would be natural for June to be hesitant on this whole thing. Thankfully for Cade, she trusts him enough for him to do what he wants in the guild now.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. The next shall finally answer some questions you have probably been wondering about Lavender Village. See you then!
Guest: Thank you for the positive review! I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the story!
