-The Enchanter of Fairy Tail-

Chapter 53: Confessions.

Year: X758. 26 years till Canon begins.

Cade POV:

Days had passed since my job with Ur. In that time I had been mentally preparing myself for the big day coming up with Lilly. I had planned to ask Lilly out for dinner at one of Magnolia's restaurants. For that, proper clothing would be needed.

One day I was shopping for some much nicer clothes to wear, and I ended up stumbling across Gildarts who was also shopping for some clothes. We both were surprised to see each other, and he asked me why I was doing here, because Gildarts never saw me as the fashion type of guy (and he is right by that if I'm being honest).

I decided to be brave and tell him about my day that was coming up, and what I planned to ask Lilly. Gildarts nearly fainted when I told him. Sure he knew that me and Lilly had gotten closer in these last few months, but he must have not thought that I would be the one ready to ask her out.

He then stayed on my backside for the rest of the day asking what it was that I was planning to do, what I planned to say to her and when it would be happening. While I wasn't able to go the rest of the day without a moment's peace, I did ask him for some advice on the matter.

Gildarts wasted no time in helping me by giving me advice on what restaurants I should be seeking out for a good dinner. He also helped he out by giving me some comments on my choice of outfit for the night in question.

When Gildarts looked at it, giving it a good examine up and down. He grinned and gave me a thumbs up.

I was confident in my attire for the night, so the next thing was to decide to restaurant.

I was able to get this information from mother, in which I asked her in a casual conversation what where some of the better restaurants in town. She gave me a curious look, as I never really asked her what the restaurants in town were like. That is something that happens when you have two great servants to cook for you.

Mother answered saying that the Delinary Restaurant was the best, as that was the one that mother went to on her first date with father.

Now all I had left to do was ask Lilly for the day that she wanted to go. I decided to head down to town to ask her, to get it done instead of pushing it aside to avoid doing it.

I bravely chapped the door to her house and was happy to see that Lilly was the one to answer the door. If it were her mother, then she would be curious as to why I was here to see Lilly. She had also been interested in what me and Lilly had been doing for the last few months.

I asked Lilly if she wanted to go out to the Delinary Restaurant for dinner on Saturday at a requested time. Lilly agreed but gave a look of surprise when she heard me say that restaurant, as according to her; it was the restaurant where her father proposed to her mother. She then gave me a suggestive smile and asked me why I was inviting her there.

I was (mostly) able to stop my face from turning red, and quickly said that it was for something important, before I said farewell to her and made an excuse to leave.

As I did leave, I did feel even more nervous about the day now that I knew it was coming. During the next few days until the big date, Gildarts spent more time with me asking if I was ready for it. All I could say was a simple no in response.

Cornelia had also found out about the whole upcoming date from Gildarts. I get the feeling she found some sort of way to convince him to spill the information. As expected, she took no pity in teasing me, by asking things like how long I've loved Lilly, or how long I've dreamed for this moment. In these cases I just shooed her away.

She promised she wouldn't tell Lilly anything though, which was relieving.

Pierce and Charles also seemed to notice my apprehension in the coming days. They did not come and ask me how I was feeling, but I did notice that they were paying closer attention to me then usually would when they were working. I felt like if I told them then they would be nervous for me, and that would only make ME more nervous as a result.

As for Fairy Tail, I had gone up to Master Makarov and casually said that I would be taking a small break to relax a little. He gave me a smile with a pat on the back and said that I had been working hard, so I deserved a break.

With my outfit acquired, the location and date for the restaurant confirmed and everyone that I did and did not want to know about what was happening informed/not informed; it was time to wait for the day in question.

While I waited for the remaining days to come by, I did a few things, one being not to go and see Lilly.

Truth was, I felt like it would be harder if I were to see her again before Saturday. For some reason it felt right for me to wait until the date to see her.

I also made sure to plan something special after the date for her. That would the moment of truth.

When I found myself not doing that much until the big day came, I did read some of the books in my room. Now I did consider finding a book that Pierce and Charles got me for my 10th birthday. It was… one that gave you advice for picking up a girl that you like – but I decided against this. If they found out about that then I would be humiliated for years to come. I wasn't THAT desperate!

And so on Friday, I sat down on my bed during the night and thought about the day tomorrow. This was a whole new feeling of fear, yet I never thought I would be afraid of something like this years ago.

Tomorrow I was to head up to Lilly's at 6:00pm and then we would head to the restaurant for dinner. After that, I would spring my special plan and hopefully things would go just as I was hoping.

I had already saw the restaurant earlier in the week, so I knew what I was ordering and I knew that there was food there that Lilly liked as well. With luck, we should all enjoy our time there with no complaints.

As I got into bed that day, I took a few deep breathes and closed my eyes to bring myself to the next day.

I woke up to the sound of movement outside my room. Were Pierce and Charles already cleaning upstairs?

I hopped up out of bed and headed downstairs to have some breakfast and get dressed. As I passed through the corridor that led into my room, I did see Pierce and Charles cleaning the other rooms in the manor. Wonder what time I would have woken up at if not for them?

As I headed downstairs and had some breakfast that was already laid out for me, I saw mother reading a newspaper while sitting at a table.

"Heya, how'd you sleep?" I greeted her with a wave.

"Oh I slept fine." Mother replied as she took a sip of tea that was on the table. "Today is the day that Lyra hands over her Celestial Spirit Keys to her daughter." Mother said as she looked at her newspaper.

"The newspaper tell you that?" I asked as I ate some food.

"No that was told to me in a letter by her. She feels that her daughter is ready to have the keys now. She'll need it considering that she will be inheriting her families fortune." Mother explained to me. She then looked at me with a smile. "But how did you sleep?"

"Oh great. Slept very well." I said as calmly as I could, as I took another bite of food.

"Have anything planned today? I'm fairly sure this is your last day that you chose to take off in Fairy Tail." Mother stated.

I casually shrug my head. "No, nothing planned today." I would tell her about my (hopefully successful) date until after I came back. I could only imagine how she would feel and what she would say to me.

Mother gave a look of surprise. "Oh." She then turned back to her tea. "It's nothing just thought that you would have something on today for some reason." She waved her hand at me, before she pulled the newspaper up to her face and read it.

'You know nothing mother!' I thought with a internal grin, before I finished my breakfast and went up to get washed and dressed.

When I got up into the grand bathroom I had a nice shower, before I dryed myself down and made my way over to the mirror in the room. When I finished brushing my teeth and spat into the sink, I looked up and saw myself in the mirror.

My face had matured and somewhat hardened from the young boy that I was years ago. My jet dark hair now came down to just above my eyebrows and was trimly cut at the back of my head; it not coming to far down my neck. My emerald green eyes were not nearly as green as they when I was a lot younger, but still shinned a light green colour. My scar that I had received from Jones was covering my small birthmark almost completely. The scar came just down from my left eye and close to my nose in an upward diagonal direction. It was no longer red and was now almost the same colour as my skin.

Since I had been working on fighting wizards and monsters, running from most Rune Knights, as well as getting knocked around in Fairy Tail whenever any brawls were started, my chest was now quite well packed with mussel and strength. My arms also had some muscle running down them.

In other words, yes I had abs. Still I was only 15, turning 16 this year so they were still a bit small.

I'm not sure what my ten-year-old self would have thought if he saw me here today. Considering that I never would have thought that I would look like this, little me would have thought that future me was a stranger.

I then stopped looking myself over, before I got dressed into some casual clothes. I would get changed into my more fancy clothes when I got closer to the time.

I then exited the bathroom and decided to do some light reading on the news, to see what was happening in the world. My mother had left the newspaper she was reading on the table of the dining room, so I took that into the lounge to see what was happening.

A few hours passed and I learned of some rather interesting information across Fiore.

The first was that Master Makarov was able to move up another rank as a Wizard Saint. I didn't think that you could move up in the ranks, but it seems I was wrong. All you had to do apparently was just authorise a match between you and ranked Wizard Saint above you. If you won, then the rank would be yours. It of course had to be watched by a Magic Council member for it to be approved though.

Speaking of the Magic Council, it said here that a new branch in the Magic Council had just been set up to take down Dark Guilds. Apparently, it was formed by an ex-Commander of the Magic Council's Rune Knight division. It says here that the guild called Tartaros was the main target, as it is apparently the strongest Dark Guild that they have encountered. Yet that was all the information on the matter that the newspaper stated. Perhaps Yajima knew more? I could always ask him when I next see him.

There was also some information about some new guilds that had been set up across the country that were asking for some independent wizards to join them to help bolster their ranks. I could only imagine the difficulty that came with starting a guild from scratch.

I also spotted a small part that said that a brand-new amusement resort had opened up down at Akane beach. It was quite a popular beach that was popular with the tourists around Fiore. Also, it was only a few train stops away which was nice.

That got me thinking. If this night went well…. If it went the way that I hoped it would go… Then this resort… Hmmm…

It was something to keep in mind, as I had now finished the newspaper.

I then spent the rest of the day to relax and feel comfortable enough for the night that was coming.

Eventually though, it was time.

It was only an hour before I was to escort Lilly to the restaurant. I went upstairs and changed into the clothes that Gildarts had approved when I wore them a few days earlier.

This was a tidy white shirt that had a blue blazer over it, along with some blue smooth jeans with a belt and some comfortable brown shoes. I had also tried to comb my hair backwards to make it look nice and more stylish.

I made sure to grab some money to pay for the dinner – God forbid if I forgot and Lilly had to pay.

I tried to sneak out of the house without my mother catching me, however as I came past the doorway to the library it opened, and Pierce and Charles walked out.

They stopped immediately when they saw me.

'OH NO! Why did they have to be the ones to catch me as I'm leaving!?' I thought in horror.

Pierce and Charles just gave a look to each other before they turned back to me.

'Wh-What are they going to say!?' I quickly thought with fear.

"You seem to be looking snazzy Cade." Charles smiled.

"You must have a big afternoon ahead of you." Pierce chuckled.

To my surprise, they just gave me a smile. They then beckoned their heads to the door.

"Go on." They both insisted. "Don't let us keep you from her."

"H-Huh? You aren't going to tell my mother?" I asked with surprise.

"Instead of telling her, I think we can cover for you instead." Pierce nodded to his friend. "Get out there and ask Lilly out as your girlfriend! We've been waiting for this for years now…" Pierce gave a sigh.

My face turned red when Pierce said that. "Oh well – I mean-!" I struggled to get the words out due to how red my face was. "T-Thanks you two."

I gave them a deep smile before I waved them off and exited the manor, shutting the door behind me.

'I guess I owe you guys one in the future.'

I then began to make my way down to Magnolia to where Lilly lived. I had plenty of time, so I was in no real rush to get there.

When I did get to her house it was 5:50pm. Now that was the exact time someone should arrive when doing this sort of thing.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and chapped the door, while making sure that I was presentable enough.

The door then opened in an agonisingly slow motion. When it fully opened, I saw Lilly standing with a smile on her face.

She wore a light red dress that had some beautiful patterns along the bottom of it. For her lower half, she wore some stockings over her legs, and she had some nice white high heels on.

When I took a closer look at her face, I think I saw that her eyelashes were done up and she had a very nice and enveloping smell around her. Her hair was behind her shoulders like it usually was.

"BYE MOM!" Lilly yelled into the house. She then quickly moved past me and closed the door behind her. She gave a sigh of relief, and pressed her back against the door.

"I'm so glad that you came here early!" She said with relief. "My mother was hounding me for ages about why I was wearing such a nice dress!"

"Oh! Well you're welcome." I chuckled. Y-You look great!" I said with confidence.

Lilly blushed a little, and returned the compliment. "Thanks. You look rather handsome in that outfit." She smiled sweetly.

I was able to swallow my embarrassment and spoke up to her. "So, you ready for tonight then?"

"I've been waiting for a while now. Think you could escort me there? I'm not sure where the restaurant is." She requested, her leaving the house to stand by my side.

"I'd be delighted to. Shall we get going then?" I said as smoothly as I could.

"I'm all yours." Lilly said as she walked alongside me.

I then led her to the Delinary Restaurant that was on the other side of town. Along the way I had some conversation with her about how she had been these last few days, and I said how I had been. As we walked, I felt that we really did look like a couple going out on a date with how well dressed we were.

When we got to the restaurant there were thankfully a few tables still available. The waitress there led us to a nice table that was inside and in the corner of the room. This meant that we would be mostly quiet during our time here.

We took our seats at the table, and the waitress handed us the menus of the restaurant, so we could have a look at what we wanted.

When she left, me and Lilly took a look at the menus.

"So, what are you having?" I asked Lilly after we had a look. I had a feeling I knew what she wanted.

"Hmm. I'll be having… spaghetti with meatballs!" She confirmed with a nod.

'Heh, figured.' I realised with an internal smirk.

"So what about you?" Lilly wondered

"Let's see here. I'll be having the herb roasted lamb." I decided.

Lilly looked at that on the menu. "Wow, that's expensive. How much money did you bring?" She wondered.

"I brought 60,000 jewels. I think that'll be enough for drinks, this and maybe even desert." I said with a mischievous wink.

"The lamb and spaghetti look huge though… desert looks unlikely where we are right now. Though I've always found room for desert." Lilly grinned smugly.

A waitress then came and asked if we were ready to order. Me and Lilly ordered some drinks, before we then ordered our food to go with it. The waitress then thanked us before she left.

"So Cade." Lilly said after she left. "Do you think you'll be an S-Class Wizard in Fairy Tail this year or the next?"

I was not surprised by Lilly's question there, as everyone else that I knew had been asking me if I thought that I would get the chance for it, either this year or the year after. Lilly was the last to ask I think.

"I've been thinking about that for a while now." I replied back. "If Master Makarov would announce me as a candidate for this year or the year after… Damn, I've got no idea if I'd even want it…"

"Really?" Lilly was surprised to hear that. "Well I guess it's a big decision." She said, looking a little disappointed. "Well I say that you should never turn down the option for a promotion!" She encouraged.

"Well this promotion doesn't really come with a bigger paycheck." I shrugged. "But… I guess that the S-Class jobs come close to that." I smiled thinly.

It was after this topic was finished that a long-forgotten thought returned to my mind. I had completely forgotten about this.

"You've just reminded me about something Lilly. Do you still want to be a Librarian when you're older? You said that you wanted that when you were younger." I asked the girl.

Lilly looked very surprised to hear and then remember that detail about her past. She gave a laugh when she remembered that.

"I can't believe you remembered that! I had even forgotten that I wanted to be a librarian!" She giggled. "But no, I've changed my mind since then. But it's impressive that you remembered." She praised.

"Most people say that I have a pretty good memory." I said with a small ounce of pride. "I also remember that you were obsessed over mermaids when you were younger." I winked when I said that.

Lilly's laughter ceased and she then looked a bit embarrassed. "H-Hey! They are great and interesting creatures." She defended firmly.

"I remember when Aquarius appeared years ago. You really went crazy when you saw her." I smirked remembering the details.

"I think Gildarts was in love with her..." Lilly remarked, somewhat cringing at the details.

Our drinks then arrived and the waitress told us that the food would not be that long after it. When she left, I took a small drink of my water that I ordered, as I didn't want to be out of water when the food came. Lilly then asked me a question.

"Now here's an interesting question for you Cade: Do you think that you could do a good job of being guild master in Fairy Tail?" She said with amusement and curiosity.

I was a little weirded out by her question there. "Me guild master?" I said in bafflement of the idea. "Then again… Master Cade doesn't have a bad ring to it." I said in realisation. "Master Cade..." I whispered in the air, as I waved my hand at the idea, me thinking of the guild members calling me that.

Then I remembered the things like the Magic Council, paperwork, property damage, guild meetings, handling the building, dealing with guild brawls… Master Makarov ALWAYS complained about those things.

"Actually, on second thought, maybe not." I quickly decided, putting that idea to bed.

Lilly gave me a smile, before she raised her glass to her lips and took a drink. When she put her drink down and swallowed, I was the next to ask her a question.

"Did you hear in the news that they set up a brand-new resort in Akane beach?" I asked as casually as possible.

"Yes I did! Some people at my mom's work were talking about it. Apparently it's soooo good!" Lilly sighed as she seemed to be imagining the resort.

"Y-You know, we could always-"

"Here is your dinner!" Came the voice from a kind sounding waiter from behind us. He held two plates. One with some rather large spaghetti with sauce and meatballs, while the other had some very big cuts of lamb with some herbs sprinkled on top of them.

The waiter smiled at us as he placed the plates on the tables. "Please, enjoy!" He smiled as he then left us.

'Damn… was just about to ask Lilly if she wanted to go to the resort with me…' I sighed but chose to look on the bright side. The food was here!

Me and Lilly then began to devour the food we had in front of us, as we were quite hungry now. I could always ask about the resort later.

The lamb was especially chewy and had a rich flavour to it that I really liked. The herbs were also quite nice and added quite a bit to the lamb. Lilly seemed to be enjoying that spaghetti of hers. She was constantly twirling her fork in the air before she stabbed the food with it, spun it around and ate all the spaghetti and meatballs that were on it.

Several minutes later we had finished the food and were stuffed full. Well almost. I think there was still room for desert in me.

"How about desert then?" I asked Lilly with a smile. "I'm not missing out on it."

"Neither am I. This food was so good that I could become hungry again just to have the desert." Lilly agreed with a sigh.

As we were relaxing in our seats, I asked Lilly a rather interesting question.

"Say. If you could go back in time and do something, what would it be?" I asked with interest. When I asked that, Lilly was thinking for answer for a good few seconds. "Come on we've all thought of something." I insisted.

"I'd… see what my dad was like." Lilly decided.

"Oh yeah... You never did get to see him, huh." I muttered with a frown.

Apparently Lilly's father had chosen to walk out of Lilly's mother's life before Lilly was even born. It made for an awkward subject to bring up between the mother and daughter.

"I don't need to everything about him, I'd just like to know who he is and what he looks like. My mom really did destroy everything she had on him." Lilly frowned. "I mean it might have been for the best but… I don't know." She sighed with defeat.

"I think it's fine that you would like to see what he was like." I agreed. "Just knowing what he was like would give you some perspective into more about your mother as well."

"Yeah I guess you're right." Lilly said with a small smile. "What would you like to do?" She asked after.

Before I could answer, a waitress came to clear our plates and ask if we wanted desert or not. Me and Lilly both agreed and we ordered some ice cream. The waitress thanked and said that it wouldn't be long until it arrived.

I then resumed what I was going to say. "What I would like… That would be to try and stop my father from going on that job that got him killed." I said.

Lilly looked curious. "Why not go and save him on the job itself?" She questioned.

I frowned at that. "Well he's one of the strongest wizards that I know of. I think even I would lose to him if I fought him today." I admitted with a chuckle. "Whatever killed him on that job would probably kill me just as easily as him. I doubt I'd be able to do much to help."

Lilly nodded in understanding. "But if you stopped him from going on that job, he would still be here. But wait. Wouldn't that mean you might not have Enchantment Magic?" She questioned.

"Hmm… Didn't think about that…" I murmured. "Though if I had to chose between my magic and my family, I'd chose my family." I said firmly.

"I'd chose the same if I had magic." Lilly said with a grin.

"That's a good question. If you could have a magic what would it be!" I was eager at what Lilly's answer could be.

Lilly as well looked interested at the idea. "Hmm… maybe Celestial Spirt Magic…? Ooh no! I would like a magic that lets me fix things!" She said with interest, as she looked up in the air, thinking about the idea.

"Fixes things eh?" I was intrigued by the idea. "Yes that's a good magic that I think anyone would want. Especially anyone in Fairy Tail. We do end up destroying more than we intend." I admitted as I took the last drink of water that I had.

"Yeah you've told me all the times that you end up breaking a few buildings while out working." Lilly reminded me. "Though it's Gildarts that everyone watches out for when he's on a job. Master Makarov must sweat buckets when he goes out now." Lilly grinned at the idea.

"Considering that he's been going out more and more on much longer and further away jobs than usual these past few years, I think it's natural that Master hopes that he runs away from the Rune Knights." I added.

Me and Lilly shared a laugh at that, but then Lilly gave me a frown which confused me.

"What's up?" I asked her.

"Oh it's nothing!" Lilly quickly assured me. "It's just… Cornelia seems more and more upset when Gildarts goes away on the longer jobs. Sure he spends some time here with her when he come back, but still…" Lilly muttered at the end.

"Ah right…" I said with a touch of sadness. "Well Gildarts is still trying to make time for her, upon the other things he had to do at the guild. He must hate it as well I'm sure."

After I said that, the dessert came. We had some nice bowls that had some scoops of ice cream in them with some nice chocolate sauce on the side of it. Lilly had ordered strawberry flavoured ice cream, while I stuck with good old vanilla.

It didn't take us long to eat the desert, and when we finished it, I could feel that we were both truly stuffed for the night.

As I looked out the window, I saw that the sun was setting with various shadows of different size layered on the ground and walls of the town. A crisp orange and yellow colour was in the sky.

'Yes, that looks like a good time to move out now.' I decided, preparing for what I wanted next.

"Hey, want to order the bill now?" I asked Lilly.

"I think that would be good. I'm just about done here." Lilly said, as he put her spoon back in her bowl.

I then asked the nearby waiter for the bill, and he said that he would fetch it for me. While he was away, I asked Lilly an important question.

"Lilly? Would you like to go on a walk through Lloyd Park with me after this? I erm, think it'd be nice to do that after this." I requested.

Lilly gave me a look of joy at the idea. She always did like to move through the parks. "I'd love to!" She closed her eyes and clapped her hands at the idea.

"Great! We'll head there after we pay for the bill!" I exclaimed, as the man came back with the bill.

Thankfully it wasn't any more than what I brought with me, so I was able to pay for it with relative ease. When it was done and paid for, me and Lilly exited the restaurant.

With the sun hanging low, and the day coming to a close, I led Lilly to Lloyd Park so we could have one final walk for the night.

Not much conversation was said as we walked over to the park. I was trying to make good conversation, but at the same time I was also trying to think of what I should say to Lilly when we got into the park.

My mind raced for ideas as we walked into the park, with the trees all around us. My mouth moved but my mind was putting all it had for ideas!

I decided that I would speak up to her when I passed by the bench just there to my right.

But then we passed the bench and my mouth did not open.

Thankfully there was a pair of birds on the path we were walking on. When we passed them, I would speak up.

But then we passed the two birds as they flew off into the trees.

'Wh-What am I doing!? I'm right at the end of this, why can't I speak up!? It's as if my mouth is stitched shut!' I thought with anger. 'I-I need to-!'

"LillyIhavesomethingIwanttotellyou!" I spluttered as fast as I could, before I could think anymore.

Lilly turned to me and looked a bit taken aback by my sudden cry there. "Oh… could you say that again?" She asked with a small frown.

"Erm… I have something I have to – no, NEED to tell you." I said with seriousness, and yet fear.

Lilly nodded me to continue. She looked very interested in what I had to say.

I took a deep breath. This was it.

"Look I've known you for around ten years now. And since that day when I first met you when you fell over the wall into my garden, you've always been a friend that I can rely and count on. But…" I trailed off.

"It was a few months ago. I started to feel… strange feelings that I didn't recognise. I felt warm, comfortable and relaxed when I was around you – more so than usual. When I look at you now, I see a beautiful girl that I can't stop thinking about. A beautiful girl that always makes me think when I'll see her again. I don't want to lose these feelings but at the same time I want to follow it further instead of making excuses to go around it!" I stated.

"Look, I erm… may be new to all this sort of stuff… I can't exactly say that I'll be perfect at it, b-but… Lilly. I love you. More than a best friend. If you don't feel the same, then that's fine. I'll still do everything that I can to support you as a friend from where I am." I finished.

"So… do you want to be together as a couple then?" I asked quietly.

Lilly had an emotionless look on her face. She took a breath before she then shifted her facial expression into a…

Smile. She smiled.

Lilly gave a joyful laugh as she took my hands in hers. "Of course I do!" She exclaimed with a big smile.

My mind and heart felt like they exploded with joy. "Y-You do!?" I shouted with delight, a big smile forming on my face,

"I've been waiting for you to say that for a while now." Lilly explained. "You think you're the only one whose had difficult feelings to deal with? I've had strange feelings about you for a while now Cade!" Lilly grinned. "I had to go to my mother for help about them. When she told me what I felt, I couldn't stop thinking about you!" She blushed as she said that.

"Y-You have?!" I said in shock.

'YOU'RE TELLING ME SHE'S LOVED ME FOR WEEKS NOW?!' I screamed internally.

"When you invited me out for this dinner I had a feeling that you would be asking me something like this, so I decided to dress up nice tonight." Lilly said as she whipped her hair back with her hand. "I'm glad I was right." She said she took my hand again.

I gave a cry of delight as I hugged her tightly and spun her around, Lilly also giving me a laugh as I did this.

When I stopped spinning her, we were face to face again, except now our faces were much closer together than they were before.

We… We were so close like this; my heart was going ballistic trying to keep up with how fast it was beating!

I could see right into Lilly's eyes and see myself in them. I could count every eyelash that she had. I could smell the fragrant and sweet smell she had on her.

"C-Cade…" She whispered.

My hand moved up and brushed her hair back behind her ear, in which it then came back to hold her cheek lightly.

"L-Lilly." I whispered as my face moved closer to hers. "I love you."

Our eyes closed and our lips met.

Our first kiss was simple, short and sweet. Only a few seconds, and yet, it was all I could have asked for today.

When we broke the kiss, we opened our eyes and kept our foreheads together, us both smiling to take in this seemingly everlasting and beautiful moment.

*sob* It's enough to make a grown man cry… and that's ok!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this rather romantic chapter! Feel free to leave a review of your thoughts.

Alright, I'll admit that I myself am not much of a romantic. I've dated before, but this was quite hard and yet quite beautiful(?) to write in a way. I'm not the best when it comes to love and romance so forgive me if this feels too robotic or wooden in a way. I won't make the excuse that this is my first Fanfic, as that has nothing to do with romance (unless your story squarely focuses on it unlike mine.)

I know that some may think that I'm heavily rushing into this sudden romance. The truth is, I honestly don't want to write another 60+ chapters of Cade and Lilly going through the motions of being super close to confessing to each other, yet never asking the other out.

Just saying this now: I do LIKE this trope as I find it fun, and as long as both individuals ask the other in the end, it'll feel worthwhile… I just don't want to write it…

I can AT LEAST promise you that Cade and Lilly will get some good development the further that this story goes on.

Ok, rant over from me now.

Cade has now faced his fears and feelings head on and has made love with Lilly at Magnolia Park! Life seems bright for the young man now that he has Lilly by his side as a girlfriend.

That is this arc concluded as well. I quite liked doing things like the Harvest Festival and meeting Ur. The romance was tricky to write admittedly, but I think if I can write that then I can definitely finish this story.

And with that said, I hope to see you in the next chapter! …And happy Easter!

But wait!

While this is a touching and loving experience for our main character, some rather dark and disturbing forces are at work across the continent… Find out next week what they have been up to…
