The Mysterious Pokemon
"So, what exactly are we supposed to do until Kahuna Hala comes back?" asked Eddy.
"I suppose we could explore this area." said Edd.
"Maybe we can see more Pokemon!" said Ed, excitedly.
"Yes. If we're going to compete in the Alola League, we must assemble new teams." said Edd.
"Good idea." said Eddy. Sarah and Jimmy walk up to Edd.
"Double-D? Can we borrow some pokeballs?" asked Sarah.
"I suppose so. Good thing I bought plenty of them back at the Pokemon Center back in Hau'oli City; along with the ones I still have left over from Sinnoh." said Edd. He takes ten pokeballs out of his backpack and hands Sarah and Jimmy each five of them.
"Thanks, Double-D." said Sarah. Edd nods in response. After that, they all begin exploring Iki Town. After looking around for several minutes, Edd approaches a trail on the other end of Iki Town. Next to the path was a sign that reads 'Ruins of Conflict.'
"Oh, there some ruins here, fellows." said Edd. "I'm going to go explore them."
"Wait for us, sockhead." said Eddy as he runs after Edd, followed by Ed, Sarah, Jimmy and their Pokemon. They began walking up the path while Ed was looking around for Pokemon. As Edd was going further up the path, he stops when he sees a girl with blonde hair, wearing a white dress, sunhat, and knee-high shoes, carrying a duffel bag walking up the path and stopping at the end of it. Edd suddenly sees the duffel bag moving. The girl looks at the duffel bag.
"I know, I know. I'll take you to the ruins." said the girl. "So please stay in the bag or someone will see you." She then looks and sees the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy. Edd blushes when she gets a good look at her face.
"Such beauty." said Edd. At the Lemon Brook Juvenile Detention Center, Marie was standing with her fists and teeth clenched and her face turning red. May notices this.
"What wrong, Marie?" asked May. Lee turns toward Marie.
"I don't know, but for some reason, I feel really mad." said Marie. "And I have a feeling it has something to do with my Double-D and a girl!" Back at Alola, the girl in white turns and continues walking up the trail. The Eds, followed by Sarah and Jimmy follow after her. They soon exited the trail to see the girl running to a rickety-looking bridge going over a river when a blue and violet gaseous looking Pokemon pops out of the duffel bag the girl was carrying and begins floating across the bridge. It was halfway across when it stops when it sees three birdlike Pokemon with brown heads and tail feathers and red wings flying towards the bridge.
"Pokemon!" exclaimed Ed, excitedly.
"What are they? They don't look friendly." said Jimmy in a scared tone. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex out of his backpack and points it at the Pokemon.
"Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. Due to its short wings, it can't fly long distances. It wanders around restlessly and pecks at bug Pokemon." said the Rotom Pokedex. The three Spearows circled the gaseous Pokemon as it laid on the bridge, trembling. The girl turns around and sees the Eds.
"Excuse me, but can you help Nebby?" the girl said in a worried tone. A look of determination appeared in Edd's face.
"Don't worry, we shall assist you." said Edd. He turns towards Ed and Eddy. "This should be a good chance to see how well we do with our new Pokemon."
"Yeah!" said Ed.
"Let's get those Pokemon. Mostly because they're birds. I hate birds." said Eddy.
"But be careful, fellows. That bridge doesn't look stable." said Edd.
"Yeah, yeah." said Eddy. The Eds and their starters run, or in Rowlet's case, flew past the girl with Edd getting a closer view of her, making him blush, and they reached the three Spearows. The Spearows turns towards the Eds and flew towards them. The Eds Pokemon each faced a Spearow.
"Ed, be careful. Spearows are flying types, so flying type attacks are strong against grass types like Rowlet." said Edd.
"Rowlet, use Tackle!" said Ed. Rowlet flies at Spearow and rams into it, knocking it back. The Spearow glares at Rowlet and its eyes glow blue, making Rowlet tremble.
"Ed, I think that Spearow used Leer." said Edd. "It weakens the defense of the Pokemon it's used on."
"Rowlet, use Growl!" said Ed. Rowlet emits a cry and soundwaves hit the Spearow.
"Good thinking, Ed. Using Growl to weaken Spearow's attack strength is an excellent strategy." Sarah looks with an astonished look on her face.
"Ed? Thinking? Never thought I see the day." said Sarah. The Spearow swoops at Rowlet and pecks him, doing super effective damage.
"Rowlet, Tackle one more time!" said Ed. Rowlet flies at Spearow and rams it, knocking it onto the bridge, unconscious. "Way to go, Rowlet!" Rowlet does an aerial backflip. At Edd and Popplio, Popplio was facing another Spearow.
"Popplio, Water Gun!" said Edd. Popplio unleashes a spiral of water out of her mouth, and it hits Spearow. The Spearow swoops at Popplio and pecks her. "Popplio, Pound!" Popplio jumps at the Spearow and swings one of her flippers at the Spearow, knocking it onto the bridge, unconscious. "Splendid work, Popplio." Popplio claps her flippers and cheer. With Eddy, he and his Litten were facing down the third Spearow.
"Let's do this, Litten!" said Eddy. Litten takes a battle stance. "Use Leer!" Litten glares at the Spearow, making it tremble and lowering its defense. The Spearow flies at Litten and pecks at his head. "Oh yeah?! Litten, use Scratch!" Litten jumps at Spearow and scratches at its face. The Spearow growls at Litten, making Litten tremble a little bit. "Litten! Use Scratch one more time!" Litten shakes himself back to his senses and scratches Spearow across its chest, knocking it to the ground, unconscious. Sarah and Jimmy look at the Eds and their Pokemon with awe.
"The Eds did so well for their first time with their new Pokemon." said Jimmy.
"I guess their experience with Pokemon back in the Sinnoh region came in handy." said Sarah. The Spearows suddenly got up and flew away.
"Good work, boys." said Eddy.
"Indeed. But why didn't you use Ember?" asked Edd.
"You said this bridge wasn't exactly safe, Double-D. I didn't want to risk burning it." said Eddy.
"A wise choice, Eddy." said Edd. Ed walks up to the Pokemon now known as Nebby and bends over to look at it.
"It's okay, Nebby. You're safe now." said Ed. Suddenly, more Spearows flew at them from all sides. The Eds and their Pokemon surround Nebby to protect it. As the Spearows flew closer, Nebby started giving off a bright blue light. When the Spearows were inches away from the Eds and their Pokemon, the light suddenly explodes and breaks the bridge in half, causing the Eds, their Pokemon, and Nebby to fall into the ravine. Sarah and Jimmy looked with shocked horror as the Eds fell.
"ED!" yelled Sarah.
"Someone save them!" yelled Jimmy. As they fell, the Eds quickly return their Pokemon to their pokeballs to save them.
"What are we gonna do?" asked Ed as he held Nebby close to him and they continued to fall.
"Hope we hit the water instead of one of the rocks!" said Eddy. All of a sudden, a mysterious black Pokemon with yellow wings, and orange legs and plumage flies past the Spearow flying over them, knocking them away with an electrical blast. Before the Eds hit the river, the mysterious Pokemon catches them and carries them up to the side of the ravine they were on. Once safely near solid ground, the mysterious Pokemon drops the Eds and Nebby. Everyone looks at the mysterious Pokemon with awe before it lets out a loud squawk and quickly flies away with a surge of electricity following after it.
"What was that you guys?" asked Ed.
"A Pokemon, I assume." said Edd.
"It sure saved our butts." said Eddy.
"Indeed." said Edd. Sarah and Jimmy came running over to the Eds.
"Are you three okay?" asked Sarah. The Eds examined themselves all over and didn't see any injuries.
"We're okay, Sarah. That cool-looking Pokemon saved us." said Ed. Sarah lets out a sigh of relief.
"That's good." said Sarah. "But don't do anything that stupid ever again! Although that would be too much to ask of you!"
"Okay, Sarah." said Ed. The blonde girl runs over to Nebby and bends down to pick it up.
"Nebby. You tried using your power again; didn't you?" asked the girl. "You remember what happened last time you used your power? You couldn't move for weeks!" Nebby looks down with shame. "I'm sorry. I know you were just trying to help." She then turns to look at the Eds. "Thank you for saving Nebby." Edd blushes in response.
"Y-Y-You're quite welcome." said Edd. Nebby then floats over to something shiny on the ground.
"What's that?" asked the girl. She, the Eds, Jimmy, and Sarah go over to see what Nebby was looking at. They see five sparkling stones on the ground.
"What are those stones?" asked Edd.
"They're shiny." said Ed. The girl bends down to pick them up. She turns towards the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy and hands each of them one of the stones.
"I think these are yours." said the girl.
"Thank you, Ms..." Edd started to say. "I'm sorry, but I don't know your name."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Lillie." said the girl now known as Lillie.
"I'm Ed." said Ed.
"I'm Edd also, but my name has two Ds, so everyone calls me Double-D so not to confuse me with my friend here." said Edd.
"I'm Eddy." said Eddy.
"I'm Sarah." said Sarah.
"And I'm Jimmy." said Jimmy.
"Well, it's nice to meet all of you." said Lillie with a smile, making Edd blush. Edd looks at where the mysterious Pokemon that saved them flew to.
"Excuse me. But what was that Pokemon that saved us?" asked Edd.
"I don't know. But perhaps Kahuna Hala would." said Lillie.
"Do you think he's back in Iki Town?" asked Eddy.
"He should be back by now. Let's go see." said Lillie. "Do you think you could escort us back to town in case more wild Pokemon try attacking us?"
"We'd be delighted to, Miss." said Edd.
"Okay. Let's go." said Eddy. As they started walking back towards Iki Town, Lillie stops and looks at the others.
"Do you think you could keep Nebby a secret?" asked Lillie.
"Why?" asked Ed.
"No one's really supposed to see or know about him." said Lillie.
"If you want us to keep Nebby a secret, then we promise not to say a thing." said Edd.
"Okay." said Ed.
"I don't see why not." said Eddy.
"Fine." said Sarah.
"We'll keep your secret." said Jimmy. Lillie smiles in response.
"Thanks, everyone." said Lillie. She then turns towards Nebby and opens her duffel bag. "Okay, Nebby. Into the bag." Nebby floats towards Lillie and into the duffel bag. She then turns towards the others. "Shall we head back to Iki Town?"
"Lead the way." said Edd. As they walked down the trail, Edd looks at Lillie with a goofy smile and blush on his face. 'Lillie. A beautiful name for a beautiful angel.' Back at the Lemon Brook Juvenile Detention Center, Marie was choking another inmate while May and Lee watched.
"What's your deal? You don't want more problems with the warden again, do you?" asked Lee.
"I just have the sudden urge to hurt someone!" said Marie as she throws the inmate to the ground.
